Notes:

Work Text:

Gojo was laying on the bed with his head resting on his pillow as he watched the sunlight peer through the window and landing on his still sleeping wife, giving her more of a glow then she already possesses. She had the cover up to her face so the only thing that could be seen was her nose on up and her messy bedhead. Utahime looked so beautiful it was hard for him to look away and he’s taken so many pictures like there’s no tomorrow of her like this that his photo card was full.

He moved his hand and gently tucked the strands of hair back into place all the while a serene look and smile placed on his face that was bursting with love and adoration for his life partner. How was he so lucky to have her? He must have done something right in life, though he wasn’t sure what it was, but he’s certainly not complaining.

With today being Sunday and him having the day off, he could lounge around in bed however long he wanted just as long as Utahime didn’t kick him out first. And to make sure he wasn’t interrupted by morons calling him with a stupid last minute mission or some other excuse for his help, he put his phone on silent, turned it off(he was not taking any chances), and buried it in one of his cloths drawers which he forgot already. He did the same thing to her phone, but put it in a box and shoved it underneath the bed.

Gojo watched as his wife scrunched her eyes brows together as she sighed and opened those divine brown eyes half way to look at him. “Morning,” she said with a low voice while a hand peek out from under the cover to rub her eyes and face.

“Morning, love,” he said in the same tone, but more lovingly and wrapped his arms around her to snuggle. “How are you feeling?”

“Tired, but other then that, pretty good.”

He hummed in response and moved his right hand underneath her over-sized shirt to rub the noticeable baby bump. This was the result of the love they shared, bringing another life into this world and he already wanted to meet, hold, and spoil the rotten, but he had to be patient since he hated to wait.

“The baby wants pancakes for breakfast,” Utahime mumbled while she nuzzled her face against Gojo’s chest.

‘What the baby wants, the baby gets,’ he thought, knowing to never deprive a pregnant woman and her baby what they want from personal experience. He removed his arms from around his wife to get up, but his plans were thwarted when Utahime clung to him like a baby koala as she let out a little whine. The white haired man laughed at the action. It seems like he’s dealing with clingy Utahime this morning, although, he’s not complaining since he can be just as clingy in return and she doesn’t mind. So, he relishes in it.

“Nooo...you’re warm,” she says, tightening her hold.

“But I need to go make food. Are you going to deny the baby what they need?” He knew she’d give into her child’s needs before her own and reluctantly let go. “How about I give you a piggyback ride? That way, you can still snuggle up to my warmth and eat a nice hot breakfast.”

Gojo’s tried this tactic before and it resulted in a smack to the head and being called “idiot” multiple times, but that was before she became pregnant and using him as a warmer. If there was a chance of her saying “yes”, then he’ll take it.

“You’re an idiot.” Well, that was expected. “Fine.”

His face lit up like a Christmas tree and hurriedly sat on the edge of the bed, ready for take off. “Come on! Come on! Let’s go!” This was a once in a while chance he’s not going to pass up.

Utahime said something he didn’t catch and climbed on his back wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Gojo stood up with ease and walked to the kitchen and getting everything he needed to feed the hungry. When he looked in the fridge, he noticed a container of blueberries. “Do you want plain pancakes or with blueberry?”

The only thing he got from her was a nod.

“Well, which is it? With or without fruit?”

She nodded again.

“Hime,” he ground.

Utahime chuckled. “With fruit please,” she said, laying her cheek against his neck and let out a satisfied sigh.

Gojo moved around the area with ease as if he weren’t carrying extra weight. Utahime wasn’t heavy, but he’ll claim it was his awesome muscles and brag to her about it later when she’s more awake.

What he wouldn’t give to have all his days like this: cooking for his wife with a child on the way, endless snuggles, and he didn’t always have to be the strongest and his guard can be let down. There were no spirits to exercise, no higher ups breathing down his neck, and especially no one to interrupt them.

The aroma of delicious food filled the air as he finished on the stove and set the table before kneeling by one of the chairs. “Time to get off and eat, love,” Gojo said, stroking her left and giving the ring she wore a kiss. “Everything’s ready.”

Utahime let out a small huff through her nose and reluctantly let go. As Gojo stood up, he placed his hand behind her head to moved it forwards to plant a kiss on her forehead and left to set the table. He placed a plate of fluffy pancakes in front of her with a fork and knife and a cup of ginger tea for the bit of nausea she’s probably feeling and got his own stuff with a cut of orange juice.

With every bite of food and sit of tea, Utahime's features became more awake and enough to hold a conversation. She smiles and laughs as his antics which makes his heart swell with affection and want nothing more then to have her stay like this, happy, healthy, and loving him with her whole heart.

If he could stay like this, he’ll the happiest man alive.

If her could stay like this, he’ll never ask for anything again.

If he could stay like this.
