Summary
He's never been much of a knight, much of anything at all other than a drunk embarrassment to the Targaryen name, but still he reaches for his own sword, pulling it from it's sheath.
Daenys the Dreamer had a father who believed in her. Maybe here, maybe now in Ashford's muddy tournament grounds, surrounded by blood and fog, Daeron could guide his father into finally believing him.
Held tightly in his clammy, trembling palms, only inches away from his father, Daeron lifts his sword.
or; Daeron is granted the mercy of a clearer dream. It doesn't make things easier at Ashford, nor what comes after.

Summary
“You are the grandson of a king, and the blood of the dragon.” When he spoke, he looked beyond Daeron to the wall behind him. “You are my son.”
Daeron’s gaze shot to his father. How long had it been since he’d said such a thing? It was the truth, of course, but after a time it became a truth that Maekar avoided acknowledging out loud. His father looked back to him and the heat in his gaze was gone. There was no hatred, nor resentment. No anger remained. He just looked tired, more tired than Daeron could ever remember him being.
“This is a great honor,” he said again. “You will be a queen.”

Summary
The Hightowers had always been one of the most powerful houses in Westeros. Their wealth and their ties to the Faith had always brought them many opportunities, especially favourable marriages for members of the house.
Jeyne Hightower cared little for such things. Since she was a child, all she had cared for was her faith in the gods. She had cried and begged to be permitted to become a septa, or even a silent sister, if that's what it took. But her father was an ambitious man.
Daeron Targaryen was, admittedly, a problem child. Everyone thought so. They didn't even try to hide their disappointment in him anymore. His father could hardly bear to look at him, and his grandsire often looked past him as if he weren't even there.
Baelor Breakspear knew there was more to his nephew than Daeron the Drunken. He saw the toll the death of Dyanna Dayne had on the boy, and the pressure he was under to help with his six siblings.
