Chapter Text
Alpha crossed his arms over his chest as the ramp on their ship slowly lowered. Cody knew it was to only make his lover seem more intimidating; though he really needn’t go to those lengths—a nearly seven-foot-tall armored Mandalorian commando is intimidating enough without the added ramikadyc that is Alpha. Cody knew the sight of two armored Mandalorian commandos were enough to make any sane person tuck tail and head for the furthest starport.
Unfortunately, they weren’t dealing with sane people. Osik’la dar’jetii.
A tall male Chagrian greeted them once the ramp lowered fully. He bowed low and made a large sweeping motion with his arm once he righted himself again.
“Welcome, Mand’alor’e,” he said, his accent on the mando’a grating Cody’s ears. “The emperor awaits you.”
“Let’s get this over with,” Alpha grumbled over their comms.
Cody just grunted in reply, following the Chagrian into the belly of the beast.
—
Cody sighed in relief as he took off his helm once they were in the privacy of their assigned room. Alpha did the same and Cody took the opportunity to pull his cyare down for a kiss. Alpha grunted in the way Cody knew he was annoyed, but let him kiss until he was satisfied.
“Careful when you do that vod’ika,” Alpha warned once he broke off. “Never know who’s watchin’.”
Cody hummed in agreement. He set his bucket down on their bed, moving to the window to close the curtains. “I think the least of the emperor’s problems are who his allies kiss.” That statement was probably true, but he appreciated his lover’s concern and apprehension. And when he turned around, he knew he’d find Alpha inspecting the room for any listening or other spying devices.
“Never trust a dar’jetii, Kot’ika,” Alpha returned.
Cody sighed again, knowing the other was right, though he continued to take the rest of his armor off. (His full beskar kit—Rex had hounded them to wear it, worried they’d be surprised by a kad’dar’jetii.)
“I’m gonna shower before our special dinner,” he said, wrinkling his nose. Then he turned to Alpha and smirked. “Wanna join?”
One of these days, he was going to see if he could make Alpha break his unkitting record.
—
It was late at night when they returned to their room after dinner. After another sweep of the room, Cody and Alpha were about to take off their armor for the night, when Cody heard their door squeak open and whirled around just in time to see a cloaked figure enter their room. Cody reached for his blaster at his side, but Alpha was quicker, standing in front of him, his blaster pointed straight at the intruder.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?” Alpha snarled.
The figure paused, seemingly not phased by the blaster pointed right at their face. They calmly reached up and drew back the hood of their cloak, revealing long reddish-blond hair falling across a slender, and rather pretty, face. The man revealed to them grinned toothily, and it was then that Cody noticed his glowing yellow eyes.
Sith eyes.
“What do you want, dar’jetii?” Cody growled, moving to stand beside Alpha. He wasn’t going to let him face this Sith alone.
The Sith continued to grin at them. “Why, giving you a present from the emperor, of course,” he crooned, unclasping the cloak and letting it fall to his feet.
Cody narrowed his eyes. “You think we’re stupid enough to accept something from the emperor?”
“Of course not, I think the both of you are rather…” the Sith paused, “clever.”
Cody didn’t know whether to take that as a compliment or an insult. He jerked his head to the still-unnamed Sith. “Alright, show us the gift.”
The Sith grinned again. “You’re looking right at it.”
Alpha growled beside Cody. “Mandalorians don’t take slaves.”
“Oh, I’d never dream of it,” the Sith scoffed. “But, if I remember correctly, your ancestors did take concubines.”
Alpha was grudgingly silent. The Sith was right. And he knew it if his smug smirk was anything to go by.
“Excellent,” he purred, stepping forward before both men stopped him.
“You think you can just waltz in here, dar’jetii?” Cody demanded.
The Sith gave them an imploring look. “Perhaps?”
Alpha snarled and pressed his blaster directly into the Sith’s chest. “No. You’re going to stay right where we can see you.”
The Sith sighed and flopped down on one of the overly ornate chairs. “Oh, well. There are much worse ways to spend an evening than to be watched closely by two handsome men.” Over his shoulder, he gave them a flirty wink. “I am yours now, to do as you please…”
Alpha ignored him, pulling out a chair a good distance away from the Sith, still pointing his blaster at him. Cody sat beside him. For a good while, both of them never took their eyes off the Sith, who just sat, observing his nails. Then, Cody spoke to Alpha, in mando’a.
“What the hell are we going to do with him?” Cody muttered.
Alpha grunted. “Sure as hell not going to take him home. He’s definitely some kind of spy for the emperor.”
Cody hummed. “You know how pissy he’d get if we didn’t accept it. We have to do something.”
Alpha sighed, running a hand down his face. “Comm Rex and tell him to get his boys to look for anything Force-resistant. Be it cuffs, collars, whatever. It’ll be the only way we can keep a Sith under control.”
Cody nodded and moved to comm his kih’vod.
This sure put a hassle in their plans.
---
Fox and his contingent of guards greeted them when their ship touched down on Mandalore. A scowl marred his face as he took in their party, one extra, as the Sith trotted behind Cody, the chain connecting his beskar cuffs and collar clinking with each step he took. Fox grumbled something Cody couldn’t hear, but with the way Thorn smirked behind him, it was probably something complaining about Cody and Alpha bringing home a Sith.
Said Sith, whose name was Obi-Wan, as they’d learned on the long flight back home, slid close to Cody’s side as they paused to speak with Fox, wrapping both hands over Cody’s armored bicep. He’d tried to do that with Alpha the day before and nearly lost a hand for it. Cody knew he wasn’t as volatile as his cyare and he knew Obi-Wan had to look the concubine part—which he did, and well. They had been stopped in atmo before landing, Rex having sent up a rightful battalion of his own with the Force-suppressant cuffs and collar that Obi-Wan now wore as well as a change of clothes. They were more revealing than traditional Mandalorian clothing, but it was better than what the Sith had suggested, which was nothing. And Cody still couldn’t get that image out of his mind.
Alpha nodded to Fox, who then ordered his men to unload their ship—and check for tracking or spying devices, and then guards surrounded them as they stepped onto a speeder to take them to the palace.
Cody’s mind wandered as the speeder zoomed through the city, finally able to relax now that he was home and safe. But he couldn’t help to look over at the Sith in the seat next to him. His eyes—which were strangely a bright blue—were wide as they took in the domed city, darting back and forth, trying to take in everything at once. Pride swelled in Cody’s chest as he could see the obvious awe on Obi-Wan’s face, but he remained wary. Yes, he could just be looking with the wonder of a child, but this was one of Mandalore’s greatest enemies. Who knew what the Sith could be trying to gain just from their drive to the palace. Cody made a note to himself to remind Alpha to always have a guard with their concubine (though he was sure Alpha had already done so).
When they reach the palace, they found Rex waiting for them. Cody was the first to step off the speeder and eagerly held his kih’vod in a one-armed embrace, knocking their foreheads together. Alpha followed soon after him, bending enough at the waist so he could also knock foreheads with Rex.
“Glad to see you’re both in one piece,” Rex teased.
Cody rolled his eyes and was about to retort something back when someone cleared their throat behind him. Oh, yeah. He turned, finding Obi-Wan standing politely behind them, bright blue eyes glittering.
“Obi-Wan, this is our little brother, Rex,” Cody said.
Obi-Wan studied him for a moment, then bowed his head politely. “Pleased to finally meet you. I’ve heard much about you.”
Rex narrowed his eyes, studying the Sith back, but he eventually grunted in acceptance. “I’m sure. I try to be an annoyance.”
Obi-Wan grinned. “That makes two of us then.”
All three of them were taken aback by the Sith’s response, but Cody noticed a smirk playing at the edge of Alpha’s lips.
“His rooms are ready when you want to show them,” Rex then said in mando’a. “I had Torrent make sure it’s the most secure place on the goddamn planet.”
Alpha grunted in approval, already heading off to his and Cody’s shared quarters. “Show the pretty Sith around then, Cody, and take him to his rooms after.”
Cody nodded, sliding a hand onto Obi-Wan’s lower back, leading him away from the entrance hall. “C’mon, I’ll show you where dinner is before you get settled.”
Obi-Wan hummed and followed after Cody, a hand coming up to his chest to play with the chains that fell from the collar. “He thinks I’m pretty?”
Cody rolled his eyes. Knowing Alpha it was probably an insult but…he’d seen the way his cyare had been looking at the Sith on the trip over from Coruscant. “Who knows. He’s never called me pretty before.”
If humans could purr, Cody could bet Obi-Wan would be purring right about now.
—
Cody finished the brief tour once they got to Obi-Wan’s rooms. It’d be a stretch to call it a ‘tour’ because he wasn’t sure what he wanted to show the Sith yet…or ever. But at least Obi-Wan knew where the dining room, kitchen, and sparring ground were should he ever need it.
“Oh, this was much more than I was expecting,” Obi-Wan said when Cody opened the door to his quarters.
Cody snorted. They weren’t going to toss him into the dungeon, though his rooms were barely more than a glorified cell. A spacious bed sat in one corner, the tapestries pulled over the beams to allow for privacy, with a walk-in closet directly across from it. Cody hoped the Sith’s spacious wardrobe would fit there. A door beside the closet led to his refresher, while another on the opposite wall led to Cody and Alpha’s room, currently locked. There were large bay doors that lead to the balcony, but Cody knew Rex had those also locked and the glass was reinforced, so he knew there was no chance of anyone coming in or out that way.
“I was able to convince Alpha not to toss you into the dungeon.”
Obi-Wan giggled. “How thoughtful of you.” He turned to face Cody, running a perfectly manicured finger down his chest. “I assume my things will be delivered to me before dinner?”
Cody nodded, desperately trying to keep his mind from wandering as Obi-Wan’s finger wandered down his chest. “Rex’s men will bring it up soon. Feel free to call anyone if you need something.”
He swore the Sith did purr as a smirk grew on Obi-Wan’s face. “Oh, I think I have almost everything I need. But…should I wish for anything…I’ll be sure to call you.” He leaned close into Cody’s space, setting both hands on his shoulders, close enough that Cody could just lean forward a millimeter and their lips would touch.
Cody cleared his throat, forcing himself to take a step back, out of the Sith’s hold. “Dinner’s in an hour. I’ll be back to get you then.” Then he turned and strode out the door before Obi-Wan could see the flush rising to his face.
