Hi beautiful souls! Another artwork is here to be shared with you.
You know that i love these two with all my heart, so i’ve decided to give them another illustration, this time a proper one with both of them.
I don’t think this is entirely a fan art because is mostly inspired by the aesthetic of those two and by their character and because i feel that for me they are a lot more than simply Arthur and Merlin.
They are two archetypes: one is the king who brings the light and the life, and he’s the embodiement of the earth forces, one is the bringer of magic, unconscious and mistery. The link between the two is inevitable and evident and it is based on their complementarity.
I also love to give them little contradictions: Arthur is a mighty king, but he looks at Merlin asking for reassurance. And look how our Merlin, our sweet, sensitive and tenderhearted Merlin, looks at Arthur with indulgence and certainty in his eyes, as to reassure and guide him. They’re made for each other and for me they are much more than two characters, they are the visual rapresentation of how love works.
