Chapter Text
Twilight flew through the sky, voicing her grief to no one in particular. Her weak sobs echoed into the vast night. She couldn't fight back against the waves of grief and heartbreak that were washing over her. She sped through cloud after cloud, distracted with her thoughts.
How could Mordecai do this to her? How could Fluttershy betray her like that? After everything they had built together? Memories of watching the stars appear with Mordecai by her side came to mind. Twilight sunk deep into her mind, thinking about how he had surprised her with a picnic after a rather crappy day of trying to spread kindness and friendship. He had brought her favorite books, and they read them together under the heat of a lamp, far into the night. How they had pretended the lights of passing airplanes were colorful constellations...
She couldn't bare to think about it anymore. It was all too raw, too fresh, and too painful. She needed a place to go- someplace where she truly felt at home- she needed somepony to lean on.
One special pegasus came to mind.
Someplace else..
Rainbow Dash lingered by the entrance of her house in Cloudsdale. She couldn't help but wonder about the faint cries that echoed through the sky from someplace else. They were all too familiar, to similar to someone she knew but couldn't place it...
A speck of purple appeared in the distance, flying in Rainbow Dash's direction. It seemed to shake uncontrollably as it grew closer, body pulsing to a random rhythm.
Could it be?...
