Chapter Text
“Kenma, I just don’t know what to do.” Whined Hinata flopping onto his friend’s couch. “I like all of them and I am pretty sure they all like me and each other back but they’re somehow so oblivious” He grunted dramatically when Kenma threw a game controller at him trying to grab his attention from his current melodrama. When Hinata looked up he realized that the game Kenma had been playing had been paused and somehow Akaashi had come home all while he was wallowing.
“I’m honestly not surprised about Kageyama being oblivious but Tsukishima has always been pretty observant,” Akaashi mused, weighing in on the situation. Akaashi, Kenma, and Kuroo had an apartment together close to their college campus in Tokyo. Hinata visited his best friend Kenma at least once a month, at first to see what college life was like, but it eventually ended up being his own personal therapy session where he complained about his love life, or lack thereof. Akaashi was quite used to the routine, but seeing as how Shoyo had little time left on the island of Japan he didn’t want the ray of sunshine leaving with what would be a huge regret.
“Tsukki is the closest to realizing it, I can tell. He blushes every time we pass each other to get on and off the court, every time Kageyama compliments one of his spikes and every time Yamaguci pulls out his Captain’s voice.” Hinata told the pretty dark-haired former setter giggling at his Salty teammate’s obvious affection for the other 3. “You’re right Kageyama is oblivious and Yamaguci isn’t much better but it’s just so obvious to me! Arghhh!! Even the first years have asked me which one of us the other is dating,” Hinata grabbed a pillow and screamed his frustration into it.
“You could just talk to them,” Kenma stated like he did every time Hinata brought the subject up. Which was honestly too many times according to Kenma
“Right Kitten, because you just talked to us?” Akaashi questioned the pudding-haired man while smirking.
“I didn’t need to, Kuroo and Bokuto eye fucked each other every chance they could get since second year, you literally chose Fukorodani because you saw Bokuto, Kuroo and I grew up together so he knows me almost as well as I know myself. We all had intense connections that all knew so us eventually dating each other was never in question,” The gamer said nonchalantly, restarting the game he had paused to listen to Shoyo.
Akaashi glared at Kenma, mad that he couldn’t ruffle the cat’s fur but ultimately agreeing with him. It was practically inevitable that the four of them would begin a relationship together. There were just too many things tying them together. Plus it didn’t hurt that all of them were incredibly attractive.
“Besides Sho, if you just tell them and they reject you, you can always join us,” Kenma stated.
“Honestly Bokuto-san and Kuroo would welcome you quite happily,” Akaashi said.
“Like you wouldn’t too Keiji” Kenma teased his serious boyfriend.
“While I definitely wouldn’t turn the option down,” Shoyo said giggling, “I wouldn’t be 100% invested in it which isn’t fair to you guys.” He told the two turning more serious. “I love all three of them and I don’t want to lose our friendship, but even if they all do feel the same way what if they aren’t willing to try because as much as I love you guys and your relationship it is a little out there when you think about society which pushes heterosexual two-person relationships.”
“Who are you and what have you done with Hinata Shoyo?” Akaashi questioned the orange-haired man.
“I’ve been doing research, Tsukkishima and Yamaguci are super smart and will come up with all the potential problems and Kageyama kind of shuts up when big words start getting thrown around so I’ve been practicing,” Hinata admitted. He truly admired the relationship his Tokyo friends had, they all filled a space in the others that made them each individually and collectively better. He just knew that if things worked out between himself, Tobio, Kei, and Tadashi that it would be the same.
“Maybe instead of bring this up out of the blue, how about telling them about us and see how they react?” Akaashi suggested. “This way you can introduce the subject without necessarily putting any added pressure on them.”
“That’s a really good idea Akaashi, thank you! You are so smart! I’m going to go tell them now!” Hinata shouted, jumping up from the couch. “Thank you for having me! I’ll see you all soon!” He said putting on his shoes and running out the door of the apartment after hugging both Akaashi and Kenma.
“You just wanted him out of the apartment,” Kenma said, giving Akaashi the side-eye.
“So what if I did? Giving him the suggestion was two-fold, he has a way to bring up the subject with those oblivious fools and I get you all to myself.” Akaashi purred into Kenma’s ear sliding behind the gamer and pulling the controller from his hands. He paused the game knowing he would have hell to pay if his Kitten lost any progress. Kenma just scoffed at him but allowed the controller to be pulled from his grip. Kenma turned around straddling Akaashi.
“Well now you have my full attention, what do you want to do?” He whispered back.
“I have so many ideas…” Akaashi said before bringing their lips together and starting the sensual dance that was so familiar to the two of them after almost a year of dating.
Kenma pulled back for a minute, “How do you think that conversation will go?” He asked his favorite setter.
“For his sake, I hope it goes well, but I almost hope it goes badly for our sake, we could certainly benefit from having that bouncing little crow in the mix” Akaashi told his favorite setter. “Though Hinata, Bokuto-san, and Kurro together could be a recipe for disaster, I suggest we focus on other things.” He said to Kenma kissing him once again and taking their minds to far more pleasant locals.
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Summary:
Hinata isn't the only person who knows about Kenma and the others.
Chapter Text
Hinata did not actually get the chance to talk to his year mates the same day that Akaashi had told him his brilliant idea. His train from Tokyo to Miyagi took far longer than he thought and his mother asked him to start on chores that he had neglected before going to visit his friends in Tokyo.
“Are you ok oniisan?” Natsu asked him as she stepped into her older brother’s room.
Hinata turned around from his bed where he was placing his folded laundry. “I’m fine Natsu, why do you ask?”
“I don’t know, you just seem anxious right now,” She told him, stepping further in and grabbing an unfolded shirt from the laundry basket. “You’ve been jumpy ever since you accepted the offer to go to Brazil.”
Hinata paused in his folding, thinking back the last month or so since he told coach Washijo that he would move across the world to pursue the thing he had dreamed of since he was 11. “I guess I’m nervous, it’s a big chance I’m taking on something that might never work out.” He told his little sister.
“You’ve never been one to dwell on the consequences of your actions,” Natsu said wryly. “Remember when you snuck into that training camp your first year?” She teased him.
“Ugh don’t remind me,” Hinata said burying his face in a stray pant leg. When he looked back down at her she saw something besides nerves. Her brother was scared of something.
“Why are you afraid?” She asked him bluntly. Neither Hinata sibling was known for their tact.
“It’s complicated Natsu, but I have something really important to tell some important people and I am scared of how they’ll react.” He told her honestly. Neither Hinata sibling was much of a liar either.
“Is it Kageyama, Tsukishima and Yamaguci?” Natsu asked him. She would never admit it but she had definitely
eavesdropped
overheard some of his conversations with Kenma.
“Yeah,” He said quietly.
“They’re your friends, I’m sure it’ll be fine.” She told him, on impulse she gave him a quick hug and headed out of his room. Natsu sensed he needed some time to think.
“I hope you’re right Natsu, otherwise I may just ruin the best friendships I’ve ever had.” He said to himself.
The Shrimp had been acting pretty strange for the last month and Tsukishima could not figure out why. He hoped to any god that existed that Hinata hadn’t caught on to his little crush. It was truly ridiculous that he had gone and fallen for that idiotic personification of the sun but honestly how could he resist. Hinata pushed him to be better and while he was part of the reason Kei had almost quit volleyball, he was the main reason Kei hadn’t actually done so.
Something was up though. Every time Kei or Tadashi or Tobio brought up anything after graduation Shoyo tensed up. It reminded him a little bit of Shoyo’s behavior right before the training camp he attended in his first year at Shiratorizawa. The Shrimp had this almost guilty look in his eyes and it made Kei wonder if he was planning to try and sneak his way onto a professional team. He chuckled to himself at that thought. He was cut off from his musing when he received a text message from an unexpected source.

Wait, you're all dating?
Annoying Owl
YEAH!!!
Since almost a year ago!!
By the way, I'll be there for our one-year anniversary!!!!
Tsukishima had to put his phone down at this revelation. He had no idea that Kuroo, Bokuto, Akaashi and Kenma were together. In hindsight it did make sense, the tension in gym 3 his first year training camp at Shinzen could only be cut with a knife made of a shrimpy crow and a half-giant Russian. But still, 4 men together was mind-boggling.
“Tsukki!!” Yamaguci shouted from down the road pulling Tsukishima out of his head. He realized he had already walked halfway to school. “I called your name a couple of times but you were completely lost there,” Tadashi told him as he caught up to his best friend.
“Yeah, I just found out something kind of crazy,” He said
“What was it? Is everything ok?” Tadashi immediately went into what Tsukishima deemed his Mother Hen mode which was activated whenever Tadashi was worried about someone close to him. Kageyama and Hinata triggered this mode all the time. Kei pondered telling his best friend what he had just learned about their Tokyo rivals.
“I’M GONNA BEAT YOU!!!!” Was shouted from behind Tsukishima and Yamaguci as they were about to enter Karasuno. Both quickly jumped out of the way, having learned the hard way that staying in the center of the path only led to them being mowed down by their insanely competitive year mates. They stood and watched as the King and the Shrimp raced each other around the corner attempting to beat the other to the still locked club room.
Tsukishima and Yamaguci had started getting to volleyball much earlier to try to be the voices of reason whenever Kageyama and Hinata inevitably got into a fight. The four often spent an extra hour or so together beyond what their usual practices required. As a result, the four had grown much closer over the past few months and they all somehow knew their time together was coming to an end.
Tsukishima and Yamaguci walked in companionable silence to the club room where Hinata and Kagayema were sitting waiting for them.
“You two are so slow!” Hinata whined to Yamaguci.
“Oh shut it Shrimpy,” Tsukishima teased the orange-haired energy ball, “You’re lucky we even show up this early, there’s no way Takeda would let you guys ever be in charge of the keys to the club room and the gym. So say thank you to Yamaguci for being such a good captain”
Yamaguci blushed at Tsuki’s compliment and continued to glow red as Hinata and Kageyama both stood up and bowed to him saying “Thank you Captain!”
“Stop it guys! I’m happy to get here a little early, I like that we get the place to ourselves for a little bit. I almost feel like we’re the end of an era and these mornings are our last.” Yamaguci confessed to the other three as they all began to change into their warm-up gear.
“Don’t talk like that, our kohai are talented and they’re going to be fine next year,” Hinata said, that weird glimmer in his eye was back, Kei noted. He also noticed that Hinata was fidgeting a lot more than usual.
“You’re right, they’re a strong bunch, almost reminds me of us in our first year. I guess I’m just being nostalgic is all, especially with Nationals right around the corner.” Yamaguci said.
As they all started to make their way to the gym Yamaguci piped up again, “Tsuki you never told me what had you out of it this morning.”
Tsukishima blushed a bit remembering what he had discovered and wondered if it was even ok to share with the others. But, he wanted to know their reactions, after all, if those 2 idiots can somehow make a relationship with 4 people work, maybe there’s hope for me and these three. “I just didn’t realize that Kuroo, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Kenma were all together.” He told Yamaguci as nonchalantly as he could.
Kageyama froze when he heard this. “What? As in, are the 4 of them are dating each other? Is that even allowed?”
Tsukishima had been observing all three of his companions as he dropped this bomb on them and the reactions varied from Kageyama’s obvious shock to Yamaguci’s thoughtful expression. What surprised him the most was the fact that Hinata didn’t seem surprised at all, in fact, he seemed to be scrutinizing everyone else just as much as Kei had been.
“Yeah, it’s called a polyamorous relationship,” Hinata answered Kageyama. “All of them are dating each other and have been since Kenma and Akaashi started going to school with Kuroo.”
“Wait you knew?” Yamaguci asked Hinata
“Yeah, Akaashi, Kuroo, and Kenma all have an apartment together in Tokyo. They told me when I started visiting Kenma.” Hinata said nonchalantly, but his tone did not match his gaze, he was still observing the other three very closely.
“I just found out this morning when Kuroo texted me to complain about you,” Tsukishima said, carefully watching Hinata even more closely than he had before.
“Yeah, that’s probably because Kenma offered me a place in their relationship before I left Tokyo on Saturday,” Hinata said, looking down at his shoes.
“He what?!!!” Shouted Kageyama.
“I think he was joking, and besides as awesome as they all are, I don’t think I’d fit as well as Kenma thinks,” Hinata said quietly.
“What do you mean?” Yamaguci asked him.
“Each of them in that relationship fills a void or offers a strength to one of the others. Like Akaashi is really good at cheering up Bokuto, and Kuroo takes really good care of Kenma when he’s gaming. Or Bokuto can cheer Kuroo up when he’s sad about an exam. Or Kenma calm Akaashi down when everything isn’t perfect.” Hinata explained without taking a breath. “It’s really beautiful when you see them all together, and I just don’t think I can do for them what they already do for each other” He finished a little sadly.
Yamaguci put his arm around Hinata, “It does sound pretty nice, 3 other people doting on you and taking care of you.”
Kageyama was nodding his head in agreement with what Yamaguci had just said. “It seems nice to have more than one person, after all a volleyball team needs at least 6 players.” He added in what he believed to be a sage manner.
The other three started snickering at Kageyama’s ability to somehow bring everything back to volleyball.
“Well, only for indoor volleyball, in beach volleyball you can have two players.” Hinata told the others.
“True but let the King have his moment,” Tsukishima said, still snickering.
The four continued to set up the gym for morning practice and continued to discuss the relationship of their Tokyo friends. Tsukishima was surprised at how much knowledge Hinata seemed to have on polyamorous relationships overall as well as the specifics of the Cat’s and Owl’s relationship. They continued to warm up in peace until coach Ukai and Takeda sensei entered the gym together. There was a running bet among the current third years and their older, former teammates about whether or not Ukai and Takeda were actually dating or somehow happened to show up at the same time every day.
“Hinata!” Takeda summoned the ginger over. “I have a book for you on common Portuguese phrases, I know you don’t love studying but this will help you when you go to Brazil.” Normally this conversation would be fine as Takeda would be drowned out by the din of players shouting and balls being served, however, this particular morning Takeda and Ukai also arrived extremely early to practice and the only ones in the gym were the third years and the coaches.
It was dead silent in the gym after that but it did not take long for a rather unexpected individual to shout, “You’re going to Brazil?”

Chapter Text
“Hinata, explain,” Coach Ukai said very angrily as he stomped towards the short crow.
“I -uh, um well..” Hinata stammered as his coach started coming towards him. He went to hide behind Takeda.
“Keishin!” Takeda shouted, “Stop scaring him.” He said putting his arms out in an effort to ward off the angry coach.
“I just didn’t want to distract anyone from Nationals!” Hinata cried from behind Takeda.
“You’re leaving Japan?” Yamaguci said quietly, stepping towards Hinata and Takeda. Hinata saw that he looked almost betrayed.
Takeda took a step away from Hinata as he saw the looks of the other three third years in the gym. He had noticed how close his now oldest players were growing and he realized that this was something that needed to be discussed among the four of them without any adults present. He quietly took Keishin’s hand and pulled him from the gym while the other three volleyball players gathered around Hinata. “I’ll explain, just come with me.” He told the blonde as they walked towards the teacher’s lounge.
“Ittetsu,” Keishen said quietly as he settled on the couch in the lounge and was handed a cup of coffee by the advisor. “Why is Hinata going to Brazil? How did this even happen?” Takeda took a seat next to him and began to explain the events that had unfolded a month prior.
“You and I both know that despite his immense talent, Hinata isn’t getting scouted by any division 1 teams right now. He could easily make a division 2 team, but even then he works best with crazy setters like Kageyama and even Kozume from Nekoma.” Takeda began.
“Yeah, but why Brazil?” Ukai interrupted.
“You know as well as I do that Hinata kept going to your grandfather to practice and get better. Apparently, one day while he was practicing, Coach Washijo from Shiratorizawa was coming to scout some younger players your grandfather has been mentoring.” Takeda continued as Ukai sipped at his coffee. “He overheard Hinata complaining about how he would never get any better if people always considered him a part of a set with Kageyama or with Karasuno.”
“I didn’t even know he felt like that,” Ukai said quietly. He thought he understood his players, especially the third years whom he had known the longest and who were part of the reason he was even coaching Karasuno in the first place.
“You know Hinata, he would never complain to us about something of that nature. He wouldn’t want to ruin team chemistry and he told me he honestly feels like it’s his fault people think of him that way as he’s done little to change that mindset.” Takeda consoled coach Ukai. He too felt guilty that he didn’t realize how Hinata felt. Afterall he had always lumped Hinata with Kageyama. “Coach Washijo apparently asked him what he would do to get better, to stand on his own and Hinata told him anything. And well, you know how intense Hinata can get about volleyball. I guess Washijo saw it. He made a few calls and within a couple of days he secured Hinata access to a coach and an apartment in Brazil right after graduation. Hinata came to me the same day and explained all that had happened and how he wanted to go to Brazil to play.”
Ukai chuckled, “Once the brat sets his mind to something, nothing will change it.”
Takeda smiled “You’re right about that. I’ve been helping him to get his affairs in order. Things like his passport, plans for how to pay for his apartment, and obviously, the language barrier will not be at all helpful to him.” Takeda couldn’t help but smile knowing that when Hinata did come back to Japan he would be very different from the young man he met three years ago.
“So he just goes to Brazil and gets magically good at volleyball under this other coach?” Ukai asked skeptically.
Takeda laid his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder, “It’s Hinata, he’ll get good by practicing hard just as he always has.
“I hope you’re right, for the sake of those other boys who are going to severely miss their friend.” Ukai laid his head on Takeda’s and put an arm around him. He too had noticed how close the third years were and he hoped that this wouldn’t put a strain on their relationship.
“Boke, why didn’t you tell us?” Kageyama asked much quieter than Hinata had thought he would. Hinata looked up from his shoes to see his best friends all standing around him with varying looks of betrayal and sadness in their eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Kageyama asked him, even quieter than before.
“And don’t say it’s because of Nationals,” Tsukishima said venomously.
“Tsukki,” Admonished Yamaguci.
“No Tadashi, I want to know why he wouldn’t tell us, this is huge! How long will you even be there for?” Tsukki continued getting louder with every word.
Hinata scrunched down lower with every word being said to him. ‘This is why I didn’t tell you all', he thought to himself. Out loud he quietly said “2 years” answering Tsukishima’s question. He didn’t even realize tears were starting to leak from his eyes.
“2 YEARS?” Tsukishima shouted, not noticing the state Hinata was in until Yamaguci physically hit him.
“Shut up Tsukki! This is probably why he didn’t tell us, I’m almost surprised that you’re the one acting like an asshole about this and not Kageyama.” Yamaguci scolded his childhood friend. While he and Tsuki continued to argue about who was being more childish they didn’t realize Hinata’s tears were turning into quiet sobs.
Kageyama pulled the normally happy little crow into his arms and murmured words of reassurance that no they did not hate him. When Tsukishima and Yamaguci stopped arguing they realized what was going on between the setter and the decoy and apologized to Hinata.
“It’s ok,” Hinata said quietly as he pulled away from Kageyama and wiped some of his tears away. “This wasn’t exactly how I wanted to tell you. I was going to say something after Nationals.”
“But why are you going to Brazil?” Yamaguci asked him.
“I can’t stand on my own here,” Hinata said simply. “I am so happy that I got to play with you guys for the last three years, but I can’t play with you all forever, especially if I want to get better and make good on my promise.” He finished, smiling sadly at Kageyama.
“What promise?” Yamaguci asked again.
“He promised that we would make it to the top and that he would beat me.” Kageyama said, smiling down at his best friend. He understood Hinata’s reasoning better than anyone else ever could, and while he was upset about what was happening he couldn’t be mad that Hinata was doing everything in his power to make good on his promise.
Tsukishima scoffed, “So what, you’re going to Brazil to play volleyball, can’t you do that here?” Tsukishima asked almost desperately, he wasn’t actually angry at Hinata, he was angry at the situation overall. Talking this morning about Kenma, Bokuto, Akaashi, and Kuroo’s relationship he had a brief thought that maybe he, Hinata, Kageyama, and Yamaguci could be the same. At least he thought that until the bomb was dropped that Hinata was willingly leaving them for the other side of the world.
“I can’t play here because no one takes me seriously without Kageyama,” Hinata told him. “Everyone lumps me in with him and I am lucky that I got to play with a genius like him but I want to be more than just 'Tobio’s pet crow' or 'Karasuno’s decoy'.” He said bitterly. “I hear what the other teams say about me, none of them think I am worth anything without the rest of you. In Brazil, no one will know who I am and they won’t expect anything of me.” He finished off.
Tsukishima was at a loss for words after Hinata went off. He had also heard the other teams they beat insulting Hinata, and calling him names to make themselves feel better for losing to the amazing orange-haired kid, but Hinata always smiled and thanked them for the match. He didn’t realize how much those words affected the crow.
“I’m going to be in Brazil for two years, I’ll be playing a mix of beach and indoor to get better as quickly as possible so that I can come back here.” ‘To you three’ he added in his head.
“I’m sorry,” Tsukishima said after a minute of silence, “I just can’t believe you’re leaving, I always thought that you would just stay here in Japan and practice and try out for v-league teams.” He finished almost embarrassed that he assumed the Shrimp would do exactly what he expected of him.
“So did I, until coach Washijo gave me this option,” Hinata said with a small wry smile.
“We’re going to miss you!” Yamaguci exclaimed, hugging him tightly.
“‘I’m going to miss you all too!” Hinata shouted, hugging him back. Hinata hadn’t expected to have to tell the people he loved that he was leaving soon nor did he expect them to react the way that they did. But it felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. More weight seemed to disappear, metaphorically of course, as he was engulfed by Tsukishima and Kageyama as all four third years clung to one another.
‘I love you all so much,'' he thought to himself as he continued to hug the three most important people in his life.

Chapter Text
Time had been flying faster than Hinata had anticipated. They were competing in their final National tournament in just a few short weeks and while Hinata was excited, he knew that this would be his final time competing in Japan for a long while. He was also scared because he still hadn’t said anything to his 3 crushes. But as the days passed he became more and more hopeful that the four of them would all end up together.
Yamaguci and he had been close since their first year. They both worked hard to improve their skills and prove to their Senpai and friends that every second they were on the court was well deserved. And of course, Yamaguci had been a godsend when Hinata needed help studying. Hinata had noticed that Yamaguci was more touchy ever since he told them he was leaving for Brazil. Whether it was an arm thrown around his shoulder during water breaks or spontaneous hugs before they parted ways after club practice, the two had been growing closer physically. They also talked a lot more during lunchtime. Hinata was always asking questions about Yamaguci’s plans for after high school, and Yamaguci did the same, often pointing out things Hinata needed to consider before moving to an entirely new country.
Tsukishima was a bit harder to read, Hinata didn’t doubt that the Salt Shaker had feelings for him but he was hiding his reactions far better than he had before Hinata’s Brazil confession. However, every once in a while Hinata would spot Tsukishima looking at him with a hint of longing in his eyes. Hinata was still a little shocked that Tsukishima had been the one to bring up BokoAkaKuroKen’s relationship to the other three. Hinata was also quite proud of his made-up ship name for the four as saying their names took a long time. He had been pretty surprised at how calmly everyone seemed to take the news and how curious the other three were. Tsukishima actually asked him questions about the four’s relationship a lot, though he explained that he refused to ask Kuroo or Bokuto because the two would just annoy him.
Kageyama wasn’t acting any differently than he had before, but Hinata had expected this. Volleyball was one of the most important things to Tobio and he respected Hinata’s decision to take a chance to get better. Plus Hinata had his suspicions that Kageyama didn’t necessarily know how to show affection in a romantic way since he spent all of his time on volleyball.
Shaking his head of his musings Hinata continued up the road to Kageyama’s house where they were celebrating the setter’s birthday. Because National’s was so close they agreed that a simple sleepover was for the best. Well, Hinata thought to himself, it wouldn’t be that simple considering Tobio would finally be 18. He double-checked his bag to make sure the sake was still wrapped up in his pajamas. As the oldest of the third years, he believed it was his duty to make sure his younger teammates all experienced the joys and woes of alcohol for the first time together.
Hinata simply walked right inside once he came up to Kageyama’s house as the setter had texted that the door was unlocked and that the last one in needed to lock up after. Looking around Hinata saw he was the last one to arrive based on the number of shoes and locked the door behind him. Perfect, he thought, let’s get this party started.
“What’s up, party people!” He shouted coming into the living room.
“You are so fucking loud!” Kageyama shouted back, “I have neighbors so let's keep it down, my parents aren’t home and I do not want to have to deal with the cops.”
“No parents,” mused Hinata, “Then I guess we can really get this party started!” And pulled out the bottle of sake he brought.
“Great minds think alike Shrimp,” Tsukishima said, pulling another bottle of sake out from his bag.
“What the hell guys?” Yamaguci asked, “Why did you both bring alcohol?”
“The King is 18, it's time he tried booze,” Tsukishima said with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Exactly, and since we’re staying in the whole night with no parents, this is the perfect place to get him drunk,” Hinata finished.
“I’ve had alcohol before,” Kageyama muttered.
“Really King, because a glass of wine that your parents gave you doesn’t count,” Tsukishima teased the setter.
“Just let’s be responsible,” Yamaguci said, knowing that if both Kei and Shoyo wanted to drink there was absolutely no stopping them.
“I’m surprised you brought alcohol Hinata,” Tsukishima said, impressed by the bottle of sake the little crow had brought with him.
“Ehh, sometimes when I hang out with Kenma we’ll play drinking games,” He said shrugging his shoulders like it was no big deal, “And, Kageyama, that’s actually a gift from BokoAkaKuroKen.” He added.
“BokoAka who?” Kageyama said looking incredibly confused.
“BokoAkaKuroKen, Bokuto, Akaashi, Kuroo and Kenma. It takes forever to say all of their names so I gave them a ship name, you know from, like in manga where you combine the names of love interests?” Hinata said it like it was obvious.
“How much thought did you put into that name?” Yamaguci asked.
“Better yet have you ever told those four that that is how you refer to them?” Tsukishima asked.
“Not that much Yama, and not really because I rarely refer to the four of them except with you guys,” Hinata said.
“Just never tell them that please,” Tsukishima begged.
“Ok, if we’re drinking we need some food,” Hinata said, taking charge of the situation, much to the surprise of the other three. They’ll learn that I actually know what I’m doing for once, Hinata thought to himself.
“I already ordered some pizza for us,” Kageyama said. “It should be here soon.”
“And I baked a cake so we’ll have that as well,” Yamaguci told the other three.
“Let’s grab some water as well because the more you drink now the less it will hurt tomorrow,” Hinata said after being informed of the food situation.
“How much do you think we’re drinking?” Yamaguci asked, paling at the thought of getting trashed and accidentally saying something he shouldn’t.
“There are two full bottles of sake that technically we shouldn’t have,” Tsukishima said, smirking a little. “So definitely two bottles, and we might be able to convince Suga to bring us more if we need some,” He added as an afterthought. Their old vice-captain loved a bit of chaos and could always be counted on to help them all out.
“We’ll stick with the two, for now, I expect us to have another sleepover when I get back and I plan to get hammered when we do so I can’t have any of you regretting tonight,” Hinata said with a smile.
“Alright fine,” Kageyama said, and he stood up to go grab water for everyone. Yamaguci went to help him.
“What should we playTsuki?” Hinata asked, noticing that the blonde didn’t correct him about the nickname.
“Probably something simple for you and the king,” Tsukishima teased Hinata, secretly loving being called Tsuki by his crush.
“Then how about the tried and true never have I ever?” Hinata asked, thinking about the information he could gather from his teammates.
“That should work.” Tsukishima agreed, having the same idea that he could find out where some of his teammates stood in terms of relationships.
Kageyama and Yamaguci walked back into the room with several glasses of water and a larger pitcher as well.
“Good idea, that way we don’t always have to get up to get more water!” Hinata shouted.
“It was Yamaguci’s idea,” Kageyama said, blushing at Hinata’s enthusiasm and still reeling from Yamaguci brushing against him in the kitchen.
“We’re going to start off simple with a game of Never have I ever,” Hinata started but was quickly interrupted by the doorbell.
“Pizza’s here,” Kageyama muttered and went to get it from the delivery guy.
While they all waited for him, Hinata also pulled out some shot glasses he brought along with the Sake and put them next to each person’s water cup. Kageyama re-entered the living room and placed the pizza in the middle of the coffee table. Everyone grabbed a paper plate that the pizza place had sent along with the order and started eating. In between bites, Hinata continued to explain the game.
“Basically you say something that you have never done and if anyone has done that thing, they take a shot. Very simple.” Hinata said, while still chewing his pizza.
“Gross,” Tsukki scoffed at the smallest crow, “Close your mouth while you’re chewing. Also if you have done whatever it is you have to explain, if you don’t want to explain you have to take another shot.” Tsukishima added onto the very minimal rule list.
“How do you win?” Kageyama asked seriously.
“I don’t think you win at this game,” Yamaguci said, looking resigned to his fate.
“Yamaguci’s right, it’s not really a game you win, it’s a game where you do your best not to lose,” Hinata said.
“Don’t worry Yamaguci, I have a feeling that you will be fine, and King you win if you don’t throw up,” Tsukishima told the two. “Who’s up first?”
“Ooh! I’ll go!” Hinata shouted, jumping up excited to get his plan started. “Umm, never have I ever kissed a girl.” He said smiling.
“I don’t believe that!” Kageyama shouted, “Who was that girl that was always hanging off of you last year, she was constantly trying to interrupt our lunch practices!” Kageyama always complained that she took Hinata’s attention away from volleyball, but the real reason he was upset was that she took Hinata’s attention away from him. He didn’t like to share Hinata with anyone other than his teammates.
“Oh yeah, I forgot about her, she was persistent, but she did finally leave me alone once she confessed and I told her I was pansexual,” Hinata said nonchalantly.
“Huh,” was all Kageyama could say in response.
“Ahh, ahh ahh, Yamaguci, talk” Tsukishima said. Tadashi had taken a shot while Hinata had explained and he was hoping to get away with it quietly, but Tsukishima had been paying close attention, noting everyone’s surprise that Hinata hadn’t actually kissed a girl, and Yamaguci’s secret shot.
“Fine, I kissed Yachi because she asked me to in our first year,” Yamaguci said. “Don’t say anything please!” He begged the other three.
“I thought Yachi was gay?” Hinata asked curiously.
“She is, she was just experimenting, but Kiyoko was the final metaphorical nail in the coffin of her heterosexuality,” Yamaguci answered.
“Oh cool!” Hinata said, “Alright I think Tsukishima should go next.” Hinata was observant enough to see that Tsuki was watching everyone’s reactions and he was curious to see what Tsukki’s plan was.
“Fine, never have I ever identified as pansexual,” Tsukishima said, smirking.
“Fuck you Saltyshima!” Hinata said taking his shot with far more experience than Tsukishima was expecting. “That’s targeting and you can do that to get people drunk but this is supposed to be bonding time, tell each other all our deepest darkest secrets and all that,” Hinata said pouting that he already had to take a drink. He knew that he would probably be the one to lose the game tonight, the others had no idea what their little sunshine teammate had gotten up to.
“Sorry Shrimp, but that’s the way the game is played,” Tsukishima said, smiling. “Yamaguci, why don’t you go next.”
“Ok, never have I ever kissed more than 2 people,” Yamaguci admitted.
“Fucking hell,” Hinata hissed taking his second shot for the night. He was surprised when he saw Tsukishima and Kageyama take a shot as well.
“I kissed Oikawa and Iwaizumi back in middle school,” Kageyama muttered, turning bright red at admitting he had kissed his biggest enemy, and his first-ever crush.
“You kissed the grand King?” Hinata asked in awe.
“We were having a team sleepover and we played spin the bottle,” Kageyama explained, still looking down in embarrassment. The others decided not to pry further, they knew Kageyama was still hurting from his middle school team’s rejection.
“Tsuki?” Hinata prompted, deciding to use the salt shaker’s nickname to see if he could get away with it. Yamaguci was surprised when Hinata used his nickname for his childhood best friend and was not reprimanded for it. In fact, Tsuki looked almost lovingly at Hinata when he called him that, well, as lovingly as Tsukishima could look at someone. He is a very reserved person who does not like it when others can tell what his emotions are.
“Fine, back in the training camps our first-year Kuroo laid one me over the summer, and when I was at the Shiratorizawa camp we also coincidentally played spin the bottle in the dorms and I had to kiss Koganegawa and Goshiki,” Tsukishima said. He sounded incredibly exasperated by the whole thing.
“Wahhh!” Hinata exclaimed, “I can’t believe that actually I can’t believe Kogane never told me!” He shouted upset that his friend didn’t tell him.
“It was a dumb game and he probably didn’t say anything because Goshiki had murder in his eyes after he kissed me,” Tsukishima explained to his overexcited teammate.
“Oh yeah, those two have been dancing around each other since that camp. Whenever they play I swear you can cut the sexual tension with a knife. The ace and the iron wall, I wonder if they ever get together they’ll decide who tops by who breaks who first?” Hinata mused out loud much to the surprise of his teammates. Despite being the oldest, everyone had always thought of Hinata as the youngest, not just because of his size, but also because of his generally positive demeanor. But tonight his friends were seeing a whole new side to him.
“That is an interesting thought Shrimpy, but I guess it’s your turn now to explain, who have you kissed?” Tsukishima asked, breaking Hinata out of his musings.
“It’s probably easier to ask who haven’t I kissed?” Hinata said while laughing. “I swear I’ve kissed someone from every team at this point. Though now that I think about it, I haven’t kissed anyone from Karasuno.” He continued on.
“Names Shoyo,” Tsukishima practically growled at him. Kei was not happy to hear that so many other people had kissed his crush, though he couldn’t blame them. Hinata was sunshine personified, he brightened every room and made everyone better just by being around.
‘That was kind of hot’ Hinata thought to himself when Tsuki demanded his kiss list from him. “Well to cover the two names I’ve kissed Kenma, Akaashi, Bokuto, Kuroo, Lev..”
“Ok we don’t need to hear anymore,” Yamaguci stated, putting a hand over Hinata’s mouth to stop him from continuing his list. He wasn’t too happy either that Hinata had kissed so many people. He soon realized how close he was to Hinata and he pulled back immediately, blushing.
“Wait, you've kissed everyone in BokuAkaKuroKen?” Tsukishima asked, immediately curious when Hinata brought them up first, and remembering their first conversation about the four’s relationship where Hinata mentioned he had been invited to join them.
“Umm, since I answered the question I am done,” Hinata said, taking a sip of water and another bite of pizza. He wasn’t quite ready to reveal all he had done with his Tokyo friends yet. He wanted to be absolutely certain before he said anything else.
“Fine,” Tsukishima huffed out. “Hey, King it’s your turn.” He said turning to the birthday boy, and then he was struck by genius. Before Tobio could say anything, Kei pulled him close and whispered a question in his ear. Tobio looked at him with a blush but nodded his head.
“Hey what are you telling him to say?” Hinata asked, immediately concerned.
Kageyama took a deep breath and said, “Never have I ever had sex with more than one person at a time.”
Everyone froze and looked around the room. Kageyama looked uncomfortable with what he just said. Hinata glared at both Tsukishima and Kageyama. Yamaguci looked very concerned and Tsukishima watched Hinata very closely. After a few seconds, Hinata grabbed his shot glass and downed a shot, all while keeping eye contact with Tsukishima.

Chapter Text
“Rules of the game state you have to explain, so talk,” Tsukishima said with a glint in his eyes. Hinata couldn’t quite tell if it was anger or desire that was making Tsuki’s voice so gravelly. He didn’t mind though, because it was really fucking hot being looked at that way. Oh, Hinata could just imagine what a look like that could lead to.
“Hinata?” Yamaguci asked hesitantly. He too was curious about Hinata’s story, but almost didn't want to interrupt the orange-haired boys' thoughts. Hinata almost never looked like that and it seemed a crime to Yamaguci that this look was such a rare occurrence.
Hinata hummed, shaking his head of his horny thoughts. “The rules also state I can take a shot to get out of explaining Kei,” Hinata said quite saucily and made to grab the sake to pour another shot for himself when he was stopped by Kageyama.
“I think we need to make an exception to the rule this time.” The blue eyed setter said in a tone very similar to Tsukishima’s, holding eye contact with Hinata.
“You all are no fun to tease and far too impatient. It needs to be later and we need to be drunker for me to tell you about my sexcapades.” Hinata said, not breaking eye contact with Kageyama.
“I won’t ask again Shoyo, talk,” Tsukishima’s voice was far closer than Hinata thought it would be. He was pulled out of his staring contest with Kageyama as Tsukishima took his chin and tilted it toward his own face. The look he had in his eyes was somehow more intense and Hinata couldn’t help but obey the command from his teammate.
“Fine,” he said, pulling his chin from Tsukishima’s grip. “I had sex with Kenma and Bokuto.” He said simply.
“Elaborate,” Tsukishima said in that same demanding tone.
“One time while visiting Kenma in Tokyo we were playing drinking games, specifically truth or dare. Akaashi had gone to visit his family and Kuroo was pulling an all-nighter to study for an exam, so it was just Kenma, Bokuto, and me. Kenma dared me to kiss Bokuto and it was hot. When it was Bokuto’s turn Kenma made him tell the truth about the dare, and Bokuto admitted that all four of them liked me and were thinking about asking me to join them.” Hinata paused, taking in the others' faces. It seemed like all of them were a mixture of jealousy, a little bit of anger on Tsuki’s and Tobio’s faces and embarrassment on Yamaguci’s. “They admitted they didn’t want to overwhelm me so they planned for the two I was most comfortable with to try me out, honestly it felt like I was trying out for a different volleyball team. But as fun as it was, I told you all before I don’t fit with them.” He said shrugging his shoulders and sitting back against the couch since all four of them were on the floor around the coffee table.
“Was it good?” Yamaguci asked. Hinata was honestly surprised that the question had come from Tadashi. He always seemed the most uncomfortable about sexual intimacy to Hinata.
‘I’ve already admitted what I thought I would share much later tonight, may as well go into more detail, especially since all three of them seem curious’ Hinata thought to himself. “It was really good, honestly some of the best sex I’ve had.”
“You’ve had sex besides then?” Kageyama asked incredulously. He had always assumed Hinata was like him, volleyball all the time, no sex unless it was yourself late at night when you shouldn’t be playing.
“One does not start out with a threesome Tobio," Hinata said sagely. "But only a few times, that was definitely the best though,” Hinata said thinking back to some of his fairly limited sexual encounters.
“Who else?” Tsukishima almost dared him to answer.
Hinata realized then that he and Tsukishima were attempting to accomplish the same things. They both wanted to make the others more comfortable with sex and especially sex with more than one person. Shoyo grinned at Kei and decided he would share until he was asked to stop. “Kenma was my first, around training camp our second year. That’s how he was sure I wouldn’t run screaming when he suggested the threesome with Bokuto. Aone after the Nationals Qualifier last year, and Miya Atsumu at the Interhigh at the beginning of last year. But like I said the threesome with Bokuto and Kenma was the best.”
“You had sex with that idiot setter?” Kageyama said, getting angry, finally understanding all the jabs Miya had made at him at the All Japan Youth Camp last year.
“How did it work?” Yamaguci asked quietly. He too was beginning to realize where this was going. All the questions Kei had been asking about the Tokyo four’s relationship. The prompting of sexual histories to gauge interest and comfort with the idea. And, while he wasn’t quite sure how the logistics would work for them being in three separate places soon he wanted to see if this could work. These three had been with him for the last three years, through victories and defeats, hard times, and good ones, there was no one else he’d rather go through life with.
“Well,” Hinata paused to gather his thoughts, ‘Am I really about to tell them all my dirty secrets?’ He knew he could trust these three with anything, but that didn’t make it any easier. “We did a few things that night, but I bottomed the entire time. We switched positions a few times but I was the center of it all and it was pretty amazing. Having more than one person to share with was a little weird but so much more intense.” Hinata said, hoping that would answer the question without having to go into much further detail about all that took place that night.
“I guess it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who’s had sex with a member of the Tokyo four,” Tsukishima said nonchalantly. He decided to drop this bomb in an effort to lessen the attention he had initially drawn to Hinata. He could tell the little crow was getting uncomfortable, they were all pretty sober, so there was no way anyone would be forgetting what was said at this point in the night.
“Am I the only one who hasn’t had sex before?” Kageyama asked, shocked that someone besides himself wanted to sleep with the dinosaur nerd.
Everyone turned to look at Yamaguci who had gone very quiet and bright red. Kei raised his eyebrows, not even needing to say a word to get what he wanted. “Terushima,” Yamaguci said quietly.
“Goddamnit! I can’t believe I am the only virgin here!” Tobio shouted out loud.
“Don’t you have neighbors?” Hinata teased him, taking the attention away from Tadashi.
“Want to change that, your highness?” Tsukishima asked right after.
Tobio blushed and muttered, “Shut up,’” to both of them.
“Terushima?” Hinata asked, waggling his eyebrows. “Was he any good?” Before Yamaguci could even answer Hinata mused, “I bet he was, with that tongue piercing, it must have felt fantastic.” Hinata turned to look at Yamaguci waiting for a confirmation.
“It was ok I guess?” Yamaguci said, unsure how to answer.
“Did he make you cum? And did you enjoy it?” Tsukishima asked him plainly.
Feeling emboldened by the fact that no one was judging him, and all he saw was genuine curiosity Yamaguci explained. “He made me cum, but it was his first time too, so we both felt pretty awkward.” He grabbed a pillow from the couch to hide his face. Picking his head up, “And that’s all I want to say!” He shouted, putting his head back in the pillow.
“It was his first time too, eek, that must have been interesting.” Kei mused, “I guess it’s my turn to share since both of you were willing.” He grabbed the sake from the table and took a swig straight from the bottle. “I wasn’t Kuroo’s first, though I never did get the dirty details on who was, he was obviously mine. We hooked up behind the gym and I think you dodged a bullet, Hinata, he’s a pain in the ass, metaphorically and literally.” Kei continued on, taking sips every now and again. Hinata giggled at Kei’s slightly tipsy rambling and carefully pulled the bottle from his hands, only for Kageyama to take the bottle and take a big swig. Kei continued, “He’s pretty demanding and I guess that’s hot if you’re into it but I like to be the one to call the shots, we would have never worked, especially now that I realize he was pining for three other people and not just Bokuto.”
“From what Kenma tells me you’re right about the pain in the ass and the demanding. Kuroo is apparently very much a dom.” Hinata told Kageyama and Yamaguci. He pulled the bottle from Kageyama’s hands and took a swig himself. He was about to put the bottle back on the table when Yamaguci pulled his arm towards him and took a sip with Hinata still holding the bottle. Yamaguci maintained eye contact the entire time he drank. ‘Fuck that was hot’ Hinata thought.
All four of the boys were getting bolder and bolder in their conversation and their touches. After that last 'Never Have I Ever' question they stopped taking shots and started pulling straight from the bottle. All secretly loving the idea that they were sharing indirect kisses. They finished the first bottle pretty quickly talking more about Kuroo and Yamaguci’s first time and even asking Hinata some more questions about his threesome with Bokuto and Kenma. When they cracked open the second bottle Kageyama rejoined the conversation, having been quite attentive to what the others were saying.
“Do you think we could have a relationship like them?” He asked the other three seriously.
Tsukishima had been taking a sip when he almost choked at hearing one of them ask the question they had all been thinking all night. The only thing was, Kageyama had been thinking of this question since before they found out about BokoAkaKuroKen. In fact, he had been thinking about a relationship with these three since right before nationals his first year.
Kageyama was a genius only in volleyball, but part of his genius is his ability to read a situation around him to almost perfection. This skill really did only come in handy on the court, but once coach Ukai had planted the seed in his mind to watch out for his teammates, he realized there were three, in particular, he watched more than the others. Of course, he paid the most attention to Hinata, he was Kageyama’s partner, the person who could finally match and probably surpass him on the court. He was more shocked to realize that he paid particular attention to Tsukishima, that kid had been pissing him off since the day they met, but what made him angrier was the idea of anyone but him setting to the salt shaker. Hearing from Hinata that Koganegawa made Tsukishima jump higher and play better made Kageyama realize that it wasn’t just anger he felt, but jealousy and possessiveness, two concepts he had only attributed to Hinata at that point. And Yamaguci had snuck his way into Kageyama’s heart, whether he was helping Kageyama study, or working on their serves together, Yamaguci was always there supporting him.
Kageyama was surprised at their reaction, he wasn’t the best at picking up on other’s feelings so he wasn’t sure they were on the same page as him, but he hoped they were.
“You want us to try a polyamorous relationship like Bokuto, Akaashi, Kurro, and Kenma?” Tsukishima said, trying to wrap his head around the fact that it was not him or Hinata to ask.
“I mean yeah, I really like all three of you, and those four are proof that a relationship like that can work. Unless you guys don’t like me or each other back?” Kageyama was a little scared of this answer, but he hadn’t gotten to where he was by being scared. He made it to Karasuno, almost to the top with these three by his side by being brash and demanding.
“I’ll lay my cards on the table then, I like all three of you and would like to be in a relationship,” Kei said, hiccuping only a little bit from the alcohol. He took another swig from the bottle realizing what he said, he needed a bit more liquid courage.
“I want to too,” Yamaguci said smiling timidly, “But I think we have a lot of things to figure out.”
The three turned to look at Hinata, he was looking down and seemed to be trembling a little bit. Yamaguci thought he was crying and when Hinata finally looked up they realized he had been silently laughing.
“I can’t believe you beat me to it Bakeyama!” Hinata said with a huge grin on his face. “You and Kei both beat me to my plan, I was going to casually introduce the idea of polyamory to you guys with BokoAkaKuroKen and then I was going to ask you all out but you ruined my plan.”
Kei pulled Hinata into his lap, “Well, I think we all got what we wanted in the end," He whispered into the little crow's ear. "Now let's drink to celebrate!”
All four of them continued to pass the remaining bottle of sake around, basking in the glow of their acceptance of each other. They decided not to talk of more serious things, rather focusing on getting to know each other even better than they had before. All four knew when the morning came they would have to get down and dirty to discuss the dynamics of their relationship, but for now they just enjoyed each other’s company.

Chapter Text
Hinata rose with the sun, to no one’s surprise. He never wanted to waste a second of the day when he could be doing something, mainly volleyball, but for the first time in a while he wanted to enjoy the quiet moments of the morning. Somehow he had wound up in the middle of a cuddle pile with his three other year mates. He did not quite remember falling asleep, one second they had been discussing their respective dream vacations and the next he was waking up with Kageyama’s arm slung over his waist, Tsukishima’s very long arm was under Yamaguci’s head and somehow his hand was buried in Shoyo’s hair.
‘That’s when I fell asleep’ he thought to himself. When Tsukishima had started massaging his head almost unconsciously. ‘Looks like Tadashi stole my spot in Tsuki’s lap’ he thought, realizing that his nose was almost buried in Yamaguci’s chest. He sighed quietly to himself, enjoying being able to observe his friends, or boyfriends, he still wasn’t totally sure, relaxing in their sleep. Tsukishima didn’t have that frown and Yamaguci’s normally furrowed brow was smooth.
Hinata knew from past sleepovers that Kageyama wrinkled his nose a little in his sleep and it was just so adorable. He wished he could turn around to see it, but he didn’t want to disturb the delicate balance they had somehow achieved. The four may have grown closer over the past year, but they would always bicker and sometimes fight. Hinata thought it was nice to see everyone so at peace for once.
The next member of their little cuddle pile to wake was Yamaguci. He started to sigh a little and wiggle a bit as he rejoined the world of the waking. When he opened his eyes he saw Kageyama still asleep with his nose all scrunched up. It was honestly pretty adorable to him, he could feel Kei’s arm under his head acting as a pillow, and when he looked down he saw Hinata’s golden eye wide open with a small smile on his face.
“Morning,” Hinata whispered quietly so as not to disturb the others.
“Morning,” Yamaguci said or at least tried to say. Now that he was a bit more coherent he realized he had a small headache and his throat was sore. ‘Oh no! I finally managed to kind of sort of confess to my best friends and now I am sick!’ He immediately worried about getting the others sick, especially before Nationals when Hinata giggled. Because of how close they all were to each other, Yamaguci felt those giggles vibrate through his own chest.
“You’re not sick Dashi, just hungover,” Hinata said very quietly. But not quietly enough apparently.
“Shut up Sho, you’re way too loud,” Kageyama muttered. He wanted to go back to his dreams where he was wrapped up in all the people that he loved and where he did not have a pounding headache. He buried his nose in the back of Hinata’s head, hoping the Tangerine’s scent would help clear away the pain and put him back to sleep. He was pleasantly surprised when he realized that not only was he burying his head in Shoyo’s hair but that a very large hand belonging to one Tsukishima Kei was also there. That hand, which had begun a light massage on Hinata’s hair as its owner woke to the sounds of giggling, was now gently stroking his cheek and soothing him in ways he could barely describe.
“Ugh, I can’t believe we actually finished that bottle,” Kei said, continuing to stroke Kageyama’s cheek like he had always wanted to. He would deny it to this day that he actually enjoyed it, but all four knew how much Tsukishima loved to love on his partners.
Hinata weighed their options, if they went back to sleep everyone would feel better having gotten more rest, but he himself would just lay there and he knew he couldn’t do that. Option two was less fun, but if he got everyone up they could grab some pain killers, water, and food which would all be helpful. Either option was bound to have them irritated with him so he went for the option that had the best chance for food.
“Come on guys, let's get up and get some food, water, and medicine. You’ll all feel better.” He said making to get up from their little group.
“No way,” Kageyama said, pulling him back down.
“Absolutely not,” Tsukishima agreed, helping to contain the little shrimp. “How are you not hungover?” He asked incredulously. Kei knew Hinata had drunk more than he did and he was so much smaller.
“I did my best to drink a ton of water, basically a glass for every shot. Kuroo actually taught me that trick. The more hydrated you are the less your blood can constrict, or was it flow or…” He was cut off by Yamaguci putting a hand on his mouth.
“Please don’t try to explain, it will hurt my head more.” He told Hinata. After remembering that they had shared two bottles of Sake he was less worried about getting the others sick. “But Hinata is right, everyone will feel better once we eat and drink, and I personally would not say no to some aspirin.” He said and using his knowledge of his childhood best friend he tickled Tsukishima’s sides in order to get him to release the other three. Hinata immediately took the chance to escape and bounced up and across the room so as not to be captured as easily.
Kageyama snickered at the fact that Tsukishima was ticklish and got up as well. Tsuki just glared at Yamaguci for revealing one of his very few weaknesses to the two idiots. Yamaguci just smiled. After being friends with Tsukishima for years, he was an expert in getting what he wanted from the dinosaur nerd. “Breakfast and medicine Tsuki, I barely feel human right now,” Yamaguci demanded.
“Fine, but I do not trust those two in the kitchen.” He muttered and went to grab the aspirin he had wisely packed the night before. Much to Yamaguci’s surprise, Hinata was cracking eggs into a pan like a pro. He had already told Kageyama to get the rice started. “Do you need any help?” Yamaguci asked, still in shock over the scene he was witnessing.
“Have I stepped into an alternate universe?” Tsukishima asked, coming up directly behind Yamaguci, causing them both to blush at how close they were to one another.
“Shut up Saltyshima, I’m not helpless. I’ve been cooking for years, I have a single mom and she needed all the help she could get with my sister. Plus, ever since I decided to go to Brazil she’s been terrified that I won’t be able to feed myself so she’s taught me a lot.” He explained simply. While impressed with this new side of their fellow teammate, it certainly dulled the moment. All four were reminded that in a very short time they would be three.
“Whatever Sunshine, just don’t go poisoning us right after confessing.” Tsukishima teased, trying to lift the mood.
“It’ll all be ready in like 15 minutes, take your medicine and drink some water,” Hinata snarked back, thankful that Tsuki had distracted everyone for at least a minute. He knew the coming conversation would not be nearly as light. He continued to prepare breakfast in relative silence, humming as he reheated some leftover miso soup that was in Kageyama’s fridge. Yamaguci came back into the kitchen right as the timer went off and helped Hinata plate everything up. By then Kageyama and Tsukishima came back into the kitchen and brought everything back out to the living room. While Hinata had been cooking, the other three had straightened the room. They folded up the blankets and put the pillows back as well as disposed of the illicit sake bottles.
Hinata smiled at the memory of last night, sad to see all evidence of it gone from the room. They all sat around the coffee table like they had the night before. The sense of familiarity from that morning when they had all woken up together was gone in the light of day and in their embarrassment of how they had acted with each other. They were all pretty quiet as they continued to eat their breakfast. To no one’s surprise, it was Hinata who broke the silence.
“We should probably talk about last night?” He asked the other three.
“We should,” Yamaguci agreed.
“What’s there to talk about, we all like each other, we all confessed, aren’t we dating?” Kageyama mumbled, talking while chewing his rice.
“We really have to teach you and the shrimp proper table manners, I refuse to be seen in public with you if you truly behave like that.” Tsukishima scoffed. “And, Hinata’s right we do need to talk about this because listening to us all last night, none of us have actually been in a relationship much less understand how to handle a polyamorous one. The only one I would say is even remotely able to handle this is Hinata and he’ll be leaving the country in a few months.”
“What Tsuki means is, this is new to all of us, and we’re all about to start completely new phases in our lives. We need to discuss the logistics so we don’t mess this up.” Yamaguci said in a far kinder manner.
“Well, when you put it like that..” Kageyama muttered sullenly. This time Tsukishima was pleased to notice that Kageyama had chewed his food completely before he said anything.
“I actually asked Kenma a lot of questions about his relationship so I could be more helpful,” Hinata said shyly, blushing at the honest compliment Tsukishima had paid him in his little rant. “But we could always just call him, Akaashi and Kuroo and Bokuto?” Hinata offered.
“Absolutely not,” Kei said as soon as that thought was voiced. “I do not want Bokuto and Kuroo sticking their noses in my relationship, they’re annoying as it is.” He grimaced at the thought of the barrage of texts and calls he would get from the annoying former captains.
Hinata decided he would try something he had discovered recently. If he made his eyes as big as possible and looked up at someone they usually would agree with him. He had tried this on Kageyama, Coach Ukai, and his teacher and while the results were mixed he had a feeling it would work in this situation.
“But Kei,” He said tilting his head up to look at the tall blonde, adding in his first name for extra power, “Whenever we study you always say to ask people who are smarter or have more experience and Kuroo and Bokuto have more experience.” He made his eyes as big as possible while saying this.
‘Jesus Christ I just want to kiss him and give him the entire world,’ Tsukishima thought as Hinata made a decent point. He knew he was being played, he had watched Hinata try this technique on Coach Ukai to get himself free meat buns and he failed miserably, but for some reason, he was weak to the tangerine. “Fine, we can call them.” He caved almost immediately. He knew he would need to stand stronger the next time though because god forbid that Hinata Shoyo knew how to manipulate him.
Hinata smiled so bright it practically blinded everyone in the room. “Perfect, I’ll call Kenma now.”
“Um Hinata, I’m pretty sure he’s sleeping, it’s still early.” Yamaguci offered up, pointing at the clock.
Kageyama was still in shock at how Hinata had gotten his way with Tsukishima. He was trying to figure out his own technique for manipulating the salt shaker.
“It’ll be fine, I’m pretty sure they’re waiting for this call anyways,” Hinata said and went to grab his phone from his bag.
“Wait what?” Tsukishima shouted.
“So are we no longer the only foursome of hot volleyball players or did you chicken out Chibi-chan?” Kuroo teased the little crow.
“Hey, hey, hey don’t be mean to my disciple bro, I'm sure he’s calling to tell us the good news. Though it’s a little early.”
“Would you two shut up! He called me and I don't want him to hang up because you are both idiots.”
“Kenma, just because you stayed up playing video games does not mean you get to be so cranky in the morning.”
“Aww, my little Kitten is always cranky when he doesn’t get enough rest.”
“Well, this kitten has claws that are about to come out if you don’t be quiet.”
The four crows heard a hiss of pain, a door slam, and then silence.
“Umm, Kenma?” Hinata started to ask.
“Everything’s fine Sho. I was just up late streaming. People really like watching me play, and I guess Kuroo answered my phone for me. Anyways, did you finally tell them?” Kenma said. The four suddenly heard muffled banging through the phone. “Don’t worry, I’m in my streaming room, it’s soundproofed and I locked it,” Kenma said before Hinata could ask.
“Yeah, I did tell them,” Hinata said, recovering far quicker from the wonky start to the phone call than the other three. It wasn’t that surprising considering he was far more accustomed to the Tokyo four’s antics. “Actually they’re all here right now and I think we might need all of you. We kind of have some questions.” Hinata explained.
“Fine, but remember you asked for it,” Kenma said. They heard a crash which was probably Bokuto and Kuroo who had been trying to get into the streaming room since Kenma locked it. Both the owl and cat wanted to know what had happened in Miyagi. “He told them, they have questions,” Kenma told Kuroo, Bokuto, and Akaashi as the Tokyo four moved into their living room.
“Nice going Tsuki!” Kuroo shouted
“Hey hey hey! I am so proud of you, my disciple!” Bokuto cheered.
“Please Kuroo-san, Bokuto-san, the neighbors,” Akaashi begged.
“Fine, what questions do you have?” Kuroo asked.

Chapter Text
“How does it work?” Yamaguci finally asked after about a minute of silence while the four crows tried to formulate questions for the other quad group.
Bokuto and Kuroo immediately started trying to talk over each other, attempting to give the best advice they could. No one could really make out what they were saying and honestly, after hearing random words like popcorn, goo, schedule, and octopus, Yamaguci really didn’t want to know. Thankfully Kuroo and Bokuto were both cut off by hisses of pain.
“Be quiet both of you,” Akaashi commanded them. ‘Wow, that’s impressive,’ Tsukishima thought. He had never given the Fukorodani setter much thought considering he was always being annoyed by the owl and cat captains but that man had serious control over the other two.
“Sorry Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguci,” Akaashi told the four, “I don’t really know how to answer that question other than it just works. We fit together and we are complete with each other. It’s almost like a puzzle, he mused.
“Or a co-op game, we need each other to complete our goals and to level up,” Kenma added nonchalantly. The Karasuno boys heard a quiet aww from the phone. It was most likely Kuroo who made the sound, he loved his kitten so much.
“But how do we make sure we do it right?” Yamaguci prodded again.
“There is no right way,” Bokuto said matter of factly. Had the crows been in the room with the Tokyo four they would have seen the looks of shock on everyone’s face but Bokuto’s. “We’ve messed up a lot and almost broken apart, it's really tough for me when I’m not here, but when I am it’s like Akaashi said, we fit together.” He said, his words getting quieter and quieter as finished speaking.
It was incredibly hard for Bokuto, being the only one of the four not in the city. He hated being away from his boyfriends, he felt like he had missed so much of their relationship and he knew it would be so easy for the three of them to break off, but every time he came to visit, or they came to see him play in Osaka, he knew he made the right decision in getting involved with the others. No one else understood him. Akaashi had been the first person in a very long time to keep up with him. Kuroo challenged him more than anyone else, which made him a better volleyball player and person. And Kenma, Kenma would just let him be Bokuto, whether he was being incredibly energetic or if he was in ‘Emo Mode’. Kenma would watch him run around, or sit with him while he worked things out.
Kenma, sensing that Bokuto was struggling with his emotions got up and went to hug him. Kuroo was so proud of his Kitten. Back when they first met and even throughout high school Kenma disliked people, especially loud and obnoxious ones. But as years went by and especially in the last year since the four of them had gotten together Kenma and Bokuto had formed a special connection. It was Kenma who had realized that Bokuto was suffering from minor anxiety attacks. As someone who also had anxiety Kenma helped Bokuto cope with being on a professional team, as well as being separated from his boyfriends. Akaashi smiled at the two, proud of the progress Bokuto-san had been making. Normally he would not admit that he missed the others, rather projecting his happy-go-lucky, bubbly personality so that he didn’t make anyone sad. But, here he was sharing his feelings with his boyfriends and his friends from Karasuno.
“I hate to say that you guys called us for nothing, but you have to be the ones to figure things out for yourselves.” Akaashi said into the phone, realizing that no one had spoken for a minute. “I will offer you two pieces of advice, communication is the foundation to any successful relationship, and a schedule is imperative when you have four people in a relationship, especially if you will not be living together.” He finished with a smile, thinking of his very organized, color-coded google calendar for himself and his boyfriends.
“Thank you Akaashi-san!” Hinata shouted loudly. Akaashi chuckled as he heard the other three hush him.
“You’re welcome, and we plan to come to see you all play at Nationals, so good luck!” He said and hung up the phone. Turning to his boyfriends he saw that Bokuto was taking advantage of having Kenma on his lap and was currently making out with the pudding-headed man. Kuroo gave Akaashi a sly smile as if to say ‘Wanna join?’
‘It is still early and we don’t have anything planned this weekend, plus it has been a while since Bokuto-san has been here’ Akaashi thought to himself. Deciding on a course of action he joined the fray and the Tokyo four were quickly occupied with each other.
“So that answered absolutely zero questions, I knew we shouldn’t have called them,” Tsukishima snarked.
“I thought it was kind of helpful,” Yamaguci tried to offer up to take away some of Tsuki’s ire.
“Saltyshima is right, that didn’t help at all,” Kageyama complained, falling back onto his couch.
“No, it was helpful, especially Akaashi’s advice, and I have something to say,” Hinata told the other three. They all turned to look at him, he seemed almost scared, “Idon’tthinkweshouldstartdatingyet!” He shouted quickly.
“Hinata, I think you need to say that again,” Yamaguci told him.
“I don’t think we should start dating yet,” Hinata whispered to them.
“What?”
“Why?”
Kageyama and Tsukishima both shouted simultaneously. Both were shocked at this statement, after all, it was Hinata who had begun the process of bringing all four of them together.
“Can you explain Hinata?” Yamaguci asked him gently.
“It’s just with Nationals coming up, I don’t want us to be distracted by anything. Like what if we get into an argument because I know we will. I can’t go a day without fighting with Kageyama and at most two days with Tsukishima,” He started off, and everyone chuckled as the mood lightened slightly. Hinata did tend to fight a lot with those two. “And, I don’t want us to regret anything about this last tournament, I don’t want us to hate each other.” He said very quietly.
Surprisingly it was Tsukishima who scooped Hinata up and hugged him tightly. “While I can’t deny that we fight a lot Shrimp, I don’t think I would regret anything.” He told Hinata.
Yamaguci smiled at the affection Tsukishima was showing Hinata. Tsuki wasn’t very touchy with strangers, but once you were in his circle, it was impossible to get him to let go of you. Yamaguci was proud to say he had been in Tsuki’s circle for a while so he was used to being hugged, or cuddled, or used as a pillow. Judging by the expressions on Kageyama and Hinata’s faces this was new behavior to them. Yamaguci chuckled to himself, ‘They’ll learn that Tsuki’s a big softie deep down.’
Kageyama watch Tsukishima hug Hinata tightly, he cleared his throat a little bit. “Ahem,” the other three looked at him, “Hinata might be right,”
“WHAT!?!?” Hinata shouted, Kageyama almost never agreed with him.
“I think we should put our focus on Nationals, BUT I don’t think we should actively avoid working on our relationship for now. We’ll have a little over two months after volleyball is over to work on that, but we only have a little time left playing together.” He told the three.
“What is this world coming to?” Tsukishima said, releasing his hold on Hinata. “Suddenly the King and the Shrimp are making valid arguments?” He threw his hands in the air in mock frustration.
“For once, you guys are right, but of course it’s about volleyball so why should I be surprised?” Yamaguci said with a smile. “Alright, we won’t actively work on our relationship, but we aren’t avoiding each other or the subject if it comes up naturally,” Yamaguci said, taking the lead like the wonderful captain he is.
“Aye aye Captain,” The other three said together, Hinata had actually saluted.
‘This will certainly be an interesting few weeks,’ Yamaguci thought to himself.
The four continued arriving early and leaving late from practice. They were slowly growing closer physically. Tsukishima would hang off of Hinata and Kageyama more at practice. Yamaguci gave Kageyama more hugs and of course, Hinata didn’t miss a single opportunity to touch the other three, whether he held their hands as they walked to the market, or if he jumped on their backs because his legs were too tired.
The four all visited a shrine together for the new year, as had been the tradition of the third years since they first started at Karasuno. All four wished for good luck in the coming year, victory at nationals, and a good relationship with the other three. Yachi pulled Hinata aside while the other three went to get their fortunes.
“Did you finally talk to them?” She asked, she had noticed the four were closer, especially Tsukishima and Hinata. Those two talked more and seemed to argue less than before.
“Yeah, we’re not trying anything until after the tournament though,” He told her. She squealed in delight at the news. Her four best friends were finally getting together and she couldn’t be prouder of them.
Before they knew it, the national tournament was upon them. Karasuno played well, all their hard work was finally paying off. It was a disappointment to lose in the semi-finals, but when they played on the center court for third place and won each of the four third years were finally satisfied.
The bus ride home from Nationals was bittersweet. They knew they would probably never play volleyball together again like that, but they also had hope for their future together. Hinata had invited the other three over to his house for a sleepover the night they came back from Tokyo. It was finally time for the four to talk and see if they had the ability to make a relationship work.
Notes:
Some BokoAkaKuroKen for the soul, sorry I know I keep putting off them getting together, but I truly believe that if the four were to start dating Kageyama and Hinata wouldn't want volleyball to become something any of them could regret, especially because it brought them all together.

Chapter Text
The four slowly made their way to Hinata’s house. Each holding hands with the others throughout the long walk.
“I know why you have such crazy stamina now Shrimp, how do you do this twice a day?” Tsukishima panted as they got closer to Hinata’s home.
Hinata giggled and grabbed Tsuki’s hand, I’m used to it by now. I knew it would be a lot so I actually practiced going to and from school after I graduated, I didn’t ever want to be late for practice!” He said happily beginning to skip. He dragged Tsukishima along for a little bit before Kei let go of his hand and continued to walk at a more leisurely pace with Yamaguci.
The four came to Hinata’s house not long after that and went to take off their shoes.
“Sorry for the intrusion!” The three who did not live there shouted.
“You don’t have to worry about that, my mom and sister stayed in Tokyo an extra night so that they could sight see.” He said smiling at how polite his friends were.
“So no one is here?” Tsukishima asked with a strange glint in his eyes.
“Yeah, that’s kind of why I suggested we sleepover here, I know it’s far but I also knew that no one would be home and we could talk more openly,” Hinata told the three. “Not that my mom would care, she likes all of you, and Natsu keeps asking when I am finally going to ask you out,” He added quickly, he didn’t want them to think he was hiding his feelings from his family.
“That was really nice of you Shoyo to think about that,” Yamaguci told him. Hinata smiled shyly at the use of his given name. He had noticed that all of the third years felt comfortable enough to use them around each other.
“Let’s go to the living room, I’ll order pizza and then I think it’s time we talked about this,” Hinata said firmly, squaring his shoulders he led the way to his living room, and while he ordered pizza the other three got settled. Tsukishima took one corner of the couch. Kageyama sat sideways across the lone armchair in the room, and Yamaguci sat next to Tsukishima. Hinata felt better standing up or moving around, so he simply stood facing all three of them.
Kageyama was already tired of the tension in the room so he stood up too. “What do we even need to discuss? We all like each other so why can’t we just date?” He asked frustratedly. While he did agree that they should hold off until after Nationals he wanted to be with the other three now.
“It’s not that simple your highness,” Tsuki said almost kindly, “We have a lot to figure out especially because we’re all going to be in different places 2 months from now.” He added getting a little frustrated as well. He too wanted to skip right to the honeymoon phase of this relationship but logically knew that it couldn’t happen that easily.
Hinata looked down at the ground, a little sad at the reminder that he wouldn’t be with them in 2 months time. “Maybe, the three of you should date.” He said quietly. He looked back up at them, some tears in his eyes, “It’s not fair for me to ask you all to wait when I’m going to the other side of the world. Bokuto and the others could make it work because it's a 6-hour train ride, this is multiple flights and a completely different country.”
The other three were so shocked to see Hinata as anything but confident. Kageyama had seen him frustrated and angry but never so completely defeated. “Absolutely not,” Yamaguci said resolutely. “We are not moving on without you. You may be leaving us, but you are coming back and I for one am not interested in there being an us if you’re not here too,” Yamaguci finished, crossing his arms and giving the others his captain’s ‘what I say goes’ glare.
“Come on Shoyo, I may have beat you to bringing up polyamory and the king beat you to asking us all out, but you are the one who has held us together for the last 3 years. You pulled Tobio’s head out of his uptight ass, inspired Yamaguci to work hard and earn the captaincy and you made me fall in love with volleyball.” As he spoke these words he got up from the couch and pulled Hinata into a hug.
“I made you love volleyball?” Hinata mumbled into Kei’s shirt, clutching the other tightly.
“Technically, blocking one of the top three aces in Japan made me love volleyball,” Tsukishima chuckled when he felt Hinata hit him lightly, “But watching you and the king play, your hunger, and your drive to be better inspired me. And I won’t lie, those receives you pulled off in our first year against Inarizaki were fucking hot. It was incredible, I could practically feel you behind me telling me ‘I have your back.’ You know how amazing it is to have someone behind you as a blocker and I think I started to fall for you then. No matter how awful I had been to you, you were there.” He admitted to the little crow.
“Aww!” Yamaguci exclaimed at the heartfelt confession from the normally stoic middle blocker. Tsuki rarely let his true thoughts be known, so it spoke volumes to Tadashi about how much the dinosaur nerd truly cared about Shoyo.
Hinata smiled up at the tall blonde. On instinct, he used his incredible skill and jumped up wrapping his legs practically around Tsukishima’s chest and softly kissed the blonde.
Tsukishima was in shock, the Tangerine, the littlest crow (since Nishinoya left), the decoy, Hinata Shoyo was kissing him. He gently kissed the orange-haired boy back, parting their lips after no more than a few seconds. If they kept kissing, Tsuki had a feeling the pizza delivery guy would be ringing the doorbell for a while.
Tsuki gently let Shoyo down and then pulled the orange haired boy to sit on the couch with him. All four boys were quietly reflecting on what had just happened when the doorbell rang. Shoyo jumped off the couch and went to grab the pizza. When he came back everyone had drifted closer together. The other three had pushed the coffee table away from the couch and were all sitting on the floor around it. Shoyo placed the pizza down and they all dug in. The scene felt much like the night they all originally confessed.
“So, can we kiss each other now?” Kageyama asked, breaking the silence and the slight tension that had developed since Hinata came back with the pizza.
They all chuckled at the blueberry’s question. “I think kissing is on the table,” Yamaguci said, and then he leaned over and kissed Kageyama soundly on the mouth. He pulled away before the setter even realized what was happening. “I think first things first is to say where we are all going in two months' time. Tsuki and I will be in Sendai for university. We requested to share a dorm, but that doesn’t mean we will. We’ll find out in the next few weeks.” Taking charge in difficult situations was something he was slowly but surely getting better at.
“I think I’ll be in Tokyo, I’ve been scouted by a few teams but I’m planning to accept the offer from the Schweinden Adlers,” Kageyama announced after a minute. This was news to the other three. Kageyama had been very secretive about where he was going to play professionally. They were all so proud of him for snagging an offer from one of the best teams in the Japanese V-League.
“We all know that I am going to be in Brazil for the next two years,” Hinata said simply.
“Ok, now we know where we’ll be that makes it easier to plan things. I remember what Akaashi said a few weeks ago and I think it would be a good idea for us all to set up a shared calendar. That way we can plan dates and phone calls around all of our schedules,” Yamaguci said. “It won’t be perfect by any means but I think this is better than nothing, in the meantime, I say we just enjoy being with each other.”
“I think we should discuss the more physical side of the relationship,” Tsukishima said, once Yamaguci was finished. “I think we all agree that kissing is a go, but what about beyond that?”
“Is that a proposition Tsukishima?” Hinata asked sassily.
“I mean I’m not stopping you,” Tsukishima sassed back.
“Ok guys let's dial it back a notch,” Yamaguci broke the two out of their little bubble, “Are we all trying to stay on the same page as each other, or is it ok for others to go ahead?”
“I honestly think it’s inevitable that you two will have sex, especially if you wind up in the same dorm,” Kageyama said nonchalantly. “I don’t mind too much since I am apparently the last one here with their virginity intact.”
“We can change that anytime you want Tobio,” Hinata said, Kageyama blushed at Hinata’s implication and at the use of his first name.
“Shut up dumbass!” He shouted.
“No need to get angry, if you’re that frustrated I am happy to be of service,” Kei continued Hinata’s teasing.
“Ok, I never thought I’d say this but Kei, please stop turning Tobio on, I’m trying to be serious here!” Yamaguci yelled, finally losing his cool.
“Sorry Tadashi,” Tsukishima told his childhood best friend.
“Sorry Dashi, but he’s just so fun to rile up, the way his face scrunches is just so cute!” Hinata squealed. Kageyama somehow blushed even brighter.
“I don’t know if I’m ready for anything beyond kissing,” Kageyama said quietly, “But I don’t mind if you guys want to go ahead. I’ll get there eventually.”
“I also don’t mind if you guys do more, just don’t be mad if I throw a tantrum or two, I have a feeling I am going to be very frustrated for the next two years,” Hinata told the three leaning back into Tsukishima. “Honestly I don’t know if I want to go farther, I would hate to know what I’ll be missing out on.” He mused out loud.
Tsukishima chuckled at the littlest crow’s thoughts. “Alright, I think we can all agree to kissing and then more as each person is ready. How about we also promise to let the others know if we do happen to do something, that way no one feels left out,” after saying this out loud he smirked and continued on saying, “who knows maybe it’ll even help the shrimp be a little less frustrated in Brazil.”
“So mean,” Hinata complained and lightly punched the blonde.
“Ok, the last big thing on my mind is what do we tell people?” Yamaguci posed this very big and obvious question to the others. The four all looked at each other, thinking about how others would react to their unconventional relationship.
“I know my mom is fine with it, after all, she didn’t have issues with you all staying the night here,” Hinata started.
“I’m not sure, I know it’s hard for professional athletes to be out, and ours isn’t exactly a mainstream lifestyle,” Kageyama continued.
“I don’t know if I am ready to deal with Akiteru’s teasing, or my mom begging me to invite people over. For some reason, she doesn’t believe that I have friends even though she’s met you all.” Tsuki added in an attempt to lighten the mood from Kageyama’s heavy, albeit logical, answer.
“I have no idea why,” Yamaguci said laughing. He was very familiar with the blonde’s mother and her desperate pleas to continue being friends with her rather difficult younger son. “And Akiteru wouldn’t be that bad about it,” He added.
“You are very wrong there, he’s been planning ways to embarrass me in front of my partner for years, and now he has three options,” Tsuki complained.
“What about you Yamaguci? What do you want to say?” Hinata asked their captain.
“I want to tell people, but really only my parents and our teammates. I don’t think we need to make a big deal plus I’m pretty sure there are multiple bets going on with our old teammates about our relationships so I’d definitely like to know who won and lost.” He said giggling as he remembered the time Ennoshita let it slip that there was a bet on when certain couples would get together.
“I’d be ok with telling our old teammates,” Kageyama said.
“Should we just resurrect that old group chat?” Tsukishima asked.
“Let’s do it!” Hinata shouted, he attempted to grab his phone from the table but Tsuki circled his waist and pulled him back.
“Hey King, help me hold the shrimp here, Yamaguci can inform the others,” He said, struggling to contain the tangerine.
“Happy to help,” Kageyama said, giving Hinata a rather unnerving smile. He immediately grabbed the smaller one’s legs and held him down further.
Hinata struggled in the two’s grip, “Come on guys, why can’t I be the one to tell everyone?” he whined.
“You always make things more difficult than necessary, do you not remember the captain announcement debacle?” Tsukishima asked. Hinata stopped struggling and huffed.
“Fine, but in my defense, Tanaka and Noya distracted me,” he told the two holding him down.
“It’s been done,” Yamaguci told the three. He had quickly sent a text message to the group chat from when they were first years while the other three were having a minor power struggle.
From the table, the other’s phones began buzzing and did not stop. Everyone’s eyes widened at the onslaught of text messages from the previously dead group chat. Tsukishima and Kageyama both let go of Hinata in favor of grabbing their phones.

Chapter Text
The four all chuckled at the last message from their former vice-captain.
“Should we be concerned that he will be teaching children one day?” Yamaguci asked.
“Worst case scenario is that they will end up like Hinata or Tanaka,” Tsukishima answered.
“HEY!” Hinata shouted, then paused to think for a second, “Actually, Tsuki’s right, but it’ll probably be fine since Daichi is around to reign in his brand of chaos.”
“But Daichi won’t be in the classroom with him,” Yamaguci said pointedly.
“Please like he won’t manage to intercept any call related to Suga or Suga’s future school,” Kageyama said. He was currently pouting that they were talking about their senpais instead of cuddling like they should be as a brand new quad.
“What’s the King got to pout about right now?” Tsukishima teased him.
“Oh, I don’t know? Maybe the fact that we are all officially together and I am not being cuddled by one of you,” he grumbled, crossing his arms.
The other three looked at each other and smiled together, a silent plan forming. Hinata wiggled his way under Kageyama’s crossed arms and smiled up at the blunt setter. Tsukishima shifted over to one side of the blueberry and Yamaguci to the other. They both wrapped their arms around the duo. After a second Tobio let out a little sigh of happiness. This is what he had been craving for 3 years, even if he didn’t quite realize that this is what he had wanted. He may have sighed a bit too soon though because all three of his boyfriends started to tickle him.
It soon became an all-out war, first Tobio being the sole target, then when Tsuki let out a giggle because Yamaguci caught him all eyes turned to him. Not long after Tsukishima used his height and strength and managed to divert all attention to Hinata, but being the quickest of the four they turned to Yamaguci and it eventually became every man for himself.
After everyone had calmed down Yamaguci suggested that they all go to bed, it had been a long day after all. They each took turns using Hinata’s bathroom and when they all were finished they moved the coffee table out of the way and put their futons together.
Surprisingly it was Yamaguci who stopped them before they all went to sleep. “I want a kiss, I don’t think it was fair that only Shoyo and Kei got to earlier.” Hinata smiled at the casual use of his first name and at the fact that his boyfriend wanted to kiss him.
“Well if you insist,” He said cheerfully. He walked over to Tadashi, put his arms around his neck and went onto his tiptoes. The kiss wasn’t at all smooth, how could it be when it was their first, but it was perfect at the same time. They both tasted of mint toothpaste and before Tadashi knew it Shoyo was prompting him to open his mouth. When he did, their tongues met rather clumsily and Tadashi wrapped his arms around Shoyo’s waist. Both completely lost in the moment didn’t see Kei and Tobio come behind each of them to pull them apart.
“Hey!” Hinata said, wiping at a bit of spit that had been left behind. Tobio still had him trapped in his arms.
“I’m pretty sure he asked for a kiss dumbass, not a whole makeout session,” If Tobio was being honest with himself he was a little jealous of the show they just put on. And, since he could, he leaned down and kissed the tangerine. Hinata’s protests died quickly when the ravenette began to kiss him. He was definitely worse at kissing than Dashi but Hinata could absolutely work with it. He twisted in Tobio’s arms and walked him backwards towards the couch, never breaking lip contact. Tobio had seen what Hinata had done to Yamaguci, so he tried to use his own tongue, and Shoyo was more than happy to be part of this experiment. Kageyama’s knees hit the couch and he sat down.
Hinata straddled Kageyama’s lap and immediately went back to kissing him. The two’s competitive nature came out after a minute and they both began dueling for control of the kiss. Hinata had more experience, but Kageyama was bigger so it was a draw for now. While those two continued their own make-out session, Kei and Tadashi looked on with small smiles. They were now dating those two passionate yet idiotic volleyball heads.
“Do I get my kiss now, or is the shrimp the only one you wanted to kiss?” Kei whispered in Tadashi’s ear. The freckled boy shivered a bit at feeling his boyfriend’s breath on his neck. He turned around in Tsuki’s arms and put his arms around the blonde’s neck.
“I’ve been wanting to do this for years,” He admitted to his best friend, and leaned up to join their lips. Kei smiled at this comment, he too had been wanting to kiss Yamaguci for a while now. Their kiss was much slower than Tadashi and Shoyo’s kiss and definitely calmer than Shoyo and Tobio’s current kiss.
Kei pulled away slowly, “We should probably stop those two before Kageyama stops being the only virgin in the room.” He smiled down at Tadashi and pecked his lips again. “Oi Shrimp, King, unless you two have a secret stash of lube and condoms between those couch cushions stop before Tobio pops his cherry!” He shouted at the duo still making out on the couch.
They both pulled apart from their kiss looking a bit dazed. Neither seemed to realize they had their hands up each other’s shirts and had been slowly working them up over their heads. Shoyo looked a little guilty, he didn’t want to pressure his boyfriend into something he wasn’t ready for. Kageyama looked sheepish at having been so caught up in the moment. He saw Shoyo’s guilty face and immediately cupped the little crow’s cheeks.
“I really liked that, but maybe we went just a bit too fast,” He whispered to the boy in his lap. Shoyo nodded shyly at him, still looking a tad upset at almost taking advantage of his boyfriend. Kageyama smiled softly, tilted Hinata’s face up, and gave him a very gentle kiss. He helped the little crow off his lap and walked over to his taller boyfriend, “Thank you Kei,” he said softly.
Tsuki smiled down at the blue-eyed setter, “Apparently I will be the Chastity police in this relationship.” All four shared a laugh at this comment, and the blonde leaned down to give Tobio a kiss. Similar to his kiss with Tadashi, this kiss was much gentler, but Kageyama had gotten a bit better after having kissed Hinata and he used his newfound knowledge to get Tsukishima to open his mouth and tangle their tongues. Kei pulled back after a minute, “Tobio if you continue on like that none of us are going to get any sleep tonight.”
“What if I don’t want to get any sleep?” Tobio asked him with a sly smile. He leaned up to try and kiss Tsukishima again, but Tsuki dodged the kiss and picked Kageyama up, trapping his arms and halting any further opportunities for a kiss.
“Nope, now you have one last boyfriend to kiss goodnight, and then we’re all going to bed,” He told the blueberry and set Tobio down and spun him around to face Yamaguci.
Tobio was a little put out by his taller boyfriend's manhandling of him, but when faced with his freckled boyfriend he smiled and leaned down to kiss him. Despite his newfound knowledge of kissing with tongue Yamaguci refused to open his mouth to Kageyama. Don’t get Tadashi wrong, he already was addicted to kissing his boyfriends. They were each so different, despite how much bigger Kei was he kissed so gently as if he was afraid Tadashi would break. Shoyo kissed like these were his last moments, and considering how soon he would be leaving, it made sense. And Kageyama, well he kissed a bit like a puppy, excited and eager to show his love and affection for the other. But as much as he loved kissing them all it had been a very long day of volleyball, traveling and major life decisions. He just wanted to sleep.
He pulled away gently from Kageyama and gave him a soft smile. He grabbed the setter’s hand and pulled him over to the futons on the floor. Just as they were about to get settled in, Hinata shouted.
“Hey Kei and I never kissed!” He said with a big pout on his face.
“We were the first ones to kiss,” Tsukishima rolled his eyes at the idioticness of his shortest boyfriend. When Hinata still stood there pouting he sighed, walked over to the tangerine, and bent down. “One kiss, don’t try to pull what you did on Tadashi or Kageyama because let’s remember that I am much bigger than you.” He growled in Hinata’s ear. Hinata shivered at the dominant tone Tsuki used on him. Shoyo was tempted to do the exact opposite of what was demanded of him simply to see what his punishment would be. Tsuki raised his eyebrows as he seemed to guess what the other middle blocker was thinking. “We have plenty of time together Sho, even if it doesn’t feel like it, but I am tired and would like to go to bed.” He said, realizing that Hinata’s desperation was fuelled by his inevitable departure, now that Nationals was over, there was really nothing else for the decoy to distract himself with before he left for Brazil.
“Okay,” Hinata said, nodding softly. He stood up on his tiptoes and gave Kei an extremely gentle kiss, it may have lasted a bit longer than it should have but he had to show his appreciation for his boyfriend’s understanding somehow.
“Now that we have all kissed each other once can we please go to bed?” Tsuki asked.
“Or we could kiss each other again?” Kageyama countered. Now that he had been properly introduced to the world of kissing, he didn’t exactly want to stop. Tsukishima didn’t want to either, but he also did not want to spend his first full day with his boyfriends being tired and cranky.
“Let’s go to bed, Kags,” Hinata said, smiling at his favorite setter.
“Fine,” the ravenette grumbled. Just like other training camps, Kageyama took a futon on the edge. Hinata took the futon just next to Kageyama and Tsukishima took the one next to Hinata. Yamaguci took the futon on the other edge. Hinata being kind of cold scooted in closer to Tsukishima and curled into a little ball facing the blonde. Kageyama scooted closer to his boyfriends and gingerly put an arm around Hinata’s waist. Tsuki and Yamaguci settled in close to each other, used to sleeping near one another due to countless sleepovers in their childhood. Tsuki smiled at the little orange-haired crow that was curling into his side, and at the genius setter who had moved closer. He grabbed Tadashi’s hand and fell asleep with a soft smile on his face.
The four were awoken late the next morning by Hinata’s mom and Natsu taking pictures and cooing at the new quad.
“Mom, Natsu, really?” Hinata groaned at how embarrassing his family was.
“Oh hush Shoyo, you finally brought home a boyfriend and you brought home three. I am so proud of you!” She exclaimed. Yamaguci chuckled at Hinata’s mother and smiled as he sat up after a really good nights’ rest. ‘I could get used to this' he thought looking at his three boyfriends. The other three were all thinking the exact same thing.

I'm definitely not the best at writing kissing or smut or anything so this is probably as good as it will get tbh
Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Summary:
It's the beginning of the 4's first day as a couple in the real world.
Notes:
Hi! Sorry I am posting so late, but life has never been busier for me between my job and friends and family. Updates will probably be fewer and further between for the next month or so considering I somehow have plans every weekend.

Chapter Text
The 4 crows were able to spend the rest of the weekend at Hinata’s house, talking, laughing, and kissing with only minimal interruption from Natsu and Hinata’s mom. However, Monday morning came and the four returned to school and the last few volleyball practices of their high school careers.
Kageyama could hear the desperation in Hinata’s voice every time he shouted “One more!” when asking for a set. And, like the good boyfriend he was, Tobio set for him again and again. As he was about to set another Tsukishima caught the ball Yachi had tossed and Yamaguci walked over to Hinata to have a quiet conversation.
“Why did you stop us?” Kageyama asked his taller boyfriend.
“I know you both are volleyball monsters but you need to stop. Not only are you both soaked in sweat but we have class in 15 min.” Kei said exasperatedly. Secretly he was a little worried. He could sense how anxious Hinata and Kageyama were. It made sense, now that Nationals were over Kageyama and Hinata had less than a month to play together. Hinata had confided in the other three that when he eventually came back to Japan he did not want to play on the same team as Tobio.
“I have to keep my promise to beat you on the court,” He said with a soft smile. Those two had a bond that was almost as strong as Tadashi’s and Kei’s. He put an arm around Tobio’s shoulder as they watched their other two boyfriends have a conversation.
“Sho, we only have 15 minutes until class starts, you and Tobio need to at the very least change,” Yamaguci told the Tangerine.
“Dashi, one more, I promise,” Shoyo begged his boyfriend, clasping his hands together in front of him.
“No Sho, I am pulling rank, Captain’s orders go change. Actually please shower, for the sake of your classmates.” Yamaguci said, getting a whiff of the littlest crow.
“Come on Shrimpy, I know you have a math quiz today, I am hoping for once in your life you actually retained what I taught you,” Kei said, walking over to the Captain and the Decoy. It was a sad attempt to distract Hinata, but usually insulting him or challenging him worked. Luckily it still did and the orange-haired boy smiled.
“I’m going to get a great grade just you wait and see!” He shouted and then looking at Kageyama he sprinted off towards the club room.
“No fair, that’s a head start Boke!” Kageyama shouted running after him.
“Awww! That was so sweet, you’re all taking care of each other!” Yachi said from behind them. Yamaguci started a little at this, forgetting the manager was still there.
“Nah, I just spent way too much time helping the Shrimp for him to blow off his quiz,” Tsukishima said nonchalantly.
“I’m glad you all finally realized it! I’ve been waiting for something to happen between you four since October!” Yachi said, unbothered by Tsukishima’s seemingly apathetic attitude.
“Tch” He hissed simply and followed the two idiots to the club room.
“Sorry Yachi, he just doesn’t like it when people know what he’s thinking,” Yamaguci apologized on Tsuki’s behalf. Yachi just smiled at him, after three years with those four she had figured out how to read them decently well. She would never admit to them that she had bet on the four of them getting their act together well after college. She loved her year mates dearly but she knew it would take something big, like separation for the four of them to figure out that they were meant to be. Now if only she could find her person or persons.
Yamaguci walked slowly to the club room, coming to terms with the fact that he was dating three other people. It was easy to ignore the real world when they were all just staying at Hinata’s house, but now they were at school and soon they would be out in the world. It was going to be difficult and he had no idea how to act around the others when in public. He knew he would like to hold Kei’s hand while walking to class, and he would love to give Hinata a good luck kiss before his quiz and he desperately wanted to cuddle with Kageyama during lunch. But, how would other people react? He was so lost in thought he had not realized that he was in the club room and changing. What drew him out of his thoughts was the sound of a whistle coming from the door.
Hinata was standing there with wet hair and in a very short towel. “Our Tadashi is very hot, I say we petition the school to let him walk around shirtless all the time!” He said. Yamaguci blushed bright red at his boyfriend’s compliment and borderline sexual harrasment.
“Oi Shrimp, you have less than 5 minutes to get changed and get to class, besides if Tadashi walked around shirtless you would be getting even worse grades than you currently do.” Tsukishima barked at the orange-haired boy.
“You really are going to be the chastity police aren’t you?” Hinata asked, walking past and very quickly changing. He didn’t want to be late and get yelled at by the teacher again. Despite placing third in Nationals he knew without a doubt he would get in trouble for being late.
Tsukishima walked over to Yamaguci and handed him the shirt he had yet to put on, “Hey, whatever you are overthinking, stop, whatever you want to do it’s fine with me. And, I bet it’s more than fine with those two idiots.” He told the freckled boy, giving him a rare genuine smile.
Kageyama walked in a second later and quickly changed, his teacher would probably be a bit more lenient with him being late, but he didn’t want to push the goodwill too far.
“I’ll see you all at lunch? Eat by the gym?” He asked a little quietly.
“Bakeyama, you only want to sit there because it’s close to the vending machine so that you can get milk!” Hinata shouted.
“Oi, Shoyo, you have a quiz, get to class!” Tsukishima shouted.
“What will you give me if I pass?” Hinata teased the blonde. He wanted to see how far he could push the taller middle blocker before he snapped. Hinata had a feeling that when Kei snapped it would be very, very fun for all involved.
“If you pass, I won’t call you an idiot for at least an hour,” Kei said, not rising to the bait.
“Hinata, come here,” Yamaguci beckoned. The littlest crow made his way to the captain and when they were standing close, Yamaguci bent down to whisper in his ear, “If you do well on your quiz, over a 50, I will give you a reward.” He said huskily. He watched Shoyo shiver and then he went in for the kill. He leaned down and gave the decoy a very sweet kiss. “Now go, before you’re late,” He whispered. Yamaguci smiled as he watched Hinata tear out of the clubroom.
“Huh, so if food doesn’t work as motivation, then sex will,” Tsukishima mused, trying not to laugh at the whole encounter he just witnessed. “This will definitely be useful,” he muttered to himself. Then he walked towards the door, “are you both coming? We’re already late for class.”
Kageyama was still standing there in a towel. He wanted a kiss too, “Tadashi, if I do well on my English quiz today can I get a reward too?” He asked his captain.
Yamaguci chuckled, “Only if you get over a 50,” he told the blueberry. He had never seen Kagayma look so determined for anything other than volleyball. He made his way to the door and continued to wait while Tobio changed into his school uniform.
“I have a feeling that you and I will be at odds in this relationship if you’re the one getting them riled up and I’m the one who has to calm them down,” Kei whispered into Tadashi’s ear.
Tadashi turned and smirked at his tallest boyfriend, “Or, you could just join in the fun?” He teased the dinosaur nerd.
Kageyama joined the two at the door. Tadashi locked the door and after a moment’s hesitation he grabbed both boy’s hands and walked to class. Because they were already late, no one saw the three’s entrance, but if their classmates had they would have immediately started talking about the volleyball players. Despite all of them being in separate classes, the teammates were incredibly close and often ate lunch together rather than with their friends in class. There was something about the four when they were together. They seemed to orbit around each other, when one moved, so did the other three.
They parted ways at their classrooms after giving each other a quick peck on the cheek. They all planned to meet at lunch to discuss classes and plans for the rest of the school year. Yamaguci smiled to himself, maybe being in a polyamorous relationship would be easier than he thought.
Oh how wrong he was.

Chapter Text
Graduation day was bittersweet for all four boys. They were excited to be moving on to the next parts of their lives but sad to say goodbye to high school where they met and played volleyball together. They knew with graduation they each would be moving onto bigger and better things, even if they weren’t together. Tsukishima and Yamaguci were going to university in Sendai, Kageyama was moving to Tokyo to start his pro career with the Schweinden Adlers and in just a few short days, Hinata would be moving across the world to play volleyball in Brazil. Despite the circumstances, all four boys wanted to make the most of this day as so many of their friends and former rivals had come to cheer them on in their final moments of high school.
“Hinata Shoyo” Announced the Karasuno vice principal. He may have been keeping a tight hold on his toupee but considering his history with the Karasuno volleyball team, no one could blame him. Shoyo was cheered on by his boyfriends and family. He spotted his Senpai Bokuto and his boyfriends in the crowd along with Tanaka and Nishinoya who had just returned from his trip to Australia.
“Kageyama Tobio” Kageyama’s name was accompanied by cheers from his boyfriends and whoops of delight from his former teammates and older sister. He blushed incredibly red when he heard Suga cheering loudly that “that was his Kohai!”
“Tsukishima Kei” was very calm in receiving his diploma though his boyfriends could tell he was embarrassed by the amount of attention being paid to him by the crowd. His brother Akiteru and his mom were cheering loudly, but they were almost drowned out by Kuroo and Bokuto who loved to embarrass the dinosaur nerd.
Finally, last but certainly not least, “Yamaguci Tadashi” received his diploma looking like a strawberry, with a red face and green hair, he would not have been out of place in a Christmas market. He received the most cheers from his older teammates and even a few members of the neighborhood volleyball team made it down to see him graduate.
Coach Ukai was hiding a few tears at seeing the last of his original team graduating while Takeda was openly sobbing. He was so proud of all of his club and he knew to expect great things from all of them, past, present, and future.
After the ceremony, Shoyo ran to hug his best Tokyo friend Kenma, whom he had not had the chance to see since he confessed to his boyfriends. He had been so busy studying Portuguese and getting visas and everything else needed for his move to another country he had not been able to make the trip to Tokyo. Kenma understood, of course, he had a surprise of his own for Sho.
“Congratulations, though I am honestly surprised you don’t have to take an extra class,” Kenma teased him.
“Hey!” Hinata shouted at the insult.
“Shut up Shrimp, you were just as surprised as the rest of us that you didn’t require any extra classes,” Tsukishima said trying to extract himself from his current situation, which was being manhandled by both Kuroo and Bokuto. Apparently playing pro volleyball had made the owl even stronger and he was finding it very difficult to get out of their hold.
“Yeah Boke!” Kageyama threw in, coming up to the group with his older sister Miwa.
“You have no room to talk Tobio, you barely passed,” Yamaguci told the setter.
“Anyways,” Kenma said, almost regretting it for drawing so much attention to himself. “I have a present for you Shoyo.” He handed the orange ball of sunshine a letter and promptly went to hide in Akaashi’s arms since Kuroo and Bokuto were still trying to force their affection on Tsuki.
“What..” Hinata started, but immediately stopped as he continued to read. He looked up in wonder at Kenma, “Kenma..” he stopped again as tears started to fill his eyes. Tsukishima immediately pulled himself away from the annoying cat and owl to see why his boyfriend appeared to be upset. “Why, I mean, how did…” Hinata seemed incapable of speech for once. Kei took the letter from his hands and began to read it. Tobio crowded him trying to see what it said while Tadashi rubbed his hand along Shoyo’s back.
“What does it say Kei?” Tadashi asked him as Hinata began to get himself more under control.
“You’re going to sponsor him?” Kei asked almost incredulously.
“Yes,” Kenma said matter of factly. “Call it payback for all of your help with my channel and my company. It’s not a lot so you will need to subsidize some of your income with another job, but it should help you not have to work nearly as often.” He smiled at one of the few people who saw him and cared for him just as he was. “But, if you ever stop being interesting, I will drop you.” He told the former decoy.
“I’ll never be boring Kenma, thank you,” Hinata told him.
“What’s all this crying about?” Shouted a familiar voice, “You all just graduated, what is there to be upset about?” Their former vice-captain asked, coming up to them.
“Suga, maybe they’re crying from happiness,” Asahi suggested shyly.
“Suga! Daichi! Asahi!” Hinata shouted with joy. He still hadn’t told his former teammates that he was going to Brazil and had been worried he wouldn’t get the chance till he was gone.
“Ugh, right in my ear Shrimp,” Tsukishima complained, but he also smiled down at his shorted boyfriend and his excitement. He understood why Shoyo was excited.
“Kenma is sponsoring Hinata while he’s in Brazil,” Tadashi explained to their old Senpai.
“Oh and there’s this,” Kenma said, tossing a phone at Shoyo who caught it on instinct. “It has an international plan so you can call us without having to pay a million yen.” Akaashi smiled down at his shy, kindhearted boyfriend. He knew Kenma was doing this because if one of them had to go long distance like the Karasuno four he would want a way to contact them.
“Thank you Kenma,” Hinata said sincerely.
“Why would you need an international plan?” Suga asked.
“Maybe because he’s going to another country?” Daich deduced. Going to the police academy had not only improved his thighs but also his intellect.
“Yeah, I meant to tell everyone but I didn’t quite know how…” Hinata started, but was cut off by,
“Rolling THUNDER!” Announced the arrival of Nishinoya, Tanaka, Kiyoko, and Yachi.
“How to tell us what?” Ennoshita asked, having walked up with Narita and Kinoshita.
“I’m going to Brazil!” Hinata practically shouted in a panic.
“WHAT!!!” Shouted the former club members who were not aware of Hinata’s plans.
“Yeah, yeah, the Shrimp is leaving to play in Brazil for two years while the King goes to Tokyo for his team and Tadashi and I head to university,” Tsukishima said, taking over since Hinata was panicking, Kageyama seemed to be struck again by the fact that Hinata was leaving in a few days and Yamaguci looked close to throwing up at all the attention being paid to them.
“You’re going to Brazil?” Daichi asked rather dumbly.
“Brazil as in South America Brazil?” Ennoshita echoed.
“Yeah,” Hinata said a little shyly.
“Shoyo, that's awesome! I’ll plan my next trip to South America so I can come to see you!” Noya shouted.
Hinata smiled at the thought of being able to see a familiar face in what would become his new home for two years.
“Even from the first day we met, I knew there was something special about you and I know you’re going to do some amazing things,” Suga said wiping a tear or two from his eyes. Daichi put an arm around his boyfriend’s shoulders and simply smiled proudly at his Kouhai.
“Group hug!” Tanaka shouted practically tackling the four third years. The former members of the Karasuno volleyball club all joined in. And when Takeda and Ukai came over to see their team they too were pulled into the hug. The four Tokyo boys smiled and took pictures to send to their friends. As the hug dispersed everyone, walked towards where the third years’ families were waiting to go to dinner together.
Kuroo and Bokuto continued annoying Tsuki. Tanaka and Noya badgered Hinata with questions about Brazil while Ukai and Takeda talked to Kageyama about the future Karasuno teams and attempted to convince him to come back during tryouts to get more members in the club. Yamaguci watched as his friends and boyfriends walked on.
He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over to see his former captains. “You did good, cap,” Daichi told him with pride in his voice.
“Remember when you told me I was making a mistake, putting you in charge?” Ennoshita asked him wryly. “And now look at you, third-place national champions, and boyfriends.”
Yamaguci blushed, “I still think it should have been Tobio,” He told his senpai.
“Nah, I told Ennoshita if he didn’t make you captain I would come back and make him do all the training exercises I’m doing at the academy,” Daichi told him nonchalantly.
“What, you wanted me to be captain when I was a first-year?” Yamaguci asked incredulously.
“Of course, you’re the only one capable of holding them together, maybe in more ways than one,” Daichi said thoughtfully. “You’re the only one unaffected by Tsukishima’s saltiness, you keep Hinata calm and Kageyama off balance, you were the only choice.” Daichi continued. “Though I wish you luck in keeping them under control in a relationship sense, I know what it’s like to date one chaos gremlin and it looks like you have at least two.” He smiled.
Suga turned around, as if sensing that he was being talked about, “Daichi are you being mean to me?” He accused.
“Of course not dear,” Daichi said, chuckling and running to catch up with his boyfriend.
“Yeah, I’ll tell you what I said when I handed the mantle down to you, you don’t need this, but good luck,” Ennoshita said echoing his words when he handed over the captaincy.
“You’re right, I don’t need luck, because I have them,” Yamaguci said with a surprising amount of confidence. He smiled to himself and ran to catch up with his friends and boyfriends.

Chapter Text
Today was the day they said goodbye to Shoyo for 2 whole years. Unsurprisingly Yamaguci was the one keeping it together the best. Kageyama and Tsukishima had resorted to responding in monosyllables or simple “Tschs” respectively. They had all spent the night at Hinata’s house in order to spend as much time as possible with him before he left. They talked late into the night about their plans for the coming 2 years and drafted up a schedule for phone calls and skypes and anything else they could think of to keep them all connected to one another.
Coach Washijo had met them at the airport to give Hinata a few letters for his introduction to his coaches in Brazil. He smiled warmly at the former Crow and clasped him on the shoulder. “Good luck, and don’t make me regret calling in these favors for you.” He glared a bit at the other three but when they weren’t looking he gave a small smile knowing that having such supportive friends would ease the homesickness the boy was sure to feel in a country that was not his own. He stepped away to give the Hinatas and their friends some time to themselves.
“Now, you have your sunscreen, and your passport and your--”
“Mom, I have more sunscreen than I could ever use, and my passport is right here in my pocket with the new wallet that Na-chan gave me,” Shoyo assured her.
“Oh, my baby, you’re all grown up now!” She shouted and grabbed him in a hug as only a Hinata can.
“Don’t leave me out!” Natsu shouted and joined in too. Hinata smiled sadly, knowing it would be a long time until he would experience another Hinata clan hug. As the two most important women in his life finished squeezing him, his mom leaned down.
“Go to them,” She whispered and shooed him towards his boyfriends.
He walked over to where Kageyama, Tsukishima, and Yamaguci had waited politely for him to say goodbye to his family. The three immediately pulled him into a tight group hug. Despite keeping it together earlier on, Yamaguci began to leak a tear or two as Hinata’s flight was called to board.
“Call us when you land Shrimp, so we know that you didn’t crash on some random island and were lost at sea,” Tsukishima said gruffly.
“And if you do somehow crash on a random island Boke, try to use the sunscreen your mom gave you. Red doesn’t look good with your hair.” Kageyama added.
“Both of you shut up, I know for a fact you both have an app to track his flight on your phones so if anything happens you’ll know, not that anything will happen considering plane crashes are not common.” Yamaguci scolded the two through steadily leaking tears. Hinata laughed at the three’s antics. He would surely miss seeing this, but he hoped it would all be worth it in the end.
“This is a boarding call for flight 910 to Rio de Janeiro, will all passengers please make their way to the gate,” They all heard overhead.
“This is it,” Hinata said, moving to pick up his carry-on bags.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Tsukishima stopped him from picking up his bags. “If we're not going to be in person together for 2 whole years, I think we are entitled to one last token of affection.” He smirked at the orange-haired boy, though Hinata saw the sheen of tears in his eyes.
“Yeah, what he said,” Kageyama told him, crossing his arms.
Hinata smiled tightly at the three. He knew this would happen, but he was scared that if he gave them one last kiss he would never get on the plane. However, he also wanted one last kiss to get him through what would most likely be some lonely nights in Brazil. He decided to start with Tsukishima. He had always been the toughest of them and Hinata knew the other would be able to lean on him in the future. He pulled the blonde down and gave him a fairly chaste kiss on the lips. He pulled back when he felt small droplets of water. He realized that Kei was crying, but the blonde boy waves him along. He moves next to Yamaguci whom he also intends to give a chaste kiss, but that was not Yamaguci’s plan.
Tadashi had seen the kiss Shoyo gave Kei and he was not sending one of his boyfriends off for 2 years without a solid kiss. He may have forced a bit more tongue than was technically appropriate for the public, but he was sending his boyfriend off to a foreign country for two years. Eventually, they separated and Kei pulled him into his chest while Shoyo said goodbye to Tobio.
Hinata went in for a kiss, but Tobio stopped him. “Promise me that you are not going to let up at all, and then when you get back, you are going to meet me at the top,” Tobio told him.
“I promised I would meet you at the top in our first year, and I don’t plan on going back on that promise anytime soon,” Hinata said firmly.
“Good,” Kageyama said, and then he pulled Hinata into an incredibly intense kiss, tongue and all. If Hinata was leaving for two years, Kageyama wanted to make sure that Hinata would remember him. They eventually separated at the sound of a cough from Coach Washijo.
“It is time to go, Hinata,” He told them all quietly. Hinata smiled softly at his family and boyfriends and walked towards his gate without looking back once.
“Do you think he’ll be ok?” Tadashi asks his other two boyfriends.
“I sure hope so,” Tsukishima finally answered. The group turned around and slowly made their way out of the airport
“Yeah guys, I made it safely! But I may have forgotten to put on sunscreen on my first day,” Hinata told his boyfriends over the phone.
“Is that why we are only getting a phone call and not a skype call?” Tsukishima asked wryly.
“Possibly,” Shoyo answered, laying down on his bed after closing his door. He didn’t want to disturb his roommate Pedro, especially since they were still getting to know each other. “But tell me all about move-in and your first practice Tobio!” He shouted excitedly.
“Practice was practice,” Kageyama shrugged. “I want to hear about move-in as well as your first few days, Shoyo.”
“Tsch, all we did was get sweaty and move boxes, and then we’ll go to classes where we’ll be told what’s going to happen for the next semester,” Tsukishima said with a groan.
“Oh stop it Tsukki,” Yamaguci said, and they heard a dull thump, probably Tadashi hitting Kei’s shoulder. “We did move into our dorm and we ran into some familiar faces. Koganegawa and Kunimi live on our floor, and I thought I recognized that scary Seijoh player, the one with the weirdly dyed hair?” Yamaguci told them.
“Kyotani-kun?” Hinata answered Yamaguci’s question.
“I thought he was called Mad dog?” They heard Kageyama ask seriously. They all started laughing at each other.
“Hey, has anyone heard from Shoyo recently?” Yamaguci asked on his and Kei’s weekly call with Kageyma.
“No, he missed his call with me the other day,” Kageyama told the two in Sendai. “But, he may be busy, I know I’ve had to miss a call here or there for practice, and he did say he was getting to work on some indoor skills this week, maybe he got distracted.” He told the two, but even he could hear the doubt in his voice.
“No, he’s sounded off the last few weeks,” Tsukishima said, not letting his boyfriends overthink. “It’s been 6 months, we all saw each other a few weeks ago during our break, I’m sure it’s starting to hit him how far away he is from all of us now,” Tsukishima said sadly.
The other two thought about his words. Each of them thought they knew how difficult it would be to be long-distance, but the reality was so much harder than they thought. At least they could see each other occasionally, Shoyo had no such hope of that, at least not for another 18 months.

Shoyo was feeling not at all like himself, which is to say, pretty gloomy. He missed his family and boyfriends, he was still getting lost on his delivery job, the sand was beating him everyday and he just lost the wallet Natsu had given him before he left. He knew he had missed some of his scheduled phone calls with his boyfriends, but he knew if he heard their voices it would be the straw that broke the llama’s back. Or was it alpaca? He didn’t know and he didn’t care. He would rather wallow in self-pity for just a little bit, drink some beer on the beach and watch some good beach volleyball players. He would pick himself up in a little bit and would apologize to his boyfriends for missing their call. He was just trying to remember the excuse he gave them when he heard something familiar.
That was Japanese, he was pretty sure. He put his beer down and stood up looking around. There was no way he knew the person but he wanted to hear his mother tongue from a native speaker so badly. He was turning in circles when all of a sudden he heard
“Chibi-chan?” Half questioned, half-shouted across the beach. A bunch of other people turned to look around to try and spot whatever a chibi-chan was. When Shoyo finally found the source of the Japanese and the person who referred to him by his old nickname he smiled with delight.
“Grand king!” He shouted and started sprinting across the sand to one of his old rivals. He knew from Kageyama that Oikawaa had moved to Argentina to play for a team there, but he never expected to see him in Brazil, especially on the beaches. “What are you doing here?” He asked when he got closer and bowed politely to the old Seijoh captain.
“Oh Chibi-chan no need to stand on guard,” Oikawa said, flapping his hand. “We just finished some training with a local Brazilian team and my mates wanted to check out the beach scene. The real question is what is a little crow like you doing so far from its nest?” He chuckled at his own joke.
“I’m just trying to learn everything I can,” Shoyo said, still struck slightly dumb by the fact that the Grand King was in front of him.
“Well, why don’t you show me?” Oikawa more or less commanded him.
“I don’t know Oikawa-san, the sand can be pretty unforgiving,” Shoyo told the other Japanese man.
“No way! You’re Ninja Shoyo!” One of Oikawa’s teammates yelled coming up to see who his setter was talking to. Despite Hinata being a bit down recently, he had been gaining a following as a beach player. Dubbed Ninja Shoyo by his opponents for his ability to get across the court without anyone seeing, he was becoming a well-known beach player in Rio and beyond.
“Oh, haha, I guess, I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration,” Hinata said shyly.
“Ninja Shoyo?” Oikawa questioned his teammate since he could tell Hinata wouldn’t elaborate on it.
“Yeah, he’s getting pretty big on the beaches here because he’s wherever you don’t expect him and he’s fast,” Oikawa’s teammate chattered on.
“Looks like Chibi-chan is making a name for himself beyond his Chibi-ness,” Oikawa teased gently, “Why don’t you show me some moves Ninja Shoyo,” Oikawa challenged him.
And, being the tenacious crow that he was, Hinata couldn’t back down from the unspoken challenge coming from one of his former rivals. The two grabbed a court and some opponents and started the first of many games they would play together over the next few days. Every afternoon Oikawa and some of his teammates would show up and play beach both with and against the Ninja Shoyo. Every evening the group would go out and eat and drink together and Hinata received a little taste of home for the first time in several months. Every time he went to pay he was immediately turned down, Oikawa and the others said it was the least they could do since he was teaching them beach skills and a bit of humility.
“C’mere Sho, the world deserves to see what we’ve been up to the last few days,” Oikawa said after their last match of the day. Hinata bounded up to him and stuck his tongue out for the selfie Oikawa was taking. “So did the King finally man up and ask you out before you left or are you doing the long-distance pining thing right now?” Oikawa asked nonchalantly.
Hinata sputtered at the question. He’d been avoiding thinking about his boyfriends since he saw Oikawa-san a few days ago, but the question he’d been asked brought them to the front of his mind. Hinata missed them. He knew it would be hard to be away from everyone and everything he loved but the past six months had really tested his resolve. Having Oikawa around had sort of numbed all the pain that had been building but now that he was thinking about them again he felt pinpricks of tears at the corners of his eyes.
“Hey, Chibi-chan do I need to put a hit out on my old kohai? I may not know people but I know people who know people,” Oikawa said as soon as he saw the tear in Shoyo’s eyes. Shoyo looked up at him with wide eyes at that statement.
“No, no need to do that Oikawa-san, I just really miss him,” He said quietly. Oikawa tugged Hinata along the beach to a less populated area, he grabbed two drinks from a vendor and sat down next to Shoyo.
“Talk to me, I bet it’s been hard being here on your own,” Oikawa told the tangerine, he understood leaving home and going somewhere new better than anyone.
“I just miss Kageyama and Yamaguci and even stupid Tsukishima and I miss Natsu and my mom and ugh, I miss food so much, I haven’t found a single place with good meat buns in all of Rio and its so unfair,” Hinata finally let lose his frustrations and sadness.
“Yeah, I remember moving to Argentina and trying to find a place with decent milk bread, I finally had to call my sister and have her teach me how to make it myself,” Oikawa mused. He knocked shoulders with Hinata to try and lighten his mood. “Wait, you miss that blonde four-eyed middle blocker? I swear he tormented you and Kageyama even more than I did?” Oikawa said after a minute.
“That’s just how he shows he cares, granted it did take him a while to warm up to us, but now I know he only does it out of love,” Shoyo answered without thinking. Then his eyes widened, realizing he may have just outed his relationship to one of his boyfriend's former rivals. The four were still keeping things quiet to avoid the spotlight.
“Hold on! Shoyo, are you and Tobio dating four-eyes?” Oikawa whisper shouted. “I would have thought he was dating that pinch server.” He mused quietly. “Wait again! You said a third name which means, are you dating all your year mates?” He said in awe. How did the king manage to get sunshine incarnate, a tall sassy nerdy looking guy, and that fucking pinch server? He barely managed to get Iwa a few months ago in his off-season when he went to visit California.
“You can’t say anything Oikawa-san, we’re trying to keep it quiet since Tobio’s in the V-league and I am planning to join when I go back, not to mention Kei and Dashi want to make it through college without being the centers of attention!” Hinata shouted.
“Ok, ok, I won’t say anything. I get that it can be rough, no wonder you’re so upset when did you four officially start dating because it could not have been when I played you.” Oikawa said, he was curious and planned to tease Tobio once he got permission from Hinata. He and Kageyama had partially mended their relationship before he left for Argentina. The two occasionally texted about setting, but now he could bother the setter about his relationship and entertain himself.
“Right after nationals, so about 7-8 months ago,” Hinata said with some sadness in his voice. He had been apart from his boyfriends longer than they had been together.
Oikawa put his arm around Hinata and gave him a side hug, “No wonder you were so down when I first saw you, have you talked to them about everything?” He asked quietly.
“No, Kageyama is finally getting into the groove of playing on his team and Tsukki and Yamaguci have had exams and I just don’t want to worry them,” Hinata said leaning into the hug from Oikawa.
“If there’s anything I’ve learned about long-distance it’s that you have to communicate with your partner or things can only go poorly, and I am sure that goes triple for you since you have three others instead of one,” Oikawa pointed out.
“Yeah, seeing you and playing together helped a little but I think I’m gonna call them tonight,” Hinata said starting to rise from the sand.
“Good,” Oikawa said rising with him, “Now, give me your phone so you’ll at least have one person on the continent to complain to about the food and..” Oikawa trailed off when he saw the incoming call on the phone, the contact said ‘Blueberry’. He smiled and handed the phone back to Shoyo, “ You may want to answer that”
“Kageyama,” Hinata said quietly as he answered the phone,
“SHOYO! What are you doing with Oikawa-senpai!” Oikawa heard through the phone. He smiled to himself and then wondered how the heck Kageyama knew he was with the Tangerine. He opened his phone as Hinata walked a little ways away to calm his boyfriend down. When he opened Twitter he saw his picture with Hinata was trending across South America and it looks like it had made its way to Japan where his old teammate Makki and Mattsun had done the lord’s work and memed it to hell.
“Tobio, I promise to do a skype call with you and Kei and Dashi as soon as I get home, I’m sorry for skipping out the last week or so. Oikawa made me realize some things and I should have talked to you guys about how I was struggling, but I promise tonight, ok?” Oikawa heard the tail end of their conversation, “Ok, I-I love you!” Hinata shouted into the receiver and hung up immediately.
“Never said ‘I love you’ to them?” Oikawa asked with a smirk.
“Not explicitly,” Hinata muttered. “Oikawa, thank you for these last few days and for helping me with everything” He vaguely gestured around himself.
“Of course, anything for my kohai’s partner, just let me know when you four are good because I heard Tobio call me senpai and I will never let him live that down,” Oikawa said with a smile.
“Will do, but go easy on him, he’s still a little sensitive,” Hinata warned. He hugged Oikawa tightly before he turned to head home, “I’ll see you tomorrow Grand King, last day for the sand to kick your ass!” He shouted with a brighter smile than Oikawa had seen all week.
“See you tomorrow Chibi-chan,” Oikawa said with a wave and walked back to meet up with some of his teammates.
“Hi, I’m sorry for avoiding you guys for the last week,” Hinata stopped for a second, then continued on. “I really, really, really miss you guys and everyone else and home in general and it’s just been a bad week and I know how busy you all have been and I didn’t want to be sad or make you guys sad or” He was cut off by Tsukkishima.
“Hey, Shoyo, it’s ok. We may call you our Sunshine, but we know you can’t be happy all the time and we don’t expect it. Just I wish you would have talked to us, I personally was dying a little bit because I hadn’t seen you or heard from you in so long.” He told the tangerine showing an unusual amount of emotion.
“It’s ok Sho, none of us can understand how hard it’s been for you and I wish we could hug you through the screen but that’s not possible right now,” Yamaguci added, rubbing Kei’s back. The two were together since they shared a dorm and everything.
“I miss you so much Shoyo. Especially whenever I play, I keep looking for you on the court and none of these other hitters compare.” Kageyama told him seriously.
Hinata was openly crying now, he missed them all so much, and he was cursing himself for making this decision but he also knew he wouldn’t go back and change it either. “It’s just been hard, I miss seeing you all, but I also miss hearing Japanese and playing on solid ground, and don’t get me started on the food here. There are no restaurants that make meat buns.” He said, trying to lighten the mood. The other three chuckled at him through tears of their own.
Kageyama attempted to lighten the mood further and brought up the viral selfie, “How did you manage to find Oikawa-san?”
“Actually he found me, his team has been doing some training here and they came to check out the beach so we played together and he and his team have been really nice and they’ve hung out with me to try to cheer me up. Oikawa is actually the one who convinced me to talk to you guys,” Hinata told them.
“Wait, how did the King know the shrimp was with the Grand King?” Tsukki questioned them.
“Yeah, Yamayama, how did you know I was with Oikawa?” Hinata asked him.
“It’s all over Twitter, I was checking because my manager made me post about our upcoming matches, something about social media engagement,” Tobio answered succinctly.
“Holy shit Sho! You’re trending!” Yamaguci shouted after checking his phone.
“How did the most social media illiterate person find this out before you Dashi,” Tsukki teased.
“I’ve been studying Tsukki, and you took my phone,” Tadashi argued.
Hinata smiled to himself, he may be sad he couldn’t be near his boyfriends but seeing them and talking to them was making him feel loads better. He knew that he still had more time in Brazil but he was determined to make every second count so that when he returned to them in Japan he would be the best volleyball player he could be and then he would be the best boyfriend he could be.

So the timeline for all of this is 100% in my head and not on paper and while it follows major canon plot points it won't follow exactly.

Chapter Text
Shoyo was bouncing so much he felt like that tiger character from that book about a million acres forest or something, but he couldn’t contain himself! 2 of his 3 boyfriends would soon be in the same city as him! Kageyama was coming with the Japanese men’s Olympic volleyball team for the Olympics! And Tsukishima was coming as well because he had some time off from school and it was a present from his mother and brother.
Tsukki’s family found out about their relationship about a week in when his brother Akiteru walked in on the four of them cuddling up and watching Jurassic Park at Kei’s insistence since neither Shoyo nor Tobio had ever seen the American dinosaur movie. After seeing the first one though, they insisted on watching all the other films because they were fascinated with the dinosaurs and Jeff Goldblum. Aki almost started crying because he believed his brother would never man up and confess to Yamaguci much less two other boys, so he was more than happy to contribute to a trip for his brother to see his boyfriend.
Sadly, Yamaguci could not make it due to extra coursework he was taking for university as well as a part-time job he had picked up. He regretted not being able to see his boyfriend, but he also knew he did not need this trip nearly as much as Kei and Tobio. Tadashi and Shoyo were probably the most in touch with their emotions out of the four. Shoyo because he felt everything so strongly and never hid it. Tadashi was less expressive but felt just as strongly and always contemplated his feelings. This led to the two of them having a stronger foundation and far more faith and trust in one another. Not that Kei and Tobio did not trust the others, it was just a little shakier, they were both more ready for something to go wrong due to their past experiences. This trip would help them feel a bit more secure in their relationship with Shoyo and would hopefully tide them over for the next six months until he would be back home with them.
Shoyo could hardly believe he had been in Brazil for a year and a half. Sure he still got lost making deliveries and he sometimes butchered the language so badly that the shopkeepers would shake their heads at him, but he had grown so much. He was no longer Hinata Shoyo, he was Ninja Shoyo, the sneakiest, fastest player on the beach courts! His opponents could never figure out where he would attack from next, and his teammates were always a bit in shock at the height of his jumps the first time they played together. Hinata now had a steady partner in Heitor, and a good relationship with his fiance Nice and his roommate Pedro. In fact, Pedro had teased him before he left to meet the others at the airport to put a sock on the door if he planned to have them over. Shoyo’s face was bright red as he ran out the door thinking about that.
Obviously, he hadn’t been getting any action since he moved to Brazil, though he had many offers from men and women on and off the courts. He knew that Tsukki and Yamaguci had probably gone further but they lived together in their dorm and had moved into an apartment together after their first year. He had no idea if Tobio had joined them. Not that he cared, he told them before he left not to stop if it felt right, he didn’t want to be a cock block from across the world. But he couldn’t help but feel a little lonely at night sometimes when got back from delivering food or a late game on the beach. He wasn’t sure if anything would happen this trip since Tobio would be busy with Olympics stuff, and he had a packed schedule for Tsukishima. Between showing him all the best spots in Brazil as well as playing plenty of volleyball he knew the dinosaur nerd would be pretty tired, after all his boyfriends always told him how hard he was to keep up with.
As if he had a homing device telling him they were close, he picked his head up to see his two boyfriends walking towards him. Kageyama had gotten special permission to show up early to see his boyfriend, but in one day he would belong to Team Japan and the Olympics. Shoyo sprinted to the two and almost tackled Kei to the ground in his excitement (he knew better than to potentially injure his Olympian boyfriend).
“Sho, I get you missed us but can you let me breathe?” Tsukishima teased while squeezing Hinata tighter.
“Absolutely not you dinosaur nerd! I haven’t been able to touch you guys in over a year!” Hinata shouted, much to his boyfriend’s embarrassment. Both Tobio and Kei were blushing at his language, even though very few people around could understand them. Shoyo immediately turned to Tobio and gave him a huge hug too. “Come on! Let’s get your stuff and go! I have so much to show you before you leave me!” He practically shouted at them and dragged them to the baggage claim.
“You have too much energy for it being so early,” Kei complained but allowed his much shorter boyfriend to drag him across the airport. He knew it went against his typical image but he could not stop smiling at finally seeing his boyfriend after over a year and a half. Tobio was able to keep his smile a little less obvious due to his media training but he too was excited to see Shoyo after so long. He was close with both Kei and Tadashi but he and Shoyo had always had a special connection.
Hinata slowed down to smile at the two of them, he hadn’t let himself imagine what it would be like to have his boyfriends here with him, he knew he would burst from joy and he had volleyball to play and food to deliver, but now he could finally bask in the presence of two of the three loves of his life. Tobio had not commented on his slip up after he went viral on Twitter but Hinata had plenty of time to stew about saying “I love you” to Tobio, and seeing both him and Kei affirmed in his mind how much he wanted to say those words to all of his boyfriends. But he decided he would wait, it was not fair to not be able to say it to all three boys at the same time. Plus he was banking on some serious cuddling and possibly more once he confessed his love. Sue him, he was touch starved for his boyfriends.
The three grabbed the luggage and made their way out into the bright Brazilian sun to hail a cab. They made their way to the hotel that Kei would be staying in for the rest of the trip, and where Tobio would stay until the next day when he would meet up with Team Japan. Both boys were a little jet-lagged and would love to do nothing more than take a nap and cuddle their tangerine boyfriend, but Hinata had planned a lot for the two to see in the short time the three of them would have together.
Tsukishima knew that if he didn’t shut Hinata up preemptively then the former middle would begin to chatter and they would be off into the streets of Rio. So, the second the three got to the room Kei dropped his bags and shoved Shoyo against the door, and kissed his shortest boyfriend for the first time in over a year. It was both heaven and hell, Kei dominated the kiss due to his size, but Shoyo more than made up for his smaller stature with passion. After all, Kei and Tobio had been able to see each other and Tadashi several times over the past year, while Hinata had been all by his lonesome.
Shoyo steadily made ground in the kiss, stroking Kei’s neck to bring small groans out of the blonde, as soon as he opened his mouth Hinata plunged his tongue in and finally tasted his boyfriend who was far less salty than you would think. Kei in an effort to gain back control lifted Hinata by his thighs and pushed him against the wall. He couldn't help but stroke those strong legs that had only gotten larger and more muscled in the time they had been apart. While the former middle blockers were battling for dominance, a battle Kei refused to lose, Tobio was getting a little hot under the collar. He could imagine himself quite easily in either position. Kei was one of the few people who had ever made him feel small, and Shoyo was the person who made him feel bigger than life itself.
In the past year, he had become even more physical with Yamaguci and Tsukishima, more so than he ever thought he would be with Shoyo gone. He had assumed before his partner left he would stick to mostly kissing his other two boyfriends, he wanted to share his firsts with Shoyo. But, being a professional athlete, an Olympian, leads to a lot of pressure. After visiting his boyfriends in college after his first professional match where he was the starting setter, he realized some of the best ways to reduce that pressure was sex. While he had yet to cross the finish line in either direction, he considered himself to be an everything butt virgin (pun wholly intended there). Kageyama liked to be the very best at what he does whether that is setting or sex, and neither Tadashi nor Kei had any complaints about him. Tobio would love nothing more than to show off his newfound oral skills to Shoyo and rack up yet another win for their tally, but he knew Hinata would be really disappointed if they didn’t do what the orange-haired boy had planned for them. So, with great reluctance, he coughed to get the two’s attention while also stepping forward to separate them if need be.
Shoyo was in complete and total Nirvana at this point. Tsuki, the extremely tall and well-endowed salt shaker had him pressed between the wall and something he very much wanted to explore right this second. And, he knew that Kageyama was not that far away from him either. Shoyo very much enjoyed his night between Kenma and Bokuto a few years back and he knew it would be even more incredible with the people he loved. He rocked his hips forward against Kei, silently begging for more contact, and finally submitted to his favorite dinosaur nerd. Shoyo knew he could never win a battle of dominance with Tsuki, but he enjoyed trying. He and Pedro had taken a kink quiz online as a bonding experience, and it was no surprise to him that he scored very high under the brat category. He stopped for a second when he heard Kageyama cough. He immediately pulled away from Kei and started mentally mapping the route to the closest pharmacy in case Tobio needed cough medicine. Tsukishima wasn’t even phased and started kissing down Shoyo’s neck. Hinata moaned involuntarily when Kei kissed back up and sucked at a spot right under his ear that he would swear was connected directly to his dick.
“I know I want to get my hands on you Sho, but if I do I swear the three of us will not leave this room until tomorrow,” Kageyama said once he had Hinata’s attention. He knew the only one capable of swaying Tsukishima from his chosen course was Shoyo and his big doe eyes. Hinata wanted to remain in the embrace of his tallest boyfriend, but he did have a lot planned for today so he resigned himself to waiting just a little bit longer to finally have at least one of his boyfriends in him. He pulled Kei’s head from where it was currently buried giving him all sorts of marks and bruises that he knew he would be made fun of for on the courts.
“Kei, I want to keep going but we only have a day with Tobio and I want to show you both my Rio,” he said softly, using his eyes in only the way he could. Tsukishima knew he was being manipulated but he also knew he could deny Hinata nothing, not when he hadn’t seen the shrimp in over a year and especially not when he used those eyes of his.
“Fine, but we need to get out of here now before I say ‘fuck it' and take you right here like I’ve been dreaming of,” he growled lowly, letting Hinata down and opening the door. Hinata was flushed and looked like he was about to cave to his own base desires, but before he could Tobio pushed him out the door.
“Let’s go, you said you’d show us your Rio,” Kageyama said with a smile.
“Of course, but first,” Hinata smiled up at his favorite setter (don’t tell Kenma) and he went up on his tiptoes to kiss the blueberry hello. Shoyo knew Kageyama was still not the most comfortable with PDA, but they were in a deserted hallway so he figured it was fine. The two kissed slowly at first, rememorizing each other’s patterns and little quirks, but Kageyama had gotten much better at kissing in the last year and as soon as Shoyo gave a little moan he took advantage and deepened their connection. Before they could go much further the two were yanked apart.
“Hey, hey, hey! If I can’t finally have sex with my boyfriend, you cannot go kissing him into oblivion,” Tsukishima told Kageyama, “look at him, at this rate, you will have killed all of his brain cells and we will get lost in the streets of Rio and Tadashi will be so mad!” Despite his slightly angry tone he had a deep blush on his face, obviously turned on by the sight of his two boyfriends making out so casually in the hall. Hinata had a blissed-out look on his face but slowly came too by the end of Tsukishima’s rant.
“I’ll have to tell Bokuto and Kuroo they’ve rubbed off on you with all their ‘hey, hey, heys!’” Hinata teased the salt shaker.
“You do that and I will make sure you have blue balls for the rest of this trip. The King here has learned a few things that I know you’ll enjoy, but only if you keep your mouth shut” Tsukishima commanded. “Now show us Rio.”
The three walked out of the hotel, all frustrated but all completely excited to see where the day would take them.

Chapter Text
Shoyo had never seen Rio so busy! Of course with the Olympics everything was super crazy, he still didn’t know how he had managed to get some time off from his job, he just knew the restaurant would be slammed with deliveries. He grabbed both Kei’s and Tobio’s hands and led them off into the city. They immediately stopped at a street stand for some Biscoito Globo and iced mate, a staple for Rio and Shoyo.
“It reminds me a little bit of matcha,” Shoyo told the other two when they looked at him in question. “And the globo is so good after a long beach match!”
“Tell me, Ninja, will we get to see you play while we’re here?” Kei asked slyly. He was very excited to see his tiniest boyfriend playing the sport all four of them loved. He was so excited to see how much Hinata had improved and he had some big questions for his former teammate.
“I mean there are always games happening on the beach but my usual partner and his fiance are doing a dinner tonight so he’ll be unavailable,” Shoyo started rambling about how Heitor and Nice had met and the food they had introduced him to and some of their more interesting matches.
Tobio smiled at Hinata, it had been so long since he had heard the orange-haired boy ramble on about volleyball and just life in general. He had missed this so much and he was so excited that in six months this could happen so much more often.
Neither Kei nor Tobio had been paying too much attention to where they were going, enamored as they were by their boyfriend. So it was quite a surprise when they finally stepped off the bus they had gotten on, to see one of the most famous landmarks in South America, Christ the Redeemer. Shoyo smiled at their twin looks of shock. Since their flight had gotten in so early and they were only minorly delayed in their hotel room, they had gotten to the statue a little bit before the normal crowds.
“I couldn’t not start us off here, since it is the most famous spot in Rio, I’m pretty sure Yamaguci would kill me if I didn’t show you both,” Shoyo told them. He remembered the first time he came to this statue. When he first got to Rio he was lonely and very sad, he did not know the language well and he kept getting lost when he remembered the book Tadashi had given him before he left for Brazil. It had a bunch of information about the country as well as some of the best spots to visit. He opened it to a random page and landed on the Christ the Redeemer statue.
His boss at the delivery shop and Pedro gave him advice about when it was best to go, so the next day instead of being sad in his room, he got up early and ran to the statue. He got lost a few times but because he looked foreign and spoke with a pretty thick accent people assumed he was going to the statue as a tourist and gave him directions pretty easily. He finally reached the spot a little after sunrise and was in absolute awe of the world below him. He immediately facetimed Tadashi just to show him where he was. Luckily Sendai was only 12 hours ahead so Yama wasn’t in class. Shoyo was not ashamed to admit he was openly crying at how beautiful it was. And whenever things seemed tough, he remembered that moment, that beauty, and he pushed through.
“We have to get a picture, for Tadashi, and then we’ll recreate it the next time we all come here!” He told the two excitedly.
Tobio blushed at the implication that the four of them would come back to Brazil, which meant they would be together that long. Not that he was planning to break up with the others, but the confidence with which Shoyo said that was strong.
Kei too was thinking of a future where the four of them traveled regularly to different countries. He imagined Shoyo speaking Portuguese to get them places. He got a little horny thinking about how hot Hinata had sounded speaking the foreign language to the street vendor. He would definitely need Tadashi’s help to make sure the two volleyball heads took breaks and vacations and did NOT spend the entire time competing with each other. He smiled, excited for the future. That smile soon turned into a frown when he realized he would be expected to be in pictures not only for Tadashi, but also for his family.
“Fine, but only one and I am not doing anything stupid,” he told his smallest boyfriend.
He had to do something stupid for the picture. Shoyo and Tobio made him take a picture posing exactly the same way as the statue behind them. Shoyo had approached a Brazilian couple and offered to take their picture in exchange for taking one of him and his boyfriends. The couple was happy to agree and even asked him for some advice on where to eat.
After the photo Shoyo, Tobio, and Kei made their way back into the streets of Rio. Kei swore they had seen everything in the last few hours. They stopped at a small local cafe for lunch and had some of the best foreign food Kei had ever had. They explored all sorts of shops filled with local goods, some of which would be making their way home with the two boys as souvenirs for their family and other boyfriend.
Finally, Hinata led them to the apartment he shared with Pedro, who had just gotten off his shift. He seemed to have teased Shoyo because the shrimp’s face was suddenly red as a strawberry. Pedro waved goodbye to the three as he headed back out to grab dinner with some of his friends, promising to see the three of them on the beach later.
“Yeah,” Shoyo said scratching the back of his neck, “this is our place, it’s not a lot but we’ve had some fun drinking, watching movies, and just hanging out.”
Kei wandered further into the rooms and looked at everything, there were tons of masks and pictures and a few volleyballs laying around. “What are the masks for?” Tobio asked, very confused.
“It’s for this awesome festival called Carnival!” Shoyo exclaimed excitedly. “It’s basically a huge street fair, there’s so much food and dancing and you have to wear a mask because you just have to!” He told them. He began to regale them with stories of the first Carnival he went to where he drank with Pedro and then the two got lost. But luckily they found Heitor by accident and ended up ok.
Kei smiled and then walked over to where Shoyo’s room was. All over the walls were pictures of them. From first year to when he moved, pictures featuring their team, some of just Hinata and Kageyama, some of all four from when they first got together, and plenty of screenshots from the facetimes and video messages they shared. There were also some of the Tokyo four and their friends from other teams but Karasuno and his boyfriends were the main feature.
Shoyo had walked in behind a stupefied Kageyama. “I didn’t want to forget what anyone looked like,” he told Kei honestly. “Two years is a long time, I know that but I never want to forget your faces, we’ve come so far.” He told the two.
Tobio was the first to turn around, incredibly emotional at the display of his boyfriend’s love. He dove in for a passionate kiss and refused to let up. He wanted to convey all his feelings and may have gone a bit too far but rather than back away Hinata was spurred on.
The two continued their makeout session until Hinata gasped in surprise when he felt lips sucking hard enough to bruise his neck. “Don’t go getting the little one all worked up now Tobio, what if he has more to show us?” Kei said, smirking at the raven who had opened his eyes but had not quit kissing Shoyo. He pulled away, a trail of spit between the two of them. Hinata whined as Kei sucked another bruise into his skin.
“Well Sho, do you have anything else to show us?” Tobio asked him, lust-filled eyes looking the smaller man up and down.
Shoyo continued to whine as Kei moved up and down his neck. “Use your words,” Kei commanded him.
Shoyo’s brat side immediately came out at the demand from his blonde boyfriend, “What if I said, this dick?” He asked saucily.
“Then I would say we both have been waiting all fucking day,” Kei said picking him up and tossing him on the small bed. “Be careful what you wish for shrimp,” Kei said with a toothy grin. He locked the bedroom door behind him and joined the other two on the bed.

This is a little shorter than normal but I am super excited for the next chapter, please try to guess who will show up!
Chapter Text
Things were getting pretty heated considering all three boys were in some state of undress. Tobio had been waiting for this pretty much since the four boys got together, and Kei wasn’t ashamed to admit that he had had a few hate fuck fantasies about Shoyo when they were first years. However, before the two taller boys could really get going there was a very loud knock on the front door.
“Yahoo! Chibi-chan you better not be too busy doing someone to open the door!” A voice called out as the three froze.
“Sho, why the fuck is Tooru Oikawa at your door?” Tsukki asked his smallest boyfriend.
“The better question is why the fuck does he know where you live, boke?” Kageyama said with just a hint of venom.
“Uhh..” Hinata didn’t really have an answer for the two.
“Chibi-chan if you do not answer the door I will call Ko-chan and Dai-chan and tell on you,” Oikawa teased.
“Fuck!” Tobio whispered shouted, eyes going wide and immediately backing away from the other two.
“Of all the times for your daddy and mommy issues to rear their heads it had to be now?” Kei questioned him, slowly putting his clothes back on. The moment was ruined and he knew there was no hope of salvaging it.
“I do not-” Tobio tried to defend himself.
“Babe, I love you but you called Daichi dad by accident way too many times to me and at least twice to his face,” Hinata said with a giggle. He went to open the front door in only his boxers, leaving his two boyfriends to sort themselves out in his room.
“Chibi-chan! I missed you!” Oikawa shouted, pulling him into a hug. “How was it?” He teased the orangette.
“I wouldn’t know Kawa, you interrupted us,” Hinata said with a false pout. He was sad that their time alone together had been cut short but he was also happy to see one of his friends after so many months apart. He knew there would be plenty of time for the three of them to be together and he was honestly glad that they weren’t going to sleep together for the first time in a room with a practical shrine built to them.
“Ooh, I seem to have caught you just in time then,” Oikawa teased him, “nice hickeys,” he attempted to get a rise out of the tiny crow, but considering Shoyo spent so much time half-naked on a beach he wasn’t too embarrassed.
“Really?” Tsukishima finally came into the room, pulling on his shirt and tossing one to Hinata.
“Chibi, you have been holding out on me, who knew your string bean of a blocker was so buff?” Oikawa said after whistling.
Kei had come up behind Shoyo and wrapped his arms around the shorter man’s stomach and rested his chin on his shoulder, “Can you get rid of the trash Sho? I was enjoying myself,” he said deadpan while looking straight at Oikawa.
“I mean considering how large his ego is, Sho would definitely need our help,” Tobio said finally exiting Hinata’‘s room fully dressed.
“Hmph,” Oikawa pouted at the two former Karasuno members. “Wait until I tell Ko-chan and Dai-chan,”
Tobio almost reconsidered his statement, as he still respected his former senpai and had an immense amount of respect for his former Captain and Vice-Captain. But then he remembered how close he had been to finally being inside the boy he had been dreaming of for so long and shrugged.
“I highly doubt they will care for your dramatics,” Kei told him, nuzzling into Hinata’s neck. The orange crow giggled at the tickling sensation.
“Fine, I won’t sic mom and dad on the three of you, but I demand repayment,” Oikawa decreed.
“Repayment for what? Ruining our night?” Tsukki asked him.
“Repayment for emotional damages,” Oikawa declared turning his nose up. Hinata laughed at the grand king’s attitude.
“Fine, let me get my pants on and we’ll go to the beach,” Shoyo declared. And, with a little attitude, the four boys left the apartment.
“They just sell beer here?” Tobio asked in wonder.
“Yes King, this is a place that people like to vacation, you know to relax and not play volleyball,” Kei teased the setter.
“But volleyball is relaxing?” Tobio questioned the blonde. Kei sighed when he saw the other two members of their group also giving him a questioning look.
“You all are monsters,” he said with exasperation, “mine,” he said, taking the beer from Tobio.
The raven-haired setter wasn’t overly mad about it considering he shouldn’t even be drinking in the first place. He just stole a swig from the water bottle Shoyo had brought with them when they left the apartment.
Oikawa and Shoyo shared a look, “Absolutely not, two of you have the Olympics coming up,” Shoyo immediately said.
“Come on Chibi, I bet you’ve been dying to show off to your mans,” Oikawa whined.
“No,” Hinata said resolutely. Kei was more than a little shocked at Hinata turning down the opportunity to play volleyball. After all, the man lived and breathed the sport, hell he had moved halfway across the world for it. To see him saying no had the blonde worried.
“Besides, I want you to be surprised when you see me,” Hinata said looking at his two boyfriends. “I know how much you both believe in me, but I’m not quite ready for you guys to see me yet.” He told the two sincerely. Tobio seemed to understand immediately, that weird rivalry thing must keep the two idiots connected somehow. But Kei decided to bend to his boyfriend’s wishes, for now. He overheard a few locals talking about the four of them and they kept saying the words Ninja Shoyo, he turned away from the conversation for a moment to note the title so he could look it up later. Sue him, he didn’t like surprises.
The four continued down the beach, the two not participating in the games drinking beer while the two athletes consumed water. They were impressed with the caliber of the players on the sand and Kei wanted nothing more than to see his boyfriend shine, but he knew he would have to wait for now.

Chapter Text
Tadashi was enjoying all the pictures and commentary that Tsukki was sending in both their group chat and privately. He immediately printed out the picture of his three boyfriends in front of Christ the Redeemer and giggled at Tsukki’s complaints about Oikawa Tooru. He was sad to miss out on seeing Sho and getting to have some time off but he also didn’t mind being on his own for a week.
Despite the fact that he had followed Tsukki around ever since the two met, he still liked his alone time. He loved his boyfriends, truly, and nothing beat living with Tsukki, but it was nice to be on his own, cook and eat what he wanted and play his music as loud as it could go. Plus the time off from school would give him a chance to look into an apartment for the 2/4 of them. In just 6 months Shoyo would be back, here or wherever he ended up playing professionally and they would need more space than just their dorm room. Plus they would be in their third year of university and while it wasn’t super crazy to still be living in the dorms he would appreciate some space from the first years.
“Yamaguci!” Yachi called his name running up to meet him. The two were apartment hunting together. He hated to use her for this purpose but people tended to like a more traditional couple, and she had actually asked him for help as well as she and her girlfriend, Kanoka, were also trying to get their own place so really it was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
“I’m so sorry I’m late, but my shoes weren’t where I left them and Kanoka left her uniform in my room and she needed that before practice and..” Yachi would have continued rambling until she was red in the face if Yamaguci hadn’t stopped her by shaking her shoulders.
“It’s fine, I may have told you 10 minutes early in case something happened,” he said sheepishly. Despite having managed their rowdy boys' volleyball team in high school she could never quite seem to manage herself timewise.
“Oh,” she said, then slapped him on the arm when it finally processed that he had tricked her. “You’re so mean! Now show me the pictures that they’ve sent you, I want to see Hinata!” She said as they walked from their meeting spot to their first set of apartments.
He dutifully pulled up the pictures he had received thus far of the three boys that were abroad. He noticed a really good one of Shoyo with his eyes closed, the sunset in the background as he sat on the beach. It was quite artsy for Tsukki. Yachi oohed and aahed at the pictures appropriately.
“Do you miss them?” She asked.
“With my whole heart,” he told her. She hugged his arm and they continued on their quest to find the perfect place for themselves and their significant others.
Shoyo had refused to let their group stay out too late, considering two of the boys would begin their first Olympics in the morning. It was quite funny to Kei that the most energetic of their group was encouraging them to sleep, but considering he would finally have two of his three boyfriends in bed, one of whom he hadn’t seen in a year and a half, he helped convince the others.
They walked Oikawa to his hotel where he bid them goodnight, claiming that he probably wouldn’t see Tobio again because Japan would lose far before Argentina. It really impressed Kei that Tobio didn’t even respond, then again the younger setter looked like he was about to fall asleep on his feet. Jet lag really was a bitch.
Kei had big plans for the second they walked into the hotel room. That is until he too succumbed to jet lag. He took solace in the fact that he would finally get to sleep in a big enough bed for himself Tobio and Shoyo and he dreamed of sunshine on sand and shouts of “mine” as they played volleyball all together once again.
Tobio had to wake up early to meet the rest of the Japanese Men’s National Team at the airport so they could drive to the hotel together. He wanted to stay with his boyfriends, but this was the life of a professional athlete. The three boys packed his stuff and went with him to the airport. Shoyo was shocked to recognize some of the team.
“Hinata Shoyo of the concrete, what are you doing here?” Ushijima Wakatoshi asked him bluntly. Or maybe it was just how he was, the man had not changed too much from high school.
“I live here, for now,” Shoyo told him proudly.
“I hope you return to Japan soon, I would like a rematch,” the opposite hitter told him and then walked to join the rest of his team.
“How?” Tsukki asked him.
“How what?” Shoyo asked genuinely confused.
“Never mind,” Tsukki said. Then he pulled Tobio into a heartfelt kiss. “You better kick that stupid grand king’s ass,” he muttered and stepped away to give Shoyo and Tobio a moment to themselves. He knew it would not be their last here in Brazil, but this was different. Both, while rivals, wanted to play on the same team again representing their country. Tobio was there, he was just waiting.
“You better be with me at the next one of these,” he told Shoyo.
“Be careful what you wish for Tobio-chan, I’ll run you ragged,” Shoyo teased him.
Tobio shuddered at the nickname his senpai still calls him, “Please never call me that again boke,” he said still grossed out by that nickname coming out of his boyfriends mouth. He leaned down and kissed the orange crow deeply. He only stopped when he heard the wolf whistles and howls from his teammates. He gave them all the finger, something he had learned from Kei, who was laughing at the whole spectacle. He lingered for a moment, eyeing his two boyfriends, nodded to himself, and turned around to join the rest of his team.
After a moment he turned back, “You will not run me ragged boke, if anything you will pass out before I do!” he shouted. His teammates started laughing, taking his words completely out of context. Shoyo just giggled and grabbed Kei’s hand as the two made their way back to the streets of Rio.
“Tobio-chan?” Tsukki asked him with a smirk.
“Oikawa-san bet me 1000 yen that Tobio would be too grossed out to even kiss me,” Shoyo said smiling.
“So dinner is on Oikawa tonight? Perfect!” Kei said laughing as the two continued to explore the city.
Notes:
Also for the How? that Tsukki asks Hinata it is a mixture of "how do you have friends/enemies everywhere you go?" and "How does he single you out when I'm the one who blocked him?"
I love to hear y'alls feedback so let me know what you think in the comments!

Chapter Text
Kei and Shoyo fell back against the covers, both covered in sweat and other fluids, exhausted from their latest round. The taller man had finally convinced the shorter to come back to the hotel and he was quite proud to say that the two of them went to bed well sated each night. This was the true key to conquering jet lag, sex so good you pass out and reset your body clock.
Kei groaned to himself as he thought of that. He was becoming more like the idiot duo all the time. Then he smiled because it certainly wasn’t the worst thing. It also seemed he had finally found someone who could keep up with him. Though why he was surprised that his most energetic boyfriend had the largest amount of stamina was a mystery. It just made sense that Shoyo was as insatiable as he is when it comes to sex. He would need to discreetly text Kozume to figure out just where Shoyo had learned that tongue thing.
“I don’t want you to go,” his little sunshine whined.
It was his last night in Rio. He and Shoyo had spent the week mostly together. When Shoyo was working he was getting his fill of the museums here. And, when he wasn’t working they spent that time getting in lots of practice. Volleyball practice that is. It seemed without Tobio around Shoyo was more than happy to show off his growing skills and Kei was impressed. In just 18 months his boyfriend had managed to become even stronger and he just knew the professional teams in Japan would be frothing at the mouth to sign him.
“I have a secret,” he told Shoyo. It was a surefire way to distract the man from his oncoming melancholy.
Shoyo cracked an eye open, he knew what Kei was doing and it was working. “What?”
“You have to come here for me to tell you,” Kei teased.
“But Kei, I’m so gross!” He whined
“Come here Boke,” he teased.
“Fine,” and before he knew it his arms were filled with his sunshine. “Tell me!” Shoyo demanded.
“I miss volleyball,” he told him simply.
“What?” Shoyo asked confused. How could Kei miss volleyball? He was dating two volleyball players, his roommate and most of his friends at this point were players themselves, how could he miss something he was surrounded by?
“I miss playing it,” he told the smaller man. And, it was true, if the last week spent playing beach volleyball with Shoyo had taught him anything, it was that he missed the sport a lot more than he thought he would.
“Ohhhh!” Shoyo nodded sagely like he understood, “then just start playing it again,” he said simply.
“It's not that easy,” Kei argued. Damn volleyball heads, he thought to himself.
“Yes it is Kei, if you miss it, do something about it. That’s what you did with me, right?” Shoyo teased him.
“No, I missed you, so I did you,” Kei snarked back.
“Really Kei, if you miss it, find a court, join a league, do something about it. I want to keep playing and there was no way I could if I stayed in Japan.” Sho said wisely. “I couldn’t play at the level I wanted to there, so I had to come here and I am almost at that level and soon enough I will be home with you and Tobio and Tadashi, and while I have missed you all every single day I do not regret my decision in the slightest. I don’t want you to regret anything either.” He said looking directly into the blonde’s eyes.
Kei was once again reminded of why he fell in love with one of the most annoying people he had ever met. Shoyo Hinata was inspiring, he was honest and most importantly he was earnest, he never once said something he didn’t mean, and he meant this wholeheartedly. He did not want Kei to regret anything. They smiled at each other, silently understanding that Kei would go back to Japan and he would find a team to play with.
“Now, you have to be at the airport in 8 hours, I think we have time for 2, maybe 3 more rounds?” Shoyo asked him seriously.
He laughed again, “Only 3? I know you have 4 in you.” And then he proceeded to kiss his boyfriend and flip him underneath him. He needed to get started if he was planning to get 4 rounds in

Chapter Text
Shoyo stopped. He was once again frozen in front of a TV screen at a store. Except this time, instead of showing the national high school championships and the Little Giant, it showed the Olympics and his amazing boyfriend. He watched in awe as Tobio served an ace against the Brazilian team. It didn’t mean much sadly, Japan was losing by far too much, but he loved to see his boyfriend refuse to give up.
He knew he’d be late for his delivery if he didn’t pull himself away. He let himself gaze at Tobio one more second before he pedaled off. That night he got a text.
Blueberry: I’m lost
He jerked up in bed faster than bread could pop out of a toaster. He called his boyfriend immediately.
“Kags where are you?”
“If I knew I wouldn’t be saying I was lost,” the setter slurred a bit. He described a street corner that Shoyo thankfully recognized. He shoved on his shoes and flew down the still-busy streets as fast as he could. He spotted his boyfriend leaning against the wall of a crowded bar. It was in an area with more Asian influences and Shoyo recognized a few Team Japan jerseys intermixed with Team China and Team Vietnam. It seemed the volleyball teams for the countries that were out of the tournament had decided to band together to drown their sorrows.
“Hey Sho,” Kageyama said weakly as he pushed himself away from the wall to sway towards his boyfriend.
“I saw your ace,” Shoyo told him as he hugged the man tightly.
“Wasn’t enough,” he muttered.
“Next time you’ll have me,” Shoyo said confidently.
“I better,” Kageyama told him.
“You will,” Shoyo said pulling back and placing a kiss on his lips. Tobio wasn’t content with just a peck though. He speared his hands through Shoyo’s hair and deepened the kiss. He walked himself backward and when he felt the walk at his heels he swung Shoyo around to pin him in place.
“Sho,” he muttered as he began to kiss down his boyfriend’s neck. “Please tell me you don’t live far from here?” He asked desperately.
“Tobio,” Shoyo gasped as the setter found the spot on his neck that seemed to be linked directly to his cock. “Curfew?” He asked stupidly. He couldn’t get more than a word out with the feelings that Tobio was evoking in his body.
“We’re out, no one cares,” the setter muttered as he went about reapplying the marks he was sure Kei had left on the smaller crow. The bruises were fading and he didn’t want anyone in Brazil thinking they had a chance with his boyfriend. He would make sure their territory was marked as much as possible and then in a few months when Sho moved back to Japan he, Tadashi, and Kei would make sure that no one forgot that Shoyo was theirs.
“10 min,” Shoyo gasped.
“Too far,” Kageyama muttered. He pulled back for a minute and dragged Hinata into the bar. He didn’t stop for any of his teammates and dragged his partner into one of the bathrooms. He was so glad he had broken the seal earlier in the night and found out they weren’t bathroom stalls, but individual rooms.
The two didn’t leave the room until someone started banging on the door, complaining about the toilet being in use for 30 min. The two fixed themselves up so they didn’t look quite so debauched and Shoyo opened the door. Unfortunately, his bad luck with bathrooms only continued, as standing in front of the door was Ushijima.
“You two are very loud, I hope you used protection,” he said stoically, as he pushed past them to enter the bathroom. Shoyo was frozen in place while Tobio blushed and then pulled his boyfriend to the bar to order some beer. Shoyo went to pay but Tobio stopped him.
“There’s a tab,” he informed the orange-haired man.
“Nice,” Shoyo said with a grin. Tobio was approached by a few other players throughout the night. They congratulated him on playing well and commiserated about his defeat. Eventually, Shoyo had to call it quits and head home so he could be up in time for an early practice. Tobio didn’t want him to go but promised they would meet up the next afternoon before Team Japan left the following day.
It was a bittersweet goodbye, but Shoyo knew he would be seeing them soon.
6 months later:
Shoyo stepped off the plane from Brazil and immediately shivered. The weather was so different in Brazil and he foolishly still had way too much sunscreen. He wrapped his jacket tighter around himself as he walked into the airport. He managed to only have one extra bag than he left with and he was pretty proud of himself for managing that. He was excited to see Natsu and his mom but he was even more excited to surprise his boyfriends.
He had managed to trick them all into thinking he was coming in 2 days' time and it was all thanks to Yachi. And there she was waving like a madwoman as he exited the terminal.
“Hinata!” She shouted excitedly. He smiled as he made his way to her and swept her into a hug. He had forgotten how much stronger he had gotten on the sand.
“You’re so tan and so strong!” She said looking him up and down, focusing for a moment on his legs. He blushed at her perusal. She may be gay, but she could still appreciate an attractive man. Hinata had a fan club by the time he was a third year, but now he just seemed more confident and it made him more attractive. His boyfriends would be beating people off of him with sticks, she thought internally.
“How can you tell I’m tan? I’m bundled as much as I can,” He told her.
“Wow, you grew up a little,” a voice said from their sides. “Can we please go? I don’t want to get any foreign germs,” Kiyoomi Sakusa said from driver's side of the car that was sitting idle at the curb.
“Of course! Sakusa-san, come on Shoyo, he’s the only one with a car that was free,” Yachi explained as they loaded his bags into the trunk.
“Thank you Sakusa-san,” Hinata said with a little bow, before getting into the car.
“You’re welcome, just don’t get sick in here like you did at Nationals,” the older man told him.
“It was one time!” Hinata complained.
“Once was enough,”
“Please be nice!”
“Sorry Yachi,” the two men said in unison.
“How are you Sakusa-san?” Shoyo asked.
“Doing well, I will be trying out for some teams soon I believe,” the man informed Hinata.
“Me as well! Do you have a preference?” He asked.
“Anywhere that doesn’t have Atsumu Miya,” he replied.
“Atsumu-san is trying out this year?” Hinata asked.
“No, he’s already on a team, but he refuses to tell me which,” Sakusa complained as he pulled into the apartment complex. Apparently, he and Yachi lived in the same complex and it was actually how the two of them became friends.
“The other two don’t live here right?” He asked Yachi and Hinata as he helped unload the suitcases.
“No, they live down the street,” Yachi informed him.
“Thank god, I didn’t want to be kept up by your orgy,” Sakusa said walking towards his door. “Welcome home,” he called out before slamming his door shut.
“Pleasant,” Hinata commented as they walked into Yachi’s apartment.
“He grows on you,” she said sweetly.
“Now, tell me everything. Ninja Shoyo,” she said with a smirk.

Chapter Text
Tadashi was tired after a long day of classes and work. He had just gotten a job at the electronics store not far from his shared apartment with Kei. He was excited for the coming week, if a little apprehensive about their schedule. Shoyo was supposed to land on Sunday, Tobio was coming in the morning before that to help prepare for their smallest boyfriend’s arrival and Kei had been very closed off about some super secret plans he had this evening after classes. Plus the following week he still had classes to attend and training for his new job in between hosting Shoyo and Tobio for the week. Tadashi was looking forward to crashing Yachi’s Friday evening plans and binging on takeout with her before the chaos week.
He wasn’t upset, in fact, he was giddy at the idea that Shoyo was so close to coming home. He hadn’t seen his sunshine boyfriend in almost two years. But, unlike his other boyfriends who had learned to handle social interaction, he needed lots of time to rest and recharge, and he had had very little of that recently with everything going on. A night in with one of his best friends, one who understood his need to be with others but still have quiet, would be just what he needed so he could be present when all of his boyfriends were in the same city for the first time in 2 years.
He dropped his stuff off at his own apartment and changed into something a little more casual before walking down the street to where Yachi lived. They had found apartments not far from one another, considering they all attended the same university, it made sense. He went to knock on her door when he heard shouting on the other side of it. Not just shouting, familiar shouting using sounds instead of words to describe what was happening. He quickly pulled out his key and let himself in. Right before his very eyes, standing up as he told a story about some volleyball match, was the boyfriend who was supposed to be landing in 2 days' time.
“Sho?” He gasped out. The very tanned, very muscled man turned around and Tadashi was once again struck by the ray of sunshine that his boyfriend was. That smile could stop anyone in their tracks, he knew because Shoyo had used it against him, Kei, and Tobio countless times over the years.
“Dashi!” The man shouted in surprise. He looked panicked for some reason, “You weren’t supposed to see me,” he said turning to look at Yachi.
“Oh shit,” she muttered. She had obviously forgotten about their plans to veg out and watch mind-numbing television before Sunshine Shoyo came into town.
“Your flight lands Sunday morning,” he whispered dumbly.
“Actually it landed this morning, I had my mom lie so I could surprise you,” Shoyo said sheepishly.
“You..” he sputtered out.
“Hi?” Shoyo asked with a wave.
“I hate you!” He muttered crashing into the smaller man and clutching him desperately.
“Hate you too,” Shoyo whispered.
“Yachi, you knew?” He accused the girl as he pulled away from his boyfriend.
“I picked him up from the airport and since Kanoka is visiting family he was going to stay over and then surprise you three tomorrow,” she explained quickly.
“Surprise?” Shoyo said.
“I am,” Tadashi told him before pulling him into a deep kiss.
“I don’t need to see this,” Yachi screeched before heading into her bedroom.
Tadashi didn’t care. He was preoccupied with Sho’s mouth. His lips were chapped, and the smaller man tasted of meat buns. Tadashi chuckled at the thought of Hinata forcing Yachi to stop somewhere for meat buns as soon as he landed.
“Wait,” he said pulling back at that thought. “Yachi doesn’t have a car, so how did she pick you up?”
“Her neighbor,” Hinata responded as he nosed at Tadashi’s jaw, peppering kisses up and down his boyfriend’s neck. Facetime had been good, but nothing beat seeing his boyfriend in person. He wanted to pout a little. He had grown a little taller and definitely bulked up in Brazil, but it seemed the same had happened to all of his boyfriends. He had noticed Tobio and Kei’s growth but Tadashi had also gotten taller and put some muscle on in the last two years. His hair was long enough to pull and Shoyo had ideas because of that fact.
“Sho,” Tadashi gasped as the smaller man found the spot on his neck that Kei had oh so kindly marked the night before. The smallest crow pulled back reluctantly. He wanted nothing more than to fall into bed with Yamaguchi and reestablish their connection physically, but he should probably fess up to his other boyfriends that he was back in the country.
“Sorry,” he muttered pulling back. “It’s safe to come out Yachi!” He called towards the bedroom.
“Oh thank god,” the girl muttered as she opened the door. “I saw your dicks accidentally enough times in high school, I do not want a repeat,” she told them. Sho laughed as he remembered all the squeaks she would make when she accidentally walked in on them changing.
“So your neighbor drove you to the airport to pick up my boyfriend so he could surprise us?” Tadashi asked her.
“Sakusa-san is super nice,” Yachi answered.
“Why do I know that name?”
“He was the hitter for Itachiyama, one of the best in the country,” Shoyo explained as he went to grab a drink for his boyfriend from the fridge. He had noticed that Yachi stocked their favorites.
“Oh, he’s the germaphobe,” Yamaguci said as he realized who her neighbor was.
“Yep, and he’s apparently trying out for some of the V-league teams,” Shoyo said handing him a tea.
“I think I need takeout and an explanation,” Tadashi told the other two as he took a seat on the couch.
“Won’t Kei be wondering where you are?” Shoyo asked. “I still kind of want to surprise the other two,” he admitted.
“He’s got some super secret event that he won’t tell me about,” Tadashi explained.
“Hmmm,” Shoyo said and Tadashi saw the moment a light went off in his head.
“You know something?” He asked.
“I have an idea,” Hinata told him. “But, if he doesn’t want any of us to know, then I think we shouldn’t pry,” he told his former captain.
“Brazil made you wiser,” Tadashi observed as he pulled his boyfriend closer.
“Heitor always said that when Nice went quiet about something, it was in his best interest to leave it alone, and she would come to him when she needed him. Those two are engaged so I think his advice is good,” Shoyo explained.
Tadashi pondered this. It seemed that Shoyo had done a lot more changing in Brazil than just physically. 2 years ago the other man would have been bouncing off the walls trying to demand information, but here he was being calm about the entire situation. Tadashi was proud of Shoyo for all that he had accomplished, and he couldn’t wait to see where his boyfriend went now that he was back home.
“So, now can we hear about Ninja Shoyo?” Yachi asked, making her presence known once again.
“Yeah, I want to hear all about your volleyball adventures,” Tadashi said excitedly.
“Food first, and then we can talk,” Shoyo responded with a smile.
“I’ll order, Yama, pull up the videos on the TV, I want answers,” Yachi commanded as she went to grab a takeout menu and her phone.
“Videos?” Shoyo paled. He didn’t think they would know about all the filming that had taken place.
“Kei found them the minute he came back to Japan,” Tadashi said with a smirk. “We kept it from Tobio because he wants to meet you on the court, but Kei showed me and Yachi and we have so many questions,”
“Alright,” Shoyo said with a grin as he rubbed his hands together. He was excited to talk volleyball with his boyfriend. “Where should I start?”

“So wait, Oikawa just visited you every few weeks?” Yachi asked giggling, Hinata had just told the story of how he and Oikawa had gotten kicked out of a club in Rio.
“Yeah, the Grand King is a little lonely without his Iwa-chan,” Sho told her, grimacing as he used the nickname Oikawa used for the former ace of Aoba Joshai. Somewhere in Argentina, Oikawa grunted angrily while elsewhere in California Iwaizumi sneezed. He slumped against Tadashi, the three had managed to polish off two bottles of wine and they were feeling the effects of it.
“Sounds familiar,” Tadashi whispered as he leaned over and planted a kiss on his Sho’s head. “Think those two will get their acts together?” He asked.
“Kindaichi says it’ll never happen but Kunimi says sometime in about 3 years,” Yachi informed them.
“Yachi!” Shoyo gasped sitting up from where he had been leaning into his boyfriend. “When did you become such a gossip?” The timid girl he remembered from his first year was less and less obvious as the three had chatted throughout the night.
“I want to know this too,” Tadashi said yanking Hinata back down against him. He hadn’t gotten to touch his Sunshine in 2 years, and he’d be damned if he gave up the chance he was given to get the other boy all to himself for the rest of the evening.
“Managers talk,” is all she said with a wink at the end. “And…” she trailed off at the knock on her door. She got up to check who it was, praying it wasn’t Tsukishima. She had already messed up Hinata’s surprise for one boyfriend, she didn’t want to do it for another. She knew from experience that Tsukishima and Tadashi and Hinata all knew something Kageyama didn’t, he would pout and then Hinata would pout and then Tsukki would be annoyed with the duo and then Tadashi would try to fix things only to get pissed off when Tsukishima would inevitably be a dick and then she’d have to deal with all four of the boys in a bad mood. She had done that enough during high school, but she refused to do it this weekend. Looking through the peephole, she saw it wasn’t a tall blonde, but a dark-haired germaphobe instead and she opened her door.
“Sakusa-san?” She asked in question.
“You all are loud, why?” he asked bluntly.
“I was telling Yachi and Dashi about the Grand King and I getting thrown out of a club in Rio,” Hinata answered brightly. He was unbothered by Sakusa’s attitude, if anything it reminded him a little of his friend Aone from Dateko. He made a mental note to give the tall man a call, he wanted to know how Futakuchi was doing as well as the quiet man’s latest carpentry project. He had apparently built a crib for his niece but was working on a rocking chair and Shoyo wanted to know how that had worked out.
“The Grand King?” Sakusa asked, still standing in the doorway.
“Tooru Oikawa, from Aoba Johsai in our prefecture, you probably don’t know him because he never made it to Nationals but apparently he plays for the Argentinian national team,” Tadashi explained. Shoyo smiled at the confidence his boyfriend displayed. Years ago, Tadashi would have deferred to Tsukishima, Daichi, or Kiyoko when someone asked a question, but he was so sure of himself. Shoyo grinned, excited at what that confidence could mean for other areas of their lives. He took Tadshi’s hand in his and brought it to his mouth to kiss the once-callused fingertips of Karasuno’s former captain and pinch server. Tadashi grins lazily down at his smaller boyfriend, his mind knowing exactly where the other man’s has gone.
“You both are disgusting,” Sakusa says as he enters the apartment and slips off his shoes. He wanders to the kitchen to grab yet another bottle of wine and the wine opener before making himself somewhat comfortable around the three crows. “Tell me more,” he demands, pouring himself a glass and topping off the others.
“Sakusa-san is the ‘and’ from earlier,” Yachi explains, not at all perturbed by the man’s behavior.
“Is that why you abandon me once a month?” Tadashi asks with mock hurt on his face.
“Yes,” she said with no remorse.
“I don’t even know what to say,” he whined and buried his face in Hinata’s hair. He didn’t even resist the urge to sniff it. Whatever shampoo Sho had been using was absolutely divine. It smelled of coconuts and oranges and reminded him of the beach, he would need to make sure that Sho continued to use it.
“I’ve got you Dashi,” Shoyo said sympathetically as he held the man close and patted his back.
“Yachi and Kiyoko-san are quiet and have the most information on current and future V-league players,” Sakusa explained.
“You mean they have connections as former managers and you’re using them to find out which team Atsumu has joined?” Hinata asked with a raised brow. Sakusa scoffed at the accusation.
“They’re also pleasant company, unlike the rest of your former teammates,” He told the younger man.
“Tsukki and him would get along like a house on fire,” Tadashi murmured.
“They’d kill each other in five minutes,” Hinata whispered back.
“Should we test it out?”
“Let me see him first and judge his reaction to my surprise if he doesn’t cry, then we’ll lock them in a room,”
“Tobio would be sad,”
“I’ll flirt with Koganegawa and he’ll forget all about it,”
“Sounds like a plan,”
“Do they plot like this a lot?” Sakusa asked.
“Oh, I missed this,” Yachi said with tears in her eyes. It was so nice to see Hinata back home, even if he was plotting something mischievous. He always brought out the playfulness in others, and it was nice to see Yamaguchi looking so happy and light.
“Your entire team are monsters,” Sakusa observed.
“So are you,” Hinata fired back.
“I never claimed to be otherwise,” the hitter said with a grin.
“So what teams are you looking at?” Hinata asked.
“Not the Adlers,” Sakusa said plainly.
“Why?” Tadashi asked.
“Ushijima is a powerhouse, and Kageyama is a genius, but I cannot play my best with them,” Sakusa said simply.
“I get that,” Sho agreed. “There were certain people on the sand who were incredible, and being on their team, I would definitely win,” he paused as if searching for the words, “but it wouldn’t be the same,”
“Exactly,” Sakusa agreed. Somehow the two men had connected on a level that neither Yachi nor Yamaguci could understand. Neither was disgruntled by that. They weren’t monsters like Shoyo and Kiyoomi and that was alright.
“How about the Jackals?” Hinata asked.
“They have potential, though Bokuto is a bit of a loose cannon,” Sakusa told him.
“Ehh, less so, the Tokyo four have helped him and he’s a lot more consistent now,” Hinata disagreed.
“Ahh, I knew there was something there,” Sakusa said sipping his wine.
“I told you that,” Yachi butted in.
“So you did, but it seemed odd, two cats and two owls,” Sakusa told her.
“They work just fine,” Yamaguci told him. During Hinata’s time in Brazil, the Tokyo four had gotten closer with the other boyfriends. Akaashi had helped Yamaguci with school and work while Kuroo had taken Tsukishima under his wing, despite the blonde's protests. Kageyama had been working with Bokuto in their off-seasons a lot, and all six benefited from Kenma’s rise into fame with his streaming and his company. The former Nekoma setter had used his new connections to help get Hinata some better communication with his Japanese friends on the other side of the world during his two-year stay in Rio. Yamaguci had seen firsthand how the Tokyo four worked side by side to help each other in their lives and he was reminded once again of Hinata’s words when they first began speaking of dating one another.
“It’s really beautiful when you see them all together, and I just don’t think I can do for them what they already do for each other”
It was beautiful to see the four of them together, and Hinata couldn’t do for them what they already did for each other, only because Hinata was meant to fill a space in the relationship he had with Tadashi, Tobio, and Kei.
“They do,” Shoyo agreed, leaning up to plant a kiss on his boyfriend’s cheek. “Just like us,”
“Ugh, gag me,” Sakusa groaned.
“Don’t be jealous,” Yachi teased.
“I am not jealous of you,” Sakusa said glaring, but all three could see that he was. Hinata decided he would do something about that, but not right this moment. Because right now, he wanted to take a nap.
“Let’s get some sleep,” he told them, curling up on Tadashi.
“Sho, if I don’t go home, Tsukki will worry,” Tadashi reminded him.
“Tell him you drank too much at Yachi’s and are sleeping over,” the orange-haired crow suggested.
“That will make him march over here for his spoils,” Yachi giggled.
“Gross,” Sakusa moaned. Hinata popped up at Yachi’s statement.
“Are you a horny drunk?” He asked curiously.
“I have called you enough times when I’m drunk for you to know,” Tadashi answered with a slight blush.
“I don’t know why you’re blushing, I’ve heard you through the halls when you drink here with Yachi, the whole complex has heard,” Sakusa told him.
“Ugh,” he groaned, burying his face in his hands.
“Awww, Dashi,” Hinata whispered laying kisses on the man’s face.
“I’m leaving for the night, Tobio’s train gets in at 11,” Tadshi said pulling away.
“Fine,” Hinata pouted.
“Hey,”
“Yeah?”
“I can say this now,”
“Say what?”
“I’ll see you in person, tomorrow,” Tadashi said with a grin.
“Yes you can,” Hinata said with a smile of his own. Tadashi placed one more kiss on his Sunshine’s lips and headed for the door.
“Hey, Dashi!”
“Yeah?”
“See you tomorrow,” Sho called out as Tadashi closed the door behind him. He grinned to himself, his sunshine was finally home and he was about to have all three of his boyfriends under his roof. It was nice to have life work out this way.

Chapter Text
Hinata woke up with a slight headache that couldn’t dampen his excitement. He was going to surprise 2 of his 3 boyfriends today. He was honestly shocked it was going to be a surprise for Tobio AND Kei. He was sure his tallest and snarkiest boyfriend would figure him out. He knew he’d be able to surprise Tobio, as the man really only cared about volleyball and his boyfriends and Hinata had been able to distract Tobio with thoughts of teams to try out for. However, Kei was a tougher nut to distract. He thought that was the saying. Kei had been very distracted recently and Shoyo had an inkling, but he wouldn’t say anything until his dinosaur nerd confirmed.
Shoyo checked the clock and it was barely 8 am, he’d slept in kind of late today, but he deserved it. He very quietly went about getting ready for the day and heard a pitiful groan from Yachi’s bedroom. He took pity on her grabbed some medicine and a glass of water and set it by her bedside before he went to the kitchen and started making breakfast. Living with just Pedro had forced him to get better in the kitchen than anyone would have ever thought. He enjoyed Brazilian cuisine and would absolutely be making it for his boyfriends and friends in the coming weeks, however, he was overjoyed to be able to cook a traditional Japanese breakfast. Oikawa and he had made a few of these over the past two years they’d been in South America, but it wasn’t the same.
Shoyo excitedly started the rice cooker and went about making the miso soup. He prepped the fish and added a few more spices than was typical, but he knew it would be delicious. He started on the omelet and was just finishing the tea when Yachi finally walked out of her room.
“I hate you,” she muttered as she sat and laid her head against the table.
“Why?” He asked her curiously.
“Because you probably drank more than me last night and you’re not that much taller,” she moaned as she held her hand out for a cup of tea. Shoyo chuckled at her dramatics. It was nice to see Yachi so much more relaxed than when they had been first years. She had always been so nervous about messing up or ruining something, but after two years as a manager and then two years in university, she had become more confident and sure of herself.
“I am a bit bigger now,” he admitted as he looked down at his legs and arms. His time on the sand had vastly increased his muscle mass and made it a bit difficult to fit into his old shorts and shirts.
“You are,” she agreed after staring for a moment. “Now, please tell me you didn’t destroy my kitchen with your attempts to cook?” She asked him. He quickly plated everything and set it down on the table before grabbing his own cup of tea and sitting across from her. Her eyes were wide at the feast before her and she was impressed with his skills.
“Why does everyone assume I’m a terrible cook?” He asked, genuinely curious.
“Because you’re impulsive and everyone expects you to just jump ahead without reading recipes or anything,” Yachi said between bites of rice and fish that had her moaning. “This isn’t normal seasoning, what did you use?”
“Garlic, onion, and some cilantro,” Shoyo answered as he sampled the fruits of his labor. “I don’t know why people think that I was on my own for two years and had to fend for myself which taught me a lot, but also my mom was a single mother and she had to make damn sure I could cook for myself and Natsu if she ever had to pull a late shift,” he explained.
“Makes sense,” Yachi said as she tried the tamagoyaki. “How did you get the eggs so fluffy?” She asked stuffing more into her mouth.
“You have to whip them up, I know we use chopsticks, but Brazil had this whisk thingy that was super good at it, I brought one home with me and used that for these this morning,” he answered.
“Well you can just live here and cook for me from now on,” Yachi declared.
“I have to conquer the volleyball world first,” Shoyo reminded her.
“Whatever,” she grumbled as she started on her soup.
“Speaking of volleyball world, I need to make a call,” Shoyo told her as he stood up and placed his own empty plates in the sink.
“Cool, I’ll clean since you cooked,” she answered, still finishing her own breakfast. She held her hand up when Shoyo was about to protest. “You better cook for me one meal anytime you’re back here in town and we’ll call it even,”
“Yachi!”
“Hinata!” She echoed.
“Fine,” he pouted. He couldn’t say no to her. She had joined the team when he asked, she had stayed even when she was nervous and she had been one of the most supportive people when he said he was moving to Brazil. He would do what she asked. He walked into the next room to make a call.
“Did anyone find out?”
“Dashi,”
“Goddamnit!”
In the background, “Wait? I won?”
“How?”
“There’s no way!”
“Kenma?” Shoyo finally asked after hearing a door slam and the noises become more muffled.
“Damnit Shoyo, I thought you were better than this! How could you let anyone find out you were home early?” The man asked.
“Tadashi broke into Yachi’s apartment because Kei was out late,” Shoyo explained.
“Motherfucker, now I owe Ko,” Kenma muttered.
“Sorry Kenma,” Shoyo apologized. “Wait, how often do you bet on my relationship?” He asked.
“Don’t worry about it, now are you ready to take Japanese volleyball by storm?” Kenma asked.
“I wouldn’t be back if I wasn’t,” Shoyo answered confidently.
“Perfect, and I know just the team,” Kenma stated.
“How?”
“I may have insider connections, I hacked Kuroo’s laptop the other day for fun,” Kenma explained.
“Kenma what the fuck?” Kuroo shouted in the background as the door banged open.
“Would you three shut it? I am talking to my sponsoree,” Kenma growled.
“Nice kitty,” Akaashi, could be heard in the background.
“Hi, Shoyo!” Bokuto shouted.
“Hey, Bo!” Shoyo shouted back.
“As I was saying, I know the perfect team,” Kenma told him, ignoring Kuroo’s pouting, Akaashi’s judgment, and Bokuto’s attempts to grab the phone from him. “I’ll email the information to you along with your train ticket. See you soon!” Kenma called into the phone before hanging up.
“I think our kitten needs to be punished, don’t you?” Akaashi asked Kuroo and Bokuto.
“Agreed,” Kuroo said with a glint in his eyes.
“No I don’t,” Kenma said backing away towards the door.
“Nice try kitty,” Bokuto said as Kenma backed into his chest. “I think they’re right, you need a lesson in being nicer to your boyfriends,” he whispered in the shorter man’s ears before wrapping his arms around him and hauling him away towards their bedroom. “Coming?” He called over his shoulder.
“Let me just grab some fun tools,” Kuroos said.
“We’ll get him ready,” Akaashi grinned.
Shoyo smiled at the phone call from his chaotic Tokyo friends and proceeded to open up his email. There at the very top was Kenma’s email. He trusted his friend, but he wanted to do some of his own research, so he quickly pulled out his laptop and started looking up videos and statistics that he could easily find. He glanced at the clock and saw it was almost 11 at this point. Yachi had wandered into the living room at some point and handed him some water before curling up on a chair and going through one of her textbooks. He glanced up at her and pointed to the clock.
“Train station is about 15 minutes from here, so I’d say you can head over at 11:30 to ensure they’re all there at the same time,” She told him.
“Thanks, Yachi!” He smiled. He repacked his bags and made sure to give her a huge hug for all her help with his little surprise. She made him promise that they would all grab dinner on Sunday before the week of classes started back up for her. She waved him out the door and sighed as he disappeared from view down the stairs and towards Yamaguchi’s and Tsukkishima’s apartment.

Chapter Text
Kei had been unusually tightlipped the previous evening when Tadashi had returned home. He had an anxious energy about him and while Tadashi benefited from it in delicious ways he was quite glad that both Tobio and Shoyo would be here today to help him out. He was more than a bit sore and covered in a few bruises. Currently, he and Kei are on their way to the train station to grab their youngest boyfriend.
“When will you tell me what’s happening?” Tadashi asked Kei as he swung their joined hands.
“I will when all four of us are together again,” Kei said cryptically as he pulled their joined hands up for a quick kiss, before lowering their hands and guiding the shorter boy to the train station. They stood close to one another as they waited for Tobio to show up. His train had arrived a few minutes earlier, but Tobio was able to get lost so easily so they knew it would take him time to get to them.
“Kei! Dashi!” They heard a shout from the opposite direction they expected Tobio. He waved as he walked up to them through the crowd of people who had stopped to gawk at him.
“How did you end up all the way over there?” Tadashi asks as he pulls Tobio into a hug and pulls him down for a kiss.
“No idea,” Tobio said breathlessly. He had missed his boyfriends during the season. Now that it was the short break they had he was excited to spend time with them while he could and to see Shoyo.
“You truly are remarkable,” Kei muttered sarcastically as he bent down to kiss Tobio as well. He ruffled the man’s hair, it was getting shaggy and he had a feeling that Tobio’s sister would be taking care of that soon. He would enjoy it while he could, Tobio’s longer locks were very attractive and he was garnering more attention than just being a professional volleyball player allowed for.
“That didn’t sound like a compliment,” Tobio acknowledged after the kiss.
“It was not quite meant to be,” Kei said with a grin.
“Really you two?” Tadashi asked good-naturedly. “Come on, let’s go home!” He said excitedly.
“You’re certainly eager,” Kei said wiggling his brows.
“I’m just excited to have Tobio home,” Tadashi explained.
“You’ve been antsy all day,” Kei needled as he looked closer at his boyfriend.
“Like I said I’m excited for Tobio to be home and Shoyo as well,” Tadashi tried not to lie as he explained away how excited he was for Shoyo to surprise Kei and Tobio. “Maybe I should order some takeout for us, I don’t think we should be cooking today,” Tadashi tried to deflect and also gave an excuse for a random person to be knocking on the door of their apartment later.
“Hmmm,” Tobio said looking at Tadashi. He knew something was up, but he couldn’t tell what.
“Alright, let’s go home and we can get it out of him,” Kei said.
“Or we can get whatever you’re hiding out of you?” Tadashi asked trying to switch the subject.
“What is Saltyshima hiding?” Tobio asked tilting his head to the side. It was so adorable that Tadashi had to smack a kiss on his cheek.
“Come on, I’ll tell you on the way back to our apartment,” He said pulling Tobio out of the station and leaving Kei behind to grab the suitcase.
The three made their way through the station and out onto the streets. They simply enjoyed being with one another, often switching between choosing one victim to tease before moving to the next. Tadashi smiled as he realized when he went to put his key in the door that it was already unlocked. He grinned at the thought of what was going to take place in a few minutes more.
“Tadashi I could have sworn you locked the door behind you when we left,” Kei, ever the observant one realized there was no click of the lock when Tadashi turned it. “Did someone…”
Lying there on the couch was a familiar orange-haired man who was peering at some papers that he thought he had hidden away.
“So what’s this about the Sendai Frogs?” Shoyo asked, lifting up his head.
“Sho?” Tobio asked confused. He could have sworn their smallest boyfriend was meant to be here tomorrow.
“You little shit,” Kei said with exasperation and delight. He made his way quickly to the couch and yanked Shoyo up into his embrace. The shorter man wrapped his legs around Kei as he attached himself to his mouth. He used his very strong leg muscles to push himself up enough to get a modicum of control over the kiss they shared.
“Oi!” Tobio interrupted the two enough so they broke apart. A bit of saliva was the only remainder of the former connection between their mouths.
“Tobio!” Shoyo cried out, unwinding his legs from the tall man and hopping down so he could go and attack his setter’s mouth with his own. He could feel Tobio smiling into their kiss.
“My turn,” Tadashi said with a grin.
“No way!” Tobio protested clutching Shoyo to him.
“You already knew he was here, didn’t you?” Kei accused.
“I did not!” Tadashi tried to lie.
“He did,” Shoyo admitted.
“Sho!”
“Dashi!” He shouted back before he pulled out of Tobio’s arms, walked over to his Tadashi, and kissed him soundly on the lips.
“Would someone please explain?” Tobio asked as he pouted.
“Shoyo got here early and only told Tadashi it looks like,” Kei said as he pulled Tobio closer and planted a kiss on the side of his head.
“I discovered his surprise by accident,” Tadashi defended himself.
“Because someone was apparently investigating some frogs,” Shoyo teased.
“This isn’t about me, it’s about you two conniving behind our backs!” Kei argued.
“There wasn’t a lot of conniving, I promise,” Tadashi giggled.
“More like a lot of drinking and cuddling,” Shoyo said happily.
“I want cuddles,” Tobio pouted.
“Am I not good enough for his majesty?” Kei teased.
“Shush,” Tobio answered as he pinched the middle’s side. “All of you cuddle me now,” Tobio commanded.
“Hmmmm,” Kei considered.
“Actually no cuddles for you until you explain the frogs comment,” Tadashi said with his captain’s voice. He placed his hands on his hips and leveled his best glare at his tallest boyfriend. Kei was reminded of their third year when Tadashi was the captain of their team. It was pretty hot when he got all commanding like that and he knew he couldn’t keep the cat in the bag any longer.
“I tried out for the Sendai Frogs,” he admitted.
“What?!” Tobio and Tadashi roared at the same time.
“How the fuck did you find those papers anyways?” Kei said glaring at Shoyo.
“I have my ways,” the short man said mysteriously.
“More like you started snooping the minute you walked in here,” Kei muttered.
“Also Kuroo,” Shoyo said happily.
“I’m going to kill that rooster,” Kei muttered.
“You tried out for a volleyball team?” Tobio asked.
“How did I miss it?” Tadashi echoed.
“I’ve missed playing, especially since seeing Sho a while back and I joined a local neighborhood team, which you knew Dashi,” Kei pointed out. “And one of them brought up the tryouts for the Frogs,”
“He forgot to mention that Kuroo is an ass who basically dared him not to try out and our little Salytshima likes to be contrary so he did,” Shoyo teased.
Kei grabbed a pillow from the couch and launched it at Shoyo who caught it well in front of his body as he laughed.
“So we have multiple things to celebrate this weekend!” Tadashi said excitedly, more than used to his boyfriends throwing things at one another.
“You’re going to play volleyball again?” Tobio questioned.
“I’m not in your league, so no need to worry about my blocking your majesty,” Tsukki teased. Tobio rolled his eyes and simply pulled the taller man down for a kiss.
“I’m still your setter,” he whispered.
“Always,” Kei agreed with a smirk. “Now, Shrimpy here it’s time to start talking, I know if you’ve been talking to Kuroo, you’ve also been talking to Kenma, so what’s the plan?” Tobio’s face pinched at the mention of the former Nekoma setter. He really was incredibly territorial about his boyfriends/hitters. He disliked other setters who thought they could claim his boyfriends as theirs like Kenma often did to rile him up. He’d be sure to text Akaashi to remind Kenma that Sho was his.
“Well…” Hinata said with a grin.

“Oh fuck..” Hinata gasped. “Right there!” he whimpered as a finger brushed his prostrate.
“Not bad,” Kei told Tobio as he continued to torture their smallest boyfriend for lying about his homecoming.
“Guys!” Hinata whined.
Shoyo had started to explain his plans for the J-league, but being in the apartment with 4 people raised the temperature, so naturally he took off his shirt. He was with his boyfriends so he didn’t think they’d mind. And they did not, but instead of moving back to the conversation, Kei yanked him into his lap and began kissing him. Which led to Tobio and Dashi kissing his neck and then Kei had laid him out on the floor as Tobio had worked off his pants. Kei had stepped back so Tobio could fully undress him and then he was naked and both men were eying his cock like they had never seen one before.
Tobio wasted very little time and had it in his mouth.
“Shit!” Shoyo shouted as his dick was engulfed in wet heat.
“He’s gotten very good at that,” Kei said with a smirk. Shoyo would have glared if he wasn’t already running his hands through Kageyama’s hair and urging him to keep sucking.
“I think he deserves a punishment for not telling us the truth about his arrival,” Tadashi said coming back into the living room with a sinister smile. Shoyo turned his head to stare at the former captain in horror. 2 years of living with Kei had finally broken the sweet man out of his shell and now his deviousness was coming out to play.
“But Dashi!” He whined.
“I think, his punishment will be he doesn’t get to come until we all agree,” Tadashi continued as he started to pull off his own clothes.
“But last night…” Hinata sucked in a breath as he felt Tobio begin to finger his entrance.
“Last night, I was so shocked to see you, but now I’ve had time to think of the appropriate response to you lying to us,”
“Yama doesn’t like it when we lie about anything,” Kageyama said pulling off of Shoyo’s dick. He looked down at his traitorous setter.
“And he has a mean streak when we do,” Kei added unhelpfully, beginning to disrobe as well.
“I mean we haven’t been able to be together in two years, should we really mark this reunion with a punishment?” Shoyo asked desperately, sitting up.
“I think this is more than appropriate,” Tadashi said with a smile. He walked over to Shoyo handing Tobio a bottle of lube. “Now suck,” he commanded. Shoyo, knowing not to argue with his former captain scrambled to his knees and took the cock into his mouth. He sighed, it had been too long since he had done this. He tried not to gag as he went as far as he could go.
“Not too fast,” Tadashi told him. “I know you’re probably out of practice,” Kei walked over to his Yamaguci and leaned down to kiss him. It always got him hot when Tadashi took command. The man usually bottomed for him, but when he switched it was a sight to behold.
Shoyo felt tears in his eyes as he swallowed around Tadashi’s cock. He slowly pulled off and began to lick the tip to give his jaw a slight break. Yamaguci sighed as his cock was exposed to the cooler air in the apartment, but he enjoyed the sensation of Shoyo’s tongue on his tip. He ran his hands through the smaller man’s hair as he continued to make out with Kei. He pulled back for a minute and gestured to Tobio. He knew how the setter had been dying to get his hands on the little ball of sunshine.
Tobio had already gotten rid of his own clothes and kneeled back down to the floor, right behind Shoyo. He carefully squeezed some lube onto his own fingers and warmed it up before lightly nudging one inside of Hinata. Shoyo’s gasp as he felt a finger enter him had him pausing in his ministrations to Yama’s dick.
“Keep going,” Tadashi commanded him.
“So easily distracted,” Kei said with a smirk. Hinata glared before going back to blowing his former captain. Tobio slowly worked his finger all the way in but did not attempt to add more.
“More,” Shoyo begged after a moment.
“Do we think he’s earned more?” Kei asked.
“I’m not su - “ Shoyo wrenched a gasp out of Tadashi as he swirled his tongue around the tip and swallowed almost to the base of his cock.
“Damn,” Kei whistled, impressed. He remembered Shoyo’s skills from Brazil and knew Yamaguci was enjoying some seriously impressive head. He watched as Shoyo continued to lave attention on Tadashi’s cock and used his hands to fondle the former captain’s balls. He also saw a finger wander north and noticed Yama tense up. It was barely a minute later before he was coming down Shoyo’s throat. Kei was there to help him step away. Tadashi was usually a little weak in the knees after he came. Shoyo grinned at his accomplishment before gasping.
“Oh fuck..” Hinata gasped. “Right there!” he whimpered as a finger brushed his prostrate.
“Not bad,” Kei told Tobio as he continued to torture their smallest boyfriend for lying about his homecoming.
“Guys!” Hinata whined.
“I think he knows how upset we are,” Tobio said pulling his finger out and glancing at Kei and Tadashi. Shoyo used his best puppy dog eyes to try to help convince them.
“Ugh, the eyes are unfair!” Kei complained. Since they started dating he had become weak to the brown orbs.
“Weak,” Tadashi said with a giggle and a kiss to his cheek. Shoyo smiled at his boyfriends. He had missed them so much, it was honestly heaven to be back with them all. He couldn’t help himself, he turned around and planted a kiss on Tobio’s lips before he got up from his knees and ran over to Kei and Yamaguci and planted kisses on both of them as well.
Tobio came up behind him and hugged him around his waist. The four just smiled at each other, overjoyed to be in each other’s presence once again.
“Fine, let him cum,” Kei said. Tobio smirked before bending Shoyo over and shoving one finger back into him. He quickly added a second and began to scissor them open as Shoyo moaned at the sensation. Tadashi simply watched as their smallest boyfriend was bent in half and fucked with Tobio’s fingers. He used his own hand to begin massaging Kei’s cock. The blonde was also transfixed by the sight of Shoyo bent over.
After what he deemed was enough prep, Tobio pulled his fingers out of Shoyo and grabbed the lube to cover his cock. He began to carefully work it in as Shoyo groaned at being filled. He was still bent over but noted feet moving toward him. As he glanced up he saw Tadashi and Kei scooting closer to see the show. Considering Kei hadn’t cum yet he decided to help Tadashi out and added his mouth to the mix. As Tobio started to gain rhythm, he used that to help him blow Kei.
The four moved in tandem as if they shared one brain before Tobio came first with a grunt. He pulled out slowly as Shoyo continued to suck Kei before the taller man pulled him off. He picked the smaller man up and spun him around so his back was against the wall. Shoyo automatically wrapped his legs around Kei’s waist and the blonde began to rut against him. He dropped a hand to both of their cocks to help get them over the finish line. Not long after both of their stomachs were painted in the other’s cum. Breathing hard Kei sank to the floor with Shoyo still in his lap as Tadashi came over to them with some damp towels.
“So I was thinking the MSBY Jackals,” Shoyo said after a minute.
“Shut up and enjoy the afterglow Shrimpy,” Kei told him.
“Don’t you fucking dare, Miya will be impossible,” Tobio warned.
“Oh, Bokuto is on that team!” Tadashi added unhelpfully.
“Oh Atsumu was like 35% of the reason and Bokuto was 25%, but he thinks he was 75%,” Hinata told them.
“Once again, afterglow, all of you,” Kei said laying all the way back.
“Sleepy-shima?” Shoyo asked.
“You and your ridiculous nicknames,” Kei said.
“You just don’t want to have to deal with Kuroo and Bo all the time,”
“It was a quieter 2 years,” Kei said wistfully.
“Not anymore,” Shoyo said with a smile.
“I’ll allow it,”
“You have no choice,” Tadashi told him.
“Wait why was Atsumu 35% of the reason,” Tobio asked.
“Ask Kenma,”
