he was young but he can remember it vividly.
he was home, mama and papa were….. somewhere but they had left the television on.
if he thinks hard enough he can still feel the warmth of the screen beneath he fingertips.
they had left the television on.
and thats when he saw him.
that hero.
so loud and happy.
he saw him and he hoped.
he thought of the loud happy hero
he thought of the loud happy hero taking him away from here.
he thought of the loud happy hero when mama and papa came home and mama grabbed his wrist to drag him out.
he thought of the loud happy hero when papa made him spark.
he thought of the loud happy hero when mama dug her nails into his wrist, dragging him along through the corridor, past the smell of burnt flesh.
he thought of the loud happy hero when papa drug out all the sparks from him.
he thought of the loud happy hero taking him away.
he saw him.
he saw the loud happy hero when mama pushed him into the alleyway and told him to stay.
he saw the loud happy hero and the others take down mama and papa.
he saw the loud happy hero as he walked past him.
he saw the loud happy hero ignore his little cry.
he saw the loud happy hero walk away.
he was older, and him and himiko were still scrounging to get by when she came bounding in, her knife dangling haphazardly from her fingertips.
a villain organization she said.
lets take what is rightfully ours.
so they showed up, and himiko has never been one to take no for an answer.
so they joined and he was set with the task of being the hero.

he thought of the loud happy hero when he slipped into the role of the dumb stupid boy all to well.
he saw the loud happy hero while he sat in his english class, his hands absentmindedly signing along with the loud happy heros words.

he thought of mama and papa.
he thought of the family he had always wished they could be.

he thought of the family he had never thought he would get.
he stayed after class.

he clenched his jaw tight.
he listened to his words.
he thought of the alleyway.
he thought of mama's sharp manicured nails digging into his wrist.
he thought of papa's hands dragging the sparks from his skin.
he thought of the static filled warmth of a television.
