Chapter Text
Gigi was really getting fed up with these blind dates. In the past two months she’d at least gotten on seven of them. And yes, some of them were hot and some of them did have some interesting stories. But it really didn’t make her much happier and every time when she was supposed to get ready for one of them; she didn’t even bother putting in too much of an effort. She wasn’t looking forward to any of those dates. They had to be Alice’s choices too, cause Nat has to know her type (and probably doesn’t know that many single women that Gigi doesn’t know already either).
For a few months Nat and Alice have been setting her up on blind dates again and again. After a while she just started refusing them, she really just sometimes wants a nice night on a couch with some stupid Netflix show or go out with some friends. But at some point, Alice told her how excited the other women were to meet her and some of the time Alice even arranged a time and place for them; and Gigi found it really hard to refuse them.
But now it has got to stop. Sure, some of them were actually worthy of becoming friends with her and others she swapped numbers with to talk some more about her profession, but meeting women via her ex-wife’s girlfriend wasn’t really Gigi’s preferred method. She just has to find a way to get them off her back. The only thing they really wanted was for her to get a girlfriend, so that has to be the way.
Actually finding a woman who she was really into and could get a strong connection with was gonna take a while though, and she needs Nat and Alice off her back like tomorrow before the kids are back at her place and they can use the excuse that she has time to go on a date because she’s kidless anyway.
Luckily, she has a lunch date with Dani today who she’s really interested in getting to know now that she isn’t her client anymore. Yes, her and Bette knew after that one blind date that they weren’t gonna go on another date after like half an hour, but they stayed friends and she was glad because of it because Bette also introduced her to this extraordinary woman.
Dani was in a tough period after she was embarrassingly betrayed by her fiancée in front of all their friends, family and acquaintances. She was trying to get her life together right now and didn’t quite know how to balance so many changes in her life, but was really glad that she got Gigi in her life to give her some calm. They haven’t known each other that long (they met up like two times after she officially bought her new loft), but she loved that she had someone to share her heritage, language and love for food with.
During their lunch, the topic of the blind dates came up. So of course Gigi had to ask her about when she would be open to dating again.
“Honestly, I would love to get out there and meet new people again but I'm not ready for something serious and I think I can only really go on those dates looking for something serious.”
“So maybe i have a proposition for you then…” Dani tilted her head slightly, curious for whatever Gigi would come up with.
“You could, you know, go on some dates with me. You know until you’re ready to seriously start going on dates again?”
“hmm interesting, and what would you get out of this? Because I just told you I’m not ready for something serious and you know, why would you want to date someone with that already in mind?”
“It doesn't have to be something serious for me but well you know, i would spend some more time with you and getting to know you of course. But also I hope it will get Nat and Alice off my back with those goddamn blind dates.”
“Well miss Ghorbani, I think you got yourself a deal!”
