Katsuki’s furrows his brows in confusion. “We? You’re the one who punched a hole in him. That was all you, so don’t go blamin’ it on me when the cops question you.” Izuko giggles at that. Then Katsuki catches on to the tail end of her statement. “Wait, you thought killing someone would feel good? ”
“I mean, I kind of figured it did. People are always killing others all the time, so I figured there must be something good about it.”
It’s not like the logic doesn’t make sense. Katsuki racks his brain for ways to argue it, but he really can’t. The logic is fine, it’s just that what it’s being applied to is … insanely fucked up. He doesn’t want to think to himself that it’s murder. Izuko is not a murderer. She’s just a little weird.
Then Izuko turns to him and stares up at him with those wide green eyes that could probably convince him to do anything. Actually, not probably. They have convinced him before, just as they probably will right now. He knows what that look means. Most guys get Pavloved into popping one whenever their girl puts her hair up in a ponytail. They know what’s coming. But for Katsuki, it’s this. And to his disgust, he feels himself getting hard.

If you trust her judgment with everything else, then why don’t you trust it now? You’re extremely lucky to have someone so loving and accepting in your life. Listen to @theyrecalledaglets. You don’t want to lose her over your insecurities. And yes, definitely talk to her about her sexual interests. If she was on the brink of death, you’ll need to lighten up with the kinky stuff. (Katsuki doesn’t talk to her when they clean up the scene. He doesn’t talk to her when the cops arrive and they have to lie and say that Izuko acted in self-defense. He doesn’t talk on the way back to the agency, or on the way home, or even when they get home.
She knows why. She just needs to tell him that she’s not upset.
But he doesn’t give her the chance. He wakes up before her, eats breakfast without her, heads to work early. Then he avoids her like the plague. Barely even talks to her when they’re on patrol.
Is this her fault? Yeah, it is. If she hadn’t told him to hurt her, she wouldn’t have passed out. Katsuki wouldn’t feel guilty. So yeah, this one’s her fault.
It’s 3 in the morning when the sound of the toilet wakes Izuko up. She turns to face Katsuki’s side of the bed. It’s still cold. He’s probably sleeping on the couch again.
Well he can’t avoid her now. He’s already in the room and he won’t blatantly ignore her.
As soon as the bathroom door opens, Izuko lets out a weak “Kacchan?” She can’t see him but she can hear him freeze. He doesn’t say anything, so she keeps talking. “You’re upset about the other day, right?”
No response.
“You don’t have to be,” Izuko distractedly draws circles on Katsuki’s pillow with her forefinger. “I pushed you too far. I know that. You’re not into the same things I am. I know that. And I pushed you anyway.”
Silence.
Izuko sighs heavily. “I love you, Katsuki. Can you please sleep next to me tonight?”
“I love you too,” Katsuki mumbles before leaving the bedroom again. It’s nothing major, but getting a response from him when he’s in a funk is always an achievement.
Izuko closes her eyes and tries to sleep. She’s not sure how much time has passed, but the bedroom door opens and closes and Katsuki climbs on the mattress next to her. He pulls her close and wraps her in his arms.
Maybe she should tell him that being with him is the safest she’s ever felt.)
