Chapter Text

The stage is empty except for a man dressed as an usher stands there, his eyes are closed. A single light shines down on him.

Suddenly, three dark cloaked figures appear in the darkness behind him.

”It is time” says one, “the latest batch of bard students must face the right of passage.”

”Indeed” says another, “the musical, is an age old trial that each one must go through to prove their magic.”

”This right of passage” says the last one, “is important. Without it, bard witches’ powers would never be fully realized.”

”And I think we have a good amount of powerful witchlings to go through it this year.”

”Usually, witchlings go through this alone. But two young bards will go through the trial together.”

”Azura Blight-Noceda, daughter of the saviors of the Boiling Isles, and Ash Park, son of grudgby and gardening, are two particularly powerful bard students. Their fates are so incredibly intertwined that this council has decided to let them complete this trial together. However, we will issue a more challenging trial.”

”That is where you come in, Bookwriter. We ask for you to challenge these students, and make them stronger. Do you accept?”

A smile creeps onto The Bookwriter’s face.

“I accept.” He says.

The council of dark cloaked disappears.

The Bookwriter begins to laught softly yet, maniacally. His eyes open slowly as he addressed the empty theater.

”Azura Blight-Nocead. Ash Park. You have no idea what your in for.”

The music begins to start and The Bookwriter sings.

The Bookwriter:

Michael Rennie was ill,
The Day the Earth Stood Still,
But he told us where we stand.
And Flash Gordon was there,
In silver underwear,
RDJ was Iron Man.
Then something went wrong,
For Godzilla and King Kong,
They got caught in a celluloid jam.
Then at a deadly pace,
it came from outer space,
And this is how the message ran...

I knew Leo G. Carrol,
Was over a barrel,
When Tarantula took to the hills,
And I really got hot,
When I saw Janette Scott
Fight a Tripid that spits poison and kills,
But when worlds collide,
Said Luz Noceda to her bride,
I’m gonna give you some terrible thrills.

The song ends and The Bookwriter faces the empty audience and winks. The lights on the stage go out and The Bookwriter disappears.

I parodied the lyrics for the purposes of parody.
Chapters will be longer than this. Prologue is just short so we can get things going.
