Loves in the air

Summary:

Outside in the cool night air and beneath the starlit sky was an arch of white roses symbolizing the eternal love they shared. Her shadows cheered with each step that touched the barren earth and the smile that grew and grew. Dark raven hair fluttered as the bride stepped forward nearing the altar. The lavender roses she held in her hand matched the violet glint in her sparkling silver-blue eyes.

Aka A happy wedding between Fem Sung Jinwoo and Woo Jinchul

also SJW is female in this fic. ok?

Notes:

Idk how to write wedding vows so I just put whatever in, sorry if it doesn't make sense or sounds weird.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Outside in the cool night air and beneath the starlit sky was an arch of white roses symbolizing the eternal love they shared. Her shadows cheered with each step that touched the barren earth and the smile that grew and grew. Dark raven hair fluttered as the bride stepped forward nearing the altar. Lavender roses she held in her hand matched the violet glint in her sparkling silver-blue eyes.

She walked down the white and purple petaled road behind Jin-ah who gave one last toss of the petals into the air. Her mother walked her down the aisle and her arm a gentle squeeze before letting her daughter walk up to the altar.

In return, her soon husband to be stood there gazing back with fond eyes and a faint smile that made her heart flutter. Woo Jin-Chul wore a dark navy blue suit, his hair slicked back and he wore a lavender rose as a broach. He watched as the other glanced over to the people seated in the audience. Close friends and family attended along with some unexpected guests such as S-rank Thomas Andre, Baek Yoonho, and Choi Jong-in who said they heard from a friend… most likely was Hunter Cha Hae-in who was bragging about her invitation to the wedding. Not to mention the thousands of shadows stationed discreetly around the area to make sure that nothing would go wrong on their wedding day.

Yoo Sangah was at the altar behind a podium and coughed lightly to the attention of the two lovebirds.

“Ahem... We are gathered here today to celebrate the uniting of two amazing people. Sung Jinwoo-ssi and Woo Jin-chul-ssi. Now, Jin-Chul-ssi, do you take Jinwoo-ssi to be your lawfully wedded wife for better or worse in sickness and health till death shall embrace thee and if were one to be so foolish to break thy promise of matrimony shall take up upon the wrath of the abyss?”     (Beru helped out with writing the vows)

“I do.”

“Jinwoo-ssi do you take Jin-Chul-ssi to be your lawfully wedded wife for better or worse in sickness and health till death shall embrace thee and if one to be foolish to break thy promise of matrimony shall embrace the lonesome of the abyss?”

“I do.”

There was no hesitation in their voices, full of tenderness and overwhelming with love. Both sharing the moment where they felt a sense of calming joy washing over as the rings slid on their ring fingers and Sangah announced…

“I now declare you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Jinwoo had a smug smirk as she leaned in while the latter held a light blush looking a little flustered. She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled as she pulled into a kiss. Her shadows cheered and she could hear Beru being the loudest of them all with his shrills and singing praise. She was truly happy at this moment if only her father could have been here to see her in her wedding gown or to meet her beloved husband….

Breaking away from the kiss she looked out to her family and friends and chuckled when she saw the kids in the audience covering their eyes. Next to them were their guardians Kim Dokja and Yoo Jonghyuk along with the rest of the Kim Dokja company. Jung Heewon gave her a thumbs up while her partner Lee Hyungsung clapped cheering for the newlywed couple.

Their wedding was truly spectacular, she reminisced as she waved to the married couple. Before turning around and raising the rose bouquet in her left hand.

She tossed the bouquet and flew high up into the sky. She smiled with a radiant grin on her face while her husband chuckled, intertwining their hands to watch the audience. The audience watched the bouquet of roses reach higher and higher till it reached a few dozens of meters before letting gravity take control. It fell as loose petals took off in the wind that rushed behind it as it headed towards the group.

“Kim Dokja! Look up!”

She shouted at the man in white and as he did a bouquet smacked him in the face earning a few laughs from the surrounding people. It was a little bit late in the reaction but they then realized he caught the bouquet. Sung Jinwoo smirked looking at her friend then over Yoo Jonghyuk which she gave a nod. The latter noticed the action and immediately understood walking over to his companion and placing a hand on his waist.

“He is  my  Life and Death companion”

It caused Kim Dokja to turn beet red too flustered to even process as he could only stammer out…

“Stupid SUNFISH!”

Before dashing off, making both the groom and bride laugh.

They danced under the stars gracefully on-air (literally) as Jinwoo used her abilities to their fullest. They laughed, danced and ate cake along with their family and friends. Jinwoo danced with her sister and mother and then danced with her loyal commander Igris. As he saw it fit to do so as her knight, but of course not without beating the rest of the shadow army at rock paper scissors to have such an opportunity.

Jin-Chul was only slightly jealous when he saw her dancing with Igris but seeing how much fun she was having and knowing the loyalty that lied with him he let it slide this time. To make up for the pouting she put him through she summoned Kaisel and despite his reluctance, she persuaded him to get on the docile wyvern. They soared up into the night sky and a cold wind blew against their skin. The ground below looked small and when they looked up they could see countless stars shining and twinkling back at them. Jinwoo nuzzled closer to Jin-Chul who radiated warmth contrasting with her own body temperature on the cooler side.

“I love you...” Jinwoo whispered.

“I love you too,” Jin-Chul whispered back.

The night went on just like that with the two of them in their own little world. This peacefulness of the night under the stars would last for years to come. With the exception of a few sleepless nights when a baby’s cry is heard.

Notes:

I feel like this was too happy... I wrote this because I was drowning in angst from reading fics so I wrote happy stuff but it feels sappy.

In the next part of the series, I'm thinking of doing orv YJH/KDJ since Kim Dokja did catch the bouquet... might be sometime before the next part though. And I'm destroying the happy wedding with angst, chaos, and a literal wedding crasher.

Thanks for reading!
