Tang San was avoiding Xie Yun and the alpha couldn’t fathom why his omega, his mate, would do something like this. They’ve been dating for 3 years and have been mated for half of that period and while they have had a fair share of differences, the fights, however, never lasted more than an hour and Xie Yun would usually know what got Tang San so worked up that it resulted in omega ignoring him. Tang San didn’t even sleep in their shared bedroom anymore!! Always making excuses about how Xiao Wu needs him.
It was unfair that the omega started ignoring him without any reason, how dare Tang San avoid an alpha and mate as handsome and caring as him!? A devilish smirk made its way on Xie Yun’s face as he devised a plan to capture Tang San with no way out. Xie Yun didn’t like lying to his mate but if it gets Tang San to talk to him properly then there was nothing wrong with it, now was there? And, if his beauty does get angry at him then it’s also a win because Tang San really looked hot that way.
Now here they were, with Tang San trapped between the wooden wall of their shared room and Xie Yun who tricked Tang San into coming to see him by pretending to be severely injured. He glared at the alpha and Xie Yun was half worried that his beauty would take on his spider form but he still couldn’t take his omega seriously when Tang San sported such a cute angry pout, nor could he resist leaning in and kissing his mate.
After the kiss, however, Tang San glared at him even fiercely, his lower lip jutting out even more and Xie Yun could do nothing to smother the fond laugh that bubbled inside his throat. “ Don’t look at me like that my beauty, I wouldn’t have tricked you if you hadn’t ignored me from the start, “, the alpha whispered as he took a lock of Tang San’s hair and played with them, his breath ghosting warmly over the omega’s neck. Tang San shivered and went rigid before all the fight left his body.
He slumped onto Xie Yun bonelessly and the alpha wound his strong arms around the omega’s small waist, pulling him tighter as the usual soft floral ( and milky? How come Xie Yun never noticed it before ) scent of his mate was tinged with the bitterness of biting worry and something else. The omega nuzzled deeper into his alpha’s chest, inhaling the oakwood scent of his mate in turn. The mated pair stood in silence for a while before Tang San broke the silence, “ Yun-Ge…. “, the omega murmured, his voice muffled by Xie Yun’s chest.
The alpha hummed to indicate he was listening, his hands soothingly running up and down Tang San’s sides. Taking a deep breath, the omega pulled back a little to look at Xie Yun in the eye who was smiling encouragingly at him. “ Yun-Ge”, the omega began, “ I am pregnant….. “, Tang San’s voice was barely above a whisper, the alpha wouldn’t have heard him if not for his enhanced hearing and the confession left the omega’s mate shocked, the change in his mate’s scent and everything else clicking in place.
Xie Yun stilled his continuous stroking and Tang San went rigid again, preparing to flee when the alpha suddenly yanked him in a tight embrace. Holding him close, Xie Yun whispered, “ You are serious right A-San? It’s not a joke, right?”, his voice was something fragile, something hopeful as he burrowed deeper inside his omega’s neck. “ I am “, Tang San choked out, his hands fisting on Xie Yun’s robes from where they rested on alpha’s chest, “ It’s not a joke gege “, he spoke shakily, “ I am really pregnant “
Tang San had always wanted to have a family of his own with his beloved but he had always been too scared of voicing it out to Xie Yun, not wanting to scare away the alpha that made his insides feel warm and mushy. Tang San loved Xie Yun more than anything and he hoped the alpha loved him enough to accept the fact that the omega was pregnant with his child. The hope and spark in Xie Yun’s eyes when Tang San revealed his pregnancy, ignited them in the omega’s heart too. Maybe, there’s hope, maybe-
The alpha’s hands around his waist tightened and before Tang San could understand what was happening, the ground was no longer below his feet and he was dangling in the air with an overly happy alpha spinning him around. A joyous squeal left the omega’s mouth and he giggled giddily, intoxicated by his mate’s enthusiasm and happiness. The omega had been preparing for the worst outcome, scared that his mate might not be ready for a child yet, and he was pleasantly surprised with his mate’s reaction.
Finally putting Tang San on his feet again, Xie Yun looked at his omega with shining eyes full of awe, his hands not leaving his mate’s body for even a second before attacking him with kisses. “ Thank you “, a kiss on the forehead, “ thank you “, a kiss on the doe eyes, “ thank you so much “, a kiss on the nose, “ A-San “, a kiss on the cheeks, “ I love you “, a kiss on the lips, chaste and full of pure love just like a prayer answered.
They cried a little that night, tucked under the covers and warm with all the love they felt for each other and the unborn child. It wasn’t until late that Tang San realized something he had been forgetting for a while and shot up, sitting straight as Xie Yun grumbled lightly. “ What happened A-San? “, the alpha asked sitting beside his mate and eyed him worriedly as the said omega looked at him with wide horrified eyes.
“ We are mated “, the omega began and Xie Yun nodded, “ and I am pregnant “, he continued in a low spooked voice and the alpha hummed, trying to understand where his omega was going with all this. “ Yun-Ge “, Tang San said slowly, “ you are a lump of dead meat “, he declared, and Xie Yun gave a short, shocked laugh because that was so ridiculous, however, before he could voice it out, Tang San hissed, “ We are mated and now I am pregnant and my dad knows none of it “, his eyes a little wild.
Now, it was Xie Yun’s turn to look deathly pale. From what he had heard about Tang San’s father from his omega and others, he knows that the man definitely won’t be happy that an alpha mated and knocked up his precious child out of wedlock. After a few more laughs here and giggles there, the omega finally calms down enough to sit properly and fixes Xie Yun with a fond look, who’s still pouting at his omega.

“ That sounds reassuring “, replied Xie Yun, he had intended for it to come out nonchalant and unaffected, not rushed and squeaked out.
