Foggy took a sip from the cup of coffee and grimaced. “Can we please buy one of those coffee machines? The ones that use the tiny cups?”
“Are you serious?” Karen asked, filled with indignation.
“Come on, Foggy, it’s not that bad.” Matt answered, happily sipping from his cup.
“That’s love talking, buddy.” Foggy said, spilling his remaining coffee down the sink.
Matt looked like he was just caught with his pants down and Karen opened her mouth in disbelief while looking at Foggy.
“Ahh, I remember the coffee at Landman and Zach’s when we were just interns there. Remember, Matt? They had those fancy coffee machines with all kinds of coffee and hot chocolate flavors. They also had bagels, and chocolate muffins. What would I give for one of those chocolate muffins right now? …”
“Well, too bad that they are all in jail. I don’t think they will have those kinds of accommodations over there.” Karen said while rearranging the documents on her desk.
“Well, I wouldn’t change anything, this is what’s important to me, us, working together again. Nelson, Murdock and Page,” Matt said while lightly hitting the floor with his cane in affirmation.
Karen looked at Matt with sparkly eyes and a stupid smile while Foggy rolled his eyes.
“Okay, you guys definitely need to get a room, so I’m out of here, I’m gonna buy some decent coffee.”
“Can you get me one too?” Karen asked.
Foggy and Matt looked at her in disbelief.
“What? I never said I make good coffee.” Karen said while looking for some money in her purse.
“Okay let’s just all go and get some coffee and chocolate muffins.” Matt said, accepting defeat.
