Then, with a wet slap, Legend surfaced, thudding against the bank, paws sinking into the mud. He looked, in a word, ridiculous. The water had flattened his fluffy fur down against his skin, altering his normally sleek silhouette and exposing a much smaller and more bony and angular frame, and it made his eyes look like they were far too big for his face.
Or: Literal Wet Cat Legend, and the unfortunate fact that soulmate forms don’t override curses.
