Chapter Text
Persephone Jackson felt like she could not breathe. They’ve been fighting for hours and the giants still haven’t shown up. And considering that the gods haven’t appeared to help them fight their battles, she couldn’t help but feel relieved.
Where the hades were they?
Fuck, her whole body was aching with pain and the headache she got a few minutes ago (probably due to dehydration) was not helping.
Her legs and arms could stop working any second. They were running out of time. Where were the gods? They did not risk their lives to travel all the way to Greece just so they could stay cuddled up on Olympus.
Percy was getting slower. She was tired. A glance at the battlefield showed that the rest of the seven were getting affected too.
The ground began to rumble. Percy forced herself to conserve any energy she had left.
The giants have finally arrived with another army of monsters. Percy hoped that this was going to be the final battle but it was unlikely.
After defeating the giants, they'll still have to fight Earth itself, Gaea.
Luckily for them, the gods have finally managed to grace them with their presence. Percy suddenly felt her energy rush back to her. She glanced up at the sky. It was raining.
While Percy was thankful for the water, it would probably do more harm than good during the battle. The demigods weren’t water-resistant like her.
As if knowing what she was thinking, her father snapped his fingers and suddenly the rest of the seven weren’t soaked with water anymore. It was still raining but the water just avoided them.
The demigods waited for the army to run up to them, wanting to conserve as much energy as they could before they realized that they weren’t as tired as they were before. They glanced at their respective parents in surprise, giving them a silent thank you before they got ready for the fight of their lives.
Percy was a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. It was like she had her Achilles Heel again, nothing could touch her. The rain continued to supply her with energy as well as giving her more power to use. She was playing a dangerous dance, her sword was slashing and stabbing monsters left and right, as she made a whirlpool of water and made it go the opposite direction she was heading, right where Hazel was.
Hazel sent her a thankful smile as they fought together, back to back as they made their way towards Annabeth.
Percy couldn’t help but be relieved when she saw the grey-eyed girl. Her wise girl was okay. Fighting next to Annabeth reminded Percy of the Titan War.
They survived that, so they have to survive this as well.
Percy sent another whirlpool of water in the direction that Piper was. “Remind me to thank your dad for the small boost of power he gave us.” she heard her girlfriend whisper.
Percy nodded, “But first we have to survive, okay?”
Annabeth nodded in agreement. “Okay.”
Jason flew down to where their group, holding Leo in his arms and Frank quickly followed, changing back to his human form.
The Seven were all back to back. Ready to defend each other’s blind spots.

Hazel snapped her fingers, making a majority of the monsters confused. This gave Piper the opportunity to charmspeak the monsters.
Her soft, angelic voice echoed through the battlefield, appealing to their enemy’s ears. “You don’t wanna fight us. You wanna leave the seven of us alone. Instead, you want to get revenge on the ones that have wronged you. Isn’t that why you sided with Earth? For revenge?”
Piper glanced at Hazel and Hazel nodded, closing her eyes in concentration as the snap of her finger seemed to echo in every monster’s mind.
It worked. A majority of the monsters were fighting each other. This gave us a moment to catch our breath.
Percy glanced up at the sky. Rain was still falling and the remaining monsters were soaked. She had an idea.
“Jason,” she whispered. “Shock them.”
His blue eyes looked at me with confusion before nodding, understanding what the demigoddess wanted him to do.
If there was one thing Percy learned during science class, it was that water and electricity do not go well together.
Jason’s sent a shockwave towards the final group of monsters heading out, causing them to evaporate in golden dust.
She glanced to where my father was. They were just standing there, watching us.
Did they not learn anything from the last war?
Did they even help other than agreeing to give the rest of the seven my father’s temporary blessing?
Percy felt the ground rumbling again. The giants have finally arrived.
She smelt the ocean next to me and knew that my father and his family had finally decided to help.
With the gods on their side, the demigods knew they wouldn’t lose this battle. Percy fought harder than she ever fought before. She matched the giant from toe to toe and after a few minutes, Percy finally got the opening she was looking for and slashed Polybotes’s chest with Riptide. She nodded at her dad as he held up his trident, sending a steaming, hot pressurized bolt of water in the place where Percy slashed him. Polybotes wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
She finally got a chance to look at the battlefield and she tried not to flinch in shock.
It wasn’t looking good. So far, Percy and her father were the only ones who’ve killed their respective giant.
Her father stood next to her, “So, who are we helping first?”
Percy tried not to look shocked at the fact that he was gonna stay in help and managed to steadily say, “Let’s help Athena and Annabeth first. With me and Annabeth fighting together, we can help Piper defeat Periboia. And if you and Lady Athena decide to stay, then all of us will be able to have a bigger chance of surviving.”
Percy turned away from her father so that she couldn’t see how her father reacted with her silent jab at him. Instead, she ran to where her girlfriend was, ready to help her fight Enceladus.
Percy tried to use the water to hold the giant’s legs so that Annabeth wouldn’t get stepped on.
The water was getting harder to control. She wouldn’t be able to hold it any longer. Suddenly, Percy noticed that she wasn't using up as much energy anymore. It was like the water had gotten easier in control.
She glanced up and saw her father with a confident glint in his eyes. She muttered a thank you and let the water she was controlling go, leaving her fate up to her dads.
Together, Annabeth and Percy charged. Percy lifted Annabeth with water so that the blonde girl could temporarily confuse the giant.
Thank gods, for Annnabeth’s aim. She managed to throw her new drakon-bone sword at his eye, making him stumble.
Her father let go of the water he was controlling, causing the Enceladus to fall on his butt. This gave Athena the opening to stab him right in the chest.
He exploded in golden dust.
She inspected the battlefield again and couldn’t help but sigh in relief. They were winning.
Leo and Hephaestus managed to defeat Otis by using fire to burn him alive.
That’s one less giant to worry about. Three down, three more to go.
She turned to her dad and Lady Athena, “Go help Jason and King Zeus, they’ll need all the help they can get when fighting Porphyrion. I’ll help Piper defeat Periboia.” She turned to Annabeth, “Go help Leo and Lord Hephaestus with Ephialtes.”
Annabeth nodded, “When this is over, you better be alive Seaweed Brain.”
Percy couldn’t help but give her girlfriend a small smile, one that she returned before running to where Leo was.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Athena disappear in a flurry of owls and saw her father dissolved in mist.
She took a deep breath and ran to help her sister in all but blood. Aphrodite was floating around them on a small white cloud, throwing rose petals in the giantess’s murky brown eyes effectively making her blind for a few seconds.
Percy blocked a strike that could’ve killed Piper, “Need a hand?”
Piper nodded, “Yes please.”
Aphrodite noticed Percy and yelled out some nice encouragement, “Kill this ugly dumpster wanna-be, girls.” Doves came from out of nowhere and clawed on the giantess, “I’m gonna need to wash my eyes with bleach after this battle. I’ve never seen anyone as hideous as her.”
The giantess growled in frustration, “WATCH WHAT YOU SAY, YOU LITTLE BIT-“
While the giantess yelled at Aphrodite, Percy and Piper slit the giantess’s stomach open with their respective weapon, leaving the bane of Aphrodite at the mercy of doves.
Percy noticed that there was only one more giant left to beat. The bane of Zeus, Porphyrion.
Percy was running out of energy. Luckily, every giant except one has been beaten.
Unluckily, it was the strongest giant.
Aphrodite flashed Piper and Percy on her cloud, allowing both Piper and Percy to catch their breaths for a few seconds.
While Zeus and Jason looked like they haven’t slept in a month, Porphyrion stood tall, looking like he just woke up from a nice nap.
“Oh gods,” Piper muttered worriedly, looking at Jason. “This isn’t good.”
Percy studied Jason more intently. He was covered in blood due to all the cuts he had all over him yet not a drop had fallen on the ground. Jason tried to stand tall but the giant only laughed. “This is the great son of Jupiter?” his words echoed through Percy’s skull. “Pathetic.”
Jason charged towards the giant but he only smacked the blue-eyed boy away. Before Jason could hit the ruins, Percy raised her hand, cushioning his fall with the water.
Zeus looked at her with gratitude and while having her a subtle nod.
Percy jumped off the cloud, allowing the wind to carry her next to her uncle and as if they rehearsed it, they charged.
The rest followed. Athena and Annabeth were distracting the giants as Aphrodite summoned more doves to claw the giant. When she deemed that there were enough doves, she threw rose petals at the giant’s eyes. Trying to get him temporarily blinded.
Percy stared at the giant's feet and yelled to her father, “HIS FEET, WRAP IT IN WATER.”
Poseidon followed her instructions and she turned to Zeus. “Throw a lightning bolt and aim it on the water. That should shock him for a few minutes and that’s enough time for us to kill him.”
Her uncle nodded, pointing a finger at the giant's feet. Porphyrion groaned in pain as the demigods charged.
But of course, something had to go wrong. As they charged, Porphyrion somehow got enough energy to throw a broken piece of a building towards them. Percy dodged it but Hazel wasn’t as lucky.
It was silent for a few seconds before Hazel’s blood-curdling screams filled the air. Percy bit back a cry. A person that she could proudly call her younger sister was gone.
Blinded by anger, Frank turned to an eagle and flew with the speed that could make Hermes jealous.
But charging in like that was a mistake.
And Frank paid for it.
It didn’t matter how fast Frank tried to attack the giant. All Porphyrion had to do was hold his arm up, to catch Frank in his hand, and crush his fist, effectively breaking all of Frank’s bones and killing him in the process.
He slowly opened his crushed fist, as if teasing them. After a few torturous seconds, he dropped a pale, limp eagle as Frank’s blood dripped into the floor.
The ground rumbled. They haven’t been fighting Porphyrion for five minutes yet two people are already dead. And Gaea could awake at any second. She had the two sacrifices she needed. The blood of a male and female demigod.
It was like Percy’s brain was working against her. As she attacked the giant, the noises around her became muffled before quickly becoming inaudible. All Percy could hear were Hazel’s painful screams and the sound of Frank’s body being crushed.
It shouldn’t have been possible, Percy’s brain tried to argue. Frank couldn’t have died until his stick was nothing but ashes.
Percy quickly shook that thought out of her head. She can figure everything out when the bane of Zeus has been defeated.
Minutes have passed and Percy finally saw an opening. She mustered up all the energy she had left and made a giant slit on the giant's stomach, covering her with even more gold dust.
Without wasting another second, Poseidon sent a stream of pressurized water on the wound, causing Porphyrion to yell in frustration, “IF YOU END UP KILLING ME, I’LL TAKE AT LEAST ONE OF YOU WITH ME!”
From the corner of her eye, she noticed that Zeus was preparing to send a bolt of lightning to the giant but before the lightning hit Porphyrion, he reached out his arm, trying to grab the closest demigod next to him.
It felt like Percy was fighting Kronos again. Everything was in slow motion except for the moves of her enemy.
She began to run forward but her moves began to get sluggish. “NO!” Percy managed to yell, realizing who the giant had grabbed. “ANNABETH!”
It was too late. Annabeth let out a scream full of pain and it continuously echoed throughout Percy’s skull.
Porphyrion exploded in golden dust, forcing Annabeth’s body to slam against the rough concrete.
Percy quickly ran towards Annabeth’s motionless body, stumbling forward as she kneeled next. Her usual tanned skin was now sickly pale, covered with burns. Her stormy grey eyes seemed to tell Percy all the suffering that she went through.
She cradled as much of Annabeth’s body as she could, not being bothered with all the blood that Percy was exposing her tattered shirt to.
Annabeth was gone.
And she didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye.
Percy felt the ground shake underneath her. Before she forced herself to get up, Percy closed Annabeth’s eyes as a final sign of respect to her girlfriend.
Percy felt the ground shake again. Although this time it was more violent, knocking down the old temples.
Piper’s usual bright eyes were full of tears, causing Percy to realize that she was crying as well.
Percy turned to Leo who was wiping away any stray tear that left his eye. His cracked voice seemed to echo through Athena as he whispered, “There’s only four of us left. Piper needs to charmspeak her , I’m the fire. And,” His eyes drifted to Jason’s body. “You guys have to make the storm.”
“Where are the gods?”
Piper and Leo glanced at each other. “They left. Right after we defeated Porphyrion the gods vanished.”
“Like poof.” Leo sadly added.
They lost three of the best demigods of this generation by fighting against Porphyrion, how could the gods expect them to defeat Gaea with no help? Or at least without all the demigods dying in the process?
“Uhm- guys,” Piper’s voice snapped Percy out of her thoughts. “We better get ready.”
Leo and Percy turned to where Piper’s eyes were focusing. The dirt seemed like it was rising, forming the shape of a female.
“Gaea,” Percy whispered. “Do you guys remember the plan?”
They nodded hesitantly as they made their way to Jason’s body, which was still in a cocoon of water. Percy lifted her hand and slowly made the water evaporate.
Piper hesitated before she whispered a shaky, yet firm command. “Wake up!”
Jason’s eyes opened and he groaned, What happened?”
“She’s awake.” Percy ignored his question, “Do you remember the plan?”
Jason nodded, trying to stand up before he quickly fell again. “I can’t stand,” he whispered in shock.
Percy tried to stay strong. “It’s okay,” she tried to soothe. “When we win this, I’ll force Apollo to heal you.” Jason gave her a grateful grin, “Do you think you have enough energy to fly all of us up?”
Jason shook his head, “I only have enough energy to fly two people up and if I have to carry her up as well, then maybe I can carry one person.” He grimaced. “Although that might be pushing my luck.”
“That’s not good. And we know that gods chose to sit this battle out.” Percy let out an ear-piercing whistle before muttering a small, “Hopefully that’ll work.”
Two pegasi formed in front of them. “That’s never happened before,” Leo mentioned.
Percy nodded in agreement. The gods sent us, Blackjack transmitted in Percy’s head. They said the ancient laws forbid them from helping any more than they already did.
Percy forced herself not to roll her eyes. What a bunch of bullshit. Instead, she faced her friends, “Piper and I will take Blackjack. Leo, will you be alright with Spade?”
Leo turned to the white Pegasi and nodded. “Aye, aye ma’am.”
Percy and the others exchanged grins. Even in the most dire situation, you could count on Leo to make a joke. She turned to Jason. “Whatever you do, make sure she isn’t touching the ground.”
Jason nodded. “We got this. We can win.”
Percy didn’t know whether he was that confident in his abilities to win or if he was trying to convince himself.
It was probably the latter.
Percy turned to Piper who’s been quiet so far. “You ready?” she asked.
“Yep.” Piper played with her torn shirt, “It’s just a lot of pressure.”
Percy understood what she meant. So she grabbed Piper and Leo’s arm, tugging them closer to Jason and herself. “Group hug.” Her voice was hoarse and it cracked. She was thankful that they ignored it and just melted into the hug. “I love you guys.” She reminded them. “I’m so lucky that I got to meet all of you.”
One by one, the rest of them repeated her gesture. Deep down, they all knew that this was their way of saying goodbye. Just in case they didn’t make it out.
Percy helped Piper up on Blackjack and she gave Jason a final glance before instructing her pegasi to fly to where Gaea resided.
On the mound of dirt, Percy saw a figure standing.
Gaea had such delicate features on her face that it would’ve made her seem innocent. She had honey brown hair that framed her face, bringing out her dangerous green eyes.
Her voice was sickly sweet as she said, “I’ve been waiting for you.”
“Yeah, well. We’re here.” Percy heard Leo sarcastically say, “So, you ready to lose?”
“Leo Valdez.”
“That’s my name.” Leo cheekily grinned, “Don’t wear it out.”
Gaea continued like she didn’t hear the elfish boy, “Out of everyone who died today, I’m surprised you’re still alive.”
Even though Percy knew Leo was trying not to let that bother him, it did. And from the smirk on Gaea’s face, she knew it as well.
Before things could further escalate, Percy yelled “NOW!”
The winds around them picked up forcing the pegasi to fly higher, in order to not get caught.
Percy felt the winds twisting around, forming a tornado underneath the primordial.
Leo tried to distract Gaea by hurling insults at her. “HEY POTTY SLUDGE, OVER HERE!”
The goddess ignored Leo until Piper finally spoke up, her kaleidoscope eyes glowing. “Gaea,” her voice was commanding. “You want to listen to me .”
“SILENCE!”
“You are weary .” Piper’s voice was full of sympathy, “You are so, so tired .”
“LIES!” Gaea yelled.
Leo gave up on insulting the goddess, instead threw fire at the goddess. Distracting her from the tornado forming below her feet.
With Gaea’s attention on Leo, Percy began to assist Jason in lifting Gaea higher. She summoned water, slowly adding it to his hurricane.
Gaea began to rise higher. And they followed.
“YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME.” Gaea’s form turned to dirt but the water that Percy added caught it before it reached the ground. Seemingly giving up on trying to go through the water, Gaea re-formed back to a human. “I AM ETERNAL!” she cried
“ETERNALLY ANNOYING!” Leo yelled as he urged Spade higher.
“Get me closer.” Piper urged Percy, “I need to be next to her.”
“The fire and the wind-“ Percy tried to argue.
“I know.”
Percy sighed knowing there was no talking Piper out of this as she moved in until they were right next to Gaea.
“FOOLISH DEMIGODS!” her face contorted into Annabeth, causing both Piper and Percy to hesitate for a brief second.
“Millennia of sorrow.” Piper told the goddess, her voice dripping with pity, “Your husband, he was abusive wasn’t he?”
The goddess started to nod before stopping when she noticed what she was doing, “LIES!”
Piper continued, seemingly unfazed. “You know, you did the right thing.” Gaea turned to Piper shocked, stopping all her attacks. “Cutting him into tiny pieces so that he can never hurt you again. After all, you just wanted to keep your kids safe, right?”
Percy’s eyes met Leo’s. She concentrated, forcing rain to slowly fall from the sky again. Percy made sure not to let the rain touch Gaea so that all her attention would stay on Piper.
Leo’s eyes were tight shut and Percy felt the air becoming warm. You could still hear the rain hitting the pavement in the background. Put together, the two of them just made the atmosphere perfect for sleeping.
Everything was relying on Piper now.
“All that pain . All that suffering .” Piper’s voice was soothing. “It’s no wonder you’re so tired.”
Gaea snapped out of the trance she was in. “I-YOU DO NOT-“
Piper pretended not to hear her and continued. “You want one thing.” Piper’s words made Percy’s bone shake, “Just one small thing. You’re just so tired of all the stupid and arrogant gods and demigods getting in the way.” Piper lowered her voice. As if telling the goddess a secret, “YOU—WANT—SLEEP.”
“NO!” the goddess groaned. “NO!”
Before Gaea’s body went limp, she held out her arm.
Piper quickly turned to Percy, “We only have a few minutes. My charmspeak won’t- AGHHH”
A thorny vine was creeping up Piper’s leg, trying to drag her down.
“Piper!” Percy screamed, “Give me your hand.”
“I- It’s too late.” Piper gasped in pain, the thorns twisted their way into her leg.
“No, it’s not.” Percy tried to argue, grasping Piper’s hand tighter.“ We can’t lose you too.” she turned to Leo. “Can you try to burn the vine?”
Even from afar, Percy could see Leo’s eyes tearing up. “No.” He whispered. “If I do, I might burn up her whole body.”
“Percy.” her attention went back to one of her closest friends. “Let me go.”
Percy felt the tears falling from her eyes as she shook her head. “NO!” she cried. “I can't! Not you too.”
Piper’s eyes were filled with determination as they met hers. “Don’t let our sacrifices go to waste.” She took in a deep breath. “Percy, let me go.”
Without hesitation, she let go. When Percy realized what happened, she tried to reach for Piper’s hand.
But it was too late.
That’s when she noticed Jason flying towards his girlfriend.
He could save her.
Jason forced the winds to carry his body to Piper’s. He managed to grab onto her waist, but the winds failed him and gave the vines a chance to wrap their thorns around him as well. They held onto each other as the thorns twisted into their body, tearing them into shreds.
“No.” Percy said in disbelief, “No!”
She felt Leo fly next to her. “Come on, Percy.” He gently urged. “We still have to defeat her. Piper’s right. We can’t let their deaths be in vain.”
Percy could only nod, she turned to Leo. He looked like he was made of fire. Realizing what he was about to do, she grabbed his arm. Not caring that it might burn her. “Leo, you can’t.” her voice was cracking, “You can’t leave me.”
“I’m sorry, Percy.” He patted Blackjack. “Make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid, okay?”
I’ll try. She heard Blackjack’s voice in her head.
“I’m sorry, Perce.” he gave her a regretful smile. “Just make sure to keep her in the air and trust me.”
Without another glance, Leo threw himself onto the unsuspecting goddess.
Blackjack tried to fly as far away as he could but as soon as Percy heard a high-pitched scream, she used all her leftover energy and dissolved her body into mist.
Gaea began to brightly glow so Percy grabbed Leo’s arm, covered his eyes, and vapor traveled them out before the primordial could explode in golden light.
Leo woke up and slowly stood as he tried to get rid of as much dust and ash as he could. He stumbled forward to the silent battlefield.
As Leo looked around, he finally noticed how bloody everything was. It felt like he crashed onto a cemented wall as his memories from the battle came flooding back.
Oh gods, he wanted to cry. They’re dead. They’re all gone.
Except for Percy. His mind argued. The two of them were the only ones left.
“PERCY!” he shouted. “ARE YOU HERE?” Leo continued to walk, his scratchy voice cutting the silence that the former battlefield was just enveloped in. “PERCY!”
A few minutes passed and Leo started to lose hope.
What if she’s dead? his mind whispered.
Stop it. He tried to argue, he couldn’t think like that.
Why? His head continued to taunt. If she’s dead, it’s gonna be all your fault. She saved you. She’s only dead because she saved you.
“No, no, no,” Leo whispered, pulling his hair. “NO! Stop it.” He screamed. “It’s not my fault.”
“Deep breaths.” He heard a familiar voice whisper. “In and out.”
He followed the voice's directions and his eyesight cleared up. “Percy!” he practically flew to her in order to give her a hug. “You’re okay,” he assured himself. “You’re okay.”
“Yeah, but...” her voice trailed off and Leo noticed that she was holding something or rather someone . “He’s not.”
Percy was holding a deformed eagle. Its whole body was crushed, “Is that Frank?” He couldn’t believe it, “How is he still alive?”
“His stick.” Percy reminded him. “It didn’t burn.” no one said anything for a while. “Leo,” Percy’s voice faltered. “There’s only three of us left alive.”
“Yeah?” Leo questioned, thinking that it was obvious.
“No, I mean-“ Percy stammered, “A few years ago, Chiron told me that the number three was sacred to the Greek world.”
Leo suddenly understood what she was implying. The three of them alive marked the end of their quest.
They won. But at what cost?
All of a sudden, a small stick- the size of his pinky finger appeared in Percy’s hand. It seems that even the gods pitied the son of Mars.
He watched as her eyes stared at the only thing keeping Frank alive, contemplating what to do.
They didn’t want Frank to go.
He was the only other person who understood what the both of them went through.
They were the last three demigods who survived Gaea but looking at him, Leo knew it would be selfish to keep Frank alive. Every bone he had was crushed.
He spent the last few hours of his life in so much pain. And there was nothing he could do. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t talk. Nothing. The least they could do was take him out of his misery.
Leo knew that Percy realized that as well when she hesitantly handed the stick to Leo, “Do it.”
And Leo did.
They could only watch as both the stick and their friend disintegrated into ashes.
Frank didn’t die in the hands of their enemy. Instead, he gladly died in the hands of the last, two trusted members of the seven.
As Percy and Leo watched Frank’s ashes disappear into the wind, they hoped that the souls of each demigod that died in this war made it to Elysium, where they can live in peace. They deserved it.
They said nothing for a while. The air was filled with a comfortable silence as they figured out what to do next.
“Do you have enough energy to get us back to the Argo II?” Leo abruptly asked.
“I think so.” Percy’s voice sounded so tired that Leo regretted asking her. After all, she did most of the heavy lifting in their fight against the giants. It was honestly scary. She fought with the precision of a goddess, it didn’t help that she had the looks of one as well. “Hold on tight.”
Leo felt his body dissolve before getting back together again. His mind felt dizzy as his feet touched the solid ground.
When his head cleared up, he noticed the familiar walls of his ship. He couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
It was all over.
Percy moved near him, “What are you gonna do now?”
“I fixed Festus and I plan on using him to find Calypso. She’s on an island called-“
“Ogygia.” Percy frowned, “I met her once but after the second titan war, I used one of my wishes to get her free.”
“The gods suck.” Leo bluntly stated, “After the last giant was defeated they disappeared. Athena didn’t even check on Annabeth!” Percy nodded, “They did the bare necessity and then they left without even a goodbye.”
“You’re right,” she whispered. “If you find Calypso, tell her I said that I was sorry. I really believed that the gods let her free.”
“She’ll forgive you.” He assured, “And it’s not your fault anyway. And Percy?” She faced him, “I’m probably not gonna go back to camp. There are just too many memories and I can’t handle that right now.”
Percy nodded in agreement. “I get what you mean. I just want a break from the godly world. I don’t want to see any mythological creatures again. And if we head back to camp, the gods are just gonna give us another quest.”
They shared a look of agreement. There was always another quest.
“I don’t want to stay here any longer than I have to, so let’s just try to make ourselves look as presentable as possible. Then we can head on our separate ways.” He advised.
Percy closed the distance between them and gave him another hug. This wasn’t goodbye, they would see each other again. “Make sure you stay safe. If you ever need help, just IM me. It doesn’t matter if they’re watching, I’ll get there as soon as I can.”
Leo found himself saying “I will.” before they both went to their respective rooms.
Leo quickly grabbed his belongings, stopping in the Med Bay filling up a random backpack he found with all the supplies he needed.
He made sure that his belt was still on his waist and that it wasn’t loose. If worse came to worse, he could summon almost anything he needed.
With a final glance at the direction Percy went, Leo pressed a few buttons on the suitcase on his desk before throwing it out into the air.
“Come on, Festus!” Leo called out, “The faster we get out of here, the better.”
Festus lowered his body, giving Leo a chance to climb up. After making sure that all their supplies wouldn’t fall, Festus lifted them onto the sky, flying towards the unknown.
Notes:
I've been wanting to write a fem Percy crossover for a while, so I made one.
What do you think?
(Also, it might take a while for Percy and the Young Justice team to meet. But don’t worry, they will)
Chapter Text
Kaldur knew that something bad was happening that day. The ocean has been in distress for months. The waves were getting harsher and hurricanes were happening in places that normally didn’t happen
Kaldur guessed that Poseidon wasn’t in a good mood.
Before he began his work as Aqualad, he worshipped the gods above him.
He still does.
His king, Orin, was the son of one of the most powerful gods that existed in the Greek pantheon.
It was a closely kept secret to the mortal world that greek gods existed. It was also a secret that Aquaman himself was one as well. He was the son of the emperor and empress of seas, with special orders that allowed him to interfere with mortal lives.
The gods were at war.
Against who?
Kaldur didn’t know.
The gods kept it a tight secret.
When he asked Orin why the emperor was mad, all he replied with was that something big was happening.
His king should be out there, defending his immortal family as much as he could.
As much as he loved the team, he should be out there next to Aquaman, helping with whatever threat he was facing.
That was the whole reason his team formed the Young Justice team. It was so that they could prove to their mentors that they could handle everything that their mentors were facing.
But no matter how many missions they’ve accomplished, it felt like it was never enough.
Sometimes, Kaldur believed that Speedy, now named the Red Arrow, made the right choice on going solo.
The Justice League never told them anything. It made them feel useless. They were heroes, they couldn’t just sit around and wait for other people to save the world. That’s not what heroes do.
That was the reason that they decided to let Robin hack the system so that they could receive alerts as well. They were tired of the secrets their mentors kept.
They just wanted to know what was going on with the world.
Is that so bad?
To the team, hacking the Justice League system was justified. They were supposed to work together. But how can you work with someone when they barely trust you?
Plus, it wasn’t like they were running around with unsupervised or unapproved missions. They weren’t being unreasonable. They just wanted to help.
An alert was suddenly heard by everyone in the room. The sound came from Robin’s glove- it was a low riotous sound. The exact sound they programmed to play when the Justice League received an alert.
Robin quickly read the details, “This alert is insane!” The young boy sighed in disbelief as the sound continued to get more high-pitched. “Apparently something big is happening in Athens.”
“The one in Greece?” Wally asked, his interest peaked.
Artemis rolled her eyes. “Where else? The one in Vegas.”
Kaldur ignored them, instead, he turned all his focus on Robin.
He knew the story behind Athens pretty well. It was the beginning of the feud between Poseidon and Athena. A feud that he was pretty sure still lasted to this day.
“Okay, so there’s a bunch of earthquakes happening.” Robin continued to read, “Like the intense ones that cause the ground to split open. Apparently, you can hear explosions happening along with screaming. A lot of screaming.”
“Is that it?” Wally looked uninterested, “An earthquake and some screaming. Why would this alert be Justice League worthy?”
Robin shrugged. “I have no idea.” His eyes quickly turned mischievous, “Do you guys wanna check it out?”
It was Kaldur’s turn to step in. “We’re not going to check it out. If we show up and the League spots us, we could get in big trouble, causing them to trust us even less.”
His team ignored him.
Even Superboy and Megan were interested, wanting to know why a few earthquakes and explosions were enough to get the attention of the League. Normally, they would’ve sent the Young Justice team to investigate this, not go themselves.
“There’s nothing about this online.” Artemis acknowledged, “Which is weird because earthquakes and explosions happening in a city like Athens would normally be trending.”
That got Kaldur’s interest peaked. Would it be possible that the alert had something to do with what his mentor’s family was fighting?
Annoyed that they were being deprived of information again, the team decided to go to Athens and check out things for themselves.
After all, how could a few earthquakes and explosions be that big of a deal?
As soon as they arrived, they noticed that Athens was covered in a huge, thick, dark cloud of smoke. It made it impossible to see anything but a few feet.
The team made a silent choice to stick together, choosing Superboy to lead the way. Hoping he can help them navigate the smoke with his X-ray and enhanced vision.
Unfortunately, as soon as they made their way to a spot where the smoke wasn’t as thick, Batman and Superman spotted them.
Aquaman and Wonder Woman were too busy investigating everything around them to notice that Kaldur was there.
Turning his attention back to the two adults lecturing, Kaldur felt the air become warmer as rain fell in the background. The ground suddenly started shaking and he struggled to stay standing.
The team held onto each other, trying not to let the other fall.
“What the fuck is that?” he heard Wally mumble.
Kaldur followed his gaze and saw a blazing ball of fire in the sky, heading towards them. Kaldur felt himself start to sweat as it suddenly got hotter.
The ball of fire, which now looked like a blazing comet soared above them and hit- BOOM!
The explosion was loud and soon after he heard a high-pitched scream.
After that, the entirety of the sky turned gold.
Aquaman and Wonder Woman turned towards the scream, then frowned upon spotting them.
But Kaldur wasn’t focused on that, instead, his attention was focused on two teenagers that materialized out of nowhere.
They had a certain aura of power around them. Sadly, their face was covered with layers of dirt and grime so he couldn’t identify them. The clothes they were wearing were tattered and shredded as if they just walked through a den full of lions. They seemed to be covered in something red, maybe blood, yet golden glitter? - as well.
Kaldur and his team tried to step forward to get a closer look but he was stopped by his mentor, who was staring at the girl with something he couldn’t identify with his eyes.
The girl’s eyes observed their surroundings and when she met Orin’s eyes, her eyes widened and she suddenly grabbed her friend's arm and disappeared, leaving behind a trail of mist.
Kaldur wasn’t the only one who caught their interaction, Wonder Woman’s eyes narrowed at his king before turning to address her fellow league members. “This whole thing is under mine and Aquaman’s jurisdiction. All of you need to leave.” she glanced at the younger team before meeting Batman’s eyes. “Make sure they leave.”
Thinking that both Batman and Superman would argue with Diana’s orders, the Young Justice team studied them. Instead, they watched as Superman took off before Batman led them back to the bioship, making sure the team left as well.
The whole ride back, Kaldur’s head was swimming with questions. And he could tell that his teammates had questions as well.
They were going to get answers. Whether the League would let them or not.
Walking back to the Cave, the team was livid. The team was ordered not to pursue the case because it was in ‘Wonder Woman and Aquaman’s jurisdiction.’
Something Batman tried to drill in their heads by repeating multiple times.
“You can’t expect us to ignore everything we saw,” Robin argued with his mentor. “That was almost the end of the world.”
“Exactly!” Wally joined in, “When that comet thing hit whatever it hit, it should’ve exploded us as well. Not that I’m saying I wanted to get exploded,” Wally hurriedly explained. “I’m just saying that nothing about this makes sense.”
“Why is it that you shouldn’t continue whatever investigation you guys tried to do?” Batman gruffly said, “You weren’t supposed to be there. And you can bet that you guys won’t be receiving any more of the League’s alerts.”
The team let out a groan, “We’re just tired of all the secrecy,” Artemis bluntly stated. “None of this would’ve happened if you guys just tell us everything.”
“And what about those two people that appeared, then disappeared” Wally questioned, “How did they survive? Why were they covered in so much dirt? Wh-“
“ENOUGH!” Batman demanded, “This has nothing to do with us. So you guys need to let it go.”
“What do you mean this has nothing to do with us?”
“ENOUGH!”
Kaldur nervously cleared his throat before hesitantly speaking. “I might have some information about this, my king and his father ar-“
“They are very private about their business.” Batman glared at the Atlantean, as if mockingly saying go on, speak. “Now you guys are not getting yourselves involved in this. You will drop it and forget this whole manner. Am I understood?”
The team reluctantly nodded. Deep down, Kaldur knew that he crossed a line. That his mentor’s family had strong reasons to be secretive. But he also had his curiosities about this whole situation.
As they made their way to the lounge, Kaldur realized that his team was probably curious about this whole situation as well.
Before he could say anything, Wally started talking. “So, we’re still gonna investigate Athens right?”
Artemis nodded in disagreement, “Definitely, I want to know why Batman and Superman just left.”
“They can’t know that we’re still going to investigate this.”
“Obviously.”
“I just don’t wanna get in trouble for going against direct orders.”
Superboy nodded, “The smoke was weird as well.” He added, “Normally I can see through it, but I could only see a few feet farther ahead than what you guys saw.”
Megan moved closer to Superboy, “The people, they were just our age.” Megan said, worry and disbelief all over her voice. “I could tell that they were stressed out.”
One of Megan’s many abilities includes telepathy. It’s really useful in missions. It allowed her to read minds, project her thoughts in other people’s minds, communicate with others mentally, and she can even form a telepathic link so that all of them can talk without anyone knowing. It was very useful in missions.
However, her telepathy also allowed her to feel what other people were feeling. Sometimes, she felt like that was more of a curse than a blessing.
“Our best bet is to figure out who those people are,” Conner stated. “They’re our best bet and our only lead.”
“How are we supposed to do that?” Wally asked him, “They’re all the way across the Earth. Hell, they might not even be there considering they just disappeared like that.”
“I might be able to help with that,” Kaldur said, recalling the interaction the girl had with his king.
Artemis noticed that he probably had a higher understanding of the situation than any of them, “What do you know?”
All eyes turned to their leader and he suddenly felt unconscious, “I have a feeling that my king’s family is involved in this event. Especially, since he is helping Wonder Woman keep this a secret.” Before Wally could speak, Kaldur answered his question. “No, I don’t know what the secret is. But I know a name that might be able to get us somewhere.” It was a huge gamble, but whenever his king and his brother hung out in Atlantis, they would always complain about someone in Ancient Greek, the language of the gods. And one name was always mentioned, “Can you search up a Persephone Jackson?”
When the name left his mouth, Robin was already searching through the files, “Her file is restricted.” He said in disbelief, “I can’t access it.”
That caused the room to quiet down. As far as they know, Robin has never been denied access to Batman’s files.
“Well, what now?” Conner grumbled, “We’re back to square one.”
Megan frowned, “And how do we know she’s even involved.”
“If she wasn’t involved in anything, why would the League have her file in a super-restricted section,” Artemis argued.
“Why can’t we just search her up?” Wally suggested, “There’s bound to be something on her online.”
Having no other choice, they followed Wally’s suggestion. This girl had full articles and news reports about her. She didn’t seem to have any social media platforms but she had a fanbase.
“Wherever you got her name, do you have more?” Wally suddenly asked. “Cause she’s hot.”
Artemis didn’t even bother to hit him cause she probably knew he was right. When Kaldur studied the two girls in the team, he noticed that they were looking at the pictures with a bit of jealousy.
Turning back to the pictures, he noticed that there weren’t any recent pictures of her. The most recent picture of her was from 10 months ago.
As he studied the picture he couldn’t help but think that something about her seemed familiar. However, he didn’t know what.
“The earliest article said that she lived somewhere in Manhattan.” Artemis grumbled, “So I guess we can start there.”
“Sounds like a plan.” Robin injected before Wally could make a dumb comment about the blonde being jealous. “We need to be careful though, I don’t want to get in trouble for this.”
Conner scoffed, “I’m pretty sure we already failed that.”
Following his eyes, the team saw the camera that recorded every single thing they said.
“Well, there’s that.”
Robin waved off their concerns, “I can just erase the footage for the last half hour. Plus, they barely look at the cameras anyways.”
They all let out a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness for your hacking abilities.” Wally jokes, giving Robin a friendly nudge.
The dark-haired boy grinned, “What would you guys ever do without me?”
The team laughed before heading off to the kitchen, not noticing the small, blinking red light of the camera.
When Percy heard Leo leave, it felt like the whole world came crashing down.
They were all dead.
Annabeth, her wise girl, was gone. And it was all her fault.
Percy would never see Annabeth’s silky curly blonde hair again. She would never see the way her beautiful grey eyes glinted with excitement when she babbled about architecture.
There would be no more Annabeth sneaking into her cabin because she wanted to cuddle. There would be no more secret underwater make-out sessions.
There was just no more Annabeth.
She’s gone.
She could never say I love you to Annabeth again.
Percy looked at the picture of Annabeth on her nightstand before grabbing it.
All she had left were the memories that constantly played in her head. She would cherish and never forget it.
After a few minutes of cradling the picture of Annabeth in her hands, Percy forced herself to go to the bathroom so that she could clean up.
When the tub filled up, Percy didn’t bother to take off her clothes as her body was enveloped in the water.
It wasn’t like she could anyways. Her injuries made it hard for her to do anything other than walk. Not to mention that she used up a lot of energy as vapor traveled back to back.
Once Percy felt some of her injuries start to heal, she allowed herself to drift off to sleep.
Percy was suddenly in Olympus. The gods were in the middle of discussing a topic when Apollo met her eyes and whispered something she couldn’t hear.
As Percy walked forward, every eye seemed to follow her, making her feel self-conscious. Percy’s dream self looked exactly like Percy in the bath, with the same clothes and everything.
“Lord Zeus,” Percy spoke as she kneeled at the gods. “Why have you summoned me here?”
“We didn’t.” he bluntly said. “But since you’re here now, we can talk about your rewards.”
Percy frowned, “But what about Leo, h-“
Her father interrupted her, “He has already been rewarded. We are allowing him to find Ogygia a second time so that he can set the Titaness free.”
“But one of my wishes in the previous war was that all the peaceful titans would be set free.” Percy tried to argue, trying to explain that Leo shouldn’t have to look for Calypso because she should’ve already been free in the first place.
“Percy.” her father warned, “We are talking about your reward for the war. Not your friend’s.”
In other words, her father was trying to tell her to shut up before she got smitten.
“Sorry, my lord.” Percy apologized, “Please, carry on.”
She could practically hear Ares’s smirk as he spoke. “You know babe,” he seductively tried to say. “You’re pretty hot when you’re all submissive like that.”
Percy’s eyes flashed with anger but before she could speak, Zeus commanded Ares to “Shut up.” When her uncle’s electric blue eyes met Percy’s and she couldn’t help but flinch.
Jason, her mind remembered. He’s gone too.
She ignored the frown that formed on his face as she turned all her attention to her father, who had a radiant smile on his face as he announced, “The gods have agreed to let you stay in my palace.”
That caused Percy’s heart to drop.
She didn’t want to stay there. Everyone there hated her. The last time she was at his palace, all her half-siblings would glare at her with so much disgust and maliciousness that it made her want to cry. She couldn’t go there. Not again.
Percy missed how every god's eyes seemed to glint with knowing intent and how they exchanged smirks with one another as they watched her think.
“Percy.” Apollo said, knocking her out of her thoughts as he shifted to his human form and gently grabbed her hand, “Are you okay?”
“Oh, um- yes?” Percy tried to slyly get her hand free from the god’s grasp. When it didn’t work, she faced him. “But can you please let go of my arm?”
Apollo’s eyes seemed to widen as he quickly let go. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. I should’ve known better and it’s all my fault.”
“No, it wasn’t your fault.” Percy tried to assure, “I just don’t like it when-“ Percy paused, suddenly aware that every god seemed to turn their attention back to her.
“When what, Percy?” Hestia gently asked.
“I’m just not comfortable with people touching me.” That was a lie. Percy didn’t mind when the people close to her would suddenly grab her hand or pull her into a hug. In fact, Percy loved it. She just didn’t like it when gods touched her. She wasn’t close with any of them, even her dad. And when they grab her hand without permission, it always makes Percy want to shiver with disgust.
Some would consider it weird because physical touch was her second love language, although it was tied with words of affirmation. Her main love language was spending quality time together.
“So, Percy.” Her dad had a frown on his face. When Percy realized that all the other gods had a look of displeasure on their faces too, it dawned to her that they were probably reading her mind.
For some reason, she completely forgot that gods could do that. She didn’t know how she forgot, but she did anyway.
Get out of my head! Percy suddenly thought, making a lot of the gods flinch with surprise.
“You guys had no right reading my thoughts like that.” Percy’s head was suddenly swimming with questions. She began to get dizzy before she heard a sweet melodic voice start speaking.
“Percy.” the voice seemed to command, “Calm down. You’re going to be okay. You feel safe here with us. Calm down.”
Percy’s blurry vision began to clear up and she noticed that all the gods were around her. “Are you okay, Percy?” She couldn’t help but shrink away when she felt her father touch her hand, “Sorry.” he muttered.
She almost let out a sigh of relief when she felt his hand leave hers. But she felt bad. Her dad just wanted to comfort her but she was being difficult. “It’s fine.” Percy tried to smile at them, “I’m fine. Please, just give me some space.”
The gods didn’t seem to believe her but she didn’t care. She already won their war for them. What else could they want? If they want to kill her for being too powerful, then she would gladly let them. She would do anything to see Annabeth and her friends again.
“We’re not going to kill you.”
She glared at the gods, “Would it kill you guys to not be nosy?” when many gods nodded, “Instead of going to Atlantis, can I have a different reward thing.”
The gods seemed to have a silent conversation without her.
Rude.
“We have decided that we’ll let you have three wishes,” Zeus announced.
Percy honestly believed that she deserved more than that but who cares. She received three more wishes than what she thought she’d get.
“You don’t have to say your wish now.”
“Oh, no. I want to say my wishes now.” The faster She figured out what she wanted, the faster she’ll be out of their presence.
Come on Percy, think.
She surveyed the room around her, “Can uncle Hades and auntie Hestia be back on the Olympus council, please?” When Zeus was about to say no, Percy made her eyes widen and her lips quiver. He hesitated, “Please, uncle.” she pleaded.
The gods watched the exchange with amusement in their eyes. “Fine.” he gave in and snapped his fingers.
Two beautiful thrones suddenly appeared. One looked like Hades’s throne in the underworld except shinier. And Hestia’s throne seemed to be made of fire, somehow giving the throne room a home-like presence.
Ares laughed, “She would fit right in.”
Before Percy could ask what that meant, Aphrodite spoke, “Percy, dear. Where did you learn how to make such an adorable face?”
Percy’s smile seemed to brighten the room, “The seals taught me.”
The goddess blinked and looked at Poseidon, wondering if she was joking. “Seals?”
Percy nodded. “When I was younger, my mom used to take me to the zoo and when we saw the baby seals, they told me to copy their faces and I did.”
“She’s not lying,” Apollo muttered.
“Huh,” she heard Athena say. “Maybe we should be worried about seals taking over the world next. There’s no way we can win if we have to fight against a face like that.”
Percy ignored their comments, “Would it be possible to give minor gods more recognition.” She asked, ”This was supposed to be Jason’s wish but...” her voice trailed off. “What I’m trying to say is that maybe your kids” she turned to Athena, “Could design temples for them. Oh, and action figures too, please.”
Zeus turned to Athena, “Make plans for that.”
“And my last wish is to have a portal between the two camps.” Percy requested, “I’m guessing that since some of you guys managed to help us, they’re getting along pretty well.”
“You know, Percy,” Hermes commented, leaning forward. “You were supposed to use those wishes for you.”
“But I did though?” Percy was confused, “Now everyone’s life is easier because auntie Hestia can shut all the arguments down and uncle hades will finally stop complaining about feeling left out whenever we hang out.”
Hades gave her an amused smile, “That’s not what he meant, Percy.”
And as if they planned this, every god seemed to voice their thoughts about Percy being too selfless and how she deserves a reward that she can use.
The yelling eventually got too loud that Percy’s head started to hurt again. She began to back up. Fed up with all the yelling, “CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE SHUT UP?”
They shut up.
“Thank you.”
Her uncle and her dad seemed to have a conversation. “Percy, we’ve decided to allow you to stay in your dad’s palace whenever you want.”
Percy wanted to argue but as she looked at her dad, she just couldn’t bring herself to. He looked so excited. And she couldn’t bring herself to say that it sounded more like a punishment than a reward.
“You don’t need to say it, Perce.” Apollo winked at her, “All you have to do is think it and we’ll know.”
“Stop reading my mind.” she growled, “And don’t call me Perce.” Only her friends could hear that. And no one here was her friend.
Not now. Not ever.
She didn’t notice the gods flinch.
“You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” her dad softly told her. “I don’t want to force you into doing something you don’t like.”
It’s too late for that.
Her dad flinched.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” Percy tried to defend herself. She pleadingly turned to her uncle, “Is there a way to make sure that no one can read my mind without my permission. Especially if I’m staying in Atlantis.”
“Well, yes bu-“
“Please, uncle.” Percy begged, “I just don’t want anyone to hear what I’m thinking. I mean, what if I get a crush on a god and they hear what I’m thinking about.”
“You’re not going to get a crush on a god or goddess.” Poseidon injected, “I won’t allow it.”
Percy ignored her father. “It would be embarrassing.” Percy forced her eyes to widen again as she scrunched her eyebrows together, “Please.”
“Come on, brother.” Hades said, “Just give our niece this one thing. Plus, she’s already going to be stuck in Atlantis. Let her have this” he pointed back to Percy, who was still looking at her uncle with pleading eyes. “And how can you say no to that adorable face.”
“Fine.” Zeus gave in, again. He snapped his fingers and a beautiful necklace appeared on her hands
It had a simple silver chain with an omega charm in the middle. When Percy studied the charm, she noticed that all 14 of the Olympian’s symbols were engraved on it.
“It’s beautiful,” she murmured before narrowing her eyes at him. “But how do I know that this actually works?” she questioned. “How do I know that this isn’t a trick?”
The gods' exchange looks before she meets Aphrodite’s eyes. “Look Percy,” Aphrodite sweetly said, “I know you don’t think you can, but you can trust us.”
Percy looked at them distrustfully, she didn’t like how she kept letting her guard down while she was in their presence.
Something was up.
Poseidon walked closer to Percy, she didn’t like how the gods kept watching her. “Look Percy, we swear on the river of Styx that when you wear this necklace it’ll shield your thoughts from anyone you want unless you give that person permission.”
When Percy heard the thunder outside, sealing the oath, she couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.
They weren’t lying.
“I know you’d don’t trust us.” Hestia faltered for a second. “And you have a good reason not to, but please. Trust me when I say that we’re trying.”
Percy wanted to decline. She didn’t want anything to do with the gods anymore. Yet as she looked at Hestia’s warm eyes, she heard how sincere she sounded and Percy found herself slowly nodding. “Okay.” she lied. “But I hope that you guys know that saying your trying is a lot different than actually trying.”
Percy had good reasons on why she shouldn’t trust the gods. They were cruel and jealous deities. They were possessive over the things they want. And if you did something that they didn’t like, they would make your life a living hell that would make you wish that you were dead.
“Can I put the necklace on you?” Her father suddenly asked.
Percy found herself nodding at his request. She handed the necklace to her dad and lifted her hair back.
It only took a few seconds and when he was done she found herself admiring the necklace again. “Thank you.” she sincerely said, “For granting all my wishes.”
And for giving me the ability to think what I want without any of you eavesdropping on it.
Their eyes seem to soften at her words.
“Group hug!” Aphrodite squealed as she pulled Percy in.
Soon, every god seemed to join in. When they finally let go, Percy noticed that the throne room was starting to fade out.
She gave the gods a final uncertain smile and a small wave, not noticing how her necklace seemed to glow for a second.
When Percy's eyes snapped open, she noticed that most of her wounds were healed. Her muscles still felt sore, but it didn’t hurt when she stretched her arms out.
Percy quickly got rid of her clothes, making the water evaporate before turning the shower on. Her injuries might’ve healed but she was still really dirty.
Dirt and grime seemed to cover a majority of her body. Along with a lot of golden dust.
Percy sighed, this would take a while.
Luckily, the cold water seemed to soothe her aching muscles, making the scrubbing a lot easier.
As Percy continued to wash her body, she noticed the scars all over her body. There was more than usual. Luckily, the scars were so faint that you could only see them if you looked at her skin closely. And with the mist, mortals wouldn’t even notice it. No matter how much they looked.
For the gods, her scars would barely be noticeable. Sadly, they wouldn’t be fooled by the mist. Luckily, they would only see her scars if Percy allowed them to get close to her. And that would never happen.
No matter how much they claimed they wanted to change.
She had no idea why the gods seemed to take an interest in her. Especially now. But if she learned anything from the stories, it was not a good thing.
Annabeth once told Percy that if she ever caught a god’s eye, the best thing she could do was run away.
However, Percy didn’t have that choice. She didn’t just catch the eye of one god, she somehow caught the eye of all fourteen Olympians. They were watching her. And deep down, she knew that there was no way they would ever let her out of their sight.
Percy grasped the silver necklace that was hanging from her neck.
This year has been one of the most difficult years of her life. Yet, she couldn’t shake the feeling that it would only continue to get worse.

Sorry this chapter took so long for me to update. School sucks, but hey- it's over now, so I have more free time to do whatever I want.
Chapter Text
After freshening up, Percy decided to stay at the Argo II for the night.
She didn’t want to, but she knows that her mom would worry too much if Percy came to the house looking like she hasn’t slept in ages.
Percy missed her mom. She was the only person who stuck with Percy no matter what.
Even Annabeth left her for a while, only coming back when she needed something from her.
It was a vicious cycle.
But she was used to it.
In the end, Percy had her mom. And that was all that mattered.
She didn’t want to stay at the Argo. Leo was lucky that he left as soon as possible. But right now, Percy didn’t have a choice.
The engines weren’t running and no demigods were talking. The ship was quiet. Too quiet.
Percy found it creepy.
She quickly made her way to her room, grabbing a dark blue backpack that was enchanted to hold an endless amount of things.
Each one of the seven demigods got one.
Percy stared at the empty hallway, contemplating whether or not she should enter their rooms.
When the seven first got to know each other, they made a pact. It was a joke at first but as the quest got more dangerous, they decided to stick with it.
It wasn’t a deep pact or anything.
The pact was simple, yet sad at the same time. It depends on how you look at it.
If any of the seven died, the survivors would be allowed to go through their things and they would be allowed to keep whatever they wanted.
Percy never thought much of it when they made the pact but now, staring at their rooms, she couldn’t believe that there were only two people left.
They were gone.
And it was all because Percy wasn’t strong enough to save them.
It was all her fault.
Percy knew that they would’ve wanted Percy to keep something of theirs. To remind her of them.
Percy grabbed all of their bottomless backpacks and shoved everything she could in them.
Percy had no idea what she grabbed but she decided that if she ever came back to camp, their siblings would want some of their things.
And if Percy’s theory was right and the gods were watching her, she believed that they would want something that belonged to their children.
After all, they were still their kids.
When Percy was done going through all their rooms, Percy decided to put all the bottomless bags on her bag. That way, she only had to carry one.
She stayed in Annabeth's room that night.
Percy was on an island.
When she turned to explore, she realized that she was in Ogygia.
Like before, the island was as beautiful as ever. So beautiful, that one could even forget that it was a prison.
She heard soft familiar voices talking and Percy decided to follow it.
As Percy got closer, she realized why she thought the voices were familiar.
Leo found Calypso!
Percy couldn’t help the smile that stretched onto her face. The gods kept their promise.
Well one of them.
But still, maybe there was hope for them after all.
Finding Persephone Jackson was harder than Robin thought it would be.
Who knew that finding a semi-famous girl would take long?
The young justice team has been in Manhattan for a few days. It was the only lead they had. And because the city was so big, they decided to split up.
They planned to speak with her mom and stepdad but they weren’t answering the doorbell. So that was a bust.
Now, they’re just stalking the apartment residence, hoping that the raven-haired beauty would show up.
We’ve been doing this for hours, Kid Flash complained through their mind link. Can I go run and get in n’ out?
Robin wanted to say yes but there was no near In n’ Outs in New York. He was pretty sure that they only existed in California.
Maybe after this mission. He finally suggested, Make sure you get everyone something though.
This “mission” has been going on for days, Kid Flash reminded them. Maybe we should just stop.
No! Aqualad’s commanding voice immediately filled his head, I want to know what this girl had to do with Athens. And we’re not abandoning it until we figure it out.
Robin furrowed his brows, their leader was never this invested in a not-League-assigned mission like this. What makes this one so different from all the other missions they’ve done without the League’s permission.
I think I see her. Artemis’s voice cut off his thoughts.
Robin followed Artemis’s grey eyes and noticed her staring at a brown-skinned girl.
The girl was weaving through the crowded streets so fast that people didn’t even notice she was there. She climbed up the stairs without even taking a break and before dashing to a room and ringing the doorbell as she tried to smooth out her hair.
Why didn’t she just take the elevator? Wally complained. There was no need for her to take the stairs to the seventh floor.
Shut up , Artemis commanded, annoyed at the speedster’s antics. At least you had your super speed.
The girl's eyes seemed to dart around as if something would attack her at any moment. She rang the doorbell again, waiting for a few minutes. When no one answered, she knocked. “Mom?” she called, “Paul?”
No answer.
The girl, Percy, froze for a second before she slid one hand onto her pocket and used the other to know again, this time more harshly.
More minutes passed and the girl tried the doorknob. The door firmly stayed shut. Percy muttered something and put her hand in her pocket. When she brought it out, she was holding a key.
If she had a key the whole time, why did she not use it? M’gann questioned.
Who knows, Kid Flash supplied, Maybe she wanted to surprise her parents.
Robin noticed her hand trembling as she unlocked the door.
For a few seconds, she did nothing. Then she swung the door open and it shut just as fast.
You idiot! Artemis scolded, Why didn’t you run in before it shut?
Wally started to defend himself. I thought she might want some alone time with her b parents. She looked like she hasn’t seen them in a while.
Artemis sighed, Great. Now we have to wait even longer
Right when Artemis finished that sentence, Robin heard Percy muttering something in a language he couldn’t understand in a foreign language as the door swung open again.
Her voice was panicked and terrified and when Robin turned, he had to hold in a shocked gasp. Percy was drenched in red.
Wally voiced their thoughts, Is that blood?
Robin tried to get a look through the door but it was shut. “Dang it,” he whispered under his breath.
Percy’s face suddenly turned in his direction and his blue eyes met her teary ones. Her face suddenly darkens and she scans her surroundings.
Her eyes seemed to focus on each of their hiding spots. Something that shouldn’t have been possible to a civilian.
Who is she?
When she noticed where Aqualad was hiding, she froze for a moment before turning and running towards the exit.
Kaldur was the first to move, “Don’t let her get away!”
Robin felt the wind hit his face as Kid Flash ran up to her, grabbing her arm. “Got her,” he announced.
Percy stared at the speedster with clear disgust before she latched onto his arm, twisting it, making Kid Flash flip around and fall.
Her eyes seemed to study them one more time before she continued to run.
The team stayed frozen from shock.
“Did she just-“ Superboy tried to say.
“Yep.” he supplied. “She just judo-flipped a speedster.”
Kid Flash groaned, “So she’s hot and she can fight.” He turned to Aqualad “Where did you get this girl’s name?”
As soon as Percy smelt the familiar salty air, she knew she arrived at Montauk. She ran towards the cabin that she and her mom used to stay at, stumbling slightly.
Percy threw herself onto the bed. It wasn’t fair.
Her mom and Paul had nothing to do with the war. So why? Why did Gaea have to go after them?
Percy held in a sob as she remembered that her sister was dead too. Her poor, young baby sister probably never learned how to walk and probably never will.
Their corpses will be engraved in Percy’s mind forever.
Estelle didn’t even have a body to bury. There was nothing but ash. Percy guessed that she was probably burnt alive.
Paul probably tried to save her mom and his daughter. But he failed. His head was separated from his body, leaving behind a pool of blood. Paul’s eyes were filled with fear yet determination.
And her mom. Her body was right next to Paul’s head. Their eyes staring at each other. She was stabbed right at the heart. She probably died instantly. And as if the monsters didn’t torture her mom enough, parts of her body were burned.
They probably forced her to watch as her husband and her daughter died in front of her.
This was all Percy’s fault.
If she never got kidnapped, they would still be alive. If she was never born, her mom would probably be alive. There was no one to blame but her.
If she got there just a few minutes sooner then she could’ve saved them. If she just went straight home instead of staying at the Argo, she could’ve saved them. IT WAS ALL HER FAULT.
What was she going to do now?
She planned to spend as much time as she could with her mortal family. Percy wanted to get a sense of normalcy in her life that she hasn’t felt in years.
But of course, the fates had other plans.
Percy contemplated her options.
She didn’t want to stay in her father’s kingdom. But did she have any other choice?
The gods were watching her. She couldn’t vapor travel anywhere, they would know. And if she decides to go through with her plan of staying in Alaska now, they would realize where she is. And her plan of loving a normal life would be over.
The best she could do was bide her time and wait till their guard was down. When that finally happens, she can leave.
And she would never be part of another war. There would be no gods. No monsters. Just Percy and the cold.
Plus, her siblings can’t be that bad anymore. Right?
Percy wanted to laugh at that thought, suddenly remembering what happened a few moments before Percy arrived at Montauk.
At first, she was confused at why a few teenagers with ridiculous costumes were spying on her, then she noticed the Atlantean.
That was when she realized they were part of that team one of her godly siblings, Orin, helped form. The Justice League, or something like that.
It sounded stupid.
And it was stupid.
Right when Percy finally got over her shock that they were spying on her, she tried to run. Then her brother’s protege or something like that yelled at his team to catch her.
And before she could blink, a guy her age with a mustard-looking costume grabbed her arm. Having no other choice, she judo-flipped him.
Percy loved that part. He deserved it.
If you asked her, they all deserved it. If Percy had the time, she would’ve judo-flipped them all. But sadly, she didn’t have time, so she ran and vapor-traveled away.
She didn’t even have time to mourn that her family was gone. They just attacked her out of nowhere and forced her to leave.
She shouldn’t have been surprised that the people that her brother was working with would act like this.
They didn’t give her a chance to explain or even asked her anything. They just attacked.
After a few moments of laying in the dark, Percy decided that she should contact someone.
“Father.” she pleaded, whispering under her breath. “If you can hear me, please help.”
Percy was suddenly aware of the tears drifting down her face when she saw her body get engulfed in bright, golden light.
“Shh.” she heard a soft voice whisper. “You’re safe now. You’re safe here with us.” the voice repeated, making her feel warm. “We’re here for you. You’re going to be alright.”
Notes:
That's right, I updated. I have the next three (maybe more) chapters written and edited, so I now have a weekly update schedule for this fanfic. Be proud, cause I have no idea where I'm going with this after the 10th or so chapter.
And if you're surprised about Sally and Paul dying, I don't know what to say. What kind of fem Percy x YJ fanfic would this be if everyone Percy loved didn't die?
Chapter 4

Chapter Text
Persephone Jackson was a well-known name to the gods.
Whether they liked her or not, her name was a topic that many often discussed.
“Do you know where Poseidon’s daughter is?”
“No. I’ve been trying to see what she’s been up too but it’s like something is blocking everyone from seeing what’s happening on their quest to save the world from Gaea.”
“You guys are stalkers.”
“We’re not stalkers, we’re gods.”
“Same thing, different font. σκύλα”
-
“Does Poseidon know that all of Olympus is obsessed with his princess?”
“Probably. It’s pretty obvious. But considering the fact that no immortals have been turned into blobfishes, I don’t think he cares.”
Some would talk about her fierce loyalty to Olympus. How she would always fight on their side, no matter the threat.
“So you’re telling me that after everything she’s been through, she’d still fight on our side?”
“Yep.”
“Seriously?”
“Completely serious.”
“And she turned down immortality?”
“Yeah, I heard it was because she wanted to help the demigods.”
“That’s so sweet.”
“Literally! And they had the audacity to exclude her back when she first got claimed.”
“That happened four years ago.”
“So? They still did it.”
“You guys can sure hold grudges.”
“We’re from the underworld, did you expect roses and glitter?”
Or maybe, they would talk about the grace that she has in battle. She was rumored to be a prodigy with weapons. Some would even claim that she could beat the Olympians.
“Didn’t she beat Ares when she was only 12?”
“Yeah! I remember him complaining about it during game night.”
“It’s even more embarrassing when you realize that she only had a few weeks of training before going on that quest.”
“Weeks? More like days.”
“Ares is a lucky bastard that Poseidon didn’t strike him down for touching his precious little pearl though.”
“Please. Ares wouldn’t have a chance with that beauty. Especially since he cursed her.”
“Oh yeah. He was the reason that she couldn’t fight with her sword on Mount Othrys right?”
“Yeah.” the god said, recalling the memories. “Arty almost killed him for that. He was part of the reason that Zoe died.”
“Oh.” the god winced, “Did Percy blame herself for that?”
“Obviously.”
“Do you think she needs some comfort and reassurance that it wasn’t her fault?”
“That happened three years ago.” the sun god smirked, “But don’t need to worry, I made sure to remind her that it wasn’t her fault.”
“You didn’t-“
“No! Poseidon would kill me.” the god scowled, “Plus, she was only 14 and was infatuated with your son.”
But one of the most popular topics that were often examined would be her beauty.
“Aphrodite, if you lay a hand on my daughter I will-“
The love goddess scowled, “I won’t hurt her.” She exclaimed in frustration, “I could never hurt anyone who looks like that.”
The sea god raised an eyebrow, “Do I need to remind you about-“
“That happened over a millennia ago! Why can’t you guys let it go.”
“Just don’t harm her.” the god warned.
The goddess waved him off, “Don’t worry. I won’t. Consider the warning received.”
Immortals from all over have heard many whispers that Percy’s beauty could rival Aphrodite’s.
Normally, the love goddess would be insulted that people believed that her looks could ever compare to a mere mortal but a simple glance at Percy could prove her wrong.
One would think that Aphrodite would be jealous of a mere demigod being rumored to be as beautiful as her, especially after that whole Psyche scandal that she got herself into, but she wasn’t.
Instead, she was proud.
Percy was the daughter of the ocean. It only makes sense that her looks could rival the goddess of beauties. After all, Aphrodite herself was born from the sea foam that rose from the deep, dark waters.
As a demigod, your eyes were supposed to represent your godly parent’s domain. Percy’s eyes were a dangerous shade between green and blue. Something that would be normal if you were Poseidon’s child. Their eyes represented the ocean. Calm yet dangerous.
However, if you looked closely. You can see that her eyes would change color, from a different tint to another.
Her hair cascaded about a few inches below her shoulder, reaching her chest. It was wavy.
From afar, one could even say that it looked like the waves of an ocean. Her hair was as dark as the night sky, which would often bring out her eyes.
If there was one good thing that demigods got from their genes, it was that their skin would always stay clear. No matter what. It doesn’t matter if you rubbed dirt all over your face or stayed in a dessert with no sunscreen, your skin would stay as clear as glass.
Though, many demigods thought of this blessing as useless.
The blue-eyed teen scowled, “What’s the point of having clear skin if it won’t hide the scars?”
His eyes seemed to glow gold for a second as a smooth, velvety, voice whispered in his ear. Just another useless thing the gods burdened you with.
In a room full of mortals, it would automatically make them turn in your direction. Some would even give you the compliment that your skin was “glowing”.
“Do you think they take drugs?”
“That came out of nowhere.”
“Seriously though, they literally look perfect all the time.”
“Drugs make you look bad.”
“That’s not true. It could be steroids or something.”
“They probably just have a good skincare routine.”
“Or a good sleep schedule,” another voice joined in.
“Or they like to work out.”
A teen rolled her eyes, “See. If you guys just watched the links I sent you, then we’d look like them too.”
“I’m pretty sure they just have good genes.”
The group paused before one spoke up, “Should we ask for their workout routine?”
Due to all the quests that the gods have blessed her with, Percy had a figure that many girls would be jealous of. She had an average height of 5’6 and a lean body. Her face was what mortals would call a heart shape. She had a sharp jawline and barely any extra face fat. Her skin tone was a soft bronze color, something she inherited from her mom’s Filipino side. Her brown skin brought out her soft pink-tinted lips that had many people, both mortal and immortal, wonder about how sweet they tasted.
“If she’s that hot as a mortal, imagine her as a goddess.”
“How much do you think I have to beg Poseidon so that I can talk to her?”
“It won’t matter if you beg. I heard that he won’t even let the Olympians glance at her when she’s in the room.”
“Who do you think her first kiss was?”
“Probably that Athena kid.”
“Really?” a god asked, "I heard it was Apollo's new oracle."
The god scowled, “They're lucky.”
All in all, when put together. Persephone Rhea Jackson was breathtaking. With looks that could rival Aphrodite and accomplishments that could put many to shame, many found themselves intrigued by the demigoddess.
Contrary to popular belief, Poseidon had more than one child with his wife.
There’s his first-born, Triton, the heir of the ocean. He is the minor god of the ocean and the messenger of the seas. He ruled a kingdom called Tritonis.
“Did you really have to name your kingdom after yourself?”
Triton scowled at his brother, “And if I did?”
Orin rolled his eyes, “Your υπερηφάνεια is showing.”
Then his second-born, Orin. He’s the minor god of saltwater and eels. Due to the fact that Triton would mostly be in charge of the politics under sea, Orin was tasked with handling overseas situations. He was part of a League with one of Zeus’s daughters, Diana. They were in charge of making sure that mortals weren’t aware of the gods' existence unless told otherwise. Orin ruled Atlantis.
“Have fun with the mortals!” his oldest brother mocked.
Orin only raised an eyebrow, “Jealous?”
Triton ignored his brother’s question. “You’re so going to owe me for watching over your kingdom.”
His first daughter is named Rhode. She is also the third-born. She is the minor goddess of fresh water. She patronized the island of Rhode. She was one of Poseidon’s favorites.
“You spoil her too much,” the queen muttered to Poseidon.
“Can you blame me?”
She glared at Poseidon, “Do you think that she really needed another island?”
Lastly, there was Kymopoleia, or as she would like to be called, Kym. She was peculiar compared to her siblings. She proudly had the domains of violent seas and storms. She doesn't rule any kingdoms or rule any islands. Instead, she liked to be left alone. Occasionally visiting for family dinners.
The goddess scowled, “Do I have to go?”
The dolphin nodded, Your father said that it was mandatory.
She groaned, “But why?”
Even though the dolphin had no shoulders, Kym swears that she saw it shrug, You can ask your father yourself when you meet him.
Kim groaned again.
Maybe the king wants you to be more social, the dolphin said helpfully. You can’t only talk to fish and scare mortals the whole time.
Kym’s hair brightened and the dolphin quickly rushed out before he could get smited.
When the dolphin was gone, Kym laughed.
“I am never going to get tired of that.” she glanced at the invitation on her hand, “But seriously? Why do I need to be more social? I'm doing just fine by myself.”
When they first heard about Percy, they were resentful of her existence.
They didn’t like her.
And as her name gradually became more well-known, the resentment gradually grew.
“Who does she think she is?”
“You’re just mad 'cause you're not daddy’s favorite anymore.”
“And if I am?” Rhode glanced at her brothers, “At least I’m not mad because dad’s only been watching her nonstop.”
Orin looked back at the one-way iris message they summoned, watching as his demigod sister seemed to toss and turn from what seems to be a nightmare. “μπάσταρδος” he cursed.
Rhode and Triton looked at him with amusement before Rhode gave them a small smirk as she turned her attention back to the dark-haired demigod. “A bastard indeed.”
It was like Percy was a shiny, bright pearl while the rest of her siblings were nothing but a pile of dirty, plain rocks.
Triton hated how nothing but a mere demigod was worthy of his father’s attention. Ever since she was born, Poseidon was fixated with his creation. Though, he believed that it could be because she was his first demigod daughter. But it didn’t matter! He had Rhode. So why would he ever need a Percy? Their father didn’t need that demigod. And Triton would make sure that Percy believed that.
Orin detested the fact that Percy could just waltz into their life and immediately become his father’s favorite. She was no one special. Percy was just a mistake that unfortunately happened. No one wanted her. And he would not stop until every single blood cell in her mortal body knew that.
Rhode used to be the favorite. She loved all the attention that Poseidon gave her. And when he stopped, she wanted to know how a mortal could ever compare to her? Rhode was a goddess and Percy was a demigod. And while the mortal might have the looks of a goddess. She was still just a mortal. Plus, Percy was unaware of how her looks seemed to draw people in. And if Percy ever began to get insecure? Well, who would ever blame Rhode?
Kym. Well, Kym didn’t care. When she tried to drown her sister, she felt a bit of sorrow. But then her sister mentioned that she would get her action figures, so she kinda liked Percy now. Though she couldn’t help but feel bad. The Olympians were watching her, and her siblings hated her. If they gave Percy a chance, then Kym was sure that the demigod would make them action figures as well.
When they got the message that Percy would stay in Atlantis for a while, the three gods were enraged.
When the demigod was on the surface, all their father would pay attention to was her.
And now?
Now they find out that they would be staying in their palace?
They were livid.
Wasn’t it forbidden for demigods to have direct contact with their godly parents?
So why.
Why was she so different?
Whether Persephone Jackson knew it or not, she had their father’s full attention.
And they couldn’t compete with her.
So that day, three immortals made an alliance.
To make Persephone’s stay as troubling as possible.
They were gods. And when you take something they want, they’re bound to make your life miserable.
Ever since her big entrance to the Greek world, the Olympians found themselves being drawn to Persephone Jackson.
She was an enigma.
“Poseidon, how is your daughter so smart? The battle strategies she's come up with are extraordinary. No one has ever thought of them before.”
A god scoffed under his breath, “She might be smart but she’s oblivious to everyone crushing on her.”
Athena rolled her eyes, “There’s a difference between being smart and being oblivious.”
Never once in their immortal life had they encountered anyone like her. If they didn’t know any better, they would’ve believed that she was one of them.
A goddess.
They have never met a demigod who did not hesitate to tell them that they were wrong. That they were acting stupid.
It was like she was a breath of fresh air after they have been stuck in the same place for a while.
And in a way, they guessed they were.
But Persephone Jackson changed that.
They offered her immortality and they yearned for her to accept. They wanted to learn more about the girl that fought for Olympus without hesitation.
“So it’s official?” Zeus asked through their mind link. “We’re offering the Poseidon spawn immortality?”
The gods all nodded excitedly.
The young gods all felt shivers run through their backs as their eyes all met Poseidon's warning gaze.
If I see one of you even look at my daughter the wrong way, I will make you fade and make sure you never reform.
When she declined, they had no idea what to do. The gods were too prideful to be comfortable enough with trying to get to know a mere demigod.
“How could she just decline?” Apollo groaned in annoyance as soon as the demigods left Olympus. “How can someone just reject immortality?”
“Now what?” Hermes asked, “We can’t just talk to a mortal.”
Artemis raised an eyebrow at the two of them, “If all of you guys just claimed your kids, this never would’ve happened.”
The gods around her frowned.
“Though.” Artemis continued to ponder, “Do you think she would accept a place in my hunt? Now that the prophecy’s over and all.”
Apollo and Hermes scowled, “She’s probably going to get together with the Athena spawn.”
“So? Everyone who joins the hunt is gay. They could still be together.” she looked at her siblings and smirked, “Are you guys scared that I’ll be able to seduce her before you do?”
Poseidon’s voice boomed through the room as he glared at the moon goddess, “She’s only 16," he reminded her harshly. "16!"
Artemis waved off his worries, “If we were in Ancient Greece, she would be considered an adult.” Poseidon continued to glare and she hurriedly continued. “Don’t worry, uncle. I won’t try to bed her.” even though the 'yet' remained unsaid, the whole room could hear it.
Poseidon looked away, unsatisfied.
But they didn’t have a choice. They couldn’t force her to become a goddess.
They weren’t stupid.
They wanted Persephone to like them. And forcing her to become something she doesn’t want would only cause the opposite.
So they’ll wait. It doesn’t matter how long it takes. They were immortal.
"Are you guys sure about this plan?"
"Of course I'm sure about this plan." Athena frowned.
"If she finds out about this, she'll end up hating us." a god warned.
"She'll end up hating us either way," Athena waved off their concern. "Plus, that'll only happen if she finds out."
Poseidon stared at his niece, "I don't suppose you know how we're supposed to explain to my daughter how she suddenly became immortal."
Athena smirked in return, "All in due time, uncle. All in due time."
After all, they had all the time in the world.
Hestia was known as the forgotten Olympian.
Very few knew of her.
She was the first-born of Kronos and Rhea. She is the goddess of family, domesticity, and home. She guarded the hearth of Olympus.
Hestia was the Last Olympian.
And she was not stupid.
She knew what the Olympians planned for Percy, but she couldn’t bring herself to stop them.
Because of the dark-haired demigod, the hearth was brighter than ever. Its flames grew taller and the heat continuously got higher as she brought them all together.
The gods didn't fight as much. Instead, they chose to work together. Trying to mend their broken family. All for the sake of Persephone Jackson.
It softened Hestia’s heart. One of her favorite domains were domesticity.
And because of Percy, the Olympians were finally acting like one!
It was her biggest wish come true.
If all Hestia had to do was turn a blind eye when the gods were discussing their plans for the young demigod, then she would.
Cause for once in her life, Hestia allowed herself to be selfish.
For the sake of her family.
That night, three powerful beings crowded around a single strand of string.
The string was a beautiful color, repeatedly shifting between sea-blue and sea-green. If you looked closely, you would see how a golden hue softly surrounded it.
“This mortal has been one of the best heroes we’ve seen in centuries,” one voice said.
“Indeed, she is.” Another agreed, “But what should we do? A life like that will require a marvelous ending.”
The one next to her raised an eyebrow, “What are we thinking? The classic Greek tragedy or should we make an exception.”
The string seemed to glow as if it was answering fate's question. When the light died down, the string looked stronger, healthier.
“How curious.” one muttered, studying the string in her hand. “How curious indeed.”
“Her story isn’t over yet.” one softly announced, “We can only watch and see as she continues with her path.”
Though the moirai were powerful, they couldn’t control every aspect of a mortal's life.
They could only choose which mortals would be born and how long they would be able to live before they cut the string.
Their duty was to make sure that the gods continued their rule.
And because of that, each moirai could see through the three periods of time.
Atropos could see the past. In every string that cut, she could see the lives that they lived. The good things they have done, along with the bad.
Clotho could see the present. In every string she spun, she would see how it would affect the people around them.
Lachesis could see that future. In everything that she measured, she could see glimpses of how the person would turn out.
Together, the moirai could identify how each mortal and demigod would turn out.
So when they couldn’t see Persephone’s future anymore, they could only hope that the gods knew what they were doing.
Notes:
Okay, I lied. I do have some ideas for the plot. But to be honest, they're more like subplots, not the -whole reason for this fanfic- type of plot, you know?
But hey, we now know what a majority of the gods think of Percy. This is where a majority of the manipulation happens. (future me, if you see this, make sure you add the manipulation tags) - a perk of writing the chapters ahead of time means that I get to write these little 'end notes' weeks before I post this. So, hello to the future. This is me writing from June 4th 2021 at 1:42 a.m. while currently listening to Hamilton.
And let's talk AU or worldbuilding; if you haven't noticed it yet, I made Orin a god. Why? Cause I wanted too. But all jokes aside, this is how it's going to go.
Orin is his godly name. Or in other words, how the demigods call/view him as.
Arthur Curry is his mortal form. Or in other words, it's his fake identity when he's playing superhero.Does that make sense? Please tell me that makes sense.
If you have requests for me to write, send me a message on my tumblr
And if you want to be a beta reader, send me a message there as well
Chapter Text
Athens was a mess.
Diana and the rest of her colleagues were trying to do as much damage control as they could.
It wasn’t enough.
The Justice League may be powerful but they were no match against the enemies of the gods.
“Do you have any idea what’s going on?” she asked Orin.
Screams filled the air as Diana felt the ground roughly shake.
“The war.” Orin managed to say, “It finally begins.”
Diana tightened her grip on her lasso, “What do we need to do?”
“Save as many civilians as possible,” the god's eyes were focused on the direction of the battle, and Diana couldn’t help but wonder if he could see what was happening.
Diana nodded, quickly running in the opposite direction.
Hopefully, the demigods knew what they were doing.
Even with the ground shaking violently, the League managed to help a majority of the civilians escape.
Diana doesn’t know how long they’ve been in Athens, but it felt like days. Her whole body ached.
Her eyes drifted towards the direction the battle was taking place. She might not be able to see past much due to all the smoke, but she could still hear properly.
She could hear a lot of persistent, piercing noises, with the occasional explosion.
Diana tried to steady her breath, trying to calm the panic stirring inside of her.
These are the seven most powerful demigods of the century, she reminded herself. If anyone can win us this battle, it’ll be them.
Suddenly, she felt someone appear next to her.
“My father’s presence appeared around an hour or two ago.” While the god said that in a calm voice, Diana heard the small quiver in his voice. “The battle should be over soon.”
He was nervous.
Diana didn’t mention anything. Instead, she tilted her head to face the god, “Then let's hope that our side is victorious.”
Before Orin could reply, another explosion happened.
Diana managed to take a hold of the god’s arm before the ground violently shook, taking many trees and the remaining buildings down to the ground.
“These earthquakes are getting more and more violent,” Diana growled in frustration. “Can you feel any mortals among us?”
Orin shut his eyes before shaking his head. “No. It’s only us, Batman, Superman, an-“
Another earthquake happened. This one was so violent that it almost knocked Orin down as well.
The air around her began to get warmer. When Diana glanced at the sky, she saw clouds forming.
Before she could ask Orin about it, her eyes caught the blazing ball of fire in the sky. It was heading towards them.
“Is that the fucking sun?” she couldn’t help but ask.
Orin shook his head, “No, it’s a demig-“
A high-pitched scream filled the air and Diana felt like someone managed to pierce her heart with a scorching sword.
She turned in the direction of the scream, Orin quickly duplicating her actions before she narrowed her eyes at the sight of the young sidekick team a few feet in front of them.
“What are they doing here?” she heard Orin mutter in an irritated voice.
Before she could answer, the entirety of the sky turned gold. “They won.” Diana couldn’t hide the disbelief in her voice as she turned towards Orin, “They wo-“
Her voice trailed off the moment she spotted the vapor in the air forming into two different people.
Diana couldn’t recognize them— they were covered with dirt, blood, and as well as gold dust. Their clothes were tattered and shredded.
Demigods. Her mind seemed to inform her. They’re demigods.
From the corner of her eye, she noticed Orin stop his protégée from getting closer to the girl.
Diana turned and studied the two demigods in front of them.
The boy was passed out. If the girl wasn’t holding on to him so tight, Diana did not doubt that he would’ve dropped to the ground.
The girl seemed to observe the surroundings of the building. Her posture indicating that she was expecting someone to attack them.
Diana waited till the girl’s eyes turned towards them. She watched closely as the girl’s eyes seemed to widen in horror the moment she saw the god next to her.
The dark-haired girl abruptly grabbed her friend’s other arm and they quickly dissipated into mist.
Diana examined Orin before turning to address the people around her, “This whole thing is under mine and Aquaman's jurisdiction. All of you need to leave." she glanced at Aqualad, before meeting Batman's eyes. "Make sure they leave," she commanded.
Batman nodded, leading the teens towards the bioship, without another glance at the two heroes.
Orin was still staring at the spot where the girl disappeared.
Diana pinched the god.
When he yelped, snapping out of his stupor, as he turned to the daughter of Zeus, slightly flinching when he noticed the intense glare of the amazon.
Diana saw the frightened look that the demigod had when her eyes met Orin’s. And she saw how Orin looked at the girl with so many emotions behind his eyes. Yet, not a single one was positive.
Orin was normally calm-headed. But he was still a god. And Diana met enough gods to know when one felt jealous and threatened.
“Do you want to tell me what that was about?” Diana asked with obvious anger in her voice.
Orin tried to avoid her question, “Tell you about what?”
Diana glare harshened, “What did you do that girl?”
“Nothing.” Orin tried to defend himself, “What makes you assume that I did something?”
“Do you think I’m stupid?” Diana demanded, “The moment that the girl met your eyes, she disappeared.”
“Maybe she realized that they shouldn’t be here.”
“Or maybe, she was scared of you.”
“I’m a god. A lot of people are scared of me.”
The answer was reasonable enough but Diana was trained by Athena herself. And she called bullshit.
There was more to it than that.
“She might’ve been scared of you, but you were jealous of her.” Diana retorted, observing the god with obvious suspicion.
Orin’s eyes flashed, “I am not jealous. Especially not of her.”
“Sure,” Diana muttered. “Let’s pretend that I believe you, who is she?”
“She is no one importa-“
A deafening sound interrupted him.
“What the-“
Both Diana and Orin took out the device producing the unpleasant sound. It was coming from the League phones.
Whenever the name of a demigod was mentioned in any League operational base, both Orin and Diana’s devices would produce a loud sound to inform them.
It was so that they could diffuse the situation before anyone found out about the world of the gods.
“Someone from the Young Justice league team mentioned a demigod’s name,” Orin informed her.
“Obviously,” Diana sarcastically said. “But which one?”
“Can you search up a Persephone Jackson?”
Diana nearly dropped her phone on the ground when she heard the name come out of Orin’s device.
“Where did they hear that name?”
Orin only shrugged, “Who knows?”
Diana really wanted to punch the god right now. He obviously knew something.
“Why can’t we just search her up?” she heard Wally suggest, “There’s bound to be something on her online.”
No one said anything for a few minutes before Wally’s voice sliced through the silence in a disbelief tone.
“Dude, where did you get her name? Do you have more? Cause she’s hot. Like really, really hot.”
Diana was pretty sure that Orin would’ve crushed the phone in rage when he heard that come out of Wally’s mouth.
She didn’t know whether she should be amused or scared.
Instead, she raised an eyebrow. “So you’re sure you don’t know where the team got the name?”
While some members of the Justice League might know about the existence of gods, that didn’t mean that they were informed of any of the demigods’ names.
Only the two of them knew the names. And since Diana wasn’t close with any of the younger heroes, only Orin would’ve let it slip.
The god’s face turned gold from embarrassment and inaudibly growled, “Okay, so maybe I let her name slip a few times when I was around Kaldur.”
Diana wasn’t satisfied with the answer but she nodded nonetheless. “How do you want to handle this? We still have to come up with an explanation with what happened here,” her eyes inspected her surroundings. “Not to mention that we still have to fix the damages.”
“I wouldn’t worry about it.” the god waved off her concerns about the demigod, “They won’t find be able to get answers from her.”
A shadow clouded over Diana’s face, “What do you mean by that?”
It was like Orin’s personality flipped.
Like the ocean.
He never looked more like a god than he did at this moment. His posture was one of royalty, his blue eyes were glinting with something she couldn’t decipher. And the smirk he was wearing put shivers down her spine. “The Olympians have plans for her.” his eyes skimmed over Diana as if she wasn’t important enough to know of their plans. “While this chat has been interesting, I have duties I need to attend.”
He evaporated into mist.
Diana let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding.
Persephone Jackson.
She’s heard of her.
She was a legend in the godly world. And she knew that the Olympians were fixated with the young demigod.
She’s heard whispers of what their plans could be
And if that was the demigod that appeared in front of them a few minutes ago, then-
No wonder Orin seemed to hate the demigod. She was his sister.
Half-sister . Diana could almost hear Orin’s annoyed voice correct. She’s only my half-sister.
She rolled her eyes, that demigod is not important my ass.
Diana knew how many gods felt about demigods. A lot of them didn’t like their kind due to a majority of them being illegitimate. Her stepmother, Hera, was a great example of that.
However, they were important to their culture. They were the reason that the heart of Olympus continued to burn. They were the reason that the gods haven’t been defeated yet.
But Diana also knew that children of the sea often had the fatal flaw of loyalty. A dominant trait that Triton, Orin, Rhode, and Kym inherited from their father.
Diana clenched her fist, it wasn’t fair.
She knew what it was like to have the gods obsessed with you. It never turned out good in the end.
They would break you down, make you feel like they care, and then they would play you like a puppet on a string. Pretending that they’re giving you a choice when in the end, you never had one in the first place.
If the Olympians were immersed in the young demigod— her heart twisted and Diana could feel a tear rolling down her face.
May the fates grant you luck, Persephone. she prayed in silence. You’ll need it.
Percy didn’t expect to wake up without a nightmare.
As she looked around, she noticed that she was in her dad’s underwater palace.
Poseidonis. She could still hear how amazed her voice was when she first saw it.
It was beautiful.
The main palace reminded Percy of the castle in ‘The Little Mermaid’. The only difference was that it wasn’t gold.
Instead, it was made with marble with arrays of pearls littered around the halls. As if they needed to prove that the royal family lived here.
Everything about this palace practically screamed elegance.
There was no doubt about it.
It scared Percy more than Tartarus ever did. Did the gods expect her to live here? In this huge, fancy palace. She didn’t belong with them.
How long would she have to stay?
As Percy continued to wander the halls, the uneasiness in her stomach only continued to grow. She wanted to go home.
Home.
Percy technically didn’t have a home anymore. Home was with her mom and Paul. Home was supposed to be with Estelle.
With Annabeth.
But they’re all gone now.
And it was all her fault.
Shuffling her feet, Percy glanced up at the luxurious door in front of her. They were double French doors that were thrice (honestly probably even more) the size of her with subtle golden engravings in them.
Should she just open it? Or is that rude? Maybe she should just knock.
As Percy lifted her hand, getting ready to knock on the giant door, it slowly swung open.
I guess everyone in the family has a flair for dramatics. She couldn’t help but think as she took a hesitant step forward, it’s not just uncle Z.
“Welcome to my palace, daughter.” Her father warmly greeted her as soon as Percy’s eyes met his.
Next to the god were the rest of his family. All of them unnaturally gorgeous. Percy felt like a cockroach next to them.
They haven’t even said a word towards her and she already felt out of place. They were wearing clothes that would’ve made any celebrity back on land jealous while Percy was still in her orange tattered camp half-blood shirt.
And the fact that they had tails didn’t help.
“Thank you for having me.” Percy tried to politely say, not having enough energy for a sarcastic remark.
Poseidon gave her a smile that could rival Apollo’s and began talking about how overjoyed he was that she decided to stay in his palace for the time being. He drawled on about how she would love it here if she just gave it time and something about lessons.
Percy only nodded, trying her hardest to pay attention to her father’s words. But her mind kept going back to the war and the events that followed after. Every time Percy blinked, all she could see were the corpses of her family.
She didn’t know how long she was in the throne room before her father announced that he had duties to attend. He gave her another small smile before flashing out of the room.
Amphitrite turned to Percy’s siblings, her golden blonde hair shining under the light. “Show the young demigod around,” she ordered, completely ignoring Percy’s presence as she before vanished in a flurry of vapor.
Percy didn’t know what to expect after that.
Some part of her craved for her siblings to like her. To accept her. Maybe they could have a close bond, similar to the one she and Tyson had.
But as she stood there, in front of them. She knew that it was unlikely.
The way their eyes studied her made her feel insignificant. Like she was worthless. Like she was nothing but dirt under their feet.
She didn’t belong here.
And they knew it.
Percy stared at the floor, trying her hardest not to show how uncomfortable she felt under their scrutinizing gaze.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, Kym spoke up, “Your room is this way, Persephone.”
The goddess gestured for her to follow, so she did.
She tried to ignore how the rest of her siblings seemed to be talking in hushed whispers about her.
Percy kept her mouth shut as she followed Kym around the palace until they got to her room.
When the storm goddess opened the large doors, Percy couldn’t help but let out a small gasp. “It’s so pretty,” she murmured, her eyes taking in the large space.
Kym gave her a weird look, “You’re a princess now, or at least you’re going to be. It should be obvious that your room is, uhm- pretty.”
“A princess?” Percy asked in shock, “I’m going to be a princess?”
Kym glanced at the other gods, “Did I just spoil the surprise?”
Although Orin’s eyes were firmed on Kym, she knew that the sharp smile he was wearing was directed at her. “Don’t worry, I’m sure you didn’t. It should’ve been obvious from the start that father wouldn’t just let some random demigod stay at his palace.”
Kym nodded with relief, before parts of her hair turned red, an eerie contrast compared to her usual algae-green one.
“Kym,” Rhode informed her sister, “Your domain needs you.”
The goddess stared at her sister in confusion before studying strands of her hair with her light brown hands. “That’s weird. My hair is only red when something big is threatening it.”
Triton shrugged, “Maybe it’s a fluke?” he offered.
Kym shook her head, “Probably. But it’s better to be safe than sorry.” she turned to Percy, “If you have any questions, there should be servants around to answer them."
The moment Kym disappeared, it was like the room suddenly grew cold.
Triton’s face turned to a sneer. “You do know that the only reason you’re even here is because father felt bad for you.” he looked at Percy with so much disgust that it caused her to flinch. “You know, he mentioned that you had no one left. I wonder- did you even try to save them? Or did you just leave?”
Percy’s eyes flashed in anger, “You have no ide-“
Rhode looked at her, a bored expression on her face as she waved off what Percy was trying to say with an interruption. “Yeah, yeah, we get it. We have no idea how hard your life is. We don't know what you've been through and we don't know how hard you tried to save them.” A bright light engulfed the room and Percy instinctively lifted her arm to shield her face as she shut her eyes.
Annabeth would kill her if she survived the war only to die because she saw a god’s true form.
After a minute, Percy brought her hand up and carefully opened them.
Three subtle, yet smug looks filled her vision. “We’re not the demigods you’re used to. We don’t care about whatever achievements you have. And we definitely won’t bow down to you just because you did a few remarkable things.”
“I’m not trying to make you bow down to me,” Percy argued, “I just- I-“
She faltered, not knowing how to tell them what she wanted them to know. The gods, however, took her silence with stride.
“Use your words,” Rhode mocked, “Dad’s already so busy, and now he has to teach you how to be a princess?”
Orin scrutinized her, “Do us a favor and try not to make his life harder. He doesn’t need another burden to bear.”
Percy silently nodded, not knowing how to reply to that.
She didn’t want to be a burden. Hades, she didn’t even want to be here in the first place. But Percy had nowhere else to go.
And the Olympians were watching her. She couldn’t just disappear off the face of the Earth. This was a kill two birds with one stone type of situation.
Plus, some part of Percy still craved to bond with her father. To have the actual father-daughter relationship that so many mortals seemed to have.
And maybe, just maybe, staying in his palace for a while would give her that. Even if it’s only for a short amount of time.
Triton met her eyes before looking at her legs. “Here’s some advice; have dad give you a tail of some sort. The people here don’t take kindly to um-“
He waited for someone to provide the word he was looking for.
Rhode’s cool blue eyes lit up, “Bastards,” the goddess smiled at Percy like she was just complimenting the demigod. “They don’t take kindly to bastards.”
“And if you could kindly excuse us, Persephone,” the second-born said, ushering his siblings out of her room. “We have important business to do.”
The moment Percy heard the door shut, she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding and tried to relax her shoulders.
It didn’t work.
Instead, she crumpled onto the bed and forced herself to ignore the ache she felt in her heart.
How did she manage to get her siblings to hate her even more? Percy couldn’t even blame them. Was that how she always sounded? Arrogant and conceited?
Percy didn’t try to sound that way. She just wanted a small break from their snide comments. Should she apologize?
Percy looked up at the ceiling, silently thanking whoever invented one-sided glass.
Seeing the ocean from this perspective was breathtaking. As her eyelids grew heavy, Percy couldn’t help but wonder what it was like to see this for the rest of eternity. How it was like to watch animals evolve into something else. How it was like to be immortal .
The necklace the gods gifted her grew warm, helping Percy rest once again.
Roy wanted to laugh at the hypocrisy of the Justice League.
He just got off a very long phone call with Dick and Wally, and he knew -
Knew that he made the right choice by not joining the stupid team.
Even though Roy had been mad when he stormed out during the day it was formed, he could read between the lines.
The Young Justice team was just a way for the League to manipulate their sidekicks. To control them.
And it was obvious too.
If Dick wasn’t so desperate to gain Batman’s approval, then Roy was sure that he would realize it as well.
They controlled which missions the team could go to. And even then, they were usually cover ops— though by the rants he usually received from both his friends, it usually didn’t end up being as discrete as the League wanted it to be.
And while Roy knew that a majority of the older superheroes believed that they were protecting them, it doesn’t change the fact that they weren’t. If the League just gave them clear answers on why they couldn’t go after certain people, then they probably wouldn’t.
For a bunch of people that are supposed to be Earth’s protectors, they can sure be very stupid.
And hypocritical.
Roy could go on for days about that topic. They try to discreetly bash Roy with small, snide comments on how going solo wasn’t safe, when a majority of them started the same way he did.
It made his blood run cold.
None of this would’ve happened in the first place if the League just treated their sidekicks as partners. If they just treated them with respect!
How hard could a small, rewarding, comment like “I’m proud of you.” or “Good job!” be to say.
With how fast Oliver replaced him with that blonde girl, he knew-
He knew that he was replaceable. That even though Oliver took in Roy, he could get rid of him just as easily.
So Roy did the job for him. He packed up and left the Queen Mansion without as much of a goodbye.
He rented out an apartment under a fall guise fairly easily. It was smaller than what he was used to, but that was understandable. He grew up in the Queen Mansion, after all.
Plus, if Oliver wanted to find Roy, he would’ve done it already. He had the resources for it.
For now, his life was as good as it was going to get. Even if he was bored. But then again, the whole deal with Athens sounded interesting.
Roy might not be on the best terms with a few people on the Young Justice team, but he, Dick, and Wally still share a close bond. And with all the free time he has, because he decided to drop out of school, he could investigate a lead or two.
After all, they were still his friends. He was sure that they would do the same for him when the time came.
Notes:
In this chapter, we finally get introduced to the one and only Roy Harper!! I still don't know if I should go with the OG young justice storyline where he's a clone or not. So if you guys have any idea on what I should do, leave a comment below.
We also get to see what the League was doing while Percy and the seven were fighting against Gaea!! Along with an interaction with Diana and Orin!! And just to clarify, just in case some people missed it-- In this AU; Diana is an immortal demigod who knows about the existence of the gods.
Speaking of interactions, we finally see Percy meeting her godly siblings. And don't you think that it was just a bit too convenient that Kym suddenly had to leave because of issues going through her domain? Especially since the rest of her siblings immediately ambushed Percy the moment she disappeared.
But anyways, I think I might write one or two more chapters before Percy joins the team. So look out for that, I guess.
If you have requests for me to write, send me a message on my tumblr
And if you want to be a beta reader, send me a message there as well
Chapter 6
Notes:
I’m back. I usually try to update once a month but October was super busy for me. Luckily, I had this chapter written back in July already.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
For the past few weeks, the team has been searching nonstop for Persephone Jackson.
So far, they’ve found nothing.
If you asked Conner about it, he thought that they should just give up. Everyone’s been scrounging for the tiniest bit of information about the girl.
At first, they thought that it would be easy to find her.
It wasn’t.
It was like she just disappeared off of the face of the Earth.
The articles about her spoke of kidnappings and explosions. But a lot of them focused on her beauty.
In a weird way, she reminded him of the pictures of Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Conner hasn’t had the chance to talk to them yet.
Like Superman, they tended to stay away from Mount Justice. He doesn’t know if they just don’t like the hideout in general or if they avoided it because of him.
Conner knew that his upbringing wasn’t the most… ideal. He was a clone, after all, created by a villain.
Conner was supposed to be a weapon that Luthor could use against the Justice League. It was pure luck that Robin and the others found him first.
He didn’t blame Superman for staying away from him, he really didn’t. He just wished that the Kryptonian could teach him how to control his powers.
It was hard.
And Conner was scared. They were treating him cautiously enough. What if he loses control and hurts one of his friends? Or worse, what if he accidentally kills someone?
He wouldn’t be able to live with himself. Conner needed to convince Superman to help train him.
He stared at the ruined wall, before it was too late.
Percy doesn’t know how long she’s been in her father’s kingdom. Time passed differently underwater…
Just like in Tartarus.
It’s been a few days since Percy last fell asleep. She knew that she needed to rest soon but it was so hard.
Percy knew that mortals often said that sleep was one of the only times where they can feel peaceful. When they’re asleep, they either dream about nothing or dream about a time where the world was brighter. A time where they were happier.
Percy did not have that blessing.
Whenever she fell asleep, she could hear the pained screams of each member of the seven.
She would hear them whisper about how it was all her fault. They would taunt her— if only she’d been faster. If only she‘d been stronger. It was all her fault.
And they were right, Percy let them all down.
If Percy tried hard enough, then maybe… maybe she would’ve been able to save one more person.
She knows that the thoughts she’s been having aren't healthy. It didn’t take a genius to know that you shouldn’t dwell on the maybes.
But no matter how hard she tried to stop, it was like someone was making her think all these thoughts.
Percy scoffed, the fates never got tired of her.
Her life was like a game to them. She wouldn’t be surprised if they had a competition called, “Who could make Percy’s life harder?” every Sunday or something.
Why couldn’t she have a break?
Percy was a fool to think that she could ever have one. It’s just-
She was the daughter of one of the strongest gods on Olympus. When Percy fell to Tartarus with Ann- her, she could see past the thin veil of mist that inhabited the abyss.
During that whole journey to find the doors of death, Percy wished that she was Annabeth. She wished she didn’t see what she saw. The grey-eyed demigod only saw the rocky, rough ground while Percy saw Tartarus’s true form.
She knew that they weren’t just walking on rocks. She knew that they were walking on his body. If Percy looked at the ground too closely, she could see the ghosts that were unlucky enough to wander into Tartarus, burning in his blood.
Sometimes, even while she was wide awake, Percy can hear the screams.
Percy knew that it was selfish to think it, but sometimes, she wished that her girlfriend saw what she saw.
It would’ve been nice to not feel so alone.
But instead, every time she glanced at her girlfriend, all Percy could see were the rose-tinted glasses that she didn’t even know she was wearing as they made their way through the pit.
Back then, she was jealous. But now, she would go through all of it again just to have another moment with the daughter of Athena.
Someone knocked on Percy’s door.
She made the tears falling down her cheeks disappear before calling out a soft, “Come in.”
Before she could blink, Percy could feel her father’s arms wrap around her body. Unconsciously, she leaned into it. She was beginning to get used to all the hugs he’s been providing her.
Secretly, she’s begun to crave them more.
They made her feel so warm— so loved. Sometimes, if she closed her eyes tight enough, Percy could pretend that it was her mom hugging her. Reminding her that she was worth it. That she was enough.
“How are you doing?” the god murmured, “Your teachers said that you were distracted during your lessons today.”
Percy’s face fell at the reminder, “I’m doing as good as I can be. I’ll do better next time, I promise.”
Poseidon’s eyes narrowed, “Is there anything else I can do to help make you become more comfortable? Do you want me to talk to anyone?”
Her mind drifted off to this morning.
“I was told that you were a hero.” Orin had suddenly said, cutting the heavy silence between them with a sharpened smile. “But what kind of hero gets everyone killed.”
Percy remembered clenching her fists up so hard that her fingernail pierced through her skin, drawing blood. She wasn’t mad at him, if anything, she was mad at herself. How could she get mad at someone who was telling the truth?
As if reading her mind— which shouldn’t be possible anymore because she was wearing the necklace- her dad gently grasped her hand.
“Percy,” his eyes were pleading. “I know that your siblings are difficult to deal with, but please, just keep trying to get along with them, they’re just jealous. They’ll get over it and then they’ll see how perfect you are.”
She wanted to scream and yell at Poseidon. Jealousy wasn’t a good enough excuse to break her down and humiliate her whenever they had the chance.
Yet, as she glanced up at the god, who looked at Percy with so much love, she couldn’t bring herself to disagree.
He was the only one she had left.
Percy only nodded and whispered a small, “I’ll try.”
He was the only one she had left. He was the only one who cared about her now.
She didn’t want to let him down.
After a few more minutes of talking, her father had to leave due to his duties, leaving her all alone once more.
She wonders when Apollo or Hermes will visit her next.
Those two gods seemed determined to help Percy get better. In a way, she feels like she’s starting to develop some sort of friendship with them.
Hanging out with them was… nice. It was a nice difference from how she was treated by her siblings and some of the nobles.
Those nobles could talk shit about Percy all they want, but she wouldn’t allow them to talk about her mother like she was some whore that spread her legs open to the first guy she saw.
It’s been a while since Percy’s lost her temper like that. She didn’t regret it. Everyone in the room was reminded that there was a reason that Percy was the daughter of Poseidon. That there was a reason that she was chosen to be one of the seven.
She would be lying if she didn’t find the shock in their faces amusing.
The aftermath, however, wasn’t worth it.
Percy vapor traveled to her room, immediately collapsing on the bed.
Percy was different from the demigod she was before. Ever since she lost her mom, she’s been quieter, more submissive.
She knew that the gods noticed the change in her attitude— it was such a big change from the sarcastic, loud mouth she was before- but even then, they said nothing. When she gathered up enough courage, she asked Apollo about it.
Percy hated how those cerulean blue eyes of his looked at her with so much pity. His voice softened, continuing to treat Percy like she was some victim as he carefully explained that her behavior was normal.
She remembered seeing her girlfriend on the night of her outburst. Deep down, she knew it was a hallucination. It just-
She looked so real.
Percy slowly reached out, hoping that if she was careful enough, she would be able to feel the familiar warmth of the blonde’s skin.
It didn’t work.
And to make it worse, her father barged into her room a few seconds later, his voice full of frustration as he talked about why she needed to stop with all of her outbursts.
She didn’t hear the rest of his lecture, all she could see was Gabe, ready to hit her with another glass bottle as talked about how lucky Percy was that she had a pretty face.
Cause if she didn’t…
The change in her dad’s voice brought her out of her flashback. Gabe never talked to her in that tone. He was always yelling and screaming and his fists would always find their way towards her chest.
Gabe's voice was never this soft, this… full of disappointment.
She was tired. And all she wanted was to be left alone so Percy nodded, muttering about how sorry she was, ignoring the cruel snickers of her siblings.
When her dad left, all she could hear was the last sentence he said to her.
“I just want you to be safe, Percy. I don’t want the things I love to get hurt.”
Percy sighed, cuddling deeper into the sheets.
She doesn’t wanna think about that night anymore. She wants to forget about it.
One day. She promised the hallucination, its grey eyes boring at her. One day, I’ll go back to having that old attitude.
And she will. She didn’t know when, but she will. She just needed to have more energy. Right now, having that attitude was so much work, and Percy’s been so tired after the war.
Her coronation was in a few days. A week after that, she’ll make her move and the gods would never be able to find her again.
Kym glared at her sister. “Don’t you think that what you told her was a bit harsh? Even by your standard.”
Rhode let out a soft and airy laugh, “It was a metaphor.”
“Well, she heard your message loud and clear.” Kym snapped, her hair glowing. “Why can’t you guys just leave her alone. She did nothing to you.”
Triton turned to the angry goddess, unimpressed. “You tried to kill her,” he reminded. “Until her friend offered you some small action figures.”
“Killing her would’ve been mercy compared to what you guys are putting her through.”
The three immortals exchanged smirks and Kym felt the water around her get colder as shivers went down her spine.
The tone of Orin’s voice made Kym flinch. “I don’t know how you got so attached to that mortal, but trust me when I say that we’re only getting started.”
Rhode looked at Kym with wide eyes, “Why can’t you join us Kym?” she asked, “All of us used to have so much fun whenever one of dad’s bastard children stayed at their castle. We made their lives miserable.”
“I know.” Kym frowned as she stared at her older siblings defiantly, “But she’s been through so much. She deserves a break.”
Kym continued to plead, trying to get them to see sense. But it wasn’t working.
“Sorry, Kym.” Her oldest brother apologized, not looking sorry at all. “But as long as she stays in this castle, her life will only continue to get worse.”
Her siblings watched as Kym’s green hair glowed, an indicator that she was frustrated as she stormed out of the room.
Percy was different from the other demigods. And it was just her luck that her siblings were narcissistic buffoons.
Deep down, Kym knew that it wasn’t entirely their fault. When a god gets jealous, their instincts get erratic. They usually can’t control it.
But she couldn’t get the image of their eyes out of her mind. They enjoyed what they were doing to Percy.
They loved how the pretty little demigod was slowly breaking in front of their eyes. Even if she hasn’t realized it yet.
And whether Percy knew it or not, everything was going according to plan.

Chapter Text
It’s been established throughout Olympus that Diana was not an idiot. The gods knew that they shouldn’t mess with her.
Even before the incident.
The demigoddess sighed, running her hand through her hair as she scrunched her eyebrows.
“You know,” a voice said, bringing her out of her thoughts. “Nothing in there will help you figure out what our parents are planning.”
Diana turned around, already feeling the intense gaze of the god in front of the door. Every step he made echoed throughout her ears.
Before she could even blink, Orin was directly in front of her. She forced her head up, easily identifying the smirk the god wore on his face. He always did like to remind her of the height difference between them.
“What are you doing here?” Diana snapped, quickly looking away.
“You’re in one of the Justice League headquarters.” The words were uttered so gently that even Hermes would’ve believed the prince’s intentions behind the sentence. Luckily enough for her, Diana wasn’t her half-brother. “And I’m part of the Justice League… am I not?”
Her patience ran thin. She couldn’t do this. Not now. Diana turned back around so she didn’t get the urge to scratch Orin’s pretty face open with her fingernails.
“I’m not in the mood for your games tonight.”
She could feel his eyes narrow, “No one’s playing any games with you.” Orin stated, a corner of his lip tugging up. “Not anymore.”
Diana didn’t know what happened next. All she knows is that she has one hand wrapped around the god’s throat and the other against the wall.
Orin only smirked. “If you wanted your body against mine, all you had to do was ask, princess.”
Diana forced herself to calm down as she hesitantly removed her hand away from his throat. “There’s nothing between us.” she spat out. “Not anymore.”
Orin tilted his head towards the side as he studied her. “I wonder why you’re so worked up. You can usually handle my presence with a lot more grace than this.”
Diana crossed her arms. “It’s none of your business.”
The god said nothing for a few seconds before he let out a cold laugh. The sound made the ichor in her blood shiver.
“But it involves my bastard of a sister, does it not?” When Diana didn’t answer, he continued. “Well, sorry to burst your bubble, your highness, but my father made it clear that anything that involved that, involved me.” His eyes narrowed, “So whatever you’re doing is, in fact, my business.”
Diana’s eyes flashed in anger, “You do know that your sister saved Olympus right? The least you could do is say her name properly.”
“Please.” He scoffed. “So what if she saved Olympus? THAT’S THE PURPOSE OF ALL DEMIGODS! They’re created to protect us gods! That was all they were good for then, that’s all they’re good for now!” He sneered at her. “But then again, that’s why you’re so desperate to find answers. Huh?“
Diana’s eyes hardened. “Stop acting like you know what I’m thinking. You can’t read my mind.”
The not anymore went unsaid but she knew that the god heard it.
This time, the laugh he let out was full of amusement. “Pretend all you want, sweetheart. But out of all the gods, I was the one that knew you best. There’s a reason that you were supposed to be my bride.”
“There’s also a reason that the wedding was canceled.”
Orin’s eyes grew darker at the reminder. “Yeah,” he admitted, albeit softly. “There was.”
Orin said the last part in a softer tone and it reminded her of how he used to be. Back when everything was less complicated. Back when everything was easier.
Back when she was naive and easily manipulated.
“We’re getting off-topic.” The god suddenly said, “Stop getting involved in things that don’t require your assistance. I thought you would’ve learned your lesson after last time.”
“Don’t talk about that night.” Diana hissed in anger, her eyes clouding up. “You don’t deserve to! Not after what you did!”
“I did what I had to do.”
“You ruined my life.”
It was Orin’s turn to turn around, “I did what I had to do.” He coldly repeated.
He walked away from the immortal demigoddess, pretending he didn’t see the tears begging to fall from her eyes. As far as he was concerned, his job was done.
The god ignored the heavy feeling pulling down his chest.
Percy doesn’t know what she preferred more. The constant insults or the awkward silence.
Her coronation was tomorrow and her father wanted Percy to go over the routine again. He didn’t want anything to go wrong, meaning Percy couldn’t afford to mess up.
The day needed to be perfect.
It made Percy want to roll her eyes. No pressure, she thought, no pressure at all.
Triton led her into the ballroom. He still hasn’t said anything except for the occasional ‘this is what you’re gonna do here’ and ‘what you’re gonna say in this situation’.
It was weird.
Other than Kym, she’s never spent time with any of her siblings without one of them insulting her.
Right now, the hostile atmosphere was replaced by the sheer awkwardness between the two of them. She doesn’t know why Triton’s acting like this. And she doesn’t know if she liked it.
The fates can put her up against monsters, gods, titans, and anything else they want.
But silence?
Percy can’t deal with it. Not after what happened the first time she went to boarding school.
Still, she looks up at Triton, she doesn’t know what to talk with her brother about.
As if he sensed her about to open her mouth, the god suddenly stopped and faced her. His face was blank and his eyes were as unsympathetic as ever.
Triton’s voice cut through the air the same way that Riptide cut open monsters. “Father needs your coronation to go well and he’s asked me to make sure that you don’t do what you do best and mess things up again. If you make a mistake, I’ll be blamed for it.“ He assessed her quickly and disgust overtook his features. “Plus,” his eyes narrowed. “Don’t you think that you’ve messed up enough?”
Percy felt her mouth go dry. She couldn’t bring herself to speak. And even if she could, she wouldn’t know what to say.
Triton sighed, “First you ruin my family and now you don’t even have the decency to bother and reply back?”
Percy said nothing and Triton’s eyes gleamed. It was only the two of them but she couldn’t help but feel like she was surrounded by a pack of wolves. “I don’t know how Father expects you to be a princess when you can’t even protect your lover. Much less your friends.”
Flashbacks of the battle entered Percy’s mind. She remembers letting go of Piper’s hand. She remembers how Jason tried to save his girlfriend but he failed.
She felt useless.
Percy hears the screams that her friends let out as the vines ripped their skin open.
It was her fault.
She sees Annabeth’s body in front of her. She remembered pleading for her wise girl to stay strong.
To stay alive.
It didn’t work.
Percy never got the chance to say goodbye.
She failed.
Triton watched the demigod in satisfaction. He could hear her breaths deepen and he knew that memories of the war had made their way back to her head.
She really was too easy to break.
Her eyes were blank and Triton couldn’t help but smirk. He waited for a few more minutes before walking away.
The brat should be back with him by now, her stupid little episode almost over.
Triton didn’t bother looking back, knowing that Percy would follow him. He couldn’t wait to see her squirm uneasily next to him again.
They should’ve taken advantage of her weakness with silence a lot earlier.
Percy stared at the attire on her bed.
As far as she could tell, the dress was off-shoulder. The upper portion was lacy and while it would hug her waist uncomfortably, it doesn’t change the fact that the gown was absolutely breathtaking.
She reached out to touch the silky fabric. It was soft.
“I can’t wait to see you in that dress, princess.” A voice behind her said. “The green matches your eyes.”
Percy let out an embarrassing squeak as she hurried to turn around. Her face turned red as she met Apollo’s eyes.
No one said anything for a few seconds before the god lowered his gaze and licked his lips before he sent her a sly smile. “As much as I’m enjoying the view, you’re father would kill me if he found me in your bedroom while you have nothing but your εσώρουχα on.”
It took a while before his words registered in her mind. In a haste, Percy grabbed the nearest blanket and wrapped it around her body.
Apollo looked at her with amusement. “So,” he said. “Did you want me to see you in your night attire or did you simply forget that you invited me over?”
Percy furrowed her brows, “Honestly, I don’t remember inviting you over at all.” she admitted, wrapping the blanket around her body tighter as she felt her face heat up. “And for your information, this is not what I wear to sleep.”
“Do you sleep naked then, αγάπη μου?” Percy was suddenly aware of how close the god’s body was to hers.
When did that happen?
Percy took a step back. While she was used to the god’s flirtatious personality, it still made her uncomfortable when those advancements were used on her.
She ignored his question by asking a question of her own. “Mind telling me why I invited you here?”
Apollo stared at her for a few seconds, “You weren’t kidding.” He muttered. “You really did forget.” The god’s shoulders drooped and it made Percy feel bad.
How stupid did she have to be to forget that she invited the archer over?
Percy bit the inside of her cheek before deciding that Apollo looked too much like a sad golden retriever. She hesitantly walked closer towards him, the ends of the blanket dragging next to her feet.
She stared at the floor as she apologized, “I’m sorry. I guess the coronation is getting to me. It must’ve slipped my mind.”
“It’s alright,” the god brightly smiled, his mood doing a huge one-eighty. “The last few days must’ve been hard on you.”
He had no idea.
Apollo’s hand brushed against her thigh. The touch made her skin shiver.
She tried to subtly move away, but it didn’t work. The archer grabbed her hand and the slow caress he made Percy want to throw up.
And she doesn’t know why!
His touch was so gentle and sweet and not unlike how a husband would hold his lover’s hand.
Why was she acting this way?
It doesn’t make sense!
People have touched her in worst, disgusting ways that made Percy want to tear her skin open knowing that her body will never be clean again. No matter how hard she scrubs.
Apollo’s mouth continued to move but Percy couldn’t comprehend the words that came out.
The night blurred and the last thing Percy remembered was Apollo flashing her the warm smile that never failed to make her feel better.
There was something different though.
The sky blue eyes that were filled with so much compassion was replaced with something dark and sinister.
Before Percy could think more about it, all she sees is black and all she feels is the burning imprint of a hand on her thigh.
Notes:
So…
what did you think?
I know that this update is a bit late but it’s been a tough few weeks. Which is why this chapter is a bit rough.
It’s definitely not my best work but at least it works, you know?
The plot thickens and if you read close enough, there are hints of what Percy’s childhood was like.
Enjoy :)

Chapter Text
It wasn't a secret to anyone that she's been having a hard time sleeping after the war. Percy was hoping that somehow, someway, she would be able to get proper rest last night.
Today was her coronation after all.
But alas, she was wrong. Percy scoffed, what else is new.
She woke up the same way she always did, her heart rapidly beating in her chest as she struggled to find air.
It was worse today though. Her head hurt and she was sore.
Why was she so sore?
Percy tried to get up but her legs wouldn't cooperate. They burned and they ached and she couldn't move them.
The feeling was familiar to her. Too familiar, her mind traitorously whispered.
Percy ignored it. She was in the ocean. The ocean was supposed to protect her. It was supposed to keep her safe.
And even with all his flaws, her father wouldn't-
He wouldn't let anyone touch her like that. Not again. Percy was sure of it.
And even though her siblings hated her, they had their boundaries. Sure, their words hurt but they haven't hurt her physically.
Percy was just overreacting. Something probably happened yesterday that she forgot. She's been forgetting lots of things lately. Lots of important things.
Like the fact that she invited Apollo over last night.
She doesn't know how that slipped her mind. Apollo was someone in her life that was easily becoming important to Percy. There was no way that she forgot his planned visit.
And there was no way that she would have forgotten what they did. Percy scrunched her eyebrows, thinking hard.
She remembers staring at the dress. Apollo appearing, her becoming confused because she forgotforgotforgot. She remembers his teasing remarks, how he caressed her hand, how his eyes didn't give her the same warmth they usually did, and how-
"Percy." A knock interrupted her thoughts, "I'm coming in."
Before she could utter a word, her dad was in the room, a big smile engulfed his face as happiness radiated off of him in waves, distracting her enough to realize that the burning stopped. She's never seen Poseidon like this. Not even when they won the wars.
"Today's the day." He exclaimed as he walked around her room, a small hop emphasizing every other step he made. "Today's the day my daughter officially becomes the princess of Atlantis. Today's the day you become a part of my family."
Percy stayed quiet, not knowing what to say. This was it. This was what all her lessons were preparing her for. Percy would have to be on her best behavior today.
She couldn't afford to mess up.
Percy glanced up at her dad, if not for her. Then she'd do it for him. She doesn't know what she'd do if she was the cause of his ruined mood.
- - - - - -
"Thank you," Percy softly said as she met the mermaid's eyes through the mirror.
Keani's light blue skin flushed as her gaze lowered, choosing to focus on her hands as she styled Percy's hair. "I'm only doing what I've been ordered to do, princess." She faltered before continuing, "This mere assignment should not be enough to earn me your gratitude."
Percy forced a soft smile on her face, clenching the fabrics of her dress. Before she could respond to the mermaid's statement, a voice cut in. "You should accept the acknowledgment." The tone was surprisingly gentle, "It is not every day that Atlantis hosts an event like this. To be chosen to help; well- it is a great honor." Rhode's blue eyes shifted in her direction, surveying Percy's looks for a long minute before a seemingly genuine smile graced the goddess's features, "And from what I'm seeing you deserve that honor. You made the demigod look breathtaking."
Percy didn't believe it was possible but Keani's face flushed even more. "It was no problem, your highness. I barely had to do anything. It was an easy task."
The goddess met Percy's eyes and they flashed gold for a brief second before it turned back to its original color. "I suppose you're correct." Rhode pursed her lips, "Can you leave us? I need to talk to the demigod."
Keani lowered her head towards the goddess, muttering an "of course, your highness" before swimming out the door.
For the first time, Percy got the first word in. "What do you want?" she asked.
The goddess only smirked, "Watch your tone, demigod. Dad might be forcing everyone to accept you as a princess of the seas but you'll always be an outsider."
Rhode didn't need to remind her. Percy knew.
It was hard to stay oblivious to that fact when she swam with legs while everyone else had tails. And it's not like she could even pretend that she belonged. Not when her dad's kids did everything they could to remind her that she hated them.
Percy met Rhode's eyes, her mouth spitting out words before she could comprehend what she was saying.
The next part was a blur that ended with Percy falling to the ground with a sick thud that echoed throughout her mind. Her vision began to fog and it wasn't long before she was back on a ship.
The ship that killed Charles Beckendorf.
And the very same ship where Lu- no Kronos. It was Kronos- Kronos declared that she would become his queen.
No matter what Apollo tried to do, he couldn't get rid of the smile on his face. He knew it was only a matter of time before one of his siblings appeared at his door, demanding to know why the fuck the sun was so bright today.
Apollo shrugged, it's not like it was his fault. He didn't ask for the stupid chariot to be connected to his emotions.
"What the fuck did you do?"
Speak of the devil.
"I didn't do anything."
"Your smirk says otherwise."
"Excuse me-" Apollo was offended, "I was not smirking. I was smiling."
"You might be able to fool the others, but you can't fool me." Hermes narrowed his eyes, "So drop the act. What the fuck did you do?"
The corner of his mouth tilted up, making his smirk more obvious. "I met up with our princess last night."
Hermes immediately took the seat next to him. "How?" he asked, "She didn't invite you over last night. She didn't invite anyone over last night."
Apollo's eyes glinted, "I know. Trust me, I do. But I felt that she was off-"
"She hasn't been the same since the war." His brother interrupted, "You know that."
"Yes," Apollo agreed. "I do know that. But it was different this time. I could feel it." He glanced at his brother, "You should've been able to feel it too."
Hermes said nothing, so Apollo continued.
"I know that Triton was going over her routine. And we all know that they still haven't warmed up to Percy yet, so whatever happened between those two-"
"How bad was it?"
Apollo's smile disappeared, "It was pretty bad but I made sure to take it easy on her, even after she passed out.
"You didn't-" Hermes started, "Poseidon will kill you. If you-"
"Don't worry," Apollo rolled his eyes, whilst reassuring his brother. "Our uncle might be desperate to turn Percy immortal, but even I know that fucking her with my dick would be crossing his line," He licked his lips, "My fingers, though, are a whole different story."
A smirk made its way onto Hermes's face, "Tell me about it." His brother demanded, wanting-no. Needing the details.
So who was Apollo to deny Hermes what he wanted?
Percy was a long-term project after all.
Their long-term project.
It would take a while but it will happen. Athena herself confirmed it.
They just had to be patient.
The gods have their own part to play in this plan and Apollo knows that they'd all play it perfectly.
Millennials might have passed but in the end, gods were gods. The time that passed wasn't wasted though. They all learned new tricks and lucky enough for her, Persephone Jackson would be the first- and maybe only- woman that'd ever get to experience them.
Old habits die hard and the gods-
The gods always got what they wanted.
Notes:
And that’s a wrap.
I know, trust me I do. The chapter’s seven months late…
But hey, better late than never, right?
I’m not even going to lie, I feel like this chapter sucks. It’s rushed and I’m honestly grasping at straws right now because writing this fanfic is beginning to get harder and harder.
Especially cause I feel like this whole fic just sucks.
I’m hoping that all my doubts are just my head messing with me cause it seems like people are enjoying these chapters. And people enjoying what I write is enough of a reason for me to not abandon this fic.
Enough with that, this isn’t my diary after all.
Like always, leave a comment. We all know how much I love reading and replying to them. They’re also good motivation so…
Speaking of comments, if you have any ideas or suggestions or criticism on this fic, please tell me. They’d help a ton!!

Chapter Text
Today was the day.
Poseidon has been waiting for ages for it to come. He couldn't believe the coronation was finally here. He couldn't believe that today was the day his daughter became an official part of the royal family. The day she became part of his family.
He didn't know how many times those thoughts repeated in his head. How many times he said it out loud, bursting with enthusiasm with a smile stretched wide. Poseidon doesn't know the last he's been this excited.
"You look happy." An amused voice pointed out.
Poseidon turned around as he faced the Olympians. Even Zeus's annoying voice couldn't damper his mood.
"Brothers!" He exclaimed, surprising all three of them when he rushed to give them a giant hug. Poseidon knows that they'd deny it, but he swears that Zeus and Hades melted into the embrace. They even awkwardly patted his back when they didn't know what to do with their hands! "I'm so happy you all could make it!"
Hestia wore a soft smile on her face but before he could greet her, Aphrodite glided forward with a knowing glint in her eyes. "I think I speak for everyone when I say that we wouldn't be anywhere else."
Poseidon nods. He knew that. The Olympians cared about Percy almost as much as he did.
Almost was there because Percy was his daughter. It was only natural that Poseidon cared about Percy more than they did.
They loved her and in his head it made sense. After all, who wouldn't love his daughter?
He noticed Apollo and Hermes exchange smirks and Poseidon's cheery attitude was gone in an instant.
Although, he glared at the two gods. Some of them loved his daughter a little too much for his liking.
Apollo and Hermes froze, feeling the sea gods' piercing glare on their backs. They slowly turned to face him with pale complexions and weak smiles. Poseidon doesn't say anything, he just continued to scowl at the two gods who were actively trying to win his daughter's heart.
"Hi uncle," Hermes broke the silence. "How are y-"
Around him, the water grew ice cold as Poseidon narrowed his eyes and scowled even harder. If you looked closely, ice began to wrap itself around Hermes's legs.
The god shut his mouth.
Apollo grabbed the messenger's wrist, not very discreetly using his powers to melt the ice on his brother's calves. "I think we have to go, uncle. I hear the fish calling for us. They're uh- pleading for help...?" He trailed off, ending the sentence with a questioning tone.
Hermes didn't seem to notice because heimmediately agreed with Apollo, "Yes. I um- hear that too. A hundred peercent!"
The two swam away in haste, desperate to get away from Poseidon's obvious murderous intent toward them.
Pride filled Poseidon from his head to his tails. He still got it.
"You know... you can't chase away every suitor of hers." Hades drawled from behind him.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Poseidon knew what he was talking about.
When he turned around, he could tell that Hades knew he was lying. "As of now, Hermes and Apollo are the only insistent ones." His eldest brother crossed his arms impatiently, "But as the days pass and as we begin to heal from the war. More gods will join in."
"They can try." Poseidon stubbornly said, meeting Hades's gaze head-on. "I just won't let them come near Percy at all."
Hades sighed and turned to Zeus for help. His little brother closed his eyes painfully. "Hades is right."
By now, they were the only ones left in the area. The other gods have disappeared.
The King of the Underworld looked unimpressed. "Did that hurt for you to admit?"
Zeus ignored him, facing Poseidon. "It's not a secret that a majority of immortals are infatuated with your daughter. All of this-" Zeus waved his hand around, "Will only fuel it. Once Artemis is done recruiting new members for her hunt, you know that she'll join in. She'll probably try to recruit Percy as well. As for Ares... Well- we all know that he's been obsessed with her ever since she defeated him."
"That's four gods already after your daughter's heart." Hades not-so-kindly pointed out. "Olympian gods."
"I can scare away any god." Poseidon insisted, not understanding what the problem was. "Olympian or not."
Two groans simultaneously filled the ocean. "I forgot just how stubborn you could be." Hades shook his head. "Now we know where Percy gets it from."
Poseidon wanted to interject and point out that Sally was part of the reason too. She was plenty stubborn. Some would even argue that she was more stubborn that him. It was one of the reasons that he fell in love with her.
He was about to voice his thoughts but he faltered.
Thinking about her made him itch with guilt.
He forced thoughts of her out of his skull, trying to destroy its very existence the same way his waves have destroyed cities.
The faster he forgets about what he's- no. What they've done, the better.
- - -
"You've outdone yourself, Poseidon," Athena said, looking at the room with wonder. "Even I have to admit that everything looks amazing."
"Of course it does." He stated, annoyed. "It's my daughter's coronation. It has to be perfect."
"And it will," Athena confirmed, grey eyes gleaming under the light. "Everything will go perfectly." The wisdom goddess assured, turning away before suddenly, she stilled. Athena opened her mouth, then furrowed her eyebrows. But instead of a word coming out of her mouth, she just swam away.
He blinked in confusion. That was not a normal Athena thing to do.
He doesn't know how long he's been staring at the empty spot in front if him before he heard, "Father, it's starting soon. We have to take our place." from behind him.
Poseidon nodded in acknowledgment and followsedhis eldest to the back of the room.
Time passed and when the crowd went silent, Poseidon knew that it was about to begin.
The room darkened and you could barely hear the orchestra when awed murmurs filled the air as the jellyfish above them glowed bright, looking like stars in the night sky if the stars were translucently blue.
An abundance of small fish entered the room and behind them laid his daughter. Their gazes met and Poseidon could feel her amazement deep in his ichor.
She's wearing the sea green dress that Poseidon thought hugged her figure a bit too much.
(But when he voiced his thoughts during the meeting, a single glare from Aphrodite made him shut his mouth.
Even he knew better than to argue against the goddess when it came to fashion.)
Percy's wavy hair was in a half-up, half-down style. Two strands were left at the front, framing her face. On her ears were simple pearls that he remembered giving to her after the first war.
On her neck was the necklace that the Olympians gifted her. The necklace that held all of the Olympian's symbols within the simple omegan charm.
The necklace that claimed Percy as theirs.
Sadly, this was was also the same necklace that allowed Percy to keep her thoughts to herself. If they weren't given explicit permission from Percy herself, it wouldn't let anyone read her mind.
However, Poseidon couldn't bring himself to get too sad. Losing the ability to read his daughter's mind was a worthy sacrifice for what they gained instead.
On his left, Triton shifted. Poseidon discreetly glanced down. "Behave." He whispered, a warning clear in his voice. "This is an important day. None of your tricks and the deceits against your sister are going to happen this evening. Do you understand?" He hissed.
Triton stilled before nodding. "Yes Father, I understand."
"Do your siblings?"
Poseidon watched Triton glance at Orin and Rhodes, something ugly appeared in their eyes but it disappeared just as quickly. "They do now."
And that was that.
He turned his attention back to his daughter, his sight being drawn to her legs. He knew that he should've given her a tail by now but everyone told him that it wasn't time yet.
They told him to be patient.
With every step she took, the ground beneath her lit up. Everyone's eyes were on her, watching.
Waiting.
When Percy reached the step below his, she curtsied. "Father," Her voice was soft but everyone could hear it clearly.
"Daughter." He bowed his head before saying, "You may rise."
The rest of the ceremony continued without any problems. Percy acted accordingly, repeating the phrases and promises with certainty and confidence. There was no hesitation. No mistakes.
Something that shocked a lot of people.
A majority of the nobles believed that Percy would make a fool of herself. He knew his children thought the same. They all believed that Percy would humiliate herself.
It was clear that Percy paid more attention to the tutors more than anyone thought she would.
A manta ray swam near him, a beautiful silver tiara carefully laid on her back. It was small and simple- something he knew Percy would appreciate- but beautifully made. It was made of pearls and diamonds. Its pattern was the same as the ones his daughters were wearing right now.
Percy lowered her head and Poseidon delicately put the emblem on her hair. Under the light, it shimmered and Poseidon doesn't dissuade the appearance of the soft smile on his face.
"Welcome to the family, Persephone." He whispered so only they could hear it.
Poseidon held his hand in front of her and Percy gracefully took it. Together, they walked towards where everyone in his family was standing.
No one other than him saw the way her eyes lingered at their tails.
The crowd below them cheered and when Percy turned to face them, she had a small smile on her face.
(If Poseidon couldn't feel the emptiness in her soul, he would've believed that the smile was genuine)
Triton couldn't believe that the bastard's coronation went as smoothly as it did. He was positive that she was going to humiliate herself in front of everyone.
He watched and waited for her to trip as she walked toward them. He waited for her to stumble with her words. To say the wrong thing so her face would turn red with shame as the room filled with laughter.
He waited and waited for an opportunity and if his father's warning didn't scare him as much as it did, then he would've made the opening himself.
Triton would've manipulated the sand around her ankle and forced it to bring her to her knees. He knew that a lot of the visitors would've loved to see that happen.
The great Persephone Jackson on her knees in front of them.
It was such a shame that it didn't happen. Triton would've loved to see the look of despair on her face. He wondered if tears would've fallen down her cheeks.
None of his siblings managed to make her cry yet. It was surprising. She was easy to break but for some reason, her eyes refused to weep. It was beginning to be an annoyance.
Triton wanted to see Percy cry before she left.
Speaking of the bastard-
Where was she?
He scanned the room but she was nowhere in sight. He moved through the crowd, easily shifting through the sea of dancing nobles.
Athena stepped in front of him, shaking her head. "Not yet." She told him, "It's not the right time."
He crossed his arms, both his tails flicking with annoyance. "And how exactly am I supposed to know when the right time is?"
"When she appears, then that's when you'll head over." Athena paused before continuing, "Your brother should be familiar with this tactic."
Understanding filled Triton's eyes. "Are you serious?" He asked harshly, despite already knowing the answer. "I thought you promised my father that you wouldn't be using the same strategy you used last time."
This was the same plan Athena used on Diana. The same plan that caused Orin to be distraught for ages. If it wasnt for this strategy, Orin would be happily married to the Amazon. His eyes wouldn't be filled with pain every time he talked about her. He wouldn't have to shoot longing glances whenever her back was turned.
And more importantly, Triton wouldn't have wasted years of his life consoling his broken-hearted brother.
"I promised Poseidon that the plan would be successful in every way. And trust me, it will." At this, Athena took a step bacl tilting her head left. Triton turned his in the same direction. "I think your sister needs your help."
He shot her a quick glare before heading toward Percy.
Her back was on the wall and in front of her was the son of one of the ambassadors. One arm was against the stone, trapping Percy and his other hand was under her dress, slowly rubbing circles against her hip.
The demigod's eyes were glazed over, an obvious sign that she was experiencing a flashback. Her breathing was beginning to get heavier but the merman didn't notice. Instead, he continued to whisper whatever filthy plans he was going to do to her.
If Triton was his father, the man would've been killed immediately. By now, he would've been nothing but ash.
Luckily for merman, Triton was not his father.
But that did nothing to stop him from rushing forward and punching the man with all of his strength.
He was in front of Percy, eyes glowing with rage as he held out his arm. His trident appeared in a circle of bubbles.
Threats against the man and his family left his mouth before he could even comprehend what he was saying. He didn't realize that he's gotten close enough to tilt the piece of filth's head up with his trident until the action was done. "Am I understood?" He growled, not releasing his trident until the guy nodded frantically.
Triton stepped back, watching the man sink to the ground, looking up at him with so much fear that one would've thought he was Typhon, before swimming like the Kraken was after him.
He turned and registered Percy's look of shock. Triton can't even fault her reaction. He didn't think-
He never considered that his response to saving her would be that intense.
Triton desperately wanted to convince himself that if he wasn't assigned this task, then he would've left her there for the man to enjoy.
Yet-
He heard Percy struggle to form tangible words and if it was any other time, he would have berated her for it but right now, he couldn't care less. Triton needed to get as far away from her as possible.
From the corner of his eye, he sees Apollo and Hermes heading toward them. His job was done and it was their turn to complete whatever it was they were meant to do.
He feels a familiar piercing gaze and Triton meets it head-on.
Athena.
The goddess stared at him for a few seconds before a smirk formed on her face as she raised her wine glass at him.
The puzzle began to piece itself in his head.
Loyalty.
His fatal flaw.
Percy's coronation.
That stupid tiara on her head.
Family. Family. Family!
Whether he wanted it or not, Percy was part of his family now. It didn't matter if she was an illegitimate bastard. Despite it making no sense, his fatal flaw deemed it necessary that he owed her some loyalty.
Blood is thicker than water. He was beginning to understand the phrase now.
The goddess played him like a fool.
The plan was meant for him as much as it was meant for Percy.
Her words echoed throughout his brain. "I promised Poseidon that the plan would be successful in every way."
In every way.
He scoffed in annoyance, so she did learn something from her mistakes during Diana's ascension after all.
Notes:

Chapter Text
The ocean was spinning and the only thing Percy could hear was her heartbeat hammering against her chest. She wanted to stand but her legs were shaking from what- Shock? Fear? All of the above?
He’s gone. You’re safe. She repeated the words in her head like a mantra.
Percy tried to assure herself that she was okay but it didn’t work. Her mind kept replaying the scene from earlier.
“You’re Persephone Jackson, right?”
The man had greeted her, catching her alone. Percy just nodded and smiled, discreetly trying to look for a way out of the conversation without seeming rude.
But then, the distance between the two grew smaller. With every inch that the man glided forward, she took a step back.
Like always, her bad luck caught up and it didn’t take long for Percy to run out of space. Soon enough, her body was against the wall and the man smiled, victory in his eyes.
A shiver ran up her spine and Percy tried to look around, wanting someone to notice what was happening and help her.
The man pressed one of his palms against the wall beside her head while he used his other to force her to look at him.
“You’re as beautiful as they claim you are.” He leaned in. She could feel his breath on her ear.
Percy froze. Her stomach felt like it was consuming the flames from the river of Phlegethon once again. It was churning with heat. She felt like she was going to throw up.
She struggled, trying to will her body to move but it was as if an outside force was forcing her to stay still. When her mind tried to tell her body to shove him away, her body didn’t follow.
Percy was stuck.
She couldn’t do anything but watch as the hand that was holding her cheek was suddenly under her dress, trailing higher and higher.
Her breath caught and the world spun.
When it snapped back into focus all she could see were golden eyes.
Percy was back on the Princess Andromeda and Kronos was there, wearing Luke’s face. The Titan leaned in, lips touching her neck, tracing circles on her inner thigh.
Just like now, she had been frozen then too.
A laugh almost made its way out of her mouth. Around a year had passed and she still hadn’t changed.
The water around her grew restless. From the corner of her eye, she could see Triton swimming towards her with speed that would make Hermes jealous.
Triton-
The god that she knew hated her with every drop of ichor in his body, scared the merman away. He saved her.
He called her his sister.
Never in Percy’s life did she ever think he would willingly call her that.
When the merman hurried off, Triton followed, not bothering to give her another glance.
But still, a part of her was touched. He saved her.
Maybe they didn’t completely hate her.
Maybe her father was right. Maybe they just needed time.
It was as if a spell had been broken and Percy suddenly dropped to the ground. Sweat beaded on her forehead and her breathing was heavy and irregular. Black dots began to show up, getting bigger as her head spun faster.
Before her vision could fully darken, she heard someone calling her name. It was gentle and steady. The sound seemed to chase the darkness away.
“-ERCY. PERCY.”
It took all of her strength to look up. “It’s your coronation.”
Who was screaming her name? Why was everything so loud?
“You’re in the ocean.” The voice kept talking. “The war is over. We won. You survived. Deep breaths, Perce…that’s it…good girl…you’re gonna be okay. You’re gonna be safe.”
The more the voice talked, the more coherent Percy became. Soon enough, Percy could see the coral and fish again.
“There you are. Welcome back, Princess.” Hermes smiled at her as Apollo crouched in front of her, looking at her with worry. “Come on. Let’s get a change of scenery. Somewhere quieter maybe.”
Even though it was phrased like a question, Percy knew that it was an order in disguise.
She could feel eyes on her as she walked with the two gods. Their stares burned on her back like a mark. She tried to ignore them, keeping her eyes forward as she tried not to shiver when Hermes’s hand made its way down her lower back.
Right where her Acilles’ heel used to be.
The two gods led her back to her room, gesturing for her to sit on her bed.
It was only the three of them there.
No one talked for a bit. The two gods were looking at each other and Percy could tell they were having a silent conversation. She didn’t mind.
Her own mind drifted off elsewhere.
Unwillingly, fragments of the night before crept back into her mind. Apollo had been here last night.
She knew that.
She was the one that invited him over.
Did she really though?
Whatever happened last night, she couldn’t remember. No matter how hard she tried to remember, it felt like something was blocking her from gaining those memories back.
Thinking about it made her throat tight. She tilted her head up to look at him.
“Apollo,” she whispered, her voice sounded more vulnerable than she wanted it to. “Last night, when you visited me… we didn’t-“ her voice hitched, “we didn’t… nothing happened… between us, right?”
It was as if everything stopped. The fish stopped swimming and every noise dissipated from her mind.
She opened her mouth wanting to continue, but nothing came out. The words she wanted to ask were stuck in her throat like shards of glass. She couldn’t say it, but the silence was loud enough. The accusation was obvious enough too.
Beside him, Hermes stilled but Percy wasn’t paying attention. Her focus was entirely on the sun god.
Apollo’s head tilted, his golden hair catching the dim light. For a split second, there was nothing on his face but then it shifted so fast Percy was sure she imagined it.
His eyes met hers and oh.
He looked so hurt.
The guilt hit her before he even opened his mouth. His mouth parted slightly before he closed it, turning to Hermes as if trying to ask how do I fix this?
He turned his head back forward and crouched down on one knee so they were at eye level. His brows scrunched and his lips pressed tight and if Percy looked closely, she swore she could see his eyes watering.
She hated how it was her fault that he looked like that.
“Percy.” Apollo said, breaking through the silence like it was Backbiter. His voice was low and soft and she’s never heard him sound so shaken up. Not even when Artemis had been captured. ““I- I- No! Perce, I swear on my divinity, I would never force myself on you or- or-”
The necklace around her throat warmed and her shoulder loosened. “It’s okay,” she interrupted. Her cheeks warmed with embarrassment, and she wanted the conversation to end.
Hermes clasped onto Apollo’s shoulder in comfort. “Look, I know you’ve heard of the stories. They probably told them at camp. But I promise you, we are not the same gods that we used to be. We only want what’s best for you.”
“Guys,” she said, trying to get them to stop. The guilt she was feeling just kept rising and if they kept talking, it would overflow. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have- I don’t know why I even asked that. I’ve just felt so off since this morning and then I had to deal with the coronation and then the guy was too close and- and-”
Tears were flowing freely down her cheeks now. Her voice kept hitching and soon enough, her sobs filled the room.
The two gods were sitting beside her now. Apollo on her left and Hermes on her right.
“It’s okay, princess.” Apollo gently cupped her cheek, using a finger to wipe her tears. “I forgive you. You were overwhelmed and considering the earlier circumstances, I understand.”
Percy just nodded, unsure of what to say.
Apollo continued, “Last night was- it was a mistake. You forgot our plans and I pushed to stay. I shouldn’t have done that and I’m sorry.”
“No,” she muttered. “It was mine. I shouldn’t have forgotten and I shouldn’t have accused you like that. I’m really sorry. I trust both of you. I don’t know why I…”
Percy’s voice trailed off, her mouth unable to finish her sentence. The two gods understood though.
They always understood what she meant.
“It’s okay, I promise.” Apollo said with a soft look on his face. “We understand, I swear.”
“And don’t forget, princess.” Hermes added, “You’re wearing our symbols on your neck. We care for you and we only want what’s best for you.”
The two of them were looking at her so sincerely and deep down, she could sense that they weren’t lying. “Thank you,” she whispered. “I believe you. You guys are the only reason I’ve survived so long in Atlantis. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you guys.” She admitted.
The worst of her sobs had passed, but she still felt raw, like her skin had been stripped open. Every shaky breath rattled in her chest, and she didn’t know what to do. She had never been this open to anyone but Annabeth.
But Annabeth wasn’t here anymore. No one was.
It was only Percy and the gods now.
“I think that you’re stronger than you give yourself credit for.” Hermes said, “We’ve only won the last two wars because of you. You led us to victory, princess and because of that, we are forever in your debt.”
Apollo’s eyes surveyed her and it took everything in her not to flinch. “You carry so much weight on your shoulders.” He told her, “You don’t need to do that anymore. You said that you trust us so please, please let us help you. It isn’t healthy to carry this on your own, you need to lean on someone. So lean on us, Perce. Let us prove to you that we’re worthy of your trust.”
Percy swallowed hard. Their voices pressed into the cracks of her chest, soothing and steady, and for once she didn’t feel judged for faltering. She didn’t feel like she needed to put on a strong front.
Everyone she had known had only ever demanded things from her. Even Annabeth did at first. She demanded to be taken along for Percy’s quest. Everyone else demanded victories from her. For her to sacrifice herself if needed. For her strength.
For her loyalty.
But here they were, telling her that she had already done enough. That she didn’t have to carry it alone and that she deserved to rest.
Her throat burned, tears threatening again, but not from shame this time. From relief. It felt foreign, dangerous even, to let herself believe them.
But gods, she wanted to.
She needed to.
She leaned her head on Hermes’s shoulder and immediately she felt Apollo’s arm was around her waist. She stiffened at first before collapsing in their arms. Their touch melted away tension she hadn’t even realized she was holding. For the first time in what felt like forever, her body stopped bracing for impact.
Percy didn’t say anything.
Not yet.
But still, they stayed.
The silence between them was comfortable and Percy felt as if she could breathe freely.
Her coronation was still going on and it was only a matter of time before her father started looking for her. But right now… right now she could relax. Right now she could breathe. She could rest. She let her eyes slip shut, the warmth of their bodies anchoring her in a way that the ocean no longer could.
Percy was finally surrounded by gods that actually tolerated her. That actually liked her and wanted to be around her.
Gods that she could trust.
Gods that she could love.
Percy didn’t see the victorious smirks the gods threw each other the moment her head was turned. Nor did she realize how two of the symbols on her necklace glowed.
Percy just wanted to enjoy the feeling for as long as she could.
“Is there still no sign of her?”
Nico shook his head, “There’s nothing. It’s like she disappeared off the face of the earth.”
Thalia kicked a rock, frustration written all over her. “It’s been months, Nico. Where is she? We don’t know what happened on that quest. We don’t have answers. We don’t even know if she’s okay.”
“She’s still alive.” Nico said firmly. “I would’ve felt it if she was dead. Her and Leo were the only ones that survived.”
“We won’t rest ‘til we find her. She’s our cousin. Our family. I’ll talk to Lady Artemis and you should try talking to your father again. Maybe he’ll actually help this time.”
Nico frowned, eyeing the shadows around him with suspicion. “I don’t know, Thals. He’s being tight-lipped. There’s something going on but he won’t tell me what.”
Thalia looked up at the sky. “The gods said that Leo was in Ogygia but they didn’t speak a word about Percy. I’m worried. She needs a support system. She just lost everything.”
“I know,” He admitted, “Aunt Sally and Paul, they’re in Elysium. I was able to speak to them for a few minutes. She told me that her apartment was overrun with monsters. That the wards Poseidon set up didn’t hold them off.”
Thalia scrunched her eyebrows. “You think that’s connected?” She couldn’t help but ask.
“I- I don’t know.” He admitted, “But I know that something’s wrong. Everything feels off. We won but our heroes still haven’t arrived home. Over half of the camp believe that they’re all dead. But I know that she’s not. I would’ve felt it. We all would’ve felt it.”
Nico was right. Percy was Poseidon’s first mortal daughter. He was protective of her, borderline possessive even.
If somehow, for some reason, Nico’s powers weren’t accurate and Percy was actually dead then the seas would be in mourning.
The waves would rage and the sky would be crying. But instead, it’s the opposite. The weather’s been good- perfect even. The seas have been calm.
Something else was going on.
They just didn’t know what.
All they knew was that they needed to find their cousin.
Their sister.
They would search the entirety of Earth if they had to.
