    "That. Was. AWESOME."

    Van blinked. "What?"

    Nat was grinning now, grinning, practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. "You have freaking superpowers, Van! Do you even realize how cool that is?"

    Van gaped at her. "You’re not scared?"

    "Scared? Are you kidding? Seeing you in your clown costume when we were six was fucking scary!" Nat’s eyes were alive with excitement. "Van, this is insane. Do you know what this means? You could be a hero! Like, for real!"

    Van has been bitten by a spider, and it only took Nat one night to convince her to change this town. If only trouble didn't follow in their path.
