“I can’t believe you, of all people, enjoy watching Hallmark movies, Bakugou.” Uraraka said as the two hero course students walked through a crowded mall in search of decorations for the New Year’s party 1-A was going to have in Heights Alliance later that day.
“Auntie Inko and Deku love watching them, and she’d always invite my parents and I over every New Year’s to marathon them. The movies tend to grow on you after a while, like a fungus.” Bakugou responded while looking around for the store that his parents recommended they get decorations from after they’d heard from Inko that 1-A was having a New Year’s Eve party.
About ten minutes later, the duo finally found the store, and began searching through it’s wide variety of decorations for things they thought their classmates would like. In the hour they spent looking through the shop, Bakugou and Uraraka had picked out an All Might themed christmas tree topper, a set of fairy lights designed to look like various heroes’s logos, an unholy amount of tinsel, and a box Uraraka refused to show the explosive blond, citing it was a surprise for later that everyone was going to like.
“Auntie Inko said she and my parents first started talking to each other because she tore into a guy trashing the Hallmark movies about how he should stop ruining people’s pastimes and actually find one of his own that wasn’t being a shitty asshole of some sort to people.” The ornery blond said as they were walking back to UA with the bags of decorations.
“Deku’s mom sure does sound awesome, I can see where you two got it from!” Uraraka replied cheerfully, with Bakugou frowning slightly speeding up, but not fast enough to force Uraraka to speed up since she had been leading the way back to the school.
“Aww come on, there’s no need to be grumpy about it, from what it sounds like you really care about her, considering how you call her Auntie, and based on what I’ve heard from Deku, you and him spent a lot of time at each other's' houses as kids” The girl said, lightly bumping the boy beside her with her shoulder, waiting for his response. After a delay Bakugou found the words he was looking for and replied.
“It’s not that I don’t care about her, it’s that I don’t care for people, it’s that I don’t want people nosing about in my personal life!”
The girl winced, realizing it was kind of rude to pry into his life like that.
“Sorry Bakugou!”
They continued on their way back to UA, returning about two hours after they’d left. Dropping the bags in the entrance of Heights Alliance, Uraraka waved towards Mina and Sero, motioning to them to come over and help with the bags.
“How is the preparation for later here at UA?” Uraraka asked Mina as she and the pink haired girl carried the bags into the living room of the 1-A dorms.
“Everything’s going fine! Deku, Kirishima, and Satou said they’d be back with the food in about half an hour, which is plenty of time for Bakubro to set up in the kitchen!”
Having arrived in the living room, they began handing off the decorations to Iida, who was responsible for coordinating the decorations alongside Yaomomo.
“Thank you Uraraka and Bakugou for your invaluable assistance! This party would undoubtedly have suffered without you two going out to get the decorations Kaminari and Sero forgot to purchase before they left the mall yesterday!” Iida shouted which caused Sero and the aforementioned blond to sulk.
“It’s not my fault Kaminari distracted me by saying we should check out what the food court has! You know I’ve got a weakness for peanuts!” Sero cried.
“Irregardless of your favorite foods, the two of you had a job that you were supposed to do, one that the two of you failed utterly at doing.” Their class president replied. Uraraka and Ashido could only watch and quietly laugh at the exchange.
“What matters is we got the decorations, as well as something I thought we as a class could take a look at when the party seems to be winding down, something I’m sure both Deku and Bakugou are going to like.” The brunette girl said with an impish grin, pulling out the box set of Hallmark movies she’d found at the store. Upon seeing what she was holding, Mina started cackling and called out to Bakugou.
“I didn’t know you liked Hallmark movies Bakugou! You should’ve said something!”
The explosive blond whirled around, spotting the case of movies.
“You’re dead Round Face!”
