The smell of freshly brewed coffee hit their senses, spreading throughout the room as a man with dark blue haired strode inside while holding a tray of four glasses of the said drink. Everyone could easily see the steam leaving the glass, vaporizing into the air. Actually, it was not the first time they had seen that view, they had lost count of how much exactly. Still, getting bored from it never once crossed their minds.
He walked carefully so he should not spill what he just made to the center of the room where his three other mates were.
"It smells good, just like you, Chanhee ya" his mate had said as the said male set the tray down on the table. It was nothing but truth that the omega's own scent had a fragrant of coffee in it, "This is a new one" said the dark blue-haired male, Choi Chanhee.
"I'm trying out something new before we leave tomorrow" he said again.
"Well, you're a fantastic barista so I'm sure this one will be a hit too," said his mate who was sitting on the corner of the couch.
"Thank you Sangyeon hyung" said Chanhee, "Careful though, they're still hot."
Seeing the expressions of everyone who just took a sip of the coffee, a satisfied smile made its way to Chanhee's face.
"Wow! You should definitely add it to the menu, Chanhee ya" said the man sitting next to Sangyeon.
"I'm glad you like it, Younghoon hyung" said Chanhee to his fellow older omega.
"Well this one definitely suits my preference so an A from me," said the last person before pulling Chanhee closer and kissing him on the lips.
"It's an honor, Jacob hyung" said Chanhee, letting out small giggles.
"By the way, have you finished packing Chanhee ya?" asked Sangyeon
A nod from the omega was his reply, "I'm all good to go"
"I love this place. We made a lot of memories here," said Younghoon.
"I'm gonna miss this place too but we'll just have to make new memories on the new place later. That, I can't wait" resolved Chanhee, taking another sip from his glass.
"I know loves, it's hard for me to leave too but we have too" said Sangyeon.
They had to move, they couldn't stay there any longer, not for a reason. And everyone in the pack understood this.
"That's why I have no regret on moving, I understand what at risk here" said Younghoon
"Honestly for me, wherever we live doesn't matter as long as I'm with you all, my true home" said Jacob, "Just like what they say right? A house isn't necessarily your home"
"That's really sweet" said Younghoon
Sangyeon was beyond gratreful to be blessed with beautiful kind loving mates, "Thank you, loves"
"Oh, I almost forgot!" exclaimed Chanhee, quickly standing up.
"What is it, darling?" asked Jacob
"Have any of you seen Juyeon?" he asked back instead of answering.
"Last time I checked, he was asleep with Haknyeon in his bedroom. Why? Do you need something from him?" asked Younghoon
"My hat, he borrowed it the other day and I want to wear it tomorrow" said Chanhee
"The blue one?" asked Younghoon, "I think I saw it in his room—on the table" said Younghoon
"Oh really? Thank you, hyung" said Chanhee, making his way to leave the room.
After the omega had left, they continued to chat some more.
"You know, I still can't help but wonder what if nothing changes? What will happen to Sunwoo, Eric, and Haknyeon?" asked Jacob, "What if all our efforts to keep them, to keep all of us, safe end in smoke? We can't lose them"
"I don't know myself but we have to at least try, we owe it to them" said Sangyeon, "And do not be afraid, nothing will end up in vein—I will do anything in my power to keep you all safe" he added after that, he would never forgive himself if something bad happened to any of them.
This new building had a much higher level of security than their current building, and their new place was on the eighth floor, making it difficult for a mere stranger to go near their house without getting noticed. Not to mention about the requirement of id card just to use the stairs or the lift.
The oldest omega of the pack, Jacob, moved to rest his head on Younghoon's shoulder. You could easily recognize worry on his face, written among his other expressions.
"We're gonna keep each other safe" said Younghoon, correcting their head alpha.
"And I'm not afraid, alpha... You've been keeping us safe all this time" said Jacob
These kind of times, where they were the only ones present—usually with Jaehyun there too— it was the only time they confided their worries out. Being the older ones in the pack gave them a sense of responsbillity and the desire not to show the younger ones that they were in distress.
Younghoon said, "We're going to try our best and make this works, we always do"
"There is no doubt about that" said Sangyeon.
Yeah, they could totally do this.
Later that night, they all gathered inside their nest room for their final night in the apartment that had been their home for the last four years. Here and there, everyone looked as comfortable here and there as ever.
It had been three exhausting days of a massive packing their stuff up. They had actually lost count on how many boxes they needed, Hyunjae had to go and get six extra boxes.
Still, everything was worth it. It was kinda nice to have all the memories coming back and a little flashback, espescially when they found things that held old memories of them in which they had memontarily forget.
"Haknyeon ah" called the head alpha who had his arms wrapped around Eric.
"Yes hyung?" asked the man in question, sitting on Hyunjae's laps, leaning against the older alpha's broad chest, while his eyes stayed focused at the game he was playing on his phone.
"I think there will be a boy in your age from our soon to be neighbor—our future landlord said that he and his packmates are good people" said Sangyeon, "Maybe you two could be good friends, who knows right?"
As it was clear, none of the pack members were on his age. He could get very lonely at times—particularly, since the boy was really shy with new people. Only once you got to know him then he could get pretty talkactive, sometimes even too talkactive.
Luckily, though, Eric and Sunwoo did a wondeful job of including the older one on their fun agenda and making sure he didn't feel lonely at most of the times—just the three of them and that was how the three ended up getting really close.
"Is he..an omega?" asked Haknyeon, eyes still on his phone but his tone lacked of confidence.
It wasn't that he despised the idea of making a new friend whose alpha or beta—that'd be ridiculous since he liked having new friends considering how big a social butterfly he was — just that with everything that had been going on lately, he felt that he would be more comfortable if this new neighbor boy that Sangyeon had mentioned was an omega since he was one as well.
"That, I don't know" said Sangyeon, "Guess you just have to find out yourself later"
"We'll see 'bout that hyung" said Haknyeon, turning off the phone as he had just lost for the fifth time—he enjoyed playing games, that didn't mean he was that good at it.
"I'm sleepy, Alpha" uttered Haknyeon, turning his body around—his legs was now straddling Hyunjae's lap, wrapping his arms around the older's neck, and nuzzling his face into the crook of the older's neck.
"Sleep, pup" said Hyunjae, his right hand was running circles across the omega's back. Upon the gesture, Hyunjae could feel the low purr his omega was emitting. Feeling the small vibration actually gave the older a sense of calmness, knowing that his omega was comfortable.
"Hyung, you said there are only two apartments on our floor, right hyung?" asked Changmin
"Yes, that's true—We would only have one neighbor on the same floor" said Jacob
The floor on the new building that they would move into only had two apartment units. Designed for large packs, each apartment was pretty spacious—perfect for them. So far, Sangyeon and Jacob were the only ones who had seen the place in person—the rest only looked at the photos they took—and they were informed that the other apartment already had a tenant, a pack of thirteen.
Lying in Sangyeon's arms, Eric suddenly clasped his hands together loudly which immediately gained the attention of the rest—even Haknyeon who already dozing off, though the omega went straight back snuggling into Hyunjae's shoulder. Apparently, the newly presented omega was excited about what had just crossed his mind.
"We should prepare a gift" said Eric, "People like gifts, right?" he glanced at the head alpha.
"Of course, sweetie. I'm sure they would appreciate some gifts" said Sangyeon—he always love this side of the boy, excited over the small things. The happy Eric.
"Nice idea Eric ah—What do you think we should give them, hmm?" asked Juyeon, hand caressing Sunwoo's head.
"A basket full of snacks and a basket full of cookies too — oh! — oh!—and we could write our information then we can pin it on the basket and.... and..." blabbered Eric, that was a lot of 'and's.
"Let's keep it short to two gifts, 'kay?" said Sangyeon, jokingly pinching Eric's nose that earned a loud giggle from the youngest omega.
"I think we should also invite them for dinner too, maybe throwing a little housewarming party" suggested Sunwoo, his voice was muffled a little as he nuzzled his head on Juyeon's arms.
"Yeah, we should do that — as soon as we settle in of course" agreed Jacob
"I can't wait to woo them with my cooking skills" said Kevin
"What do you mean by wooing them, huh?" asked Younghoon, pouting.
"Someone's jealous~" teased Kevin
"Should I be?" asked Younghoon, raising one of his eyebrows
"Of course not, I'm all yours" said Kevin
"That's so cheesy~ of you" said Younghoon, but they ended up laughing out loud.
As the conversation went on, all the omegas fell asleep fairly quickly in the warmth their mates provided—including Eric who was pretty elated earlier. Perhaps also due to the fact that their second heat wave of the year had just finished few days ago—the exhaustion still lingering.
That being said, each omega had their own way of reacting to the end of the heat, like an after heat phase acvtually.
Eric, their youngest omega, would get even more elated after his heat ended but extremely tired afterward. However, since this was his second heat ever, his way of coping might change in the future. It was like the inner omega of every newly presented ones still adjusting to the changes. On the other hand, Haknyeon and Chanhee would get very sleepy and needy of attention. They would stick to their mates very closely, especially the alphas — seeking for cuddles, kisses, basically any form of affection they could get. At those times, their mates had to be careful with them since the two would still be sensitive. One wrong act could send them dropping. And an omega dropping right after their heat cycle, it never turned out well for any cases.
Next, the second oldest omega, Younghoon, would get really possesive over anything especially his mates. No one was allowed to leave the nest, they had to do it when the omega was asleep. Meanwhile for Jacob's case, he seemed to be very affectionate, especially to the betas. He loved giving them attention and getting it back in return as well.
And then the room would be filled with sweet pheromones the omegas let out. Truthfully, it was really nice and surely was one of their favorite moments.
Like at the moment, Eric was still in his previous position — in the head alpha's arms — in where Younghoon had moved to lay next to the youngest omega, arm draped over the younger's waist before Kevin joined them as well, hugging his omega hyung from behind and brushing his thumb against their soulmark on the older's wrist gently.
On the other side of the nest, Hyunjae was still holding Haknyeon in his laps—the boy had fallen asleep in a sitting position—while he himself was leaning back to the wall. Haknyeon looked so comfortable in his arms that he didn't dare to move even an inch. He could almost believe that the younger was melting into his arms, literally.
There also, Juyeon was spooning Sunwoo from behind—the youngest alpha was fast asleep as well. Maybe packing up drained more energy from the alpha than they had originally thought. Lastly, Chanhee was being sandwiched between Changmin and Jacob. Changmin's nose was on his nape while Jacob's chin was on the top of his head. Jacob reached over his arm so he was holding Changmin's hand. The three of them were still awake, just enjoying each other's presence.
Even though the alphas ruts ended two days earlier from the omegas heats, they with the help of the betas never failed at taking care of their omegas thoroughly until the very end.
"We're doing this right, aren't we? By moving out" asked Changmin as he gently stroked Jacob's arm.
"I really hope so, baby" said Sangyeon. "But I won't stay in a place where my pack is hurting"
"Hyung, what would you say when someone ask the reason of our moving?" asked Kevin
"That we just need a change of everything" cut Hyunjae
"Or that it's just time for us to move" said Sangyeon, "Listen to me sweetheart, what they think or presume doesn't matter, understand?"
"Understand, hyung" said Kevin, flashing his smile at the older.
Hyunjae's expression suddenly turned into a little frown as he felt the small movement of the younger in his arm, "Changmin ah, baby, could you perhaps grab my jacket on the chair?" asked Hyunjae from where he was sitting.
"Of course, hyung" said Changmin, getting up from his position.
"Why do you need a jacket? Are you cold, hyung?" asked Juyeon
"No, but Haknyeon is shivering a little" said Hyunjae, "You know how sensitive his body is after his heat"
Juyeon nodded in agreement, knowing well that Haknyeon's body was very sensitive towards the temperature after his heat ended and it usually lasted for several days.
By the time Changmin returned with the older's navy jacket and his own, Hyunjae had successfully changed their position into laying down without waking up the omega at all. In order to do that, he had to move very carefully and slowly. Thus, now Haknyeon was laying between Sunwoo and himself.
"I brought mine too incase yours isn't enough, hyung" said Changmin
"Thank you, sweetheart. You're the best" complimented Hyunjae
The said beta smiled at the alpha's compliment, he loved compliments.
With one hand, Hyunjae put his jacket on Haknyeon's back who unconsciously snuggled up to him.
"We should get some sleep as well. Tomorrow's going to be another tiring day" said Sangyeon
And he was right, tomorrow was going to be a tiring yet exciting day.
Hopefully it all would be worth it.

Sound of footsteps came into hearing as three men—dressed in expensive boardroom attire
(formal suits, pants, high-end ties, white shirts, and closed-toe oxfords shoes), typical office worker—strode inside the big room, apparently a kitchen.
Although that sound was overlapped by the noise coming from the kitchen itself—in front of the counter—precisely sound someone made when they cooked.
The tall male who was cooking took a glance at them when he heard the door was opened and said, "Do you have time for breakfast, guys?"
"I made some egg rolls, scrambled eggs too if you don't like egg rolls, and beef sandwiches" the tall alpha added.
"Hmm~ sounds and smells delicious, Mingyu ya" said the first male—a black suit set, brown shoes, dark blue tie, and a silver watch hanging proudly around his left wrist.
"Thank you Seungcheol hyung" said Mingyu
"Yeah, I think we can spare some minutes for breakfast" said the second oldest alpha, Jeonghan, who was dressed in similar outfit as Seungcheol but navy suit instead of black and golden watch instead of silver.
"Alright, have a seat then. I'll just have to plate these egg rolls first" said Mingyu, laying out the sandwiches on five small plates and serving it on the counter before focusing back on the egg rolls that was still on the pan.
"Jun ah! Hurry up and have some breakfast!" yelled the last male, Wonwoo, also dressed in suit.
As the three companions took their seats in front of the counter—ready to devour their mate's delicious cooking—they could hear the hurried footsteps coming to their way.
"Coming!" a half-yelled voice was heard next.
"I'm all done" said Mingyu as he put the egg rolls on the counter and took a seat as well.
"Sorry guys, I kinda overslept" said Jun who just entered the room.
"It's alright Jun ah, we're not late. I just want you to have some breakfast before we go" said Wonwoo as Jun sat next to Mingyu.
"Thank you Mingyu ya, I love your sandwich," said Jun
"Eat a lot then, hyung" said Mingyu, "I made many if you want more"
"Thank you, Gyu" said Jun before taking a bite
"Anyway, there's something I want to ask you" said Mingyu, returning his attention to the oldest in the room.
"You own the company, can't you just be late?" asked Mingyu, "You always leave early in the morning and get home late night"
"I surely can but I do have responsibility, baby" answered the head alpha, "I can't just act as I please. I need to set a right example for the people who work under me"
"But you work too much, hyung—you all do" said Mingyu
"You're the one to say—you literally travel around the world for four months in a year" said Jun, "We only got to see you through video call"
"Fair point" said Mingyu, "But I won't be doing that again soon though, not after I open my new restaurant"
True, for the last two years, Mingyu had traveled around the world in search of foods that would fit to be put on the menu for his own restaurant that he had been dreaming to open for the last four years.
And if everything worked well, his dream should be able to come true this year after all the preparations he made.
"How about all of you take a day off today? We could go somewhere or we can just stay at home and maybe welcome this new neighbor of us" suggested Mingyu
"I'm sorry sweetheart, I can't today" said Jeonghan
"But let's plan something in the future" cut Wonwoo, it was never easy letting a mate down.
"Okay then, have a nice day hyungs" said Mingyu, "I love you all"
The tall alpha kissed his mates goodbye one by one—wishing he could do that more often but they all were so busy.
"Oh crap! The cake" he totally forgot that he was supposed to be baking the cake right now for their new neighbor just like what they had discussed last night.
~ Flashback ~
"Hyung" called out the youngest omega of the pack, eyes widening with excitement.
Since he was the youngest in that room as well, the remaining heads on the room turned to him.
"Yes Channie?" asked Jeonghan
"I heard that a new pack is moving in to this building, right next to us" said Chan, excitement crystal clear.
"I did recall Mr. Lee telling me few days ago that a pack of eleven males are moving in, it's probably them, right?" guessed Seungcheol "But why are you so excited, pup?" amused at the younger.
"Because we're having a new neighbor and I heard there is someone in my age. I hope we could be friend, that would be nice" said Chan enthusiastically.
"Should we give them a welcome present, then? Homemade cake perhaps?" suggested Seokmin
"Can we really, hyung?" asked Chan, eyes litting up at the idea, looking endearing.
Their maknae was visibly thrilled at the thought of having a new neighboor. Perhaps since they had been the only tenants on that floor for over three years. Other than that reason, Chan didn't encounter that many friends on his age aside from his college friends—he had been in the pack for over six years and he had always been the youngest both in his real blood family and the pack. Even though most of the times it was nice to be the youngest because the hyungs loved to pamper him all the time but there were times where he wished he could talk to someone in his age or even younger than him in the pack.
"Of course, we can baby" said Seungcheol
"That's settled then, I'll bake something delicious with Seokmin" said Mingyu
"You're the best hyung!" said Chan giving the older his two thumbs up and a wide smile.
~ End of Flashback ~
As the four headed to the underground parking lot, Jeonghan couldn't help but notice the slight distress on their head alpha face. It wasn't written evidently on his face as if he was trying to hide it but Jeonghan had been mated to him for the last six years and had known him before that, that taught him how to read his alpha mate like an open book.
"What's wrong, Cheol ah?" asked Jeonghan, the other two were few meters ahead of them talking by themselves so they wouldn't hear their conversation if they kept their voices low enough.
"Nothing" said Seungcheol but his voice itself helf a significant amount of doubt.
So Jeonghan raised an eyebrow and gave him a look that said 'Don't lie to me'
"It's just that—I just hope that there will be no problem when it comes to territorry, we'll respect theirs and they'll respect ours. We still win in numbers but that would mean nothing if that pack consist more dominant alpha than us" said Seungcheol
"You're talking about our new neighbor?" asked Jeonghan and he nodded.
"Honestly, that worries me too" said Jeonghan
"But you think we'll just have to wait and find out, right?" asked Seungcheol
"Yeah, that's all we could do" said Jeonghan
Having a new neighbor meant a good thing, right? Sure he hoped so.
But if it wasn't, Seungcheol wouldn't hesitate to do anything in order to protect his pack. Mess with him and you shall never see the light again.

The moment Eric stepped down from the first car, he went straight bouncing excitedly—definitely did not match with the way he dressed in black fancy outfit (thigh jeans, sleeveless shirt, and accessories like shiny necklace and bracelet). He might look chic but he definitely acted cute instead, like a five years old kid on his way to buy ice cream.
"Calm down Eric ah, the apartment isn't going anywhere" said Younghoon
"But we are moving into a new house, this is a historic day for us" said Eric, they were glad that the boy looked happy.
Kevin who watched the whole conversations could only let out giggles at their behavior, "Eric ah, look here!" he said as he pointed the camera on his hand.
"One—two—three—cheese!!" counted Kevin as he took the picture of his overly posing mate.
Total of five cars had arrived in the basement parking lot—four were their own cars and one was a truck which carried all their stuff.
"Eric ah, wanna race to the eighth floor? Through the stairs, no lift" dared Sunwoo
"Let's go!" said Eric
Without a chance to stop them, the two were already dashing off towards the emergency stairs.
"Hyung, you shouldn't have given them the access cards" said Hyunjae
"There's no way they would help us moving the boxes, right?" asked Haknyeon
"Well it looks like we will be two pairs of arms short afterall" said Jacob
Sangyeon was sighing and shaking his head at their unpredictable yet somehow predictable behaviors, "Someone please follow them and make sure they... they actually get to the eighth floor—also tell them to help us down here while you're at it"
Thankfully, he had scented both of his youngest mates before he got down from the car — he didn't want to take any chances.
"I'll do it" said Changmin, "They'll listen to me" Well, no doubt there.
"C'mon let's help the ahjussis unload our stuff" said Sangyeon
Even though they hired movers from professional moving company, they all still took a day off from work to help them bring all their stuff to their new home and then unpacking them.
However, even with all that, there was no way that they would be finished in one day. That was why some of them took two or three days off more.
"Hyung, I'm going up first" said Haknyeon, dressed in a very comfortable clothes—grey hoodie and grey loose pants, a black hat and a mask.
"Wait for me" said Younghoon, catching up with the younger as both carrying boxes with their name on it.
The walk to the lift was a short one before Younghoon pressed the up button, "I'm excited to see our new home" said the older
"Me too hyung, I kinda have a high expectation from all the photos" said Haknyeon
Their conversation was cut short when Juyeon caught up with them, "Let's go together, we're not familiar with the environment just yet" saod Juyeon
Since they didn't know how the people living in the building were just yet, Sangyeon felt insecure and nervous on letting his mates especially the omega ones walked alone without an alpha or a beta. Therefor, he sent Juyeon for them, even when he already scented them. They all were going to the same place afterall.
"Okay hyung" said Haknyeon
Juyeon let out his dominant pheromone, not enough to threaten another alpha but enough to let any alpha know that these omegas were his mates and dare to mess with them, meant war.
As they were approaching the lift, they could've sworn they heard familiar voices — familiar whining voice.
Suprisingly, or not, when the door was finally opened, they were served with the view of Eric and Sunwoo whining up their throat at the youngest beta.
"You both have to help, end of story" said Changmin, hands dragging their's.
"Don't I get a youngest free pass card?" whined Eric
"Yeah, don't we?" added Sunwoo
"There is no such a thing!" fired Changmin back
"Why~ There should be" it was Sunwoo's turn to whine louder.
The three walked into the lift laughing at their youngests antics. The whining continued to be heard even as the lift went up. After the laughter had died down, they merely waited in silence—it was rather a nice silence though.
"We're here" said Juyeon as the lift door opened up.
"We're in unit 802 so not this one——there!" said Younhoon as they passed the unit 801.
"Ready?" asked Younghoon
"Totally hyung" said Haknyeon while Juyeon nodded.
Younghoon then scanned the access card on the door's lock and they heard a loud clicking sound. It felt real, more than ever.
"We're home" said Younghoon, pushing the door open.
"Woah~" the only word leaving their mouths as they digested the whole view of the luxury apartment.
Putting the box down, they were back being mesmerized by the whole apartment. Sangyeon had said that they bought the apartment including all the furniture inside, but they didn't thought it would be this great.
They had only been there for less than two minutes but they already fell in love, hard.

"So how do you guys liking our new house?" asked Sangyeon after they were done for the day.
All the boxes had been brought up—took about four hours more or less.
So at the moment, all left to do was unpacking—an activity for tomorrow, they had decided.
"I love it hyung, so so much!" exclaimed Eric in much excitement.
"It's perfect for us" said Younghoon
"It is hyung" said Kevin
"Glad we choose the right one then" said Jacob
Although beds were available on the bedrooms, there was no bed for their nest yet. And since none of them wanted to sleep separately that night, looked like bunking up on mattresses in the living room would just do.
Fine for all of them, actually. It was better than sleeping in a different room on their first night.
"Alright listen guys—aside from the nest room, we have five other bedrooms so some people have to room up with other people" said Sangyeon, "Two, two, two, two, and three"
"Let's draw names from a hat" suggested Younghoon, "Fair, right?"
Seeming like the most fair way, they all agreed on the idea.
And this was who they ended up with,
First, Sunwoo, Haknyeon, and Eric took the largest bedroom, located not far from the main door. Second, Chanhee and Sangyeon took the one next to the bathroom. Meanwhile, Jacob and Hyunjae got the bedroom next to the youngests's. Changmin and Juyeon claimed the room close to the kitchen. Lastly, Kevin and Younghoon's bedroom was the fartest from the main door.
Everyone was satisfied with the results—everyone as in the three youngest mostly.
A slight doubt was present at everyone's thoughts of letting all the three youngest bunk up in the same room. However, the loud protests coming from the very same three themselves shut the hyungs up.
"No taking back!" was their defense.
The rest could only wonder how chaotic it would get in the future.
Guess they would just have to prepare themselves. Braces for the loud nights, the pranks, the secrets. But if that was what it took for them to see their smiles everyday, they all were more than willing to accept this fate.
"Let's order some food!" yelled Haknyeon
Sometime in the afternoon, came a couple of knocks on the door.
None of them had gotten the bell done yet so whoever on the door was had no choice but to use the old way of letting their presence known.
"Coming!" half-yelled Haknyeon, still dressed in that hoodie, jogging a little to the door.
As he pushed the door open, a wave of a strong dominant alpha's scent greeted his nose but among it he could also smell a sweet scent that usually belonged to an omega.
Those unfamiliar scent almost gave him an headache but somehow it didn't. Instead, his inner omega was kinda reaching out to those new scents.
Doubtless weird and confusing because it had never happened before and it shouldn't have.
Anyway, he was met with three totally stranger people—all male—but looking harmless, at least to him.
"Uhmm.. Good afternoon?" said Haknyeon, unsure what to say. Being stared directly by three people made Haknyeon suddenly felt timid and nervous.
"Good afternoon, hi, nice to finally meet you" said the tall looking guy, definitely the alpha and the one who produced that strong scent.
Haknyeon was sure that the guy himself didn't mean to push out that scent—it happened on strong alphas, the scent just leaked naturally as a form of their dominance.
Especially after he broke out a smile, looking totally harmless and more like a happy big puppy.
"Meet me?" asked Haknyeon, furrowing his eyebrows together.
"Uh sorry" the other male giggles before continuing, "What my mate means, it's nice to finally meet our new neighbor after three years without one"
"Ahh—I guess it's nice to meet you too" said Haknyeon, offering a small shy smile.
"Haknyeon ah, who's at the door?!"
"Our neighbor, hyung!" yelled Haknyeon back
"Uhmm we just want to give you this, our hommade cake" said the third guy, shaking the box in his hand a little.
"Wait, shouldn't we start with introduction first?" asked Haknyeon, still avoiding eye contact, "Uhm I don't mean to reject your cake.. Uhm I just... I thought it would be better to at least say our name first?" Haknyeon added in rush, he was afraid of making a bad impression on his new neighbor.
But thankfully the smile on their faces stayed wide. They still looked pleased and excited to meet and get to know him.
"Right, how silly of us—My name is Chan and these are my mates, Seokmin hyung and Mingyu hyung, they baked the cake" said Chan
Haknyeon made a small bow towards them, "I'm Ju Haknyeon"
"Here you are" said Seokmin, handing the cake to Haknyeon
"Thank you" said Haknyeon, offerin a smile.
If they both felt a small jolt as their hands brushed against each other, both failed to pick up on that.
Suddenly someone came behind Haknyeon, opening the door even wider.
"Hello, I'm Sangyeon—the head alpha of the pack... Thank you for the hospitality" said Sangyeon
Just like Haknyeon, Sangyeon could also felt the strong scent and if he didn't see their expressions, he would've taught they came to challenge him.
The head alpha still pulled Haknyeon closer to him, even when the omega was still reeked in the alpha's scent "So I heard that there are thirteen people in your pack" said Sangyeon
"Yes, that's true" said Mingyu
"We have eleven people" said Haknyeon
"I'm looking forward to meeting all of them" said Sangyeon, offering a warm smile.
"We are too" said Chan
"Well we want to give something in return too but we haven't had the time to buy it" said Haknyeon. Now that his head alpha was with him, it gave him a little bit confidence to speak more. Because he knew, that nothing bad would happen if Sangyeon was with him.
"It's alright, you don't have to" said Mingyu
"Nonsense, we want to return the hospitality" said Sangyeon
"We really appreciate it, thank you" said Seokmin
"After my pack and I settle in, we would like to invite all of you over to have a dinner" said Sangyeon, just like Sunwoo had suggested.
"That'd be great, my other mates would be delightful to hear the invitation" said Mingyu
"I'm glad to hear that" said Sangyeon, breaking a smile out.
"Anyway, feel free to ask anything to us" said Chan
"We will, thank you" said Sangyeon
"Alright, I think we bother you enough for today... See you around" said Mingyu
"It's not a bother at all—see you around too, I guess" said Sangyeon
And after bidding goodbye, the three strangers—not so anymore— finally left and they watched them entering their own apartment.
"They seem like nice people, hyung" said Haknyeon
"I think so too, baby" said Sangyeon
"I love moving to this place, hyung" said Haknyeon
"Me too, pup" said Sangyeon before pulling Haknyeon into a short kiss session
"Hyung, they said they baked the cake themselves" said Haknyeon after they parted away.
"Really? Let's cut it" said Sangyeon, "Go to the others, pup—I'll grab the knife and the plates"
"Okay hyung" said Haknyeon
Meanwhile on the other house, their short visit was surely became a topic for them.
"So how are they?" asked Seungkwan as soon as they joined the rest on the nest.
Even if most of them were home, they had still decided to send only three people to deliver the cake.
"We only met two members of the pack—the head alpha, Sangyeon, and his omega, Haknyeon" said Mingyu
"They seem nice" he added
Seungcheol felt himself relaxing a bit—it wasn't much but Mingyu was a damn good characters judge so maybe he was right this time too.
"Do you see the omega, Haknyeon? He's so cute! He looks so small and hugable too, dressed in that grey hoodie! I really want to pinch his cheeks" squealed Seokmin
"Yeah! I wonder how old he is" said Chan, "Wait!" yelped the youngest.
"He's as tall as I am, so are you saying I'm small too, hyung?" asked Chan, pouting
"Well you're surely not big, Chan ah" said Seokmin, "But you're cute too—that makes it up"
"Fine, I can work with cute too" said Chan but the pout still visible.
"Oh and by the way, they're inviting us over for a dinner after they finish the whole unpacking bussiness" said Mingyu
"Really? We shall go then" said Jeonghan, "Right Cheol ah?"
"Yeah, we should—I'm looking forward to get to know them better as well" said Seungcheol
"I already told him, we will come to the dinner" said Mingyu
Somehow the three still remembered how sweet Haknyeon's vanilla scent was and how strong Sangyeon's freshly burned wood scent was. As if those scents were now imprinted on their brain and it was hard to forget them.
Definitely weird and confusing.
And if anything, they kept it to themselves
