Dad of three!

Summary:

Katie Russell is pregnant but also terminally ill. Katie dies and Owen is left to raise his triplets, Katie, Maya, and Jamie Harper, all by his self. Can he cope?

Chapter 1: Pregnant

Katie is seven months pregnant and her and Owen are at a doctors appointment. Katie is terminally ill.
"Do you want to know their genders?" The doctor asked
"I don't but Ka... Hold up, did you just say 'their genders' as in more than one?" Owns asked.
"Yes, didn't you know? You're having triplets, congrats. Do you want to know the genders?"
"Owen please, we don't know how long I have left. If the babies do t make it, I want you to be able to mourn them. Yes we would like to know pleas." Katie replied to the doctor.
"Congratulations, you're having two girls and a boy." The Doctor said, gleefully,but also confused.
"Alright, well there's one name, Katie." Owen said, he genuinely wanted a baby Katie.
"Do we have to? I don't want a baby named after me as long as I live." Katie said.
"Ok then. If you live we won't call her Katie which means that hopefully we need two more names. But hopefully you will live, but if you don't make it, I wanna name one after you. Ok?" "Ok, I have a name in mind." "Yes?" "Can we name one of them Jamie please? I always wanted it wether a boy or a girl. We could use that for the boy and each have a girl name. If I die, you use my name and the one I pick, if I live we use the other name you picked an the one I picked. Deal?" Katie was very persuasive so she got what she wanted. "Deal."

Chapter 2: Name picking

Summary:

I know this is a short chapter but this is the chapter where they come up with a name each for their daughter. If Katie dies then they will be called Katie and whatever name Katie picked. If she lives then they will be called both of their options.

It was two weeks after Owen and Katie found out they was having triplets. It was amonth until their wedding so they was really planning now. But they still needed to pick names for their daughters.
"Do you have a name picked yet, Ow?" Katie asked, finally having picked a name for herself and hoping Owen had picked one by now.
"Actually yes, I do have a name for one of our daughters." Owen replied, excited to tell eachother the names of their daughters (hopefully both will be used, and Katie would make it).
"Ok, so whats your name then?" Katie asked Owen, excitedly.
"Well, my name for our future daughter, that will hopefully be used, is, and I hope yopu like it, it's Maci. Do you like it?" Owen said,hoping she liked the name as thats the only name he had.
"I love it Ow, it's perfect for our daughter. My name I picked is Maya. Do you like it?" Katie asked, excited that they had their childrens names
"Kate, it's perfect. I love it." Owen said and they was both so happy. "Now lets plan this wedding, eh?" and with that they got on with sorting out who is sitting where at their wedding.

Notes:

Just so you know, whenever it says 'Ow' that is just Katie saying her nickname for Owen which is pronounced 'Oh' but I just speltt it like ow cos I didnt think. I dont know if Katie would hjave actualy called him that, but she does now aha. Hope you enjoy this short chapter XD

Chapter 3: The Birth

Summary:

Katie and Owen are apart for the night, the night before the wedding. Anything could happen. Anything will happen, knowing their luck...

Notes:

I liked and hated writing this knew because it is so sad and I genuinely feel bad for Owen in this chapter. I realy hope you enjoy this chapter XD

It was a month later and Katie was two weeks from due to have her children. It was their wedding day tomorrow so things were all sorted. Owen wasn't allowed to see Katie before the wedding, so Katie was at home, with her friend Melissa and Owen stayed with his mates. He always made sure he had his phone charged and on in case of emergencies and he never knew, anything could happen. He was chilling with his mates (Danny, Johnny, and Lucas) and Johnny went to get some beers. Owen decided to go help him, and he left his phone. It started ringing. It was Melissa. Danny went and took Owennhis phone with Lucy's and all three men listened to the conversation.
"Hey, Owen?"
"Mel, whats wrong, is Katie alright?"
"Owen, I think she is dying." Mel said sadly. Owen dropped his phone and sunk to the ground. She was dying. Then he thought...
"What about the triplets aswell?"
"Well, I should take her to hospital, tell them I think she is dying and that she's pregnant and they be able to do something to help, save the babies at least."
"Fine, well I'm coming too."
"Alright, meet us at the hospital."
And then she hung up. Owen looked pale, he looked like he was ill and had seen a ghost. Katie was his life and now he has found out that the day before their wedding, she's going to die. He couldn't cope. He was trembling and sweating.
"Mate, do you want one of us to take you? Because you clearly can't like this."
"Thanks mate, I just can't believe it." Owen sounds like he was wounded. It was awful. Johnny drove the men to hospital and they all got out and went and found her, she was heavily sedated and they were saving the babies, c section. But Katie looked so calm yet so dead just lying there. He couldn't bare to see her like that, couldn't.
"Come in mate, you need to sit down. They will call you in when they are ready, yeah?"
"Yeah." Owen said wearily before being guided out by his supportive friends to meet Melissa in the waiting room and wait.

About half an hour later, the doctor walks out. He looks happy and sad for Owen.
"I have good news and bad news, first?"
"Well, I could guess but good I guess."
"Well  the good news is that all three of tour babies are alive. The bad news, actually I have two bad news. Bad news one is that the babies are all in intensive care as they are two weeks premature, they can't breathe for themselves, but they WILL live. Bad news two, I am so sorry for your loss, Katie died. Not during birth, afterwards. She suffered some kind of stroke which killed her. I'm sorry." He left. Owen just collapsed to the floor, hysterically crying his eyes out. His fiancee died the day before their wedding, and the triplets were in ic and weren't allowed to be seen by him yet. He felt like dying, ending it all. But he couldn't do that to his newborn children. He died inside though.
"What are their names?" Johnny asked.
"Well one name i didn't want to have to use, Katie. Also Maya and Jamie." Owen said though the hysterical sobbing. What would he do? How could he raise three children on his own? How could he get through this without help?

I hope you liked that, I intend to have a new chapter hopefully by tomorrow, but I am going on holiday next week so I might not wrote then, though I probaly will at night.

Chapter 4: The Aftermath

I knownrhis one is short, but it wasn't when I was writing it. I hope you enjoy it XD

It had been two weeks since the triplets were born and Katie tragically died. The triplets had just been released from hospital, fine to come home with Owen. But he hadn't done any preparation, he had been just sleeping and depressed the whole week. He had five hours to baby proof the whole house and get the rooms all ready. The boys had come back, and had been trying to help, so it wasn't too much to do. They all had set jobs and were sticking to them. The house would be ready on time. And the boys had agreed they would help when they were off work. Owen was indefinitely of work, he had been fired for no reason but he took that and accepted it, now he could spend time with the triplets. Katie had life insurance so it covered some costs for the kids. Secretly, Owen missed working. But he knew he couldn't go back to being a Doctor anyway, knowing he was unable to save his own fiancee. He wanted a new job. But what could he do with triplets? He did want to find a new job though, he just didn't know what he wanted to do...

Chapter 5: The Job Offer

It had been two more months, and Owen and the boys were doing great between the four of them to raise Katie, Maya and Jamie Harper. It was Owen turn to go out, even just for a walk, he just needed out. He decided to visit Katie's gravestone, just to see her and talk to her. He did it daily.
"Hey Katie. It's been two months now. I'm not going to lie, it's been really hard without you. The triplets have come home now, and me and the boys are looking after them. I wish you could be here, to help. But we can cope, I promise. I'm gonna make you proud of me, my love. See you later." Just then he saw him, a man. He was wearing an old military coat and looked, as Owen thought, quite sexy and fuckable. The mysterious figure approached Owen and Owen was a little scared, turned on and confused. He was at eye level now. "Hey there, Captain Jack Hackness. And you are Doctor Owen Harper, enchante." And he kissed Owen's hand, whilst the young doctor just stood there befuddled. "What the hell? How the fuck do you know me?" Owen was scared by the charming man now, as he knew who he was somehow, even though they'd never met. "Look, it doesn't matter how I know you, but I do. And I know that your fiancee is dead and you have three new kids. I also know you were fired for no reason." Owen was now very scared to think he watched him. "Yes, I did her fired and I do have three kids, but do you want to do with it?" "Well, Owen. I'm here to offer you a job. In Cardiff. See what you're fiancee died of was and wasn't a brain tumor. It was an alien in her brain. At Torchwood we catch aloens for a living and I want you, a doctor, to join us. Help us out." Jack offered. "What? You catch aliens? And you want me to be an alien doctor?" Owen was shocked. He genuinely believed the mysterious Jack Harkness and thought that sounds awesome, but then  dad mode kicked in. "Hang on, I can't do that." "Why?" "For starters it's in Cardiff, my children's lives will be here. I have my three mates here helping me look after them. There at home with them now. Also that sounds kinda dangerous. I would be all over it if j hadn't had my kids, after all my fiancee has just died, but I can't risk my life with three children. They would be orphans if I died. I can't do that. I won't." Owen had decided. "Well, what if I told you you could just stay in and do the medicals?" Jack offered. "Absolutely no way, I want to go out and fight. But I can't." "You can, its safe. The last members to have died where all killed by the boss because he wasn't ready and wanted to save them,  and killed himself." "Why did he not kill you?" Owen was curious. But Jack wasn't gonna answer that. Jack left but had slipped his number in Owen's hand before leaving. Owen had to decide. He knew he wanted to  but he couldn't. But he couldn't stop thinking about it now...
