I'll Always Follow You

Summary:

When THE incident from middle school comes up one day after class, Bakugou has to come to terms with the fact that Deku once again is manipulating everyone in order to get his hands on him. It's been years since he's dreamt of life outside the metaphorical bird cage his childhood friend put him in; but the time for being afraid is over. It's time to break free.

**
“See, if I didn’t give those idiots the ability to storm out and make it about themselves then they might have listened to you.” The gleam in the other’s eyes presented just how crazed he actually was, “and I can’t have that. If they’re all around you then I can’t have you to myself.”

Midoriya kneeled down on the bed in front of him, running his fingers through the others pale blonde hair.

“So beautiful,” he sighed, as he moved on to rubbing his thumb under the others wide red eyes, “I could be everything you need if you’d just let me.”

Work Text:

To his horror he realized he’d been in this situation before. His classmates were looking at him with glares he hadn’t felt since he was in middle school. He didn’t know how news had travelled around the school so fast back then, but he deduced that it was probably the same way as right now.

“You told him to kill himself?” Uraraka demanded, taking an aggressive step towards him.

He blanked for a moment, taking a step back causing his desk to scrape loudly against the floor. “Who-“

“Uraraka please calm down!” Midoriya yelled, grabbing her arm.

“No! He shouldn’t be able to get away with stuff like that!” She shouted back, frustrated tears gathering in her eyes.

He wrung his hands nervously in front of himself.

“It’s really not as bad as you think!” Midoriya stuttered, gaining sympathetic looks from everyone in room.

“Really?” The brunette snapped, whirling around to him, “so he didn’t tell you to ‘take a swan dive off the roof’?”

The green haired boy’s eyes widened before he opted to stare down at his shoes instead. Tears gathered in his eyes, but he tried to wipe them away quickly as they fell down his face. The tension in the room seemed to increase by ten-fold, choking the accused blonde into silence.

“Is that true?” Kirishima asked from beside him when he snapped out of his stupor.

Bakugou bit his lip, trying to push down the fury that was trying to come out. “Yes.” He growled.

The redhead looked like he’s been slapped before his expression cooled considerably.

“Jesus Christ,” he hissed throwing his bag over his shoulder, “you’re fucked up.”

“But-“

“Save it.” Mina snapped, following after the redhead.

He watched helplessly as his classmates left the room, their glares giving him unconscious shivers.

“Let’s go Deku.” Uraraka huffed, grabbing his wrist to pull his out of the room.

The brunette gave him a sneer before turning her nose up and marching out of the classroom.

Unbeknownst to her, the greenette’s nose wrinkled in disgust at her use of his nickname. Never-the-less he looked back at the blonde with a wide grin and a wink.  It felt as though cold water had been dumped on top of him. It really was happening all over again. He threw a hand over his mouth, gagging harshly. ‘I’m gonna to be sick.’

The unease he felt was debilitating as he carefully left the classroom. He popped his head out into the hallway to check left and right, breathing a sigh of relief when he didn’t see any of his classmates. He pulled his phone out in order to text his redheaded best friend. His stomach dropped completely when the message immediately came back with the reply that his number had been blocked. Tears gathered in his eyes as he stomped to the gym. It was the only way that he would be able to beat out his anger and try to come up with a contingency plan to deal with his new situation. His fists ached as he threw punch after punch at the bag, his music pounding in his ears. He could still vividly see the expression on Kirishima’s face as he turned from him in disgust.

“DAMN IT!” He yelled, throwing a final punch at the bag, before slumping to the ground with a wheeze.

“You look exhausted.”

He whirled around, stumbling against the bag weakly. He half expected to see the cause of all his problems but was surprised to see the pain in the ass from 1-B Monoma Neito.

“What are you doing here?” Bakugou growled, climbing to his feet.

He attempted to gather himself enough to continue his workout and ignore the newcomer. The other blonde rolled his eyes, crossing his arms.

“Believe it or not, other people work out after class besides you.” He snapped back but kept silent after, examining him.

Bakugou raised at suspicious brow at him. By now he would probably be whirling insults at him and his classmates but instead he was watching him carefully.

“I heard what happened after class today,” he finally stated, “between you and the green haired kid.”

The explosion users’ eyes flew wide, before narrowing again and looking away.

“Are you here to gloat then?” He hissed, “to tell me that I don’t deserve to be in the hero class?”

The blonde stared at him for a moment again, before sighing quietly. “He’s stalking you, isn’t he?”

Bakugou’s face fell completely in shock. “Wha-, How-,” he stumbled over his words helplessly.

“You’d be surprised by the amount of people obsessed with blonde-haired blue-eyed boys.” He replied honestly, suddenly appearing somber, “these dorms have kind of been a blessing.”

Bakugou nodded in understanding. “but your stalker is within the walls.” Monoma added.

Bakugou nodded again, a bit hesitantly.

“Why haven’t you told anyone?” Monoma asked, sitting down next to him.

“He scares me.” Bakugou replied, hugging his legs to his chest.

Monoma was surprised by how much the boy was seemingly opening up to him.

“Scares you?” He asked, “no offence but you don’t seem like someone who’s scared of anything.”

“I’m not,” Bakugou spat, before curling into himself more, “but he’s.. different.”

“What does he do?” Monoma inquired, trying to gauge the severity of the situation.

The blond tensed up next to him, looking around the room. He looked like he was making sure the shadows in the corners of the room wouldn’t happen to be the green haired teen staring at him. It wouldn’t be the first time. “I don’t want to talk about it.” He finally stated, looking uncomfortably over at him.

Monoma nodded slowly, standing back up and offering him a hand. The explosive blonde hesitated for a second before accepting the offer. “I understand if you’re not ready to talk about it.” Monoma stated, “but maybe you should try talking to one of your friends and explaining the situation. If I can see the problem than that’s something right there.”

Bakugou laughed quietly.

They sat in silence for a moment, basking in the disbelief that not only were they getting along and talking but that they actually had something in common with one another.

“When something was happening to me, I didn’t tell anyone for a long time.” Monoma added, “It was almost too late by the time I came clean.”

Bakugou bit his lip nervously, “yeah, I think I’ll talk to Kirishima about it. I’m pretty sure he’ll listen to me.”

Monoma regarded him for a moment, maybe sensing his hesitation. The copycat dug in his pocket to pull out his phone much to the confusion of the other teen.

“Here.” Monoma started, handing him his phone, “exchange numbers with me.”

“Why?” Bakugou asked, despite already handing his own phone over.

“I know this is going to piss you off, but I’m worried that something will happen and I want you to know that you have someone on your side,” Monoma stated, looking slightly embarrassed, “I needed someone on my side and I just pushed everyone away.”

Bakugou smiled softly, giving him a grunt of agreement. “Thanks.”

He took out his roll of boxing tape to re-tape his knuckles before throwing it to the other boy. “Tape up your hands, I’ll hold the bag for you.” He stated, giving him a challenging grin.

Monoma answered with his own grin and nod.

Monoma and him split when they got closer to the dorms; A on the left and B on the right. He couldn’t shake off the feeling of loneliness and anxiousness as he stood outside of the front doors. He opted to stay on the front porch for just a few more minutes. He could hear the clattering of dishes and people talking from inside, making his stomach churn with nervousness. “I can’t just stay out here all night.” He thought, gripping the handle and as quietly as he could, slipped inside.

He quickly slipped his shoes off, already feeling some heavy stares on him. He kept his eyes glued to ground, not sure whether to lay low, or enter like it wasn’t bothering him. He opted for a bit of both as he slipped into the kitchen to quickly heat up some soup that he could eat upstairs in his room. Unfortunately, he was leaving just as Uraraka was entering; punctuated by her “accidentally” hip checking him. The scalding liquid splashed over his wrist, causing him to drop the bowl to the ground. He yelped, hurrying back over to the sink and running cold water over the burn. “Oops, sorry about that.” The brunette cooed, with a barely hidden smirk.

He scowled down at his hand that was beginning to blister slightly but kept completely silent. He shut off the faucet and grabbed a towel to clean up his meal from the floor. “What?” Uraraka pushed, coming into his space, “you’re not going to say anything?”

He ignored her, opting to quickly clean up and get out of there. “You’re not going to scream at me to ‘stay the fuck out of my way?’ How about ‘watch where the fuck I’m going?’”

He could see she was quickly losing her patience, also catching everyone else’s attention from the common room. He could both hear and see a couple of them giggling to each other. He grabbed the broom to clean up the broken glass. The brunette scowled, literally standing over him now. “How about you tell me to ‘jump off the roof of the dorms’?” She spat, “I know you like that one.”

He grimaced, trying to ignore her as he discarded the shards and pushing past her to run up the stairs. He escaped into his dorm room, locking the door behind him. He sighed loudly as his stomach growled, there was no way that he was attempting to get something else to eat until everyone was gone. Despite how strong he believed himself to be, he wasn’t sure how long he would be able to keep this up. He remembered Monoma’s advice and went to Kirishima’s room. He knocked quietly, already hearing the redhead coming to the door. He was greeted with a nasty scowl when Kirishima realized who was standing at his door. “What do you want?” He hissed.

“Can I talk to you?” Bakugou asked hesitantly, nervously shuffling.

“No.” The redhead stated, moving to slam that door.

“Wait, please!-“ Bakugou shouted, trying to keep the door open, “please just listen to me!”

“I don’t want to listen to your bullshit!” Kirishima yelled back, putting his full weight on the door and succeeding in blocking him out.

“Fucking fine!” The blonde sobbed, suddenly overwhelmed by the situation.

He dragged himself back to his room, dropping into his bed. He rolled on his side and stared blankly at his room. He genuinely didn’t know what to do now, no one was listening to him bar Monoma. Thankfully he quickly slipped into sleep.

However, waking up was the exact opposite. He could feel the oppressing atmosphere shocking him out of deep sleep. He flinched back violently when he saw that his desk chair was occupied by the boy that had been tormenting him for years now.

“I locked the doors.” He stated, almost a whisper.

The statement didn’t appear to phase the boy at all.

“You know that’s never stopped me before.” Midoriya chuckled, absentmindedly scribbling in that god damn notebook.

He glared weakly at the book in his lap, who knows what he was up to while he had been sleeping. “So how was your day?” Midoriya continued.

“You know damn well how it went.” The blonde hissed, shifting his attention to his blanket as he curled into himself.

“Look at me when you’re talking!” The stalker snapped, voice gripped with authority.

He assumed that his fear was written on his face when he snapped his attention back to the green haired teen because his face softened considerably compared to the animalistic fury that was there before.

“Oh Kaachan, there’s no need to look at me like that.” He cooed, “if you just listened to the things I’ve been telling you, I wouldn’t have to reprimand you like that.”

The blonde opted to stay silent, as the other eyed him up and down pausing on his blistered forearm. His brows furrowed in confusion.

“Where did you get that?” He asked, staring at it questionably, “I haven’t seen that before.”

“It doesn’t matter-“

“Where. did. you. get. it.” Midoriya hissed, his anger taking over again; despite how he tried to sound patient.

“Round face bumped into me.” He replied quietly, silently begging forgiveness from the brunette.

“I’ll have to do something about that.” The stalker mused to himself, seeming to lose himself in his own head, “I didn’t expect her to jump head-first in like she did.”

“How long have you been planning this?” The blonde suddenly blurted out, “you never hesitated before, so why now?”

“Because you’re a solid piece of the class now,” The grenette replied with a knowing smirk. They’d been playing the same game of cat and mouse for a long time now, “If the people that surrounded you would drop you at this point then I would be able to show you that they don’t really care about you.”

It made Bakugou pause for a moment. That’s exactly what happened. All his friends turned their backs to him immediately. It almost made him feel that his childhood “friend” was on to something. It seemed that Midoriya caught on to his current thoughts because he was grinning from ear to ear.

“As with anything involving me, there was a lot of background work but down to the minute was calculated-“

“You planned this out down to the time of day?” Bakugou whispered, his expression turning horrified.

“You’re so smart Kacchan.” Midoriya cooed, finally standing up from the chair, “that’s why I love you so much.”

The blonde shuffled backwards against his wall as the green haired boy stalked closer, crowding him.

“You’re psycho!” Bakugou yelled.

In return Midoriya gnashed his teeth, his face twisting into an ugly snarl and slammed his hand next to the blonde’s head.

“Come on Kaachan. I’m the only one you need. You and I both know that.” Midoriya purred.

“You isolated me from everyone!”

“And for the better! They were just tainting you! Look what happened when I decided to take it easy.” The greenette growled, grabbing his burnt arm tightly and yanking, “your personality turned disgusting as well as your clothing and foul language.”

The blonde fought for tears not to squeeze out of his eyes at the pain. “I’ll fix it soon enough though, don’t worry.” He stated, releasing him.

Bakugou winced, protectively bringing his arm into himself as he watched the others every movement. The other teen looked as if he was going to continue to do something when his phone beeped loudly. He scowled, pulling it out of his pocket and reading the texts. “As much as I would love to stay and keep you company, I have some classmates to entertain with a “class movie night”,” He stated, walking over to the blondes closet and opening the door.

He shuffled through as Bakugou watched in weakly concealed fear. He pulled out a big orange hoodie, pulling it over his head. Bakugou bit his lip to stop himself from protesting. The sooner the little freak was done, the sooner he would leave him alone. The green haired teen grinned at the attention from the other, opening the door. “You’ll realize soon enough that no one appreciates you like I do.” He stated, disappearing into the hallway.

The blonde stared blankly at the door. Everything felt hallow. He was getting more and more brazen than he ever was before. If he was going to a movie night with the class, he had at least an hour. He slid off the bed, turning on his light frantically. He reached under his bed and pulled out his lockbox that had his RF signal detector. He had gotten it the first time he accidentally found one of Midoriya’s cameras hidden in his room. Considering that his mom loved Midoriya like her own child, the amount of times the detector came in handy was well worth the hefty price tag. He opted to check over the room himself first dividing his room into sections and searching through all his things. He started on his desk, moving around his objects looking for anything suspicious. He immediately noticed a leather-bound notebook that he didn’t recognize, throwing it behind him on the bed.

He went over the rest of the desk, not seeing anything more and moving on.

“You can’t be serious.” He breathed, when his eyes caught on his smoke detector.

It was close to the one that was previously installed but he could see the faint blinking of a red light instead of the usual green.

“What if there was fire or something?” He fumed, climbing on his chair to disable the camera, and throwing it on the bed as well, “he’d probably be the one to set it anyways.”

He couldn’t wait to destroy them later. He grabbed his scanner just to make sure he hadn’t missed anything and swallowed loudly when multiple sources popped up. There was a small one stuck on the back wall of his bookshelf, one hidden in the shadow of his bed, and one more by the door. He was confused when he eyed the doorway and couldn’t find the final camera. Checking his scanner again he finally found that it was a screw in the hinge. A shiver travelled up his spine, “How’s that even possible?”

He covered the lense quickly with a piece of duct tape and turned the lights off again. He reached into his lockbox again and pulled out his signal jammer. Having it running would help him feel just a little more at ease in his own space. He felt a bit stupid for falling asleep without all his extra precautions in place, leaving him vulnerable to the little creeps’ actions. He wasn’t going to make that mistake again. Quickly, he slid the extra chain lock he installed tight and stuck the security bar in between his balcony doors. He felt a bit safer as he drifted off to sleep for the second time that night.

As expected Uraraka showed up to class the next morning with a bandage wrapped around the exact same place Bakugou had his own injury. When Deku said that he was going to ‘do something about it’ it meant when was going to do something about it. He could hear his classmates expressing their concern for her. She explained with her own ramblings that Deku had accidently spilled the coffee pot on her that morning when he was trying to put some in his mug. He almost gagged when he started to blush and tell the girls that it was kind of cute. He kept silent instead when said boy walked in with a sheepish smile, and brushed his fingers across the blondes bandage as he past him to sit in his desk.

Maybe he did have a little too much faith in his friends. He had expected at least one of them to cool down a bit and then approach him eventually, but over the course of the week their attitudes had gotten even worse towards him. His first lunch break after the incident left him alone and feeling pathetic. The second was very much the exact same, except he could hear loud comments being made about him from his classmates, even the pathetic grape baby was getting in on the action. It caught his attention when he heard someone groan out a “Monoma” from the other side of the cafeteria.

The 1-B blonde was in front of him soon enough, much to the glee of his classmates who were well prepared for the blood bath. There was a shared feeling of shock when instead he urged the explosion user up out of his seat and to Monoma’s own table. His friend/keeper Kendo seemed pleased with this outcome instead of having to drag his body back. He was lazily greeted by the others at the table but was overall just ignored which he didn’t mind at all. Monoma sent a look to Kendo, who raised her eyebrows but turned to start chatting to the person on her other side.

“Did you talk to your friend at all?” He asked quietly, not wanting to bring attention to them.

Bakugou scraped at his food slowly. “It didn’t go well.” He replied, “he told me not to talk to him and slammed his door in my face.”

“What the hell man?”

Bakugou shrugged before he suddenly had an idea. He pulled his phone out and started texting Camie and Inasa. He decided against writing in their group chat, seeing as the half and half was so far up Deku’s ass he was practically coming out of his mouth. “Are you free this weekend?” Bakugou asked to the teen sitting across from him.

“Yeah, I guess.” Monoma replied with a shrug, “why what’s up?”

“I’m meeting up with some friends and I think it would help to have you there.” He stated, finally digging into his lunch.

They finished up lunch quickly and parted ways. “I’ll let you know when we’re leaving campus this weekend.” Bakugou stated as he departed.

He turned to go back to meet up with Kendo, jumping when he came face to face with Midoriya Izuku. He smiled sweetly at him and apologized cheerfully for startling him. “I was just wondering if I could talk to you for a second?” The green haired teen asked innocently.

“Why should I waste my time bothering with you?” Monoma asked, his arrogant attitude returning.

“It’s about Kaachan.” He replied, keeping his emotions completely level, “I just need to let you know something.”

The blonde raised a questioning eyebrow at him but shrugged and followed him down the hall. “I noticed that you seem to be friends with Kaachan now.” Midoriya stated.

“Can you get to the chase,” Monoma sighed, “Like I said, I don’t have the time to waste with you.”

If anything the greenette’s smile got even more friendly. It was freaking him out how well he was able to hide the crazy.

“I’ve just overheard Kaachan saying stuff about you to his friends and I felt like you have the right to know.” He replied, giving him a pitying look.

“Like what?” Monoma hissed, crossing his arms.

He could see the second shift in the other’s eyes as he believed that he caught him in his trap. This creep seriously was trying to get everyone in Bakugou’s life to cut ties with him. “It wasn’t anything serious I promise,” Midoriya stated, shuffling anxiously, “it was just some comments about being class B instead of A and some stuff about your quirk.”

“What the hell? Why?” He scowled, “as if I care about what he thinks of me.”

“I just thought you should know. I know that Kaachan can be mean sometimes but don’t think about it too much.” Midoriya said, checking his watch just as the bell rang, “thanks for letting me talk to you!”

The blonde watched as he disappeared around the corner before pulling out his phone and making sure Bakugou was aware of what just happened.

Bakugou was already sitting at his desk when Midoriya entered the room. Both of them were way ahead of everyone else in their class which made the blonde apprehensive about being in the room alone with him.

“I was disappointed to see that all my camera’s where disabled when I was done with the movie.” He said taking his seat behind him.

The blonde opted to ignore him, instead getting his notebooks and textbook ready for class. His orange sweatshirt appeared in the corner of his eye, catching him off guard.

“Sorry for stealing your stuff,” Midoriya stated, offering it to the other.

Bakugou hesitantly reached out to take it before it was snatched back out of his reach. “It still smells like you.”

He ground his teeth, snatching it out of his hands and stuffing it into his desk. “Leave me alone.”

It felt like the rest of the day dragged on with Midoriya’s eyes seeming to never leave his back.

He warned Monoma the next morning to meet him outside the gates instead of at the dorms incase Midoriya saw them together. He was already getting pushier and he didn’t want him to go into berserk mode. They were going to meet his friends at their favourite cafe in the city, which thankfully wasn’t that far from the train station.

“Hey bb!” Came greeted cheerfully as soon as he was in her sights.

The two of them were stuffed in a booth near the back of the café, carefully tucked away from other customers. He silently thanked Camie for her foresight. He didn’t want anyone outside the situation to know what was going on. He had to cough over a laugh as he noticed that Inasa was almost hanging out of the booth due to him being an absolute unit.

“Hey.” He greeted back, sitting down in the booth they managed to snag, “this is Monoma by the way.”

“It is very good to see you Bakugou!” Inasa’s voice boomed, “and it’s a pleasure to meet you formally Monoma!”

“Are you going to tell us what’s going on fam?” Camie asked, leaning her elbows on the table, “Don’t get me wrong it’s great to hang out but your message sounded..urgent.”

He mentally prepared for the explosion of emotion that was no doubt going to erupt, he took a deep breath to calm himself, “I told Deku to kill himself.”

“Why?” Camie asked, her posture conveying her seriousness.

The blonde’s eyes furrowed looking between the two of them, who were waiting for his answer. “Why?” He parroted, suddenly unsure of himself.

“You’re not one to just say something like that without a reason.” Inasa told him, seeming to sense his uneasiness.

“You’re the first ones to ask me why.” Bakugou replied, glancing over at Monoma.

He cleared his throat quietly, straightening up in his seat. “That’s why I asked you to come here. I need to get this off my chest to someone.” He said, “it’s eating me up from the inside and I don’t know what to do.”

His friends nodded to him to continue.

“He’s been stalking me since we were little kids.” He started, “He was actually pretty normal until we were around 6 or 7 and then he started to act.. different.”

He started to rub his hand uncomfortably against his injured forearm. “He started to follow me wherever I went even if I went home, he would beg my mom to let him stay the night when I told him I didn’t want him to. He started to grab me way more often like he was examining me.”

He bit his lip, he was getting more anxious by the second.

“As we got older it started to get more creepy and scary. He started to make comments about my skin and my appearance and how I acted. Believe it or not but I wasn’t always a raging asshole.” He chuckled weakly, “he always commented about how nice and quiet I was so I thought that maybe if I was loud and abrasive it would snap him out of it and leave me alone; but I think I just made it worse instead. He started talking about how he was going to ‘fix me’.”

His friends faces twisted in horror. “He also started to tell me that people were saying things about me, even telling me that my parents were talking about me when I was out of the room. I didn’t realize until after a while that he was lying to isolate me from everyone. When I caught on, he decided it was easier to just do it the opposite way and get people to ditch me instead.” He sighed.

He could still remember the faces of his classmates clearly, presently and in middle school. The first year of middle school was absolute hell for him and he never wanted to feel the way he did back then ever again. He was almost lucky that his teachers were such shit there because they didn’t seem to give a fuck about the fake niceties that the green haired stalker had put up trying to gain their sympathy.

It clearly annoyed him but he still cooed at the blonde as he hung off of him as he reluctantly walked home with him. “I don’t want to see you talking to them again.”

He had been talking about his “friends”. The only the people seemingly in the school besides the teachers that didn’t give a fuck about what Deku had said to them. They were just in it to bully him anyways.

“When we were in middle school, he started getting braver and ended up sneaking into my room all the time. The first time it happened I woke up and found a little gift bag on my desk full of stuff. I thought it was my mom or something so I didn’t say anything to her, but instead I was walking to school and he walked up to me and asked ‘if I found the little gifts’ that he’d left for me.” A shiver travelled through the groups spines, “I was too shocked to say anything back to him, and he seemed pleased that he was able to shut me up.”

The grin that was on the boys face was bigger than any smile ever should be. He was staring down at him like he was like a new toy that he couldn’t wait to break the legs off of.

“What did you do?” Bakugou stuttered out to the other boy, “why were you in my room.”

“Well, Auntie Mitsuki wouldn’t let me in because she said that you were sleeping but I had to give you my gifts.”

Gifts plural?”

“Oh, I guess you haven’t found the others.”

“I thought by finally getting in UA I would be able to finally get away from him,” Bakugou explained, “but to my shock he was able to follow me there too.”

He didn’t understand how he was able to get into UA in the first place. He didn’t even have a quirk! “What the hell are you doing!” Bakugou screamed in his face.

Fuck his fears. Right now, he just needed answers.

“It’s as plain and simple as I was able to get in Kaachan,” Midoriya replied, “Aren’t you happy? Now we can go together!”

“No, I’m not happy! I was finally supposed to be free of you!” Bakugou shouted back, surprising himself with his sudden courage.

“I thought you would get it by now Kaachan,” Midoriya shook his head with a pitying smile, “It doesn’t matter where you go. I’ll always follow you.”

“Now he’s doing it all over again.” The blonde finally finished.

The atmosphere around the group was thick. “I think you need to tell someone Kat,” Camie finally suggested, pulling out her phone to fire off a few texts, “this is beyond any kind of stalking I’ve heard about before.”

“We’re always here to help as well!” Inasa shouted, “I’m sure Todoroki would be willing to listen to your side of the story.”

“Yeah, if he could stop being so thirsty.” Camie muttered.

“I just feel like theirs some weight off my chest.” Bakugou sighed, “I’ve never been able to talk to anyone about this before. It’s nice to have some people that believe me.”

“You guys got the weekend off right?” Camie asked, “Like you’re allowed to stay off campus?”

The two of them nodded, earning a wide smile from the blonde girl, “You guys should come a stay at my house! We can hang out and try to figure out a plan!”

“Like a mission!” Inasa exclaimed, pumping one of his fists in the air.

“Is that.. okay?” Monoma asked, a bit unsure.

He had just met the two an hour ago and they were already excited to spend the entire weekend together.

“Yeah, it’s no big deal my dude, my parents are away this weekend for work so I get the house to myself!” She replied, her usual attitude finally returning.

The air felt a little bit lighter and Bakugou felt hope that he hadn’t felt in a really long time.

“I’m down.” Bakugou stated.

“Do you think Midoriya is going to try anything while you’re not there?” Monoma asked hesitantly.

“I put my security bar on my balcony door and double locked my dorm room door so he shouldn’t be able to get in,” The blonde replied with a shrug, “even if he does get in I don’t keep anything sentimental anymore because he would always take them.”

“I’m gonna beat his ass no cap.” Camie shouted, “Let’s get out of here I’m getting heated.”

Given the circumstances that the four had come together for the weekend, Bakugou was having more fun than he had in a long time. The four of them were sprawled around Camie’s room.

“I swear, it’s like they wanted this to happen!” He exclaimed, as Camie continued painting his toes, “it’s like the first opportunity they had to dump my ass they did! They’re all like, ‘Oh! We’re the Bakusquad! We’re centered around Bakugou!’. Alright bet!”

“Those snakes are chasing your clout babe,” Camie replied scowling, “don’t give them the attention they’re begging for periodt.”

“What the hell are they saying?” Monoma complained loudly from beside Inasa who was busy painting on a face mask.

“Your guess is as good as mine!” He replied cheerfully, “do you want the honey or cucumber?”

“Cucumber.”

The annoying chime that the blonde haired girl went off a couple times before she finally decided to pick it up.

“Oh my god!” Camie yelled suddenly holding up her phone, “Todoroki said he’s outside!”

“Why the hell is he here?” Bakugou snapped, his irritation obviously returning if the creases in his forehead were anything to go by.

“Shhh, relax,” Inasa whispered, grabbing him by the face and smoothing his finger between the others eyebrows, “relax, relax, relax.”

“You- you can’t get…. get.. me.. to-“ Bakugou sighed, as he focused on the soothing feeling instead.

“Camie I know you’re in there!” They heard Todoroki yell up from the front yard, “please don’t make me play sad music from my shitty android! I may be rich but my dad’s still an asshole!”

She opted to ignore his yelling, instead going back to her phone.

“I’m sorry okay!” He yelled again, “I shouldn’t have ignored everything! I should have talked to you because you’re my friend!”

That got Bakugou to raise his brows in questioning, glancing over to Camie. She held up her phone that had conversations from her and Todoroki since the time he told them everything. She bounced over to her window, opening it wide to lean out to the teen. “Why are you sorry again?” She asked.

“For ignoring-“

“The real reason.”

His face screwed up for a moment, before sighed and digging his toes into the ground in irritation. “I’m sorry for being a thirsty simp.” He stated with hollow acceptance.

“Get ready for your vibe check bitch.” Bakugou added, suddenly beside Camie at the window.

The half-and-half boy was surprised to see Monoma sitting in the room when he was finally let in. The two having determined that he wasn’t doing some sort of espionage shit for the green haired teen.

“Camie texted me to just be careful and to watch out for him.” Todoroki started, pulling his hair into a ponytail above his forehead. He looked eerily similar to the ‘go back to sleep and starve’ guy. He was slightly annoyed that there wasn’t any cucumber left but that’s what happens when you pull a big yikes, “I thought about telling him but I thought better of it and kept it to myself.”

Bakugou tensed up, “he doesn’t know that I’m here right?”

Todoroki bit his lip with a clear expression of not quite sadness or pity but a mix of both. “No,” he breathed, “no. I made sure of that.”

He let out a heavy sigh. “He kept asking me if I knew where you were though. He was asking everyone in the dorms.” Todoroki continued, “and since no one had even been willing to talk to you, of course no one knew where you went. That might have been a good thing. He had talked to your mom and she said that you weren’t going there this weekend. He got agitated really quickly.”

“I don’t know why he isn’t skulking around town then.” Bakugou huffed, bringing his knees to his chest.

“He doesn’t have permission to leave campus this weekend. I was only allowed to leave because I have a “pro-hero” as my sperm donor.” Todoroki explained, “although I bet his not-dad All Might could get him out whenever he wanted.”

He spit on the floor when he accidently got some of the mask into his mouth. “Why are you like this?” Camie huffed.

“So, what are we going to do then?” Inasa asked, “this can’t continue anymore this is starting to get to the point where it could damage your career before it even begins.”

“At this point it’s just your word against his and everyone seems to be clinging onto his right now.” Monoma added, “we need evidence.”

“I still have all the cameras he’s planted in my room, and the stuff he’s left for me.” Bakugou shrugged, “they’re in my room.”

“Wait cameras?” Todoroki asked.

“Yeah, you missed a lot so I’ll tell you later.” Bakugou replied before a light bulb went off in his head, “wait. His journals.”

“The hero analysis ones?” Todoroki asked.

Bakugou nodded, “they should just say ‘Bakugou analysis’ because that’s all it is. He has 13 of them filled with really creepy shit about me and different interactions we’ve had.”

“So, we just need to get our hands on those journals.” Inasa nodded, “or get him to show everyone them.”

Their plan was pretty simplistic by anyone’s standards. Get inside, get the journals, expose with receipts. The guards at the front gates were very kind, and they almost felt bad taking advantage of that kindness to get the two Shiketsu students inside with them. Although based on the fact that they were Shiketsu students and they were coming in with 3 UA students there was no reason to suspect they were doing anything shady. All 5 of them were hauling large shopping bags with them, under the guise that they were helping carry things in for them.

“Thank you, mister!” Camie said happily as the guard let them through the gate, “we really appreciate it!”

“No problem.” The elderly man replied, “have a nice day.”

“Did we actually have to buy this much stuff?” Monoma complained, hiking the bag up his shoulder.

“What? Are you not strong enough?” Bakugou teased, nearly hip checking him off the sidewalk.

“Shut up bottle blonde.” Monoma sneered, smaking him back.

“Hey! This is all natural!” Bakugou hollered.

“Babe chill, we’re all gorgeous blonde bombshells.” Camie stated, stepping in between them.

“Aww, now I want to be blonde.” Inasa sighed, already carrying Todoroki’s bags along with his own.

“Let’s bleach your fuzz!” Camie suggested excitedly, “Yours too Todo! We can all match!”

“I’m 100% down to fuck up my hair.” Todoroki replied, throwing up a chilled-out peace sign.

The group of them wheezed as they opened the doors to the 1A dorms but froze when they could feel the rest of the class staring at them from the common room. Midoriya was standing in front of them, as if he was in the middle of giving them a speech. He was gawking at them for a moment before his eyes hardened.

“Todoroki I’ve been looking for you!” He exclaimed, before surprise took over his voice, “but you were with.. Kaachan?”

“Todoroki man,” Kaminari addressed him with a shake of his head, “what the hell are you doing?”

It felt as if their glares were 10 times harsher than they had been the entire week.

“What the hell were you saying to them?” Bakugou seethed, breaking away from his group.

“A-ah, n-nothing!” Midoriya replied, shakily.

He took a step back, waving his hands in the air signaling his surrender. Kirishima, unfortunately, didn’t have the intention of letting him get away without saying something.

“He was telling us all the shit you’ve said behind our backs!” Kirishima yelled, standing up from his place on the couch, “and what you really think about us.”

He stalked forward with the intention to do something. Their classmates didn’t move to do anything about it.

“I suggest you take a step back.” Inasa said, stepping between them.

The red head stepped back in surprise, craning his neck up to stare at him.

“What the hell are you doing in here?” He snapped.

“We’re helping our friend.” He replied back coolly.

The two of them glared at each other, neither one backing down. Although Bakugou knew that Inasa’s titan height was definitely intimidating to the redhead. Inasa’s reputation from the provisional exam stuck with the entireity of 1-A. He was supposed to be one of them, and finished the initial part of the exam faster than anyone else by taking 120 people out.

“You don’t even know what he did,” Jirou commented, “if you did then you wouldn’t be calling him that.”

“We know what he “did” sis”, Camie retaliated, “we also know what that creep did.”

Midoriya shot the blonde a look. To anyone it would be completely neutral but to Bakugou he could see the confusion and disbelief. “I told them everything Midoriya.” He stated, shakily moving around Inasa to stand in front of him.

He could see the clear annoyance at hearing his name instead of his nickname from the blonde. In his own way he was cracking the carefully crafted disguise the other made.

“I’m not going to let you hold me in the palm of your hand anymore. I refuse to be scared of you.”

“What are you talking about Kaachan?” He asked innocently, quirking his head in question.

“I told them all about you would follow me home and sneak into my room at night while I was sleeping. How you would take my stuff in the dead of night.” He spat, anger and hatred fueling the adrenaline in his body. Without it he didn’t think he would be able to keep his courage in front of him, “I told them how you intimidated me into silence by using my own mother against me! You convinced her that I was crazy and over exaggerating. You’ve been spreading lies about what I think about people!”

He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, and he wasn’t sure if that was him going into fight or flight mode or the start of a panic attack. He felt unhinged almost, but he wanted this more than anything.

“Take a drink Queen,” Camie said, handing him a water bottle, “hydrate.”

He chugged it quickly, throwing it to the ground. “Now go off sis.”

He wanted everyone to know that he wasn’t the bad guy here, even though he was made out to be his entire life just because of the fact that Midoriya was obsessed with him.

“I’ve never said shit behind someone’s back! If I have something to say to someone, I say it to their god damn face.” He added, he could feel tears gathering in his eyes, “you always took everything from me! You didn’t even want to be a pro-hero until I told you that I wanted to. You were always obsessed with making me look like an idiot so I would eventually fall into your arms for comfort.”

He caught the minute jump in the others expression before it steeled again. Got him.

To his surprise, Midoriya didn’t address him, but his friends gathered around him.

“I’m sorry,” He started, catching them all off guard, “I don’t know what he told you but it’s not true. He’s been doing this for years.”

He could feel the massive eye roll Camie gave him in return. Midoriya chuckled nervously, almost confused that they weren’t buying his obvious bullshit.

“I know we look like a group of hot morons,” Camie stated, her fist on her hip, “but we’re two of the smartest students in Shiketsu. Todoroki’s a dumb bitch but he’s got common sense. I don’t know much about Monoma yet but so far I stan. Unfortunately for you, both of my parents are psychiatrists, I’ve heard about your kind my entire life.”

“Right, you’re Utsushimi Camie and Yoarashi Inasa.” He sidetracked, “you did remedial lessons with Kaachan.”

“Where are the journals Midoriya.” Todoroki cut in, intent on keeping them on topic, “we need to see what’s inside.”

“My hero analysis journals?” He asked, curiously, “those are kind of private. They have all my notes in them.”

The class behind them seemed to be losing patience by the second, making their presence known beside the teen, as if they were trying to intimidate the small group going against them.

“They’re private because they say how my skin feels, and all the times that I rejected your advances.” Bakugou hissed, his eyes narrowing.

He looked like a pot that was about to roll over and burn.

“How about the one with my sleep schedule, or how narrow my waist is? That was in journal number 6 right? It’s next to the one when it says at what distance I can’t quite hear what someone is saying anymore.” He shook where he stood, “Does it still say 20 feet or have you realized yet that that’s changed. What about the fact that half of journal 2 is made up of tallies for every time I’ve said the word ‘no’ to you.”

HIs friends started to make a protective barrier around him, as Midoriya just continued to smile at him with pity.

“How about the entry of ways you want to ‘fix me’!” He yelled.

“Kaachan, it’s okay.” Midoriya cooed slowly, “I understand you need attention on you, but there’s better ways to do that.”

Bakugou’s eyes widened as he was easily brushed off by him; like usual when it came to trying to break free of him.

“You and I both know there’s nothing like that in any of my journals.” He finished, getting nods of approval from his classmates.

The sense of control that he finally felt from today was slowly starting to slip away. He grasped for it desperately, he never wanted to feel powerless ever again.

“STOP LYING!” Bakugou screamed, shocking everyone in the room to attention again.

“Kaachan, calm down.” Midoriya stated softly, giving him a small smile, “you’re getting hysterical.”

“Bakugou, for the love of God.” Kirishima groaned, “just leave the dude alone.”

The blondes eyes were fixated on the green haired teen as a sense of hollowness but sharp bitterness took over. The encounter made him nervous and angry, perfect for the solution he had just concocted. He raised his hand slowly to his head, sweat visibly dripping from his palm. He slid it over half of his face, covering one eye and threading through his hair. “Kaachan, what are you doing?” Midoriya asked, panic in his voice.

“I’ll destroy it.” He stated simply, his voice eerie and empty.

The classes eyes collectively widened in shock. “I’ll destroy the ‘pretty face’ that you love so much, if you don’t tell them the truth.” He threatened.

He was so calm it freaked out everyone in the room. This was his last resort to finally break free. There were multiple shouts of “you’re crazy” and the like from his classmates but he kept his one uncovered eye completely trained on the stalker before him. The green haired boy was running an infinite amount of plans in his head, but none of them were getting the results he desired; and he ALWAYS got what he wanted.

“Kaachan, you can’t be serious.” Midoriya finally said, nervously glancing around.

“Stop acting foolish.” Iida piped up, only getting Bakugou to visibly heat up his hand.

“SHUT UP!” Midoriya screamed, whirling around to the class representative, “BE QUIET!”

The classes eyes widened, snapping their mouths shut. He slowly turned back to Bakugou, his smile wider and out of place.

“You got me.” He chuckled finally, “I love how smart you are Kaachan. Even I didn’t expect this.”

The lot of them recoiled as he seemed to shake off his old persona.

“Now take that hand away from your face before you do damage.” He demanded.

“He was telling the truth?” Kirishima asked, his body language conveying his disbelief, “you.. did all that to him?”

The green electricity of his quirk crackled around his body, catching everyone off guard.

“It’s the least I could do for him.” Midoriya stated, moving faster than anyone could manage to grab the blondes face in his hands, “he needs someone to guide him. To make sure he’s as perfect as he can be; and I should be the one to do it.”

“Get away from him!” Camie yelled, kicking him backwards although her kick didn’t connect.

“You’ve surrounded yourself with inferior beings.” Midoriya spat, directing the statement to Bakugou.

“Don’t talk about them like that!” He snapped back shakily, wiping roughly at his face where he was touched.

“I will be getting Mr. Aizawa to deal with the situation!” Iida announced, going towards the door.

“Are you just trying to make me angry.” Midoriya stated with a growl, plummeting the temperature of the room.

He glided around the room, coming to a stop at the front doors. “My fun is done here anyways,” He stated, with his new signature grin.

It felt as if they were back in Kamino with All for One hovering a few feet away from them. No one dared to move less they get destroyed.

“I’ll be back for you later Kaachan.”

The door swung open and shut again. The blonde slumped to the ground as Camie called his name.

“He’s gone,” she whispered, “it’s okay.”

“It’s not okay,” He whispered himself, “he’ll be back.”

No one saw when Inasa and Todoroki disappeared in the midst of the confrontation to swipe the journals like they had originally planned, but their entrance back into the common room was the jolt they needed to get everyone moving again. The teachers were called in as everyone poured over his notebooks. There were details in there about himself that no one was ever supposed to see, and information that he never even knew about himself. He was questioned by so many people that his memory started to blur between interviews. Camie and Inasa were granted temporary passes to allow him to process and cope with his new situation. He sat silently at the kitchen table as he watched his friends trying to make him a simple meal.

“Bakugou, can we talk to you for a minute?”

He glanced to his right seeing his old friend group. They all looked exhausted and sorrowful. He stayed silent, just staring.

“We’re sorry for the way we acted.” Mina started.

“We didn’t know how to act with the information that we learned and we fucked up.” Kaminari added, Sero nodding in agreement.

“Then why didn’t you listen to me when I tried to explain myself?” He asked, his voice empty; so different than they were used to. His eyes kept trained on the kitchen, watching his real friends’ antics. Monoma caught his stare with a quizzical glance between Bakugou and the ex-Bakusquad.

“What he said just seemed so true.” Kirishima tried.

“So, you had an opinion about me and when something matched your idea of what I would do you accept it?” He stated, finally staring fully at the group, “I understand more than anyone how manipulative that bastard is but that doesn’t excuse the fact that you guys were MY friends, not his. I trusted you and you ditched me in less than a second. I’ll never be able to trust you again.”

The squad guilty looked away from him, not sure how to proceed.

“Coming through!” Camie announced loudly, setting dishes of food down on the table, followed by the other three.

They sat down ready to dig in, until they noticed that the squad still stood there awkwardly.

“Yo clout chasers,” Camie snapped, “get lost before I go off like a Karen in Starbucks. I’m not playing games periodt.”

They scrambled off pretty quickly after that save for Kirishima who followed after some hesitation.

“And that’s on toxic friends.” Todoroki finished with a snap of his fingers.

“Will I be able to understand this soon?” Monoma asked hopefully.

“It’ll grows inside you like a disease soon enough.” Inasa replied, clapping him on the shoulder with a wide smile. They dug into their food, laughing as Camie tried to explain to him slang terms from tik tok and social media. Bakugou grinned throwing up a peace sign for Camie’s snap chat as he leaned over into Inasa so they both could fit.

Green eyes stared from the other side of the glass.

Notes:

I hope you liked it! As I was writing the ending I took it in a completely different direction because I thought of a good plot for a second part. So I might do that!

Quick update Dec 30th: I'm working on the next chapter for 'I'll Always Find You'. Sorry it's taking so long but I went over this chapter again just to familiarize myself and I couldn't stop thinking about this scene it's easily one of my favourite scenes that I've written. Therefore, I drew something for it! Don't worry! I'll be getting right back to writing after I post the drawing on my instagram and tumblr.
