Work Text:

"Winter! Winter!" Leo ran through the halls of the castle in his typical five-year-old child way. "Winter! Catra said we can have pizza for dinner!"

Winter came out of her room, pale blue dress swishing around her ankles. She picked Leo up in her arms and said, "Are you sure that's true? Catra would lie about that,"

Leo looked disappointed. "Oh,"

"We'll ask Adora, ok? She'll tell us," They said, walking through to the kitchen.

Leo played with Winter's white hair as they walked. Her cat ears twitched at the touch. Most of her was white, actually. Her tail, her hair, her ears, skin, eyes, even her magic. All white. She was albino, after all.

Reaching the kitchen, Leo promptly jumped out of Winter's arms in a very cat-like manner. "Are we having pizza? are we? are we? are we?"

Adora was caught a little by surprise. "No, Leo, we aren't. I don't know where you heard that."

Winter leaned against the wall. "Apparently Catra told him. What are having, anyway?"

"Pasta bake," Adora said, putting a dish in the oven. "Got yourself a girlfriend yet? Or are you still 'friend with befits' with Ophelia?" She smirked.

"We never were, Mom,"

"Single at seventeen. So sad," Adora tutted.

Winter sighed. "You were single at seventeen,"

"I was fighting in a war. I didn't have time."

"Catra says otherwise,"

"Oh that bloody cat. I've got half a mind to run away with Glimmer,"

"Please say you're joking,"

"I am,"

"Good. I'm going outside to sit in the sun with mom,"

Adora turned around quickly as Winter left the room. "Don't forget to put on sun cream! You know your skin burns easily!"

Winter smiled. "Adora. I don't need you to remind me. I'm almost an adult,"

Adora smiled back, full of love for her daughter.

Winter sat in the deck chair next to Glimmer.

"Catra was sitting there," Glimmer said, not turning her head.

"I'm here now," Winter replied.
