All I could think of was the muffled cries of pain exiting my lips, my convulsing body that felt like it was on fire as Zeus’ master bolt was aimed at me as I collapsed.
It felt like an eternity before the God King finally stopped and shouted in a booming voice.

I just looked up at him with bleary eyes. Watching as he seemed to dissolve into the clouds like he was never even there in the first place. Watching as a glowing golden figure shot down from the sky like a shooting star.

After my first year, which nearly ended with me dying at Camp Half-Blood and Kronos turning his full attention on me, I started my second year knowing the story was already drifting away from the books I once read. My sudden involvement in Percy’s first quest had already caused ripples in the world. Like it or not, I couldn’t run from it anymore. Not when the Fates or whatever dragged me here clearly wanted me to be tangled in this story.
So yeah. Here I am, getting pulled back into something that’s only going to twist the plot further. Clarisse decided to name me as her quest partner to save the camp, and Percy wasn’t exactly thrilled when I agreed. Ares even threatened to kill me if she failed, and meanwhile Kronos and Luke are actively hunting me down.
And now? A new threat way above my paygrade has started showing up, directly targeting me. The worst part? They already know who I am, why I was reborn here, and what that stupid red-orange streak in my black hair really means. And one of them seriously needs to learn the definition of personal space.
I guess this is my fate now. Getting dragged into quests I was never supposed to interfere with in the first place.
