Every year, on Halloween, The Forger family would do the same thing. Go Trick or treating, maybe even with Becky occasionally. Anya would always be excited for Halloween. She loved carving pumpkins, the amount of Candy she got while trick or treating , The spooky decorations, And don't even get her started on The costume she got to wear!
The point is, she LOVED Halloween! Even as a teenager, she loved going trick or treating with Becky. But this year, it was a bit different. Damian, Ewen and Emile are coming too!
The two girls decided to go as Cher and Dionne from Clueless , Becky's current favorite movie. Becky went as Cher, and Anya went as Dionne.
The boys however, went as the Rowdyruff boys ( from the Powerpuff girls) , Damian being Brick, Emile as Boomer and Ewen as Butch.
They went trick or treating ( with Martha chaperoning of course) It was fun, especially when they got loads of candy and adults complimenting their costumes. That was until they saw a dark, tall building, it seemed abandoned. There was a sign written in red "Haunted house" With someone standing in the front.
"I don't think there would be any candy here. " Anya comments.
"What? Are you scared?" Damian raises am eyebrow.
"Of course not! What about you? You look scared! " Anya knew he was scared, but he wasn't willing to admit it.
"Lord Damian can't possibly be scared! Right? " Emile and Ewen starts laughing at Anya.
"Oh? If he's not scared, then how about this? Anya and Damian both go in and first one to come out is a scaredy cat. " Becky suggests.
"What about you guys? It's not fair for us! " Damian says, pretending he's not scared.
"We'll go in too, but only if you two enter first. " Becky continues.
"So? Do you agree?" Becky asks, a sly smirk on her face. Anya knew what the girl was thinking, this was another ploy to set them up!
"Deal." The three boys agreed. Anya knew this was just a haunted house attraction, but why not, watching Sy-on boy get scared? Oh ho ho, this is gonna be fun.
"Yeah why not. "Anya gave in.
"Hello, Welcome to our haunted house, it's free for kids. But you'll have to pay for an adult. " The person smiled.
"Okay, Martha, can you wait outside? If we don't come back out in 15 minutes, please come help us. " Becky stated.
"Yes ma'am."
"Alright, please use these bracelets. Have fun! " The person lets them in.
So, Anya and Damian went in, it was a pretty normal house, albeit a bit messy.
"Scared huh? I'm totally not scared! " Damian said a bit too loudly. He was terrified.
"Hush. I think I see something behind that door! " Anya faked it. There was just an actor behind, holding a chainsaw. No big deal.
"W-what? You go check!" Anya rolled her eyes at that.
"Yeah-yeah. " She opened the door slowly. She entered the room. Yup, an actor with a chainsaw was waiting for them at the corner of the room.
"Agh! " She tripped over something.
"You okay in there? Feeling scared? " Damian came in the room.
"I think I sprained my ankle. " Yup, she did.
"Should we get out? " He was secretly thankful, he wanted to get out. Fast.
"No, they'll think we're scaredy cats. Let's continue." Anya stood up. It hurts to walk with a sprained ankle but if it's to prove that Damian is scared, she'll do it.
"You guys okay in there? " It seems that Becky, Emile and Ewen are entering.
"Yeah. Let's go. I'll show you who the scaredy cat really is. " Anya stood up.
The actor with the chainsaw finally popped up, scaring the kids. Anya was too focused on her ankle and forgot the man was there so she screamed too.
"I wasn't expecting that! " They ran past the actor.
More actors popped up, making the children scream.
"Let's get out. Fast." Becky says, before screaming again because of another jump scare.
"So you admit it Y-you're s-s-scared?" Ewen asks.
"Fine! I am scared! Let's just get out of here okay?!" Becky was shaking. She never was a fan of jump scares.
After a few more minutes of jump scares and surprises, they finally found the exit.
"Finally! That was horrible! " Emile sighed.
"Yeah. Glad it's over. " Ewen agreed.
"Madam Becky, where did you go? " Martha ran up to them.
"What do you mean Martha? We went to the haunted house right there-" Becky turned around to the haunted house? Wait, where was it? It was right there a few seconds ago.
"What haunted house madam? I look away for a minute and you five were gone! " Martha asked.
"We went to a haunted house! You guys remember right? " Anya looked at the now empty lot.
The other four children nodded.
"Strange. I remember you saying you were scared. " Damian looked at Becky.
"As if! I totally wasn't! You're lying! " Becky knew she was scared
"Yeah right! I remember you saying it! Lord Damian would never lie. "
Anya rolled her eyes at that. Damian was the one who screamed the most.
While Emile, Ewen and Becky were arguing, Anya was pondering where the haunted house was.
"Where did it go? It was here a minute ago." She looked at the bracelet that man gave her.
"Kids, its almost midnight, we should head home, your parents must be worried sick! " Martha told them.
While on the way home, Anya kept picking at the bracelet and kept wondering. Was that haunted house even real in the first place? Guess we'll never know.
