The strangled cry that comes out is only a whisper, “Yeonjun!”
It must be him. The bare feet are painfully familiar, even dangling in midair.
Kai wants to run to him but he’s terrified of what he’ll find. He forgets how to breathe. Why isn’t he getting up! Why is he in the— He can’t believe his eyes. His vision blurs as he begins to cry. Everything looks swimmy in the dark, but the closer he gets the more he can make out.
It is Yeonjun. In the last place Huening Kai would ever have thought to look for a person.
