Chapter 1: Chapter 0 (Rewritten) one shot

Summary:

'I hate rain' she thought after the drops fell. The ghost of her sister, whom she had not seen for a long time, appeared in her memories and with those furies also made the fire burn inside her stomach, it was like the worst poison and the worst joke together.

Maybe it was also the worst punishment if she ever thought about wanting to be Powder again. But how good would that be? The world wasn't much better from before Powder saw the real colors. There would have been many times she was stabbed by those who claimed to love her. The lost memories of the days gone by under the rain couldn't help.

The smiles and the things she was doing with the love of a ghost that was no longer there, took over. She had done it again, she had abandoned her.

'Will we still be sisters? ...'

"Nothing will change that", was what she said. Liar.

It's disgusting that Jinx kept thinking about wanting to see her after everything.

'Haven't you learned yet?' How can she escape from that ghost?

'You can't do it'

'shut your mouth...'

Chapter Text

It was a long time ago. It hadn't literally been a long time, though. And to say 'Once upon a time' sounded quite silly in Jinx's mind. But obviously, nobody was asking how Jinx viewed these cheesy life biographies.

'Oh, you enjoy it...'

So, she began like this; as an ordinary girl from Zaun, a pretty normal childhood at some rotten point of the most dangerous place in the damned forsaken world until her parents died. With all the independents dead for a lost nation, Vander found them.

Years pass, she gains friends and now has a 'family'; a peculiar place to return to. What more could a 12-year-old girl need? Yes, Powder had her sister, her father, and her non-blood brothers, what other need was there to fill apart from the damned oxygen? And when she had all that, a new hobby joined her collection. The brand-new passion for guns and bombs. Then everyone dies, once more. And now the best part! Powder dies and Jinx is born. She's crazily a perfect being.

'You're perfect', Silco's voice tells her. Oh, she definitely remembers that.

That night when she lost everything, that so-awaited second of her life. There was a before and after once everyone she loved was dead by her hands. Oops, bombs. How fatal, she keeps thinking.

"It was an accident... I didn't mean to do it...” oh. Jinx knows it was a premeditated accident. Sometimes the voices seemed to know even more than her. That was annoying… but that's okay.

'Let them think whatever they want'...Jinx watched the sunset attentively. The darkened sky and the moon overhead shone like little bombs waiting to explode. It would be magnificent if from now on there were no stars or moon in the sky. She would be delighted to blow them all up.

'Rain is coming', she thought suspiciously. Her long blue hair braided in two rose against the wind, falling over her shoulders. Jinx took a few steps forward, intentionally letting a foot fall on the concrete. Her body moved downward and before she fell from a huge building a hand clung onto the concrete of the roof. Jinx smiled looking down and waited. With a twist of her body at a rapid speed, she landed once more on the roof and contemplated the view of the City of Progress, Piltover. With a radiant smile yet sharpened by a crudeness of nostalgia on her face, Jinx waited patiently, there was something her face let on she was eagerly waiting for. Far from her, a lightning bolt split the darkness of the night sky followed by a thunderclap that resonated even with the sky illuminated.

The sky's thunder reflected in two intense violet eyes that shone in the darkness.

'Vi left you because you are not Powder’

‘That damn kid and I are the same’

‘Ha! No. You are the parasite that got into her sister's body. Jinx is who finally snatched her innocent sister away... you drove her mad. HA,Ha,Ha!’

‘No!’

'Do you think Vi wants to have Jinx? Hahaha ... '

"Besides, you killed little Powder and in turn, Powder killed her family, I see it as fair.’

'you killed us'

 'Jinx murdered Silco'

"It was an accident!"

'You are alone'

"SHUT UP AND LET ME THINK!"

True, it was her fault but it was also Powder's, and this guilt was of both because the two were simply the same body. They shared the same past and what? Where was her mistake? Anyway, if she wasn't going to participate and Powder hadn't created the downtime, they would have all died anyway. Her smart and helpful sister like the heroine who sacrificed herself un prepared, Vander, Mylo, and Claggor would follow her example.

Just this... And what?!

If things were different, the guilt would simply have fallen on Vi's shoulders.

'They owed me their lives...'

'You killed them' the voices sentenced. The knot in her throat grew but it turned out that as soon as it arrived, it left. The feeling of satisfaction and the sudden expulsion of her feelings were replaced as soon as a thick voice reached her head.

Jinx knew the voice perfectly.

'Jinx is perfect'

'If you sacrifice your heart to be stronger, you will show everything we can become'

'It's okay. We'll show them. We'll show them all'

"oh.. ha... yes" Jinx would do what no one ever did. She succeeded by manifesting the ease with which she always got used to every habitat.

"Oh, what misery!" As she rose from the concrete marble that was one of the lavish balconies of the grand and cared-for buildings of Piltover, full of shimmering details and majestic architecture that tenderly awaited to be blown up, her heart filled with ecstasy.

All the laughter and polite people were like ants to the violet eyes of Jinx, she slightly parted her lips as she raised her right hand introducing brief gestures with her hand in the air with joy pretending to crush each of the points with her fingers. It was truly a wonderful idea.

The rain that descended was soon after a downpour and Jinx's clothes ended up sticking more to her body. Something like simple wet clothes did not prevent her from showing an unsettlingly crazy stance as her muscles moved suddenly and the colorful bombs ended up being thrown down the transitory street.

The people who did not react quickly but very late were the witnesses before the fierce eyes of Jinx in a terrible and anxious expression of fear. The bomb, as expected, exploded. The pink smoke and the glow were like fireworks emerging under the rain. It was terrible to think that what Jinx was about to do was actually a mild attack but above, the people and the loose screams forgetting the rain in their path scattered after it was a fake bomb. Women, children, men with clothes now as soaked as hers got up from the ground with their hands on their heads and some women like the others screamed asking for help among some other things that Jinx didn't seem to care about.

A huge mural of paint stood out on the wall that received the impact. Her name was written in the center with bright colors and her signature.

 "HA.HA.HA.HA"

"Stop right there, Jinx" Interrupting her work of art, Jinx heard a woman beside her. Also when she pointed the gun barrel as a warning.

"Officer, how are you? I'm fine" Jinx heavily turned her body towards the terrible partner (lover?) of her sister.

"Stay where you are Jinx. I could fix it and put a bullet in your head right now"

"Uh... is it because of your mother? Sorry, I didn't know. Although if I knew, I wouldn't have failed"

Jinx spoke with a kind smile.

"Oh, is that so? Well, unfortunately I came here because of your ridiculous joke. You know, Vi is too busy now to deal with minor criminals".

"Do I have competition, Cupcake?"

The gun sounded without Jinx being able to feel it. What made her eyes open in surprise at Caitlyn's action. Now it was clear that proximity was no longer an option and both the weapon and Caitlyn's perfect posture leaning on the trigger were strong as she frowned.

"It's funny", says the voice.

"I know it too" She replied.

"Okay, listen. It wasn't personal, you know? It was just an old debt I had to pay, do you understand?"

"Give me a reason not to blow your head off".

"With that mouth do you kiss my big sister?" It was her introduction and conclusion. The slight blush on her previously frozen face was not lost. Now, seeing the small gap in her hesitation, Jinx didn't think about it and took advantage.

The strength of her body was reflected in her bright violet eyes more than before and she ran towards her target. Why... what else could she do for fun? She kicked using the strength of her leg in a strong kick to the gun that was so easy to start.

The gun went flying and Jinx moved away, waiting for revenge. Do you enjoy your time with her? sure you do, but she was still a clumsy girl who didn't know the true face of Violet. Ah, but the day would come when you finally see her. Caitlyn did not resist because she was distracted, to begin with, but it didn’t take her long to recover with speed, her right hand that received the impact of the blow required her attention.

Caitlyn massaged the painful area of the wrist with the other hand. She had received worse hits and this one should not be worse than the others and she would make sure of it. She looked at the blue-haired woman like a predator. The main disadvantage between them was a long and dangerous row if one did not have a good eye for discernment.

Jinx was tough by nature even before receiving Shimmer in the blood, which now made her an even worse rival. Caitlyn would not make it easy for her. She would not have her weapon of course but she still had the certainty of her head to create ideas as soon as possible.

Her reflexes were good which helped her dodge Jinx’s blow entirely. On the other hand, Caitlyn only saw her half-laugh with bright eyes.

The next hit was not easy to avoid when she realized that Jinx seemed to be playing with her.

“Why- why did you do it…?” Caitlyn asked, catching her breath.

“Hmm?, well..” The hit she received and was sure was in the nape and then on the head knocked her body out.

Only Jinx’s laughter sounded when she felt the rain fall on her face.

“Because you bore me, girl” Caitlyn tried to move her tongue and speak while trying to force herself to get up from the ground but was ignored. No muscle moved.

What had she done to her? Jinx approached her and with a look at those bright and innocent violet eyes on her face full of water drops made the contrast of a psychopath who longs for something.

Jinx said nothing, but murmured words that Caitlyn did not understand.

“You would be the perfect gift for her,” Jinx said.

“But you know what? That bores me too. You were a good point of reflection.. Cupcake”

“You shouldn’t complain, it will pass.”

Jinx spoke seriously and a delicate five-centimeter syringe slipped from her hand. She crossed her gaze and the piece of plastic for a second before answering.

“Don’t worry, I did it. I think it won’t kill you.”

Having said that, she proceeded to store it in one of the fabric pockets of her pants and turned around as she heard the other Guardians arriving outside.

‘She doesn’t want to see you’

‘Now you are not even important to her’

‘It’s easy to get rid of you’

‘you have bad luck, you can’t even go back or have anything in dust’

The voices came back louder. Jinx released insults for a while in a low voice and returned to the side of a Caitlyn still unable to move, on her knees she whispered.

“Say hello to my sister for me, uh?”

Disappearing under the rain and traces of grey smoke in the rain breeze.

Like that day.

Notes:

First off, thank you so much for the kudos! I started this and I'm not quite sure if I should continue. It was just something I felt I needed to support myself after the series ended the way it did. So, thank you for stopping by and reading it! Also, as I'm writing and editing this from my job, I'd like to hear what you think?

Notes:

hello, this is my first project and honestly, I am fond of this series. So I still don't know if I'm going to give it continuity. But I hope you can like them. Emphasizing here that, an apology if you see something wrongly written, My language is not English however, the best day by day thanks.
