The Time Travelling Potters

Summary:

James, Lily, Fleamont and Euphemia are bored to death during an Order meeting taking place at Potter Manor. What they never expected during their half-asleep mind-ranting was for James and Lily's son to travel back in time from the future with his wife and their daughter. Suddenly, they have hope that they will be able to kill Voldemort for good.

Notes:

This was my first ever one shot and third ever published story! So, while I'm still proud of it, expect a quality that is not onpar with my current works.

Work Text:

The Order of the Pheonix was the organisation founded by Albus Dumbledore a few years ago. Their goal was to fight the Death Eaters for the side of the Light during the war against Voldemort. Currently, that organisation was meeting in Potter Manor, courtesy of Fleamont and Euphemia Potter.

Fleamont and Euphemia Potter had fought in the war against Grindelwald alongside Dumbledore during the 1940s. Since then, the war heroes had married and in 1960 had one son which they named James. When Voldemort grew in power and their old friend Albus had created the Order, they were one of the firsts to join. A few years later, James and his girlfriend Lily Evans also joined.

The elder Potters were a bit too old to fight in the war against Voldemort. They could hold their own against Death Eaters without any problems but they were never sent on any dangerous missions. The younger Potters however, James and his girlfriend-turned-wife Lily, were also not authorised to fight but for whole other different reason. You see, James and Lily just had a son: Harry Potter.

The 5 months old toddler was currently in his mother's arms. Lily was sitting between James and her mother-in-law Euphemia at the dining table of Potter Manor. The table was big enough to seat approximatively forty people, not that it was ever the case, excluding Order meetings. The Potters was a family that liked to stay behind the spotlight.

Right now, the five Potters were being bored to death at the Order meeting. They knew that everything said in the meetings was important but they couldn't help but be bored. Even Lily, who never used Professor Binns' History Class as official nap time had problems staying awake. And she had her son Harry to distract her.

What they didn't know is that the meeting was about to get a whole lot interesting.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, everyone saw three flashes of golden light in succession before two young adults and a toddler materialised in front of them, on the table. Everyone jumped out of their seats and withdrew their wands, pointing it at the new trio. The trio was still surrounded in golden light which was slowly beaming down. It made it pretty hard to see who were the intruders. The only thing they could distinguish was that it was a young man, a young woman and in her arms, a baby, not far younger than little Harry.

"Who are you?" shouted Albus, his wand pointed at the trio who was currently on the table.

The young man looked around. The Potters couldn't help but feel like he was familiar. Suddenly, the man spoke. "Damn Hermione, we landed in the middle of an Order meeting!"

"Crap." said the young woman named Hermione.

The light finally went out and they could finally see who the intruders were. They didn't recognise the woman but they certainly did for the man. In front of the Order was a carbon-copy of James Potter! The only difference they could see was that instead of having hazel eyes like James, he had green eyes, the same shade as Lily. The clone of James also had a lightning bolt scar on his forehead and looked a bit smaller than James, although not by a lot.

"What the fuck?" said Sirius Black.

"Hello." said Hermione, shyly.

"Who are you?" asked James to his 'twin'.

"How did you manage to trespass into the wards? Currently, only a Potter could enter the house without being invited!" said Fleamont.

"Uh, well you see, it's a funny story." said the man like he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

"Explain!" barked Alastor 'Mad-Eye' Moody.

"Well, we managed to enter the wards uninvited because we are indeed Potters. My name is Harry James Potter, this is my wife Hermione Jean Potter née Granger and this little bundle of joy is our daughter, Rose Lily Potter!"

Everyone in the room looked back and forth at baby Harry in Lily's arms to adult Harry standing with his wife and daughter on the dining table. On their part, the Potters were looking at their time-travelling family with a mix of awe and disbelief.

Since no-one else was talking, Hermione took charge of the conversation. "As you might have guessed, we are time-travellers. We came from the year 2002."

"You're my godson? From the future?" asked Sirius.

"Yes Padfoot." answered Harry and Hermione.

"How? Why?" asked Remus Lupin.

"I'm not sure how exactly, I think Hermione would be better to answer that question but all I know is that it's too complicated for my poor mind. And why? Well we were bored." he said, smirking. His wife slapped him on the arm. "Ow Hermione!"

"What my husband isn't saying is that we couldn't live in peace in our time so we decided to escape to the past."

"Wait, wait wait." said one man that neither Harry not Hermione recognised. "Can you prove your claims first?"

"I'm ready to be questioned under Veritaserum to prove my identity if this is what you want." said Harry, confidently.

"Let's do that." said Euphemia. "But please get down from the table." she said.

"As long as we don't get hexed." said her time-travelling grandson, looking at everyone else. Most people still had their wands pointed at them. The only ones who didn't were Albus Dumbledore and the Potters. Harry and Hermione jumped down from the table and they each took a seat. Quickly enough, a small vial of Veritaserum was provided and they put a few drops on Harry's tongue.

"What is your name?" asked Albus Dumbledore.

"Harry James Potter."

"What is the date of your birth?"

"31st of July 1980"

"Who are your parents?"

"James Fleamont Potter and Lily Julia Potter née Evans."

When Harry said the last line, the Potters no longer had any doubts about the travellers' identities. They gave him the antidote and gave Veritaserum to Hermione, just to be sure.

Dumbledore repeated his questions. "What is your name?"

"Hermione Jean Potter, née Granger."

"What is the date of your birth?"

"19th September 1979"

"Who are your parents?"

"Daniel Granger and Emma Granger née Wilkins"

"Who are you holding in your arms?"

"My daughter, Rose Lily Potter." she finished before they gave her the antidote as well.

"Bloody hell!" said someone from the Order.

"You believe us now?" asked Harry, smirking. He saw multiple nods from various Order members.

"Look at you..." said Lily emotionally. "You look so grown-up!"

Harry looked at Lily and smiled. "Hey mum."

Lily gave baby Harry to Sirius before taking adult Harry in a bone-crushing hug. Harry melted in his mother's embrace. It was the first time he had been hugged by her. Harry felt tears slowly coming out of his eyes and he knew that his mother wasn't in a better state.

"I- I- I love you mum." said Harry.

Lily started crying in her son's shoulder. "I love you too Harry."

James approached them and when Lily finally let go, Harry looked at him and said "Dad." emotionally. James took his son in a hug as well.

"Hey son." greeted James.

"Hey Prongs." answered Harry with a smile, greeting him with his Marauder nickname instead. James only smirked and strengthened his hold.

Next was Sirius, Remus and his younger self. The reunion wasn't as emotional for Harry as he had met both of them before and Remus was still alive when the Potters went back in time but he still took both of them in a hug at the same time. "Hello Padfoot, Moony. Is that me?" he asked, looking at the baby in Sirius' arms.

"Yes. My godson and future Marauder: Harry Prongslet Potter!"

"That's not his middle name Sirius." laughed Remus.

Harry noticed that Peter Pettigrew, a.k.a Wormtail, wasn't present at the current meeting.

"Where is Wormtail?" he asked.

Remus answered. "He isn't available currently. He told us that he needed to care for his sick mother."

Harry almost snorted out lout. He decided to drop the matter, for now. Finally, Harry turned around and was found with another copy of James, except he was much older than his father and had grey hair. Alongside him was a beautiful but old woman with hair that looked like was fighting between being black and being white.

"Are you my grandparents?" asked Harry in awe.

"Fleamont and Euphemia Potter." said Fleamont. Right then, Euphemia took him in his fourth hug of the day. Her hug was stronger than he had ever experienced before, even from Mrs. Weasley's. Fleamont then gave him his fifth of the day.

While Harry met his family, Lily went to Hermione, who had stayed a few feet away to give Harry and his family space, and asked "Is this my granddaughter?"

Hermione nodded. "Rose Lily Potter. We decided to follow the naming tradition of the Evans family so we named her Rose. I think you can figure out where her middle name came from." she said, smiling.

"She's so beautiful." said Lily, beaming.

"I know. We don't see it right now because we gave her a small sleeping draught before we did the time jump but she has your eyes, just like Harry does. She also has the untameable Potter hair as well but, in my brown, instead of his black. Do you want to hold her?" she asked to her mother-in-law. Lily quickly said yes and Hermione placed her daughter in Lily's arms.

Hermione and Lily quickly re-joined the rest of the family and Lily passed Rose back to Hermione before taking her son in her arms. Harry decided to introduce his and Hermione's daughter to the rest of the Potters. "Everyone, this is Rose Lily Potter, your granddaughter, or great-granddaughter depending on the generation!" said Harry with pride.

"Or great-goddaughter!" said Sirius.

"Yes that." laughed Harry.

Someone behind them cleared his throat.

"I do not wish to interrupt this family reunion but we need to know: why did you travel back in time?" asked Albus. The rest of the Order had their full attention.

"You better sit down, it's a long story." said Hermione.

Once everyone took a seat around the table, Harry said "Before we tell our story however, there is something we need to tell you all. There is a traitor in your ranks."

"What!" shouted a dozen people in shock.

"Who is that traitor?" asked Dumbledore, concerned.

"Peter Pettigrew." said Hermione.

"No!" shouted the three Marauders which woke up both baby Harry and Rose. Lily was too shocked and scared to instantly realise that baby Harry had woken-up. Adult Harry didn't blame her, he knew that by that point in time, he was already their Secret-Keeper. Hermione calmed down Rose and a few seconds later, Lily came out of her shock and calmed down baby Harry. The Marauders however, looked like someone had just stabbed them in the heart.

"Wormtail betrayed us?" whispered Sirius.

Harry nodded sadly. "I don't know when exactly that happened, but from what I know, it happened between my birth and today."

"I can't believe it!" said James. Remus, on his part, wasn't saying anything. He just had his head in his hands.

"Let's tell our story, shall we?" asked Hermione, looking at her husband.

Harry nodded. "Our story starts a few weeks before my birth. When Professor Dumbledore was giving an interview for the post of Divination teacher, a legitimate prophecy was made."

Dumbledore immediately stopped Harry. "You know of the prophecy, Mr. Potter?"

"What prophecy?" asked a few people.

"Of course, I do. I'm the one named in it after all." answered Harry, rolling his eyes. "And yes, I'll reveal it to everyone here. The prophecy doesn't matter anymore since we will release my younger self from the role. I personally already fulfilled it once, I can do it again."

Only those who knew the prophecy reacted to Harry's statement. The few who knew were James, Lily, Sirius and Dumbledore.

"Can someone tell us what is that blasted prophecy?" asked Alastor.

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..." recited Harry. "In short, it means that someone born at the end of July from parents who defied Voldemort three times will have a chance to defeat him.

"So, you killed You-Know-Who?" asked someone that Harry didn't recognise.

"Yep." said Harry. "Fun story but we will come back to that later." he said nonchalantly. Hermione only rolled her eyes. "So, where were we? Ah yes. So, the prophecy was made to Dumbledore but while the prophecy was made, a Death Eater overheard the first two lines. He was kicked out before he could hear more but the Death Eater told the prophecy to his master and Voldemort decided to target the two families who defied him three times and had a child born at the end of July: The Potters and the Longbottoms. The Death Eater who reported the prophecy eventually learned that Voldemort decided to target the Potters and decided to defect to our side. That Death Eater's name? Severus Snape."

You could hear a pin drop.

"Snape made Voldemort target us!?" said an angry James.

Harry nodded sadly. "The worst part is that when he heard that we were the targets, he pleaded with Voldemort to spare Mum's life. When he realised that Voldemort probably wouldn't give a shit, he turned to Professor Dumbledore and again, pleaded that he kept Mum safe. Not Dad, not me. Just Mum. I learned that the reason why he did this was because he was in love with Mum," here he snorted with disgust "and probably hoped to take her on the rebound of losing us."

"That bastard!" shouted James once more. The Marauders then started launching a bunch of different insults but Harry quickly stopped them. "Oi! There are children here!"

"Sorry." whispered James.

Harry then looked at his mother with concern. He knew that she and Snape had once been best friends but stopped when Snape called her a 'mudblood' which Lily saw as a betrayal from her oldest friend. It was one thing insulting your best friend with one of the most vulgar words in the dictionary, but it was something else to set loose a madman and worst Dark Lord in the last few centuries against your former friend. Unsurprisingly, Lily was slowly crying. Harry hated himself for revealing this in front of her but they needed to know.

Hermione decided to continue the story. "I don't know exactly why it took so long but Wormtail eventually revealed the location of Potter Cottage to Voldemort."

"Wait." asked Dumbledore. "How could Peter reveal the location where the Potters were hidden if Sirius is the Secret-Keeper?"

Lily spoke up. "Well you see, we knew that everyone would suspect that Sirius would be the Secret-Keeper since Sirius and James are brothers in everything but blood. So, we decided to make Peter the Secret-Keeper and use Sirius as a decoy so that even if the enemy found him, he wouldn't be able to tell the location of our home."

"I came up with the idea." said Sirius. "I thought it was a brilliant idea. If I knew that Peter was a traitor, I would never have proposed it!"

"I know Padfoot." said James.

"On Halloween 1981," continued Hermione, "Voldemort attacked the cottage. He first fought James and then killed him." she said and everyone heard the sudden sobs from Euphemia who was being comforted by Fleamont. "Then, he went upstairs and entered the nursery where Lily and Harry had taken refuge. Since Snape had pleaded for her life, he gave Lily the option to get out of the way and live."

"Did he really expect Lily to just give up like that and not protect you?" asked Fleamont to Harry, shocked.

He answered. "Voldemort doesn't understand love and his worse fear is Death itself. Voldemort doesn't understand why a mother would sacrifice herself for her child, especially when the other option is death. So yes, he thought that Mum would get out of the way. But of course, she didn't."

"No, she didn't." continued Hermione. "He killed Lily there, in front of Harry who was in his crib. He then turned his wand on Harry and shot the Killing Curse at him." he said. This time, it was Lily who was crying and being comforted by James. She was still holding tightly on baby Harry, like she feared that if she released her grip, he would die right then and there.

Harry cleared his forehead of his hair so that everyone could see the lightning bolt scar. Everyone gasped when they realised what it was. "... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal" he said. "Because Mum sacrificed herself for me, she unknowingly created a protection based on her love for me. As Professor Dumbledore would probably agree with me, Love is really the most powerful of magic." said Harry.

Professor Dumbledore's eyes were twinkling. "I am guessing that it is 'The Power the Dark Lord knows not' from the prophecy?"

"Yes." answered Harry. "And the prophecy is right. I didn't kill Voldemort with love, obviously," he said, earning a few chuckles and snorts from some people "but without it, I don't think I would have managed to fulfil it." he said, looking with loving eyes at Hermione. Hermione kissed him on the lips which made Lily and Euphemia smile.

"What happened after... you know what?" asked Fleamont, incapable of mentioning the murder of his son and daughter-in-law.

"The Killing Curse rebounded on Voldemort and he was defeated." said Harry.

"Holy shit!" shouted someone. It was obvious that some people wanted to celebrate theses news but they all remembered that it had happened at the cost of the Potters who were currently sitting at the same table as them. So, they kept quiet.

"Holy shit indeed." said Harry, earning himself another slap on the arm from a smirking Hermione. "Sorry." he said, not sorry at all.

"Anyway... at that point, Harry was the only living being left alive. Something important happened at that moment but we won't talk about it until the end of the story." said Hermione. Harry shivered, remembering that he had once been one of Voldemort's Horcruxes. "Harry stayed alone in his crib until someone arrived at the house. That person was Rubeus Hagrid. While Hagrid was looking for survivors, Sirius had gone and looked for Wormtail, making sure he was still safe. When he saw that Pettigrew was missing, seemingly left his safehouse without a fight, Sirius realised that something must have happened and immediately left with his flying bike in direction of Potter Cottage. He arrived not long after and landed in front of the cottage. Inside, Hagrid had found Harry and brought him downstairs. Dumbledore had asked Hagrid to bring Harry to him so that they could check on his health to make sure he was okay."

Harry continued. "Hagrid told Sirius that I was the only survivor and that he had been ordered to bring me to him. Sirius originally wanted to take me with him instead but he realised that it was probably better for now that my health was checked. He let Hagrid take me to Dumbledore and left him his bike. Sirius decided at that point to go and look for Wormtail, realising that he had betrayed us."

"What?" asked Lily. "You are his godfather! You should have gone with him!"

"Don't blame me!" said Sirius. "It didn't technically happen! If it can reassure you, I won't jump into revenge if a similar situation ever happens."

"Thank you." said Lily.

Hermione said "From that point on, we don't really know what happened until the next day. On November 2nd, seemingly once Harry had been checked by a healer and made sure that he was alright, Dumbledore decided to bring him to his only family remaining."

"That doesn't make senses." said Fleamont, frowning. "Harry didn't seem to recognise us when we met him."

"Well you see," said Harry. "The love protection created by Mum was blood-magic. Dumbledore realised that this protection would last as long as I lived with someone who shared Mum's blood."

It clicked in Lily's mind. "No... he didn't!" she said, looking angry at Dumbledore.

"Did what?" asked James, concerned.

"Were you raised by my sister and whale of a husband?" asked Lily to Harry. Harry only looked down, confirming her suspicions. "They hate magic! Why would you send a magical child to live there?" she said to Dumbledore. "My sister does not even talk to me!" She looked back at Harry. "How did they treat you?"

Hermione realised that Harry was refusing to answer and was about to tell Lily when she received a pleading look from Harry. "Harry," she whispered to him. "They are your family, your parents. They have a right to know, my love." Harry only nodded and put his head on her shoulder, still looking down. He wasn't crying but it was obvious he was uncomfortable.

"To make it short, Harry grew up unloved. He didn't have a single friend since his cousin would bully him and anyone who approached him. He always wore Dudley's hand-me-downs. They would barely feed him and until he received his Hogwarts letter at 11 years old, his bedroom..." here she hesitated. Harry just looked at her and nodded, telling her that at that point, there wasn't any reasons to hide it. "His bedroom was the cupboard under the stairs." she finished. The time-travelling Potters heard many gasps all around the table of Potter Manor.

The non-time-travelling Potters looked horrible. They all looked like they blamed themselves for not being there for Harry. Hermione realised where Harry took that trait from. To a point, she could understand why Harry's grandparents blamed themselves, not that she shared their opinions, but from their point of view, they just weren't there and they didn't know why.

Harry also realised what was happening and spoke. "It isn't your fault. It isn't anyone's fault but the Dursleys. Mum, Dad, you died protecting me from one of the worse Dark Lords in history. Grandmum, Granddad, I don't know what happened back then and why you weren't there but I am sure that you would have been if you could. I don't think you purposefully ignored me. Something must have happened between now and the next Halloween."

"For Sirius and Remus, you will know why once we continue the story." said Hermione. "On the same day that Harry had been dropped off at the Dursleys, Sirius found Peter. When Peter realised that Sirius found him, he started to flee. Sirius quickly caught up on him. Before Sirius could say anything however, Wormtail shouted something like 'WHY SIRIUS? WHY DID YOU BETRAY THE POTTERS!' before sending a blasting hex on a gas line, blowing up the whole street and killing twelve Muggles. Once he did that, he cut off his finger and transformed into his Animagus form, that of a rat which is ironically fitting, and fled in the sewers. Sirius, who had suffered too many emotional blows in a short period of time, completely lost it and started laughing."

"Now, I think you can imagine how the Aurors reacted when they arrived on the scene of an absolute carnage. Twelve Muggles dead, many, many others injured, one finger being the only found remnant of a wizard and the Potter Secret-Keeper, member of the Noble and Ancient House of Black who are known supporters of Voldemort, on his knees and laughing." said Harry. "Add to that the witnesses which would say that they heard Pettigrew blame Sirius for your deaths and it's easy to realise where it's going."

"They arrested me?" deduced Sirius.

Harry nodded. "And threw you into Azkaban without a trial." Sirius shivered. "A few days later, Remus came back into the country, only to learn that Mum and Dad were dead, that I had disappeared from the Wizarding World and that Sirius had supposedly betrayed us and then killed Peter. Remus, who had problems just holding on a job because of his 'furry little problem' and lost what he considered being his only family outside of his parents, got into a depression that he didn't come out until years later."

The Marauders and Lily all looked at each other. It was crazy how wrong things could go in such a short period of time.

Hermione said "Now, things stayed steady for the next ten years. The Wizarding World celebrated the Death of Voldemort, not that he was actually dead of course, while Harry was living at the Dursleys."

"I never knew my real story during those ten years. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon told me that Mum and Dad died in a car crash while Dad was drunk-driving. They also kept saying that you were good-for-nothing peoples who didn't even have a job." said Harry with anger. James and Fleamont shared the same face as Harry. Lily had a mix of sadness and anger on her face while Euphemia just looked resigned.

"If I may ask, why are you telling us this?" asked Dumbledore.

Hermione smiled. "Because we want to change the future."

"But why? You said that you killed Voldemort!" asked one incredulous Order member.

"We did, but at what cost?" asked Harry. "We lost too many friends and family during the war and once it was over, Hermione and I could never show our faces in public without being literally assaulted by fanatic reporters that wanted a good scoop or so called 'fans' that always wanted a photo taken or an object signed. I can appreciate when people want to thank us but when it's to the point that we can't even do anything in public and our lives are constantly reported in the Daily Prophet..."

"So, I had the idea of just going back in time. We could start a family in the past and live in peace, once we got rid of Voldemort again, although this time it would be anonymously. The different calculations and spell work took about a year to complete, by which time I had learned that I was pregnant with Rose so we decided to postpone the time jump until it was safe for Rose to travel. Four months after our baby was born, we decided to do the time jump and we arrived here, today, in the middle of an Order meeting." said Hermione.

"But isn't it illegal to travel back in time?" asked Lily.

"Technically yes although when you look at the facts, it is totally legal." said Harry, smirking.

"What do you mean?" asked someone.

Hermione answered. "Simple. The laws state that it is illegal to 'travel' to the past, not to arrive from the future. Since it's impossible to travel to the future, it means that the moment you travel to the past, you can't be arrested since you just don't exist anymore in that time period and when you arrive in the future, you technically never travelled to the past since you are in the present, not the past, and the action of travelling never happened!"

Someone snorted, James then chuckled and Sirius burst out laughing, the rest of the Order quickly joining in, even Dumbledore.

"So," started Dumbledore when the Order finally calmed down. "You said that you defeated Voldemort? How did you do it?"

"Oh, simple really, we went on a Horcrux Hunt." said Hermione like if he was talking about the weather.

Dumbledore chocked. "Lord Voldemort has done a Horcrux?"

"Oh no, not a Horcrux..." started Harry. Dumbledore visibly calmed. "He did multiple Horcruxes, five to be exact in that point in time."

The few who knew what Horcruxes were all massively palled.

"What is a Horcrux?" asked James.

"A Horcrux is one of the worse types of magic. To keep it simple, a Horcrux is a container where someone put a piece of their soul inside, using a ritual that only work with a murder." said Sirius. He had learned about some of the worst types of black magic when he was living with his deranged family.

"And he made five of them?" asked Lily, a little bit green.

"Yes." answered Harry. "But his goal was to make 6 Horcruxes so that he could separate his soul in seven and in our time, he had seven horcruxes since one was accidental and he didn't know of its existence when he made his 'six' one."

"How can you make an accidental one?" asked someone with shock.

"Well, it's simple really. It happens when you start the ritual to make a new Horcrux and then go to kill your target but somehow your Killing Curse backfires which make your bit of soul ready to be used separate from the main piece. The smaller piece then is then left floating and attach itself to the only living thing in the room. I hope you realise where I am going with this..." finished Harry, quietly.

"NO!" shouted Lily, outraged and heartbroken when she realised that Harry was implying.

For the few who hadn't understood what Harry was saying, Lily's reaction was more than enough: Harry Potter is, or once was, one of Voldemort's Horcruxes.

"How did you remove it?" asked a very pale Remus.

"Oh, it isn't very important right now." answered Harry in a way very similar to how Cornelius Fudge once reacted when Harry had asked how Sirius' escape from Azkaban concerned him.

"Harry..." warned Lily and Hermione at the same time.

"Fine." sighed Harry. It was removed at the Battle of Hogwarts on the 2nd of May 1998. To make it short, Hermione, Ron and I went to Hogwarts to get the final Horcrux. Voldemort had just found out that his other Horcruxes were destroyed and so was also in route to Hogwarts. A battle erupted between the Death Eaters and everyone fight for the Light which were almost every student older than 17-years-old, the teachers, the Order of the Pheonix, some Hogsmeade villagers and Dumbledore's Army."

"Dumbledore's Army?" asked Dumbledore, surprised.

"Yes, it was how we named our illegal Defence club in our fifth year at Hogwarts. To come back to what was eventually named the Battle of Hogwarts, we managed to destroy every Horcruxes, excluding Voldemort's pet snake but since he hasn't made it a Horcrux until 1993-1994 we won't have to worry about it this time."

"Around the middle of the battle, Harry saw a vision from Voldemort's point of view, thanks to the Horcrux which created a link between the both of them. He saw that Voldemort was in the Shrieking Shack and so we went there, hoping to get rid of the snake Nagini before fighting Voldemort." said Hermione. "However, Voldemort was currently meeting Snape at that place. We waited and listened to the conversation but Voldemort ordered Nagini to kill Snape."

"In his last moments, Snape gave him a few of his memories. Shortly after, Voldemort ordered a cease-fire, saying that he would leave Hogwarts if I surrendered myself. I used that time to watch the memories Snape gave me. It showed me his friendship with Mum, including the moment he fucked-it-up in your fifth year, and the moment he turned on Voldemort. He showed a few memories that were proof that Snape had been working for us all this time from the shadows. Afterward, he showed me a conversation between himself and Professor Dumbledore where Dumbledore practically told him that I was a Horcrux and that I had to die by Voldemort's hand."

"WHAT?" shouted a few people. They had all realised that Harry had been a Horcrux but they never thought that he removed it by sacrificing himself to Voldemort.

"Yeah..." said Harry. "Since the cease-fire was still active and Voldemort was waiting for me, I went to him. I didn't tell a single person, not even Hermione since I thought that if I did, I wouldn't be able to go all the way." At that point, Hermione had started tearing up and she put her head on Harry's shoulder. Harry rubbed her back and kissed her on the top of her head, just like she had done previously to him.

"And You-Know-Who... he killed you?" asked one Order member.

Harry nodded. "He cast the Killing Curse at me and I found myself in the afterlife talking to Dumbledore. And yes, by that point Dumbledore had died." he said, to the shock of everyone else. He then looked at the man in question. "Death is nothing but the next great adventure... and I have definite proof of that." he said, smirking. Dumbledore's eyes were twinkling.

"How did you survive?" asked Sirius, who hadn't spoken in some time.

"Well you see, it's a fun story." said Harry. "I never technically died."

"What?" he heard again, this time in confusion.

"There are multiple factors that all happened in helping me survive a second Killing Curse. The first one was the fact that I was a Horcrux. I don't think it made much difference but it helped since that piece of soul was sent to the afterlife and not my soul. The second was the fact that Voldemort cast the curse using the Elder Wand, which by that point was loyal to me." he said smirking. Few knew what the Elder Wand was but Dumbledore and the Potters all knew what it was and gasped in recognition. "The last one is a bit more complicated. Voldemort gained his body back at the beginning of the summer of 1995 so three years before. To do that, he used my blood since the ritual demanded to use the blood of an enemy and Voldemort, the fool he was, decided to use my blood to cancel Mum's protection, not realising the advantage he gave me. Basically, when he cast the curse at me, I didn't die because Voldemort was my own personal Horcrux!" he said, laughing.

Again, Harry heard a bunch of shocked "WHAT?"

"Don't get me wrong, I never, ever split my soul not do I intend on ever doing it. It's just that when Voldemort used my blood, he anchored me to him which is what a Horcrux do. It meant that if he tried to kill me, it wouldn't work. It was only a one-time use from what I understood and only if he was the one to cast the curse at me but basically, I survived because he used my blood."

"You would have thought by that point that he should just use a Cutting Curse to the neck, the Killing Curse just doesn't work against you!" said James, laughing.

"JAMES!" shouted Lily shocked.

"I eventually woke back up and that's how I removed the Horcrux in me."

"Can you tell us what are Voldemort's current Horcruxes?" asked Professor Dumbledore.

Hermione answered. "We are only sure of the location of two of the current Horcruxes. Thoses ones are Marvolo Gaunt's Ring which is hidden in the old Gaunt Shack in Little Hangleton and the other is Rowena Ravenclaw's Lost Diadem which is currently at Hogwarts in the Room of Requirements. The ones which we aren't sure if they are at their final location yet are Tom Riddle's Diary, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup and Salazar Slytherin's Locket."

"So basically, the madman desecrated items from the founders." said one person.

"Nothing from Gryffindor however." said Lily.

"That's because Godric Gryffindor's Sword, the only known artefact from Godric Gryffindor, is hidden in the Sorting Hat and can only be accessed by a true Gryffindor which means that Voldemort would never had gained access to it. It also doesn't help that the Sword is Goblin-made and only absorbs which makes it stronger so it wouldn't accept a piece of soul.

"And where were the other Horcruxes in your time?"

"Tom Riddle's Diary was at Malfoy Manor, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup was in Bellatrix Lestrange's Vault at Gringotts and Salazar Slytherin's Locket was at #12 Grimmauld Place.

"Hold on, what?" said Sirius quickly.

"Sirius, is your brother Regulus still alive?"

Immediately, Sirius started looking down, the memory of his younger brother's death still fresh in his mind. He shook his head.

"Regulus found out about the Horcruxes and went to find Slytherin's Locket. With the help of Kreacher, he stole the real Horcrux but died in the process. Kreacher brought the Horcrux back to Grimmauld Place and tried to destroy it on Regulus's orders but failed. It is currently sitting there." said Hermione.

Sirius had tears in his eyes. The word around was that Voldemort had killed Regulus personally but the reason wasn't known why. Most, like Sirius and his friends, had assumed that Regulus had just been a spare Death Eater to be killed at the smallest of mistakes. He didn't expect to hear that his brother had died at hero.

"Well..." said Alastor Moody. "We know what to do now."

The next morning, James and Lily invited Peter Pettigrew for diner. Peter, not expecting anything, was quickly stunned by Harry. Brought back to Potter Manor, Dumbledore interrogated Pettigrew under Veritaserum. They learned that Peter had already given the location of Potter Cottage to Voldemort and the only reason he hadn't attacked yet was because he wanted to wait on Halloween as it was a day were magic was at its most active and strongest. And also, because he had time to wait, a baby couldn't do him any harm, especially when its family is in hiding. James had to be restrained by his father and son so that he wouldn't kill Pettigrew right then and there. All Four Generations of Potters moved back to Potter Manor, including James, Lily and baby Harry as their cottage wasn't safe anymore. Dumbledore ended-up giving Pettigrew to the DMLE who threw him into Azkaban without a trial. They made sure to tell them that Pettigrew was an Animagus so that he couldn't escape that way like Sirius had done in another timeline.

Not long after, Harry and Hermione officially joined the Order of the Pheonix, something they hadn't managed to do in the future even with all of their pleading when they were teenagers.

Dumbledore, Harry and a team of Order Curse-Breakers went to the old Gaunt Shack with the goal of getting Marvolo Gaunt's Ring. Thanks to Harry's Parseltongue ability, something he had kept even after the Horcrux was gone, the team quickly made way of Voldemort's various traps until they found the Horcrux. Harry had already warned everyone that the Ring was cursed and would slowly kill anyone who put it on a finger. He had also warned Dumbledore in advance that the ring contained the Resurrection Stone so that Dumbledore wouldn't put it in a rash decision. Once it had been collected, Harry destroyed the ring and the diadem with the Sword of Gryffindor. Early on in the new Horcrux Hunt, Harry had gone to Hogwarts and got both the Sword from the Sorting Hat and Ravenclaw's Diadem before entering the Chamber of Secrets and killing the Basilisk with a conjured rooster. He then dropped Basilisk Venom on the Sword so that it would once again be strengthen by it and capable of destroying Horcruxes.

Harry authorised Dumbledore one use of the Resurrection Stone. He used his opportunity to seek redemption to his sister Arriana. Arriana Dumbledore told her brother that Grindelwald had been the one to kill him. She had said that she had been disappointed that her brother Albus hadn't taken better care of her but felt like he had redeemed himself with his fights against both Grindelwald and Voldemort. Harry then disposed of the Stone by throwing it at the bottom of the English Channel.

At that point, the only Horcruxes left were Riddle's Diary and Hufflepuff's Cup. The Order got Hufflepuff's Cup by telling the Goblins that they had an Horcrux in one of their Vaults. Since the Goblins loathed Horcruxes, they destroyed the Cup themselves. Harry almost laughed when he realised how dumb they had been to rob the bloody place when they could just have asked the Goblins to dispose of it.

During the summer of 1981, the Order raided Malfoy Manor and managed to capture Riddle's Diary and a few Death Eaters who were quickly given to the DMLE. Lord Lucius Malfoy was quickly arrested for Death Eater activities. When he confessed under Veritaserum, he was sent to Azkaban. Sirius, who became the Lord Black after Harry had helped him pull his head out of his own arse, had quickly annulled Narcissia Black's marriage to Lucius Malfoy. Her son Draco was officially adopted by the House of Black and his full name became Draco Black.

Now that they had destroyed every Horcrux, the Order waited until a good opportunity showed itself while continuing their fight against the Death Eaters. The opportunity came, ironically enough, on Halloween 1981.

Tom Marvolo Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, knew that the Potters had hid back in Potter Manor after his spy Peter Pettigrew had been revealed to be a Death Eater. Thankfully for him, Potter Manor was too big to be hidden under a Fidelius Charm. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters attacked Potter Manor. They quickly set an anti-apparition and anti-portkey wards around the building.

What they didn't know is that Potter Manor had been built by one Potter who had fought his whole life against Dark Wizards. The place was one of the safests locations in the world. Not only that, but the Manor had wards against anti-apparition and anti-portkey wards. Theses wards only surrounded the building and not the outside grounds but it meant than anyone keyed in the wards of Potter Manor could Apparate or use portkeys even when the enemy had placed wards against it.

Thanks to theses wards, Lily, Hermione, Fleamont, Euphemia and baby Harry and Rose had been able to portkeyed-out of the Manor to a safehouse. Both Lily and Hermione wanted to fight but were reminded by their husbands that they had to look out for their children first and that a mother was more important than a father to a child, even if it pained both men to say out loud.

The Order quickly portkeyed-in the Manor and the fighting broke out. The Order had the advantage of Apparition thanks to the wards of Potter Manor which meant that they could Apparate out of the way of a curse or quickly evacuate their injured and fallen.

Both Harry and James fought out strong and took down many Death Eaters. Both had been Aurors for a short time but James had quit to spend his time fully working for the Order and raising his family while Harry had quit out of frustration since it was unnecessarily complicated to work for the Aurors when you were world-famous. Both were renown duellists and fighting side-by-side, were unbeatable.

James eventually took a Cutting Curse to the forehead. It wasn't serious but it hit just hard enough that it would leave a scar. Harry would later say that James loved his time-travelling son so much that he had tried to get a matching scar on his head and instead got an ugly one.

After an hour during the fight, Voldemort himself showed up at Potter Manor and engaged in a fight with the two Potters. The Potters held their own against Voldemort while the later kept taunting them about their families. Eventually, the duo worked together and Harry managed to slice Voldemort's legs with an overpowered Cutting Curse which made Voldemort fall to the ground. Harry didn't lose the opportunity and sent another Cutting Curse to the neck, slicing down Voldemort's head.

Tom Marvolo Riddle was no more.

When Voldemort was killed, his Death Eaters quickly followed suit, all holding their Dark Marks in pain. The Order didn't understand at all what was happening has it hadn't gone this way in Harry and Hermione's timeline. They would later realise that Voldemort's first defeat in the other timeline weakened the Dark Mark enough that it hadn't managed to bring the Death Eaters down with Voldemort when Harry had killed him at Hogwarts.

James and Harry had quickly portkeyed-out to the safehouse where their families where hidden. When their wifes saw them, they threw themselves at their husbands and kissed them passionately. Harry then confirmed the news: Voldemort was dead.

The youngest generations of Potters would move out of the Manor a few months after the 'Battle of Potter Manor'. James and Lily moved back in their cottage while Harry and Hermione bought the one on its left which had been made vacant between the Potters' departure and return. Young Harry and Rose were raised as siblings by both families of Potters.

Fleamont and Euphemia adopted legally adopted Harry as their son. They still saw themselves as Harry's grandparents but it helped Harry since he was now officially a Potter, from the point of view of the law. Since Hermione was a muggle-born witch, it hadn't been as much of a problem and they just pretended that she had immigrated from another country. Fleamont and Euphemia later passed away, both because of Dragon Pox when Harry and Rose were three-years-old. Both families of Potters had inherited Potter Manor but neither one wanted to live there, being perfectly happy with their small cottages.

Both James and Harry re-joined the Aurors. The Aurors were the only ones, apart from the Order, that knew that Harry had been the one to kill Voldemort. Since Harry didn't want the fact known to keep his privacy, it wasn't revealed until years later.

Harry officially replaced Peter Pettigrew as the fourth member of the Marauders when he completed his first Animagus transformation. Harry gained an Animagus form of a wolf. The wolf's fur had kept the Potter famous untamable hair trait and it was all over the place which earned him the nickname of 'Spikes' from the others Marauders.

Lily finished her Potions and Charms Masteries and went on to teach Potions at Hogwarts to replace the retiring Horace Slughorn since Severus Snape hadn't been able to take the post thanks to the Dark Mark which had killed him.

Hermione would later write many books on various subjects. She became a best-selling Author. Her best-seller was her biography of the life of Tom Riddle. This was the first written reference of who had killed Voldemort which was revealed to be her husband Harry Potter, a fact confirmed by both the Auror Departement and the Order of the Pheonix.

Remus Lupin would go on to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts on Harry's recommendation. Harry and Hermione and told Dumbledore that Remus had been their best D.A.D.A teacher in their schooling. Since both were highly skilled in Defence, it said a lot. He would go on and marry another witch who had fought for the Order during the war and have a son: Christopher Remus Lupin. Christopher never became a werewolf.

Sirius, thanks to the title of Lord Black, helped the Wizenmagot reform the Wizarding World and bring it into the 20st century. It was still far away from the Muggle World but it was a good start. He would later marry a Muggle-Born witch and have twins: Altaïr James Black and Circunus Harry Black.

Harry and Hermione had a son of their own two years after they arrived back in time. They named him Daniel Fleamont Potter, in honour of Hermione's father and Harry's grandfather.

James and Lily's daughter was born a few days after Harry and Hermione's. Since the other Potters had already honoured Fleamont, the couple decided to honour the late Euphemia by naming their daughter Violet Euphemia Potter.

The children all grew-up together and when Harry and Rose's schooling started in 1991, they were both sorted in Gryffindor. Two years later, Professor McGonagall almost had a heart attack when she read the list of student names to attend the 1993-1994 school year and saw: Altair Black, Circunus Black, Daniel Potter, Violet Potter and Christopher Lupin. The next generation of Marauders had arrived.

'Maybe an early retirement wouldn't be too bad' she thought.
