Chapter Text
The music booms as you stand near the small refreshments table, just finishing a conversation with someone you probably knew back in the day. As they walk away you decide to take your cup full of, likely spiked, punch to the gyms exit. You leave the already lighted area and the ceiling lights begin to flicker on one by one when you come closer.
You walk through the quiet halls of your high school. It had been years since you graduated but it still feels like yesterday that you were rushing from class to class. The sound of your footsteps echo and clack against the walls only to reverberate in your ears rhythmically. Somewhere in the distance you can hear the soft music coming from the gym, the ecstatic alumni partying and conversing loudly enough to be heard from miles away. You look at the posters on the walls as you progress, no specific destination in mind for your stroll.
Suddenly, and quite loudly, an ear piercing metallic sound resonates from somewhere behind you making you jump and spill your drink a little. A small snicker comes from the same direction as you glance to see someone else who supposedly slipped away from the crowd.
"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you," he says trying to hide his smirk "I forgot how loud these lockers were"
You recognize him from magazines you had seen in passing, you recall maybe reading an article about him or seeing him in the news at some point but you can't pinpoint where or why. His messy blue hair matches his lazy half lidded eyes that seem to draw you in like they're focused on anything but the present moment.
"Don't worry about it, I was just a little surprised" You laugh a little at your exaggerated reaction as you wave your hand in a dismissive gesture, turning to face him the rest of the way. "What are you doing out here anyways?"
He looks at you with a small eyebrow raised, just barely enough to notice "I could ask the same thing. I wanted a break from all the idle chitchat though. I'm not the biggest fan of crowds" He yawns in an almost cartoonish way, his head tilts back and his hair shifts a little as he closes his eyes tightly.
You struggle to follow with conversation, instead half ranting about your disappointment with the so called reunion "Same here. I don't remember or recognize as many people that came as I had hoped. I guess the nostalgia is played up a lot more in movies, the people part at least. Seeing the school again is pretty nice though" You nervously fidget with your cup rather than staring at the handsome stranger as you speak.
"It's definitely not as exciting as it is in movies" he shrugs with his hands in his pockets as he approaches you. He glances down at your outfit which has a small amount of punch spilled on it from the beginning of the encounter. "Wanna go somewhere and take care of that before it stains?"
The cup fails to keep your attention away from him completely. Despite your best efforts the sound of his soft voice up close along with the strong and pleasant smell he carries force you to look up at him. "I would but I don't even know your name"
He looks surprised for a fraction of a second before reverting to his calm and confident demeanor "I'm Tadano but I don't recall you mentioning your name yet either" he says slouching down to almost your height.
You blush a little managing to pull your gaze to one of the posters you were looking at before as you mutter your name. He smirks at your shy demeanor obviously humored by your lack of eye contact "So now that we're not strangers do you want some help with that mess?" you can't help but smile a little as he pulls his hand out of his pocket and presents it to you nonchalantly.
"I don't make a habit of following guys I just met but since it is your fault I suppose I won't object" you quip as you take his hand hesitantly despite the confidence in your words.
With your hand now in his he leads you to the schools back exit. It opens up to a second parking lot, this one with many less cars than the one you had parked in. Among the cars you spotted a black limo that, to your surprise, he briskly walked the two of you to. Tadano opens the door and holds it for you "Enio I'm home, say hello to our guest"
You look inside ready to greet the other person you assum to be in the car. Instead you're greeted by what appears to be a robot mounted to the roof "hello, I am Enio"
"H-hey" you manage to stutter out fully entering the car and sitting down on the long seat next to the door. You take this moment to look at your surroundings as Tadano follows behind before sitting next to you and closing the door. The limo is slightly cluttered, papers on the floor, computer desks and other car seat. The computer screens give a soft glow to the room and reflect brightly off of Tadano's blue hair and eyes, some how making him even more attractive in the low lighting. You find your train of thought slowly becomming more about him than the limo. You feel like you've been looking at him for longer than you should but it almost doesn't matter.
"Enio is an AI I programmed," You're snapped out of your thoughts by Tadano's voice "he's the one who actually drives"
"Oh cool, so he's like a driving assistant that can auto pilot your car?" You manage to reply looking up at the AI as a distraction from Tadano.
"Exactly, he does more than just that though. One day he'll make life a lot easier on everyone with all the things he can do. I don't want to get too into it though, not while we still have to take care of the task at hand." He nods to your punch spill that you'd almost forgotten about at this point.
"Right! So where are we going?" You look down at the spot on your outfit then up at him.
He holds his hand to his mouth thinking for a minute before speaking up "Enio take us to the best restaurant near a laundromat"
