Chapter Text
The silhouette of this place is really imposing in the low lighting, casting a dark shadow over everything in front of it with the setting sun. The old concrete is cracking slightly, vines and vegetation crawling up the sides not helping that in the slightest. The sign at the top, advertising that this is "Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex" is dull and looking to be just about ready to fall off. You can spot a few empty and abandoned bird's nests in it too.
You know behind you is the empty, cracked parking lot and a few other buildings left to rot just the same as this one, the sparser concrete jungle that used to be this side of town being overtaken and reclaimed by mother nature once more. Everyone abandoned this place a long time ago, partly because of the building you're standing right in front of. Though, you suppose it isn't the only reason. But the main part is that no one's going to see you climbing into the building in front of you, since this place has well and truly been deserted.
Not that you think anyone would care that you're doing so. They have bigger things to worry about than some girl breaking into an old building no one cares about anymore, if anything they'd yell at you to bring out a souvenir for them. If they didn't immediately leave and get on with their own business that is. No, you're pretty safe to be doing this. As even if someone did call the police, it's not like they're actually going to show up. Too many false calls in the past and they don't even care anymore, everything is just ignored.
You've already grabbed what was left behind in a few other stores around here, now you're just hyping yourself up to enter the supposedly "haunted" building. You can't say you're not excited and a bit nervous, this building has a big reputation and you're curious to see if it lives up to the hype.
You're trying to manage your excitement, ready to be disappointed.
"Alright... Lets do this." You let out a breath, pulling at some of the rotting wooden boards sealing the entrance shut. They break eventually, you making just a big enough hole to be able to climb through. Though you also had to pry one of the sliding doors open first. But you make it in, flexing your fingers. "... Woah."
You look around the entrance area, eyes widening. It's pretty dark inside, all the lights out and no natural light able to seep through the wall. But after your eyes adjust a bit, you're able to catch a few details, like just how big and open it seems.
You pull your backpack off and dig around for your flashlight, pulling it out while turning it on. You immediately aim the beam around the room, pulling your backpack back on.
It's rather dirty, unsurprisingly considering how long it's been since someone cleaned it. Dust, dirt, and who knows what else covers the floor. There's also old, dead plants and decorations tipped over or possibly still in the places they were supposed to be. You can see a few old, plain robots either knock over or still upright and slumped. The floors and walls are likely a few shades darker than they're meant to be, some of the wallpaper torn or scratches clawed into it. There's some old kiosks, tables, popcorn machines, and old screens that are built right onto support beams. Turning to the door you just entered through, you can see some type of shutter that's likely supposed to be down, which could be useful, and some old turned off neon lights in the shape of animals.
There's also garbage tossed around, just out and in bags. Even with a few garbage cans laying around, though some are tipped over. Which is gross.
You take a few seconds to look at the cute art of some animals placed around as you wonder further into the entrance of the building. They look like they were styled like old... rock band types? You're not sure from what decade it's supposed to be.. But there's a wolf, a bear, an alligator, and a chicken. All with shoulder pads and legwarmers, some holding instruments.
You glance over a few more of those neon lights, some looking built right into the foundation too, wondering if they could be turned on. If this place is still in the power grid, you should be able to if the lights aren't burnt out. It's not like the non-existent power companies will care. You do have to wonder how much of a power guzzlier this place is though. If you could get your hands on some solar panels, you could make it so you don't have to use the power grid... But even though they're dirt cheap anymore, you don't know how you'd get them here. Hmmm....
You shake your head, deciding that's a thought for another day, and head a bit deeper into the place. Stopping at the closed turnstiles, you aim your flashlight up at the giant bronze statue of the bear. Your eyebrows raise in surprise, looking over the dirty and rusted thing.
Shaking your head, you jump over the turnstile and head deeper into the building. You sweep your flashlight around, finding turned over prams and a lot of stairs. There's an entrance to "Glamrock Gifts" and something called "Faz Pad." There's some derelict ATMs as well and more dead plants, also some little glimpses of more attractions. You gaze at the art on the walls too, smiling a bit.
This place was really customized to the theme.
When you reach the top of the two flights of stairs, you find another blank screen over what you assume to be elevators? You also find some more bots, some kiddy rides, and photo booths. There's a few doors up here leading to the attractions. One being the gift shop you saw before apparently. But another is to the "Superstar Daycare Pickup," making you hum. There's one other door that leads somewhere, but you don't see the name of what it's supposed to be.
You head over to the elevators, which obviously are not working, but you still glance around the circular entrances with a hum. Ultimately deciding to just move on already, you head over to the doors that are unmarked.
It turns out to be a.... bar? Restaurant? You gaze over the drinks and food left behind, but you have to assume it's all rotted by now considering it's been left to sit for a long while. But you can look over it more later, you suppose. Aiming your flashlight up, you find out this place is the "Faz Pad," whatever that means. Coffee Shop maybe? But you head out the door on the other side, looking around the kitchen for a second before heading out the door and down some stairs.
Lost and found is down here? You'd think they'd have it out in front so people could find their missing items. You take a peak inside, but don't find anything that really catches your interest at the moment. So you head over to the other door. Oh! Maybe this is where you go to ask about your missing items, since this is apparently the customer service desk. Over a bit is a bunch of lockers you're not too interested in looking through right now.
So you head out the door, finding you've just made a big loop. With a sigh, you head up the stairs again and head over to the daycare. You gaze over the... Fizzyfaz vending machines and raise an eyebrow at the currently non-functioning fountain, but continue on. You eyes rove over a red container of some kind, but move on quickly.
Your eyebrows raise at the sight of another rusted bronze statue, or statues since there's two. Similar in appearance.... a sun and moon? Likely just judging by the art and some of the plushes around the place. They're.... kind of strange looking. Like jesters of some sort, thin and gangly with puffy pants and bells. Those smiles... kind of creepy. But they're also pretty cool, you think.
You only gaze over the tables chairs, couches, and lockers, then head over to look into the daycare.
It's huge! Giant play structures and a massive ballpit. There's also a castle like entrance that goes somewhere above the the daycare, but where you have no idea. You look down to see a slide to enter the daycare, but look at the turnstile that'll likely go down to a floor entrance. You head that way, jumping over the gate again, just figuring you're less likely to get stuck somewhere that way than going down the slide. As fun as it sounds.
There's a bunch of rooms lining the way and more of those bots, the rooms looking like they were used for parties. But you do find stairs, heading down to look. There's a pair of giant wooden doors, you pushing them open and entering the playarea.
It's really a marvel, every child's dream. There's a security booth too, likely where one of the workers would stay to watch the kids having a heyday in here. It's.... actually surprisingly not as dirty as the rest of the place for some reason upon first glance. It is still dirty and dusty, but compared to the rest of the place it's actually neater and cleaner. There's not a whole lot of junk laying around and everything seems rather neat and tidy.
You wonder a bit farther in, nearly tripping over something laying in the middle of the floor. You aim your flashlight down, nearly jumping out of your skin when the beam of light reveals that moon guy. ... Just laying there. You poke it with the toe of your boot, but it doesn't react in anyway.
...... Oh, duh. It's a robot. Like the others, it's broken down or out of power. Probably both honestly. But.... you suppose it is kind of strange it was just left here, though you could say that about the other bots too now that you think about it. You would've expected the company to sell them or someone to have come in and used them for scrap.
Well, now that you think about it... it doesn't seem like anyone's been in here since it was closed. .... Weird.
.... You wonder if there's animatronics of the animal characters you keep seeing everywhere. You'd have to guess there is... but where would they be, you wonder? Suppose you'll just have to keep exploring to find out.
You glance over the moon man again, tilting your head. ...Not the friendliest looking thing is he? The grin is rather unsettling, blank circular eyes. The outfit is pretty cute though, and the half face is interesting, a classic you'd suppose. You like the star theme, and the shade of blue. Though you suppose if he was cleaned, it'd be a nicer shade. You're still not sure why this character is for the daycare, but you suppose the logic could line up? Might have wanted to design them to be a bit more friendly looking though.
You head out of the daycare again after one last look over of the moon guy, deciding to go find those other animatronics. Going back to the entrance, you find a service tunnel and follow that. But... geeze the tunnels and rooms down here are even more disgusting. You're glad to find the stairs and red doors leading out.
It is good to know where the tunnels are though, you could probably find a way to turn on the lights down there. Probably find some more interesting or important things down there too.
But for now, you just look around where you've come out. It's.... green rooms? For the animatronics? You have to assume that's what they are, though you have to question why they have them. But you know their names now! Freddy Fazbear, Roxanne Wolf, Montgomery Gator, and Chica Chicken. Interesting.
You pause at the bear's room, perking up a bit when you think you see him laying motionless in his room. You head over to the door, assuming it's able to close but frozen open like most of the other doors. So you don't have any problem walking in. You immediately walk over to the animatronic, kneeling down to look over him.
.... Why are his eyes yellow? Isn't he supposed to have blue eyes? And why are his hands green and purple? You think that's supposed to be the gator's. ....Weird. Maybe some parts got mixed up?
The bear does look surprisingly good, though definitely needs some TLC. He's rather dirty and his casing is really cracked. But you can still see the details, like the blue lightning bolt and "makeup." Along with is black bowtie, top hat, and spiked bracelets.
You look up, wondering if the other animatronics are also in their rooms. But when you check, it doesn't seem like they are. You are impressed by the level of care taken into the design of the rooms, though Montgomery's is pretty trashed. But the others are pretty neat and themed, colors matching what you assume the animatronics are supposed to favor or something. The rooms are pretty nice with more art, posters, vanities, couches, arcades, and other various things. You spend a few moments looking at the things in the cases decorating the hall with more statues, but head back to the bear.
You stare down at him, flashlight roaming over the animatronic's whole body. Taking in little details and every crack, curiosity taking root in your mind.
You wonder if you could fix these things up?
