Chapter Text

“Hey Javi, have you met the new kid yet?” Amelia asked as she approached Javi at his locker.

“Uh, who?” He responded, giving Amelia a strange look.

“His name is Ollie. His mom got a job at the museum, which is why they moved to Pine Ridge. Apparently he’s travelled all around the world helping his mother with her expeditions.” She told him.

“So, what? Is there something I’m supposed to care about?” He said, unsure of why Amelia was telling him about this kid.

“Well, I thought we’d try to be friends with him.” She said, looking over to him across the hall.

“Why? Oh wait, let me guess. You think he’s cute, and you want someone to go with you so you don’t embarrass yourself?” He said, deadpanning towards Amelia.

“So, will you?” She asked.

“Fine, but only because I need more excuses to get out of the house.”

“Thanks! You’re the best!” She said, giving him a tight hug.

“No problem, but can you please let go of me?” Javi said, his voice a little strained.

Amelia let go and Javi got the last of his books. He closed his locker, and both of them proceeded to leave.

“Uhm, excuse me?” They heard an unfamiliar voice say. They both stopped and turned, and Amelia immediately recognized who it was.

“Oh. Hi Ollie!” Amelia said a little too excitedly. “What’s up?”

“Nothin’ much, I just need help finding my next class.” He said, looking down at his schedule. “Do you know where room 2-206 is?”

“No, what class is it?” Amelia asked. Javi didn’t know where it was either.

“Calculus II,” he said.

“Whoa. You must be super smart. Most kids don’t even take calculus, let alone calc. II,” She said.

“Uh, thanks. If you don’t mind, I’m going to head to the office to get directions.” He said, starting to leave.

“Wait!” Amelia called out, catching Ollie’s attention. “When you’re done, why don’t you join Javi and I for lunch?”

Ollie thought about it for a second. “Sure.”

“Okay, meet us outside by the main entrance.” Amelia said.

Ollie gave Amelia a nod, and continued his way to the office.

“Wow. You really like him, don’t you.” Javi said.

“Was it that obvious?” Amelia whined, covering her face with her hand.

“More obvious than you think. C’mon, we better get going.” He said, starting to walk off.

Chapter Text

He was taken out of his muse by a knock on the door.

“It’s Izzy,” she said through the door. “Can we talk, please?”

“No. Just leave me alone.” He said. He knew she wouldn’t, but he could at least try.

“C’mon Javi, you can’t lock yourself in your room for the rest of your life. You shouldn’t keep your feelings all bottled up like this, one day you’ll really hurt someone. You’re lucky Ollie only sustained bruises and a small cut.” She said, trying to keep her temper in check. As much as she loved her brother, he was a pain to reason with sometimes.

Javi thought about what Izzy said to him. She was right, he couldn’t run from his problems forever, and he saw what that was doing to the people he was close to; it hurt them as much as it hurt him. Reluctantly, he unlocked the door, only to throw himself back onto his bed. He heard Izzy open it and close it behind her.

“Talk to me Javi, what’s been going on with you?” She questioned, as she went to sit on the foot of his bed.

“You know I’m not good at that,” he countered. He was trying to avoid the question, and they both knew it.

“You know what I mean,” she said seriously.

It took a couple of minutes for Javi to try to find the words, but he finally confessed what’s been on his mind for the past day.

“I think, I uh—” he inhaled sharply. “I think I… I like someone?” He said.

“That’s why you’ve been like this, a girl?” She asked.

“Well… that’s the thing, actually. I uh… I— well, they aren’t who you think they are, it’s–“ Javi could feel his throat closing the more he rambled on. He stopped talking, trying to collect his thoughts and compose himself, he knew he had to suck it up and tell her.

“I think I like Ollie and I don’t know what to do.” he said all in the same breath. The eye contact between the two was no more, and Javi stared at his lap. There was a moment of silence between the two, Javi jumped to the worst-case scenario for Izzy’s reaction.

“I knew you would think I’m weird.” He said, and started to get up, only to be stopped by Izzy.

”Come here.” She said, and gave him a hug.

Chapter 3: [javi/ollie] deleted scene pt.2

Chapter Text

“Holy crap, are you okay?” Izzy asked, concerned for her brother. She rushed to his side.

“Yeah,” Javi let out weakly. “I’ll be okay.” He was clearly in pain, and continued lying on the floor.

“Here, I’ll help him up and get him bandaged,” Ollie said, as he approached Javi.

“No!” He yelled out, the slight jerk of his body causing him more pain. “I’m fine. Really.” He tried to convince them, but to no avail.

“That reaction says otherwise. What’s the problem between you two?” Izzy asked him. “You two became so close, what changed?”

Javi was in too much pain to think about “what changed,” all he knew was that he didn’t want to be near Ollie to spare his own sanity and his teammates. Izzy spoke again.

“Ollie is the only one who knows how to bandage wounds, let him help you.” She told him. He didn’t want to create more of a scene than there already was, so reluctantly, he complied.

Ollie approached him again, and was very careful in the way he picked Javi up. He made Javi sit up first, which wasn’t pleasant for him, then tucked his arm under Javi’s shoulder and wrapped it around his back. Then they both stood up, Izzy helping him on his other side. They took him to the back room where they kept the medical supplies, and placed him on the counter that was in there. Izzy left the two alone in there, hoping they’d resolve their conflict.

There was a lot of tension between the two. Javi was upset at Ollie, and Ollie was annoyed at Javi. he didn’t understand why Javi was upset with him, and why telling him would “change everything.” Everything is already different because they’re not communicating like they normally do. Ollie just wanted to take care of the wound and be done.

“Take your shirt off,” Ollie told him. Javi was hesitant, not wanting to make this more awkward than it needed to be.

“I can’t just hold it up?” He asked, hoping he wouldn’t fight him.

“Why does everything have to be a challenge with you lately?” The expression on his face showed he was clearly annoyed. Javi felt bad for inadvertently putting Ollie through all his crap, so he complied.

“Fine.” He took his shirt off and gave it to Ollie, who put it in a bin behind him.

“Thank you.” He said, relief washed over his face.

Ollie took out the first aid kit that was stored under the counter Javi was sitting on, and filled a cup with water in the sink next to him. He had to clean the wound first, so he dipped some paper towels into the water and started to wipe the blood off the cut skin.

“Shit!” Javi yelled, the water making his cut burn.

“Sorry.” Ollie told him. “I have to clean the wound, it will only take a couple more minutes.” He said, trying to calm him down.

“A couple minutes?” Javi asked, clearly still in discomfort.

“Yes Javi. I don’t know if you noticed, but your wound is pretty deep and leaking out a lot of blood.” Ollie said as he continued to wipe the excess blood. He continued to do it, until the flesh had no more blood. “Here, hold this wet cloth to the wound, it will prevent it from bleeding out more.” Javi complied, but was met with a stronger burning sensation.

“Holy shit! What the fuck!?” He yelled again. “How much longer?”

“I need to get the gauze and bandages, then I’ll wrap you up and be done.” He said, gathering the materials from the red and white box.

Ollie removed the wet cloth from the wound and used another paper towel to dry the moist patch of skin. He placed the gauze on the wound, and started to wrap the bandages around Javi’s waist. At first he put a lot of pressure on the wound, which made Javi curse more, but after the first wrap around, the pressure was much less intense. He wrapped three more times around to ensure it was secure, then gave Javi his shirt back. He was about to leave, but the door wouldn’t open.

“Huh?” He said as he turned the door handle. “Hey, how do you unlock the door?” He asked, looking back at Javi.

“No idea,” he responded, putting his t-shirt back on.

“Of course” Ollie mumbled under his breath. He wanted to be done today, he was done today. Javi was getting on his nerves, and made it clear he did something wrong. He just wanted to know what it was.

“So we’re stuck in here?” Javi asked him.

“Guess so. Go figure.” Ollie said, clearly annoyed and disappointed. He pressed himself up against the door, letting out a sigh. He slowly slid down until he was sitting on the floor. His bare skin did not slide easily on the metal door, and made a terrible squeaking noise all the way down, Javi was clearly bothered, indicated by the expression on his face.

He was still sitting on the counter, and now that they were locked in the room, had no plans of getting off it. Both of them sat there in silence for a while, avoiding eye contact with each other. Neither of them wanted to talk, but both had so many questions for one another.

“Why are you so mad at me?” Ollie asked, desperate for an answer.

"I can't tell you," Javi responded back.

"Why not?"

"Because you'll hate me!" He yelled.

Chapter 4: [tame & juuru] tametomo gets a tamagatchi

Notes:

this is technically done? but like...*shrug

Chapter Text

“Has anyone seen Tametomo?” Juuru asked everyone in the base.

“He said he was busy. Probably at his apartment playing video games.” Sena told him as she finished tying her shoelace. “What do you need him for?”

“Oh! I have a present to give him.” Juuru said, holding up a shiny gift bag.

“Ooh. What is it?” Sena asked, rushing over to the younger boy, curious about the present.

Juuru pushed aside the tissue paper that was in the bag, and pulled out a small egg-shaped keychain. “It’s a tamagotchi.” He said, showing Sena. “I saw it while I was walking home from school yesterday and thought Tametomo would like it, since he likes games and all.”

“That’s so sweet.” Sena said, smiling. “I can walk you to his place, it’s on the way to the field.”

“Okay,” Juuru said, packing up the small present again.

Sena went to get her bag, and then they left.

“Bye Sayo. Bye Shiguru.” Juuru said on his way out.

It didn’t take long for Sena and Jurru to arrive at Tametomo’s apartment, as his complex was fairly close to the Coconut Tower. Sena could tell Juuru was getting a bit nervous, and tried to ease his mind.

“Hey, Juuru.” She started, putting her hand on his shoulder to get his attention. “I’m sure he’ll love it.”

“Thanks Sena.”

“Well, I have to get to the track, but I wish you good luck!” She said, giving Juuru one last smile before walking away.

“Here goes nothing.” Juuru said to himself.

Tametomo was playing a new game, practicing for an upcoming competition with some of his teammates when he heard a knock at the door.

“I’ll be right there,” he yelled from across his apartment. “Hey guys, I have to go, someone’s here.” He said into his mic, before turning his game off. He grabbed a shirt, sprayed himself with some cologne, and made his way to the door.

“I don’t want what you’re sel—” he started, but cut himself off when he saw who it was. “Oh, hi Juuru.” He said awkwardly.

“Hi Tametomo,” he responded.

“Uh—” Tametomo started, still processing that Juuru was at his apartment. “Come in,” he told him.

“Thank you.” Juuru said, nodding his head.

Tametomo closed the door behind Juuru, then started talking. “Uhm, sorry about the mess, I don’t get visitors often. What brings you over here anyway?” He asked, as he cleared of his dining table.

“Well, I got you something,” Juuru said, making his way over to the older boy.

Tametomo wiped down the table before inviting Juuru to take a seat. “Oh, you really didn’t have to Juuru.” He said, putting the towel on the counter, then sitting down.

“Well, I wanted to, and I think you’ll really like it.” He said, putting the bag on the table between them. “Here!” he said as he slid the bag towards Tametomo.

Tametomo took the bag and gave it a strange look, before taking the tissue paper out of it. Once all the paper was out, he realized what Juuru had got him.

“A tamagotchi?”

“Yeah!”

Tametomo looked at it still in the bag, then took it out to look at it more closely. He smiled at it, then at Juuru.

“Thank you, Juuru” He said. I had one of these when I was young, one of the first games I had actually.”

Chapter 5: [javi/ollie] sweet like jasmine, at the same time bitter as day old coffee

Notes:

for some reason, all of my dino fury fics start off with them going to train lol. also, this is like the fourth javi/ollie fic i've "written"?

anyway, i found this, and honestly would finish it if i had time. maybe i will someday, but i have no intention anytime soon.

Chapter Text

The rangers were going to train, and as per usual, Amelia and Ollie had to have a debate the entire way there. Amelia was persistent in saying paranormal beings and occurrences were real, Ollie was persistent that they weren’t.

“For the last time Amelia, ghosts aren’t real,” Ollie said, annoyed. The rangers were walking to their equipment in the forest, and as per usual, Ollie and Amelia bickered and bantered the entire way there.

“Do you have any proof that they aren’t?” Amelia asked him, determined to prove him wrong.

“Do you have any proof that they are?” Ollie retaliated, not wanting to be proven wrong.

“I asked first,” she responded, wanting Ollie to admit he was wrong for once.

Javi watched as he walked behind them. He tried to pay attention to what they were saying, but his focus started to drift, and soon enough, he was just staring at their faces, more specifically Ollie’s face. He noticed the way he would bite his lip when he was deep in his thoughts, the way his brows would furrow when Amelia brought up something “ridiculous,” the smirk on his face when he thought he proved Amelia wrong. There were so many small things Javi picked up when he watched them banter, and he couldn’t help but admire them.

He wouldn’t lie, he had a crush on Ollie. He liked that Ollie was confident in himself, liked his vast knowledge of science, liked that he challenged him. He thought Ollie was really good-looking.

He was super jealous of Amelia because somehow, she and Ollie always found themselves around each other, whether it was training, in battle, even when they were just hanging around the base, they found something to talk about with each other. He wished Ollie would see him like that.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he bumped into someone.

“Hey, watch where your—” Ollie started in an aggravated tone, but stopped when he saw who it was. “Oh.” He started to blush. “Hey Javi. How are you?” He asked, his tone immediately softening.

It took a second for Javi to process everything. “Oh… um, I’m fine, thanks for asking. How are you today?” He asked, not sure what else to say.

“I’m okay. Uhm… would you like to train together today?” He asked, giving him a shy smile.

“You don’t want to train with Amelia today?”

He turned to look at her standing with Izzy. “Well, I think she wants to train with someone else today, and if I’m going to be honest, I think we could use a small break from each other.” He said, turning back to face Javi. “We can only argue for so long, right?” He joked, letting out a small chuckle.

“I guess?” He said, giving Ollie a shrug. “Um, well then, I’ll train with you today.” He said, slightly hesitant.

“Do you not want to? I could go ask—”

“No!” Javi cut him off. “I’d love to.” He spit out, and immediately cringed at his comment. I’d love to? Was he that desperate?

“Okay. Uh, I think the others already started,” he said, looking over at the others who were engaged in a three way sword battle. “I guess we should start to.”

“Yeah, sounds good.” Javi responded, his voice quieter than before.

Chapter 6: [javi] projection hours (pt.2)

Notes:

basically me writing feelings, but w/ fictional characters so they don't feel real.

part of my deleted fic from chaps. 2 & 3 |this was a continuation of the last chapter of this book (edit, i didn't upload that chapter b/c its kinda bad? maybe tomorrow?)

Chapter Text

Two months have passed since Izzy came out to Javi, and while nothing has changed between him and her, Javi started to question his own sexuality more. Following Izzy telling him she liked girls, he came to the realization that he wasn’t confined to liking what his parents or society wanted him to like. He could like boys, he could like girls, and anything in between. After a lot of thinking and research, and BuzzBlast quizzes, Javi thought the bisexual label suited him best. He liked girls, he liked boys, but in the end, he just liked who he liked.

He was finally able to explain the confusing feelings he had throughout high school. He liked a couple girls at this school, and had a huge crush on one girl in particular who was in his music class. For the longest time Izzy was convinced he’d never get over her. But he also realized that he stared at some of the boys in his classes because he was attracted to them, not jealous of them as he’d previously thought.

He didn’t want to say anything about this revelation just yet, in case anything changed, but Javi was content with his choice.

Until he started to question everything again.

For the past couple weeks, Javi’s feelings of attraction have been a rollercoaster. One day he really likes girls and is convinced he’s straight, the next day he wakes up thinking about boys and is convinced he’s gay. Everyday is a contradiction to the last, and sometimes these feelings would happen for days on end, and Javi think’s it’s all figured out, but then something else will hit him and he’s back at square one. He started to feel like he was faking his attraction to boys, that it was just for attention. All of these thoughts made it increasingly harder for him to interact with his fellow rangers and friends because he was so fixated on his label.

On top of that, Izzy finally came out to their parents and the rangers and they were all so supportive of her, but Javi felt like if his parents found out he wasn’t entirely straight, they would be disappointed more than they already were with him. He wasn’t the perfect child they wanted him to be, and his parents were already busy with other things, he didn’t want to stress them out further.

More weeks went by, the confusion started becoming more overwhelming and ingrained in his brain, Javi started to keep to himself way more than usual, and his mind was an endless spiral of thoughts and feelings, trying to convince himself that he wasn’t different. That it was all in his head trying to get attention. That there was no way he could ever love anyone other than girls and that he was faking it the whole time. That the only reason he vied for male attention was because of his dad never being supportive of him or his dreams.

Javi kept all of this to himself, on top having a team of four other rangers counting on him to be in his best shape, physically and mentally. He had to train a lot, as did the rest of them, but out of the core five, he considered himself the weakest. The pressure that was filling his head really affected his practice and interaction with the others. None of them had really picked up on it, except for Izzy. She tried to talk to him about what was going on, but he was kind of brash with her and tried to avoid her questions. He didn’t want to say anything about these feelings because he didn’t even know what they were anymore. He never kept secrets from Izzy, they always shared their feeling with each other, but he’s fallen so far deep into denial that he can’t even say the word bisexual anymore, and denies he could even label himself as such.

Chapter 7: [javi/ollie] the strange treasure chest : dino fury edition

Notes:

this was my first attempt at trying to write a dino fury fic around ryusoulger episode 9. i didn't like where it was going, so i ended up rewriting it.

Chapter Text

“C’mon guys, we need to find a way out of here,” Ollie said frustrated as the rest of his team was distracted by the strange world they were in.

The rangers, sans Javi, had been fighting a monster when suddenly a strong fog surrounded them. They were teleported to an alternate dimension, fueled by their desires. Around them were various treasure chests, and opening one would grant any wish they wanted.

“Oh Ollie, always so serious and ‘logical’” Amelia complained. “We’ll never know where we are if we don’t try and look for clues.” She said, walking over to one of the chests.

“Well we can’t just touch things without a plan. We have no idea what this world holds. Did you forget we were transported here by a sporix beast? What if they try to kill us?” He said, still giving her an annoyed look.

“You worry too much. If the monster wanted to kill us, he would’ve done it while we were unconscious, not transport us to another dimension.” She returned, getting closer to opening the chest.

“Fine, open the chest, but if something tries to kill you, don’t come to me for help.” Ollie said, walking away from Amelia.

Amelia opened the chest, a bright, flashing light coming out of it. She shielded her eyes from it, then uncovered them to find a ghost in front of her.

“Oh my— is that what I think it is!?” She screamed, grabbing everyone’s attention. “It’s a ghost! You guys see it right? Holy crap they’re real! See Ollie, ghosts exist.”

“You realize we’re in an alternate dimension, right? Nothing here has any ground in the real world.” He retorted.

“Wait guys.” Zayto said. “Amelia is always going on about how she wants to prove ghosts are real, and now she found one. Don’t you think that’s a little odd?” He asked.

“No, I mean just like Ollie said, we’re in an alternate dimension, so it’s probably an illusion from the monster.” Izzy answered. “Why don’t we open another one to see what happens?” She suggested.

“Okay.” Zayto said.

Then a second later Ollie said “No.”

“Why not Ollie, the chests don’t seem to be causing any harm.” Zayto said, walking over to another one with Izzy.

“We don’t know what that thing will do. What if it goes crazy? Then what?” He rationalized, following them.

“We’ll never know unless we try.” Izzy said, as she opened the chest.

Another bright light hit them, and after it subsided, nothing had come out.
“Huh? That’s strange, nothing happened.” Izzy observed, looking around to see if anything had changed.

“Maybe only certain chests have something in them,” Zayto said, and started to walk towards another chest.

Suddenly, Izzy sprinted right past him to the chest.

“Whoa!” She said surprised. “Did you guys see how fast I was? That was awesome!”

Chapter 8: [tame & juuru] package

Notes:

I wanted to write a story where Tametomo makes the lights of his keyboard the colors of the bi flag, and I started but then didn't like it, so yeah, this is all I wrote.

Chapter Text

“Tametomo, a package came for you!” Juuru said holding a box as he entered CARAT.

“Huh, I wasn’t expecting anything today.” Tametomo took the package from the younger boy and looked at the return address. “Oh!” He exclaimed.

“What is it?” Juuru asked.

“It’s a new keyboard.” He said, opening the box. “It wasn’t supposed to come for another week, but the company must have sent it here instead of my apartment.”

“The company?” Jurru questioned.

“Yeah, this keyboard company reached out to me a couple weeks ago and asked if I would test out their newest model keyboard.” He explained. “It’s supposed to be super fast and comfortable to use for a long time, and it has custom light configurations.” He said as he took the final layer of packaging off.

“Wow!”

Chapter 9: [javi/ollie] the strange treasure chest : dino fury edition ver. 2

Notes:

my second attempt at writing ryusoulger episode 9 for dino fury. i promise the actual version is coming

Chapter Text

Ollie didn’t know how he had gotten here, all he did know was that he had to get out.

He started looking for clues, the most obvious being the various treasure chests scattered around the plaza he was at. He walked over to one and crouched down by it, analyzing it to see if there was anything suspicious. To his surprise the chest seemed pretty normal, so he opened it, hoping there would be something to help him get out.

A blast of energy came from the chest as well as a bright light, both of which knocked Ollie away from the chest. When everything settled, Ollie thought everything had gone back to normal, until he heard something familiar.

Leaning against a tree about three yards away, Javi was playing his harmonica. He had a melancholy look on his face, until he noticed Ollie was watching him.

“Oh Ollie, you’re here too!” His demeanor immediately changed and he ran over to the other.

“Uh… yeah. How’d you get here? Maybe it can help us find a way out.” He asked.

Javi moved closer to Ollie, whispering into his ear. “Why would I want to leave? You’re here.”

Ollie pushed him away. “We need to get back to the others,” he started, angrily. If all you want to do is fuck around, be my guest, I’m going to find a way out.” He started to storm off, but Javi grabbed his wrist.

“Wait, don’t go. I know what you really want.” He pleaded.

“Oh yeah, what? What could I possibly want more than to get out of here?” He asked, aggravated at the others' calm nature.

“This.” Was the last thing Javi said before placing a soft kiss upon Ollie’s lips.

Once Javi stepped back, Ollie stood frozen in shock.

“That was your wish… wasn’t it?” Javi asked, his head tilting in curiosity.

“Wha— what do you mean ‘my wish’?” He asked back, scrunching his face.

“I’m here because you wished for me to be here, more specifically, you wished that I would reciprocate your feelings for me.” He explained.

“I— I never wished for that.” He said, backing away from the other, getting more nervous.

“But, you did. I wouldn’t be here otherwise.”

“No, this can’t be, I-I-” Ollie was interrupted by a loud sound in the sky. A portal opened up and Javi fell out of it.

“Javi?” Ollie thought as he rushed over to the other.

“Ollie! Good thing you’re okay. I was really worried about you.” Javi exclaimed, hugging him.

Ollie quickly separated himself from the other and frantically asked Javi how he was able to find him and how they were going to escape. Javi explained that Ollie was the only one caught in the direct blast of the sporix beast’s blast and therefore was transported to the alternate dimension. He reassured the others we’re fine and informed Ollie of their escape plan.

“To get out of here, we have to wait until the sporix beast comes back, and right as the team strikes it from the outside, we have to strike at the same place from the inside. If we miss, we’ll be killed with the sporix.”

“How will we know where they strike?” Ollie asked, worried that he might die.

“The sporix has a weak spot that connects the two dimensions. It’s controlled by his left hand on the outside, we need to find where it is here.”

Chapter 10: [canalo/koh] forbidden romance

Notes:

For awhile now I've had this idea of a Canalo/Koh forbidden romance type story. But I just can't find the time or motivation to really write a good in-depth story, so.. this is all I wrote about it.

Chapter Text

When it came to finding a partner, the people of the land Ryusoulger tribe were never concerned with labels, choosing their partners based on whoever they had a strong bond with. The same couldn’t be said for the sea Ryusoulger tribe, as they were expected to become partners based on the need to have children due to their dwindling population.

The population of the tribe was already declining when Canalo was young, so once he was of age, he was immediately sent out to find a bride, or more accurately, a partner to have children with. Coming to the surface, Canalo was shocked to find out how relaxed the land Ryusoulgers were when it came to partnering as he had lived over 200 years believing that partners must be together for the sole purpose of reproduction.

As his time on the surface prolonged, he started to wish that he had freedom to choose his partner. Although he wasn’t disinterested in a partner that could have his children, he wanted to explore his other options. More specifically, he found himself falling for Koh.

Chapter 11: [ikki/touma kamiyama] penpals

Summary:

Touma and Ikki are penpals, one day Touma stops answering

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Touma didn’t get out often. Between writing his novel and running his bookstore, getting out in the world to meet people was the last thing on his mind. One day Mei suggested to him that he should get a penpal.

“C’mon Touma, you need to talk to people who aren’t me.” She said, following him to his messy desk.

“Mei, I already have a lot on my plate, I don’t have time to write letters to strangers.” He asserted, sitting down to work on his manuscript.

“Please Touma, one letter. You need to write something other than your novel. You don’t want to get burned out do you?” Mei begged.

“Mei I—”

“I’ll talk to my boss and get you an extension for your next deadline!”

“Fine, but only one letter.” Touma said, slightly displeased.

“Yay! Trust me Touma, you’ll be writing more than a single letter.” Mei said, running out of the bookstore.

Touma let out a small chuckle before continuing with his manuscript.

Ikki loved working at his family's bathhouse. He was always the first one in, and last one out. Making his family happy was his number one priority, and he knew they all appreciated his hard work and dedication to their business.

“Ikki, why don’t you take the day off tomorrow? You’ve been working very hard lately.” His dad told him.

“No thanks, I like working!” He responded, setting up the table for their dinner.

“Ikki…” His father started. “You need to get out, talk with people your own age.”

“But dad I hav—”

“And I don’t mean your siblings.”

“I know! I have friends outside the family!” He exclaimed.

Ikki’s father let out a sigh, followed by some silence. “Hmm…” Ikki could tell he was thinking of something. “Why don’t you write letters to someone, that’s what we did back in the old days. Like penpals!” He suggested.

“Does anyone even write letters to anyone anymore?” Ikki questioned, not liking the idea of talking to some stranger.

“I’m sure there’s a website for it.” His father said. “If you don’t want to leave work, this would be a good way to talk to some people. You can read and write all the letters in the office if you’d like.”

Notes:

this was an idea i had all the way back when revice started (and i watched it).

basically, touma and ikki become friends through penpaling before the events of saber, but once touma becomes a kamen rider, he stops answering, essentially ghosting ikki. they meet each other in person in the last episode of saber (canon) and touma recognizes the pattern on ikki's shirt as the stamp ikki signed his letters with. they finally know who each other are, bond over being kamen riders or something and just become good friends in general.

i would like to come back to this idea one day, so maybe you'll see this again :)

Chapter 12: [hyde & alata] the goseigers watch dekaranger

Summary:

Someone in Dekaranger looks oddly familiar...

Notes:

I think I had posted this in a now deleted one-shot book, but I can't remember, regardless, enjoy!

Chapter Text

“Hey guys, I got something from the library!” Nozumu said excitedly, holding up a DVD case as he entered the house.

The goseigers all hurried around him, curious to see what he had brought. “Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger?” they all questioned at the same time.

“Yeah! They’re a sentai just like you, but in this series they’re a police force fighting space criminals.” Nozumu explained.

“Interesting! Let’s watch it.” Alata said. Everyone nodded in agreement.

All of them went over to the den, everyone getting comfortable on the couches, while Hyde pulled over a chair from the dining table. Nozumu put the DVD inside the player, then went to sit next to Alata. After a couple of popups and promotions, episode one began to play.

About ten minutes into the episode there was a shot of the entire team together, and it was the first time the blue, green, and pink rangers were demorphed. Immediately after it panned to a shot of dekagreen, Hyde’s eyes went wide.

“Magis.” He thought to himself, and suddenly, memories of his former partner filled his head. Feelings of loss and grief rushed over him, and he couldn’t focus on the show any longer. He quietly got out of his seat, and left the house.

He ended up at the beach he and Magis fought their last battle at, and stood at the place he had passed in his arms. A vision of that moment appeared in front of him, of him crying out Magis’ name one last time. He started choking up, tears forming in the corner of his eyes. He still couldn’t believe Magis was gone.

Hyde layed on the beach for a while, letting the sounds of the crashing waves sooth his mind. The seaick pair would always go to the beach together or apart if they were angry, upset, sad. It was a place of tranquility for them, a place they could feel comfortable, safe. Once in a while Hyde’s mind would drift back to Magis, and the endless memories they shared together, in gosei world and on earth training to be gosei angels. Those memories were all he had left of him, and he wouldn’t take a single one for granted.

Chapter 13: [sento & junchiro] the story of sento’s clock

Summary:

while getting his watch fixed, sento sees a cool clock.

Notes:

i mean, i could’ve finished this, but i feel like i couldn’t write sento right.

Chapter Text

Sento walked in to 9 to 5.

There wasn’t much to the place besides clocks on the wall and the glass display cases filled with watches. There was a man behind one of the display cases, who turned around when Sento entered.

“Oh! Welcome to 9 to 5. We’re a clock repair shop!” The man said.

“Would you be able to fix my watch? It’s a favorite piece of mine.” Sento asked.

Junchirou took the watch from Sento to examine it. “You can take a seat over there if you’d like.” He said, motioning towards the dining table near the entrance.

Sento made his way to the table, looking at the variety of clocks and watches displayed around the store. As he went to take a seat at the table, one clock on the wall caught his eye.

Unlike most of the clocks in the store which were more classic clocks—black and white circular analog clocks, wooden, boxy clocks—there was one hanging on the wall in front of the table that was a simple green square. Taking a closer look, he saw the units of the clock matched the ones that were on his watch.

“Um.. Excuse me?” Sento said a bit hesitantly, looking back at Junchirou.

“Did you want some water?” He asked, stopping his work to look towards Sento.

“Are these clocks for sale?”

Chapter 14: [hiiro/taiga] a thing, a sick fic even

Notes:

i literally don’t want to look at this anymore, i started this in may and like.. have been stuck since

Chapter Text

Hiiro despised the cold weather that came with the winter season, mostly because, without fail, it caused him to get a cold.

Not only was having a cold generally unpleasant— runny nose, itchy throat, and simply feeling like crap for what feels like an eternity— whenever the inevitable time of the season came around, he would have to stop working for at least a week if not more.

He would usually be fine with staying at home for sometime because Taiga was with him, and they would do something together, or at the very least, he'd have paperwork to catch up on, but he didn’t have either at the moment.

It had been a week since Hiiro had caught the cold, and it wasn’t letting up. No matter what he tried, his cold would not get better; sometimes he felt like it was getting worse. On this particular day, Hiiro felt worse than any other day so far, and wanted nothing more than to have Taiga hold him. Unfortunately, he was at work, and wouldn’t be home until late.

Hiiro settled for the next best thing he could think of. He went over to Taiga’s dresser and dug through it to find his most worn piece of clothing, a black, long sleeve shirt. Even though it had been washed more times than Hiiro could remember, it still carried a strong scent of the older man. He put on the shirt, taking in the nice aroma. Though the shirt was decently fitted on Taiga, it was a bit baggier on Hiiro, but he found it comfortable nonetheless.

He slipped back under the covers of their shared bed, laying there, thoughts drifting to different things, until he eventually fell asleep.

When Taiga returned home, he found Hiiro right where he had left him, in bed. He couldn’t blame him for just sleeping all day. Taiga thought Hiiro needed the break. For the first time since he met the surgeon, he wasn’t staying up late into the morning doing paperwork.

“Hiiro..” Taiga said softly, shaking the other's shoulder.

Hiiro stirred in his sleep, shooting his head up when he became aware of who was with him.

He sat up, the covers falling off his body, so he was more level with Taiga. “How was your day?” He asked.

Instead of answering the question, Taiga pulled at the shirt Hiiro was wearing. “Did my little prince miss me that much?”

Hiiro looked down, realized he was still in Taiga’s shirt from earlier. “I… m-maybe.”

Taiga let out a hum. “It looks cute on you.” He commented, pulling Hiiro closer to his chest. He started running his fingers through the others' hair; Hiiro found the motions soothing. They stayed like that for a while in silence, until Taiga spoke.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t stay with you today.”

Hiiro made an incoherent sound. “It’s.. okay. I slept all day anyways. I’m glad you’re home now.” He paused for a moment before asking Taiga “Can you come here?” patting the side of the bed that was empty.

[...]

Taiga wrapped his arms around Hiiro, his chest flush with Hiiro’s back, the warmth of his body enveloping the smaller man.

Chapter 15: [javi/ollie] you were in my heart, you were in my head

Summary:

Javi writes a song about a certain someone...

Notes:

i have no idea why i wrote this, i have no recollection of writing this (though it had to have been at least 1 year ago).

Chapter Text

“What’re you writing?” Zayto asked, looking over Javi’s shoulder.

“Uh— nothing,” Javi responded nervously. He immediately closed his notebook and turned to face Zayto.

“Oh, it’s a secret. Well, have fun writing,” he said, walking off to go talk to Ollie.

Javi watched as Zayto approached him. Nobody on the team knew, but he had a crush on Ollie. There were so many things he admired about him from his confidence, his vast knowledge of history and science, his soft hair he wanted to run his fingers through, the list went on forever.

He turned back to his notebook, and continued writing his song. It was so important to him, he had to make it perfect. He kept looking between Zayto and Ollie, and his notebook to make sure he had everything right.

— A few weeks later —

“Hey guys, I have something I would like to share,” Javi said. Everyone in the base dropped what they were doing, and headed over to where Javi was sitting.

“What’s the special occasion?” Izzy quipped. “You never willingly share stuff with us, so what’s up?”

“Um, I wrote a song for someone I really like, and I uh, thought I’d play it for you guys,” he said, getting a little more nervous.

“Aww, Javi has a crush on someone,” Amelia said. “Well, let’s hear it.”

Javi took his guitar out of the case, and started playing the song he wrote. He was shaky at first, but soon relaxed and started to sing with a lot of passion. The others were very interested in who the song was about, they’ve never seen Javi so emotional or expressive before.

The song ended, and all the rangers were left in shock.

“Wow,” was all Amelia said.

Chapter 16: [hyde & magis\sen] sen is magis, magis is sen

Summary:

what if sen was magis all along and when he came back in kyuuranger it was just a cover up by the other dekarangers cause they didn't want anyone to know someone died on the job...

my twitter

Notes:

this is bad and i don't know how to write death scenes. also, i wrote this at a time where i still didn't finish dekaranger or kyuranger, so there might be some inaccuracies...

Chapter Text

“Sen-chan has been out a lot lately, I hope he’s okay.” Umeko expressed worriedly as she sat down with the rest of the team.

“I’m sure he’s alright, probably got caught up in helping someone. You know he wouldn’t be out if it wasn’t for something important. I’m sure he’ll be back soon.” Jasmine said, trying to calm Umeko’s concerns.

“You’re right.” She said, and the rest of them started to discuss their task at hand.

“When do you think we’ll get to go back to Gosei World?” Magis asked Hyde.

“After we finish our training.” Hyde replied.

“But we’ve been here for almost 6 years. How much longer until our training is done?” He said, a hint of sadness in his voice.

“When Master Head tells us it’s over. We all went into this knowing that we could be on the Earth for a while. Is there something wrong Magis?” Hyde asked, worried for his comrade.

“Just a little homesickness, that’s all.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah, I just miss my family a lot. Don’t you?”

“Of course I do, but I’m not alone here, I have you.”

A couple days later

“Sen-chan, you’re back!” Umeko almost screamed, as she saw the other walk into the main room.

“Welcome back Senichi,” Doggie said.

The rest acknowledged their team member, and Doggie started to explain the case they would investigate for the next couple of days.

Abrella has been spotted at the coast multiple times within the past two weeks. We all know he isn’t one to expose his identity this easily, I fear this might be a set up for a larger plan.

“Sen, Jasmine, I want you guys to go to the coast, try and interview frequent visitors, and anyone who might’ve seen what Abrealla might’ve been up to.”

“Ban, Tetsu, I want you guys out patrolling the city. Hoji, Umeko, you guys stay here to review the footage we have.”

“Yes Boss.” They all said, and were dismissed to go to their jobs.

“Sen-chan, is everything alright?” Jasmine asked on their way to the beach.

“Yes, why do you ask?” He said, trying not to sound rude.

“You’ve been out a lot recently, everyone’s worried about you, especially Umeko.”

“Oh.” He said, not realizing how much time he had actually taken off from work. There was a long pause before he said anything else.

“I’ve been missing home a lot lately, it’s got me really down.” He confessed.

“Sen-chan, you could’ve told us. I’m sure Boss would give you some extended time off to go visit.” Jasmine said, putting a hand on his shoulder in an effort to comfort him.

“Even if I did get time off I wouldn’t be able to go,” He mumbled under his breath.

“What did you say?” She asked.

Sen cleared his throat. “Oh! Nothing. I’ll talk to Boss about making some arrangements.”

They arrived at the beach, Jasmine started to interview the residents who lived a bit up from the coast, while Sen went to interview people closer to the water and scope out the scene further.

By sunset, the Dekarangers all gathered together to discuss their findings. Ban and Tetsu didn’t see Abrella at all while patrolling, nor did anyone they talked to. Umeko and Hoji didn’t have much luck finding anything new with the footage they reviewed.

Sen and Jasmine had the most luck with gathering new information, but it wasn’t much. Many people said they had seen Abrella on the coast multiple times between the past two weeks, but didn’t think much of it. Some said it looked like he was talking to something in the water.

“Thank you all for your hard work today, you are dismissed.” Doggie told them, and they all went their separate ways.

“How was work today Magis?” Hyde asked. The two of them were sitting on the beach Magis had been at before, now without any people besides them.

“It was good. I think I really needed it.”

Hyde nodded his head. “What was the case about?”

“Hmm. Abrella has been seen here more than usual, we suspect he had something planned.”

Hyde nodded his head again. “How come we haven’t seen him around? We basically live on this beach.”

“He’s been coming here at times we’re generally not here, whether it’s because I’m working, or you’re taking hours to pick out a single chicken.” Magis chuckled at his last remark.

“We have to eat what’s best for us if you want training to be over faster.” Hyde said, fairly unaffected by Magis’ tease.

The two of them continued laying on the sand, until Magis started hearing someone’s voice.

“....Yes...Good…”

It was hard for him to hear them, so he got up to investigate further, leaving Hyde to rest.

As he got closer, he realized that it was Abrella. He considered calling someone, but couldn’t risk being caught.

It was hard to see in the dark, however, there was just enough moonlight to make out a figure’s head just above the water. Abrella was talking with it, just as some witnesses said.

“You’re sure you can eliminate the Dekarangers?” Abrella asked the figure.

“Of course, with your enhancements, I’m stronger than any Alienizer out there.” It responded.

“Good. Do not let those new abilities I gave you go to waste.” Abrella said, and flew away. The other figure sunk back into the water.

The Next Day

It was early in the morning. Magis didn’t have to be at work until 10, so he and Hyde decided to take a walk along the water.

They usually talk about Magis’ work, or whatever new thing Hyde is researching. It’s a nice time for them to catch up with each other after a busy week.

Along their path, they saw a spot where the water was bubbling. Both of them went to check it out.

“Hmm.. that’s odd.” Magis thought out loud. “What do you think it could be?” He asked.

“Not sure, I haven’t read about anything like this.” Hyde responded.

As they continued to stand there thinking about what it could be, the bubbling got more intense. Some of the water started to splash on them, and it was really hot, more so than it was usually in the summer.

Not too long after, there was an explosion in the section of the ocean. They were caught in the blast, flying across the beach.

“Ahh. Good to be back.” They heard from behind them.

Hyde and Magis turned to find a Warstar behind them.

“Warstar!?” They shouted in unison.

“So you two are those Dekarangers Abrella was telling me about.” The Warstar exclaimed.

“Not quite,” Magis said, and he and Hyde morphed.

“Well whoever you two are, I’m going to take you down.”

The Warstar started their attack on the two Seaicks. Even though they had the numbers advantage, the two still struggled to get any advantage over the Warstar. Soon, they found themselves fighting atop the cliff nearby.

A strong blast was thrown, causing both of them to demorph, Hyde fell hard, struggling to get up, however, Magis was able to muster the strength to prevent the Warstar from shooting a final strike.

Unfortunately, Magis wasn’t able to hold off the Warstar much longer, and did the only thing he thought would end this Warstar for good.

“MAGIS, DON’T!” Hyde shouted at the top of his lungs.

But it was too late, both Magis and the Warstar fell over the cliff, an explosion forming on impact.

Hyde rushed down as fast as he could to find Magis., but it was too late.

Chapter 17: [keiwa & michinaga] build new world: buffa!

Summary:

Michinaga runs into a familiar face.

Notes:

it's hard writing while a show is airing, but also easier at the same time. i like this concept, but trying to write this as the show airs keeps tripping me up.

Chapter Text

Michinaga looked at the raise buckle he had received this round. " Build Driver.. huh? "

Though it was probably stronger than the Propeller Raise Buckle Neon got, it definitely wasn't as powerful as the Monster Raise Buckle he had received. Nonetheless, Michinaga was determined to be the one to defeat the Jamato and fulfill his wish.

After Tsumuri was finished explaining the abilities of each of their new power items, they were released back into the game area, and their mission officially started. They were all positioned at opposite ends of the Jamar area, Michinaga being furthest from the entrance of the amusement park the Jamato were at.

As Michinaga ran towards the entrance, he collided with someone. Both of them went down fast, but fortunately he was able to catch himself on the palms of his hands before their faces crashed together. Once he processed what just happened, he realized who was under him.

"Keiwa?" He shouted surprised, promptly getting back on his feet.

The college student took a bit more time to regain his composure. "Um.. Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked, sitting up.

Michinaga cursed at himself, of course he wouldn't remember who he was. "Uh.. it's just—"

"Oh! Were you at the job recruitment too? That interviewer was tough wasn't he?" He cut the other off. He stood up so that he was eye level with Michinaga.

"No, I wasn't there. Just forget about it." He said, pushing the other aside to continue towards the amusement park.

"How do you know my name then?" Keiwa asked.

Michinaga stopped. Even if it wasn't against the rules of this wretched game he was stuck in, he wouldn't know what to tell him. How could he make such a careless mistake?

He pivoted his head towards Keiwa. "I can't tell you, just forget that we ever met. You should get somewhere safe, this area's about to become a battlefield." He said, getting out his newly awarded Raise Buckle.

He inserted it into the right side of his driver and transformed. As Tsumuri said earlier, he received red and blue armor around his legs, which enhanced his power and agility; and received a weapon resembling a drill. What Tsumuri didn't mention was the excess energy that radiated out of his suit once the transformation was complete. The Jamar area lit up with a yellow glow; and suddenly Keiwa collapsed to the ground, yelling out in agony.

Michinaga rushed to his side, asking if he was alright.

When the energy came into contact with Keiwa, a slew of memories overwhelmed him. The experience was almost as if he was watching something on TV. A majority of what he saw was hazy; black and white blurs covered up the people present in what he was seeing. Only one person was clear to him.

At this point, Michinaga was no longer transformed and was intermittently shaking the other in an attempt to take him out of his trance.

“Come on Keiwa!” He said through gritted teeth. He knew how much Keiwa had been through in the short time he was a participant in the game, he didn’t want to see him suffering any more.

Keiwa inhaled sharply, which caught Michinaga off guard, causing him to release his grip off the others shoulders. Michinaga watched as Keiwa observed his surroundings, his eyes eventually falling to him.

”M-Michinaga?” Keiwa asked hesitantly.

Michinaga didn't answer, doubting Keiwa actually said his name.

Keiwa inched closer. "Michinaga? It's me, Keiwa." He said pointing at himself, a smile creeping on his face.

"No!" He screamed, backing away from Keiwa. " This can't be happening. " He thought to himself. There was a scared expression on his face, and for the first time since he met Keiwa, his tough exterior was starting to break.

“I-Is there something wrong? Did I.. do something wrong?” Keiwa asked.

“H-How” was all Michinaga could squeak out.

“I don’t really know..” He paused to reign in his thoughts. It happened so fast, but at the same time, it felt like forever. “After you put that thing in your belt,” pointing to the raise buckle, “I had an.. out of body experience. I saw you, we were doing something together. There might have been other people there, but they weren't clear.”

So he still doesn’t remember the Desire Grand Prix. Good. ” Michinaga thought. It was for the better.

He looked down at the buckle in his hand. “Just what did you do?” He mumbled under his breath. As far as he knew, only the ID Cores restored people’s memory of the Grand Prix.

"What is that thing anyways?" Keiwa asked.

"Nothing, you have to go. You have to go and forget about what you saw, forget our meeting, forget about me.” Michinaga said frantically, physically trying to push Keiwa away. “You’ll only be hurt if you try to remember. I won’t let you end up like that again.”

~

Was Michinaga doing this to protect Keiwa, or protect himself?

Chapter 18: [taiga & noël] a/n: why did i write this?

Summary:

“I fell in love with someone who’s in love with someone else,” wasn’t a phrase Taiga was expecting to hear from the mysterious man that landed on the roof of his hospital, but one he could relate to all too well.

Notes:

at the time, i liked touma and noël and hiiro and taiga as pairing and i realized both touma and hiiro had girlfriends they were trying to get back more or less, so i thought writing some kind of one-sided pining would be cool, but i suck at writing. so this is messy and i ultimately didn't write much for it.

Chapter Text

Taiga sat on the edge of the roof of his hospital, a place he often found himself when his thoughts drifted to things he was trying to avoid.

Between Nico leaving to go to America, and the general quietness of his hospital, Taiga’s thoughts were drifting to the problems he didn’t want to deal with more often.

The sound of metal clanking behind him disturbed his train of thought. “ Oh la la ,” He heard a voice say. Taiga turned around and was met with a man wearing a glittery, silver suit and matching top-hat. “Didn’t expect anyone else to be up here this late,”  the mysterious man said, walking closer to the former doctor.

“And you are?” He asked, annoyed.

[...]

Noël sighed. “You know what sucks?” He paused, letting out another sigh before continuing. “Falling in love with someone who’s in love with someone else.”

Suddenly Taiga was intrigued.

“For a while now I haven’t been in any long-term relationship. [I never felt the urge to stay with someone more than a couple of nights] But Touma was different." He paused.

“Sorry for bothering you. I can’t exactly talk about this to just anyone.”

Chapter 19: [the end] idea's that never came to be
