Work Text:
Octavia had long stopped using an alarm clock to wake herself up in the morning because the first thing that always happened every day at seven was her parents arguing with each other. Well, more like her mother screaming her head off like a banshee while her father constantly made feeble excuses in a poor attempt to calm her down. She really was coming this close to learning how to use silence spells to avoid having her eardrums quaking in pain so she could get a few extra minutes of sleep, but she always kept putting it off. Sighing, the young princess got up and slowly reached for her phone to play her usual mind-numbing music to help her deal with the sad existence that was her life. Only to curse under her breath upon realizing that she forgot to plug it in last night and it was completely dead.
Grumbling, she replugged and dragged herself out of bed while still in her black nightgown. The smashing of objects against the floor and walls indicated that her mother was now even angrier, so whatever excuses her dad gave were weaker than usual. Then again, it took very little to light the short fuse that was her mother's anger issues.
Opening the door, she saw one of their imp servants waiting with a warm cup of coffee and nodded in thanks before sipping it. If she had her way, she'd just have breakfast in her room and wait for the usual fighting to be over and done with, but her father insisted on having a family breakfast every day. She had to snort upon thinking that. They hadn't been a family for years. Not since she was fourteen anyway. While she still had a connection with her Dad, one that was slowly being healed, her mother was a different story since nothing Octavia ever did seem to please her. The way she dressed to the music she listened to was constantly put down by Stella Goetia, who continuously complained that her daughter was not behaving like a proper princess. At least Dad is okay with me being me.
Walking down the halls, Octavia could remember how easily she got lost in their big home when she was younger, to the point where she would sometimes cry in fear of being lost forever. Fortunately, her father always seemed to have a sixth sense of his little owlet and always rescued her from her worries. And while she still didn't know every corner of this large home, all she needed to get to the dining room was follow her mother's shrieking voice.
"— AND ANOTHER THING! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO JOIN ME AT THE VON ELDRICH'S YESTERDAY FOR LUNCH, BUT YOU NEVER SHOWED UP! I WAS FUCKING EMBARRASSED TO BE THERE WITHOUT MY HUSBAND! ALL THE OTHER WOMEN WERE SNICKERING BEHIND MY BACK! WHAT THE FUCK WE'RE YOU DOING?! FUCKING THAT IMP?! HANGING OUT WITH THE LOWER CLASS AGAIN?! OR JUST READING YOUR STUPID BOOK WHILE JERKING OFF TO YOURSELF?!"
Octavia sighed before opening the door to the dining room, where a full seven-course breakfast awaited her on the table...or it would be if half of it wasn't on the floor, walls, and ceiling from the angry bird demon she called her mother. Stella was shouting at Stolas, sitting on his chair in silence, while Octavia decided to sit as far as possible to avoid any other objects being thrown. She was about to gather some eggs and bacon when Stella let out a loud scream. "WILL YOU SAY SOMETHING ALREADY?! YOU'VE BEEN COMPLETELY SILENT SINCE YOU GOT HERE!"
That got Octavia's attention. She turned around with a raised eyebrow to see her father sitting with not a look of fear or pleading as always. Instead, he was actually glaring at his wife. This made Octavia nearly drop her butter knife. Her father might have been a powerful demon, she had seen it first hand, but when dealing with his wife, he was as weak as a kitten. He always did his best to calm her down, raise his hands in defeat, and try to divert the conversation away from them, especially in front of Octavia, but he never once raised his voice to his wife.
There was a brief moment of silence as Stella started gaining back her breath, and Stolas just sat there, arms folded with a raised eyebrow. Finally, he spoke, but what he said surprised both Goetia demons. "You done talking, bitch?"
"...What?" Stella asked in what had to be the quietest that Octavia had ever heard her speak. She couldn't blame Stella as even Octavia felt like she was about to fall back in shock overhearing what her father had said.
"Jesus H. Christ. I know you can shriek like a fricken girl in puberty, but you're loud enough to wake the dead," Stolas replied as he rubbed where his ears were. "I swear I was going to go deaf from all your bitching."
"You...how.... you're…." Stella looked like a cross between a confused owl and a raging falcon by her husband's response.
Standing up, Stolas put one hand on his waist and leaned on it while pointing his thumb to the door. "Look toots, you obviously have issues. I don't know if it's your time of the month, you got a spiked cock up your ass, sand in your vagina, or all of the above on top of being a fucking cunt that makes Hillary Clinton look like the Virgin Mary. How about you walk it off and leave me to eat some breakfast in peace before I take this ham and shove it down your throat. Capiche?"
Now Octavia was standing up in disbelief and worry. What the actual fuck?!
Did her father pretty much tell her mother of all beings to fuck herself? Her father?! The one who never raised his voice to anyone?!
Stella just stood there, gaping like a fish, before she let out a window-shattering scream and stomped off. She literally pushed the door off her hinges, and the sound of further destruction in her wake echoed in Octavia's ears. The sounds of screaming servants made it clear that she was not in a forgiving move and Octavia hoped that the rest of the house heard that shriek and were finding shelter to take cover under.
"Jeeze and I thought Verosika was bad…." Stolas muttered before sitting down and grabbing a sausage. He put his feet up on the table and started looking through his phone. It took him a few minutes to look up and notice that Octavia was staring at him as if he had grown six dozen heads. "Oh, hey. What's up?"
Immediately, Octavia had a knife in her hands and was at this imposter's neck with it in less than a second. To his credit, Stolas was utterly calm and looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Uh, you do know that's a butter knife, right? What are you going to do? Butter my neck open?"
"Who the fuck are you, and where is my real dad!" Octavia demanded with a growl. "My dad would never call my mother a bitch, never yell back at her, and the fact that you didn't call me Starfire like he always does?! I'm not an idiot! Who the fuck are you, and where is my dad?! Because if you so much as hurt him—"
Faster than Octavia could process, the imposter flicked his wrists and stole the knife out of her hands before she could process. He then tossed it aside and finished his sausage before rolling his eyes. "Told Stolas this wasn't going to work. Look, Princess, your father is fine. Trust me. Also, never try pointing a knife at an assassin. We tend to take them and shove them through the hearts of those threatening us. You're lucky that you're Stolas's kid, and he adores you more than anything."
"Assassin...what a minute…." Octavia's eyes widened as she realized who she was talking to. There was only one assassin that had any close connections with her father. "What the fuck? You're that guy my dad's sleeping with?! And you're in his body?! Ewww!"
"Got it in one, and the name's Blitz. The 'O' is silent." Blitzo stood up and used Stolas's arms to rub the back of his neck. "Trust me, I'm not fully thrilled with this either. I'm getting used to having longer limbs than normal and the fact that I have access to some pretty powerful world-destroying knowledge and powers at my fingertips. If it wasn't for the fact that I promised your father that I wouldn't use them unless I'm in an emergency, I would totally be abusing this magic stuff for sure."
Octavia could feel a headache coming along and wished she was back in bed then dealing with this crap. Especially with the fact that she was with him. While she might have forgiven her father for sleeping with someone outside of her mother (Especially when she found out she was cheating first), that didn't mean he liked this asshole who had helped play a role in her family's issues. "Okay, explain what the hell is going on. And it better not have anything to do with you and my Dad in bed. Because if this is some kind of weird sex play you two are doing, I'm going to just jump off the house head first."
"Well, it's not," Blitzo said, crossing his arms. "I was helping your Dad with an experiment in his Altar Room—"
"Wait, the Altar Room?!" Octavia asked in disbelief while scowling. "Not even I'm allowed in there! That's like his most sacred of places where he does his magic!"
"Well, put that up with him. I don't make the rules," Blitzo said before rubbing his chin. "Or do I, since I control this body?"
"Forget it! Just continue," Octavia huffed.
"Anyway, I was helping him with one of his magical experiments when something went wrong. Needless to say, we woke up a few minutes later in each other's body," Blitzo explained with a heavy sigh. "Thankfully, this isn't permanent. It just lasts for about twenty-four hours, so we're filling in for each other until this goes away. I'm here doing whatever the fuck Stolas does, and he's working with my employees at I.M.P."
"Dad's going to be an assassin for a full day?" Octavia asked, tilting her head. "Can he even shoot a gun?"
"I told my employees to help him learn the basics. I'm sure he's doing fine."
***
BANG!
“AAAAA! MY SPLEEN!"
In Blitzo's body, Stolas winced as he rushed over to a bleeding Moxxie and started healing him with a quick spell. He might not have access to all his powers, but what little he had was still enough to be helpful. Once the blood and bullet were out, a pale Moxxie was lifted up by a nervous-looking Stolas. "Um, sorry about that. I think I forgot to put the safety off."
"Okay... let's go over gun safety…. again …." Moxxie winced as he swore he would be yelling at the real Blitzo once the day was done.
***
"Yup, perfectly fine," Blitzo said as he clapped his hands. "So, what was Stolas going to be doing today?"
"Well, he and I were supposed to go out together for some quality time," Octavia said with a huff. "But that's ruined thanks to you."
"Oh, come on," Blitzo said, waving his hand. "We can still do that. We just go out for a bit, hang around, spend some money, and be back before dinner. By the time we get back, I'm sure the spell will put us in our rightful bodies again."
"Why the fuck would I want to hang out with you? I don't like you," Octavia pointed out with a harsh glare. "You may be sleeping with my dad, but that doesn't mean I don't have to hang out with you."
"Well, Stolas wants me to do what he was going to do, and if that means hanging out with you for some fake father and daughter time, then that's what we'll do," Blitzo said, shrugging. "If it helps, we can go wherever you want, do whatever you want, and I'll pay for whatever you want."
Octavia opened her mouth but then paused and thought about it. Her outings with her father were always a split between the two of them about what to do together. And while her father didn't choose anything wrong like "Loo Loo Land" again, the fact that she could spend the entire day doing what she wanted to do was tempting.
Sighing, Octavia hoped she wasn't going to regret this when she nodded her head. "Fine, but you better not act weird, or else I'm calling it off."
"Great. Just let me get dressed, and we can get going, Olivia," Blitzo said.
"My name is Octavia."
"That's what I said."
***
This had to be the weirdest thing that Octavia had ever had to do in her entire life. Here she was heading to her favorite shop with the guy sleeping with her father. Said guy also happened to be in her dad's body. It was so strange seeing her father, who was always poised and graceful, slouching on his back on one end of the limo while sipping a martini made from the car's mini-bar. He wasn't even dressed in his usual cloak and crown that he often liked to wear when going out and instead was just wearing a black pair of jean shorts, a white t-shirt, and a red trench coat with white lacing.
"Hmm, I can get used to this," Blitzo said as he finished his latest drink before looking over and raising his glass. "You want one?"
"I'm seventeen," Octavia pointed out.
"So? That's like one year away from eighteen. Besides, my Loona was drinking long before she turned nineteen. Then again, hellhounds can take drinks better than most demons or some shit like that," Blitzo said, standing up with a lick of his lips as he prepared to make another one.
Octavia turned away to hide the twitching on her lips. The truth was she was always curious about drinking alcohol, but her parents made it clear she couldn't until the legal age. "You realize it's like nine in the morning, right?"
"Ugh, fine. If you want to be that prudish, we can get drinks later," Blitzo said, rolling his eyes as he tossed the glass into the trash bag. "And here I thought Stolas's daughter would be a lot more fun considering the type of things he likes to do."
"I don't want to hear about the bed games you two play!" Octavia growled, which made Blitzo snort.
"I wasn't talking about that," He answered, much to her surprise. "I was talking about our dates. The movies, dinners, ice hockey, laser tag, and that one time we went deep-sea diving in the Lake of Envy. That was quite an adventure."
Octavia couldn't help but scowl while her nails began to draw blood while digging deep into her skin. Octavia knew her father had a life outside of her. She was trying to be independent, after all. So why did it bother her so much that this asshole was spending so much time with her Dad? And not with me?
"I take it that it was just the two of you?" Octavia bitterly asked, looking outside the window to focus on the passing buildings.
"Not all the time," Blitzo answered, leaning his arm against his seat. "Sometimes it was with my employees. I'm surprised you never joined us, considering all the times he's asked you."
This made Octavia's neck snap to Blitzo with wide eyes. "Wait, what?"
"Yeah, he's asked you to join us for a few of our sessions together," Blitzo said, shrugging. "Something about getting us to know each other. Of course, you kept just blowing him off, saying you didn't want to or outright ignored him most of the time from what I hear."
Octavia opened her mouth to say something but stopped as she recalled a few times when her Dad did ask her to join in some fun sessions with Blitzo. Naturally, she had wanted nothing to do with the imp, so she kept telling him to fuck off and just outright ignored any other future attempts as time went on. Her eyes soon lost their rage and narrowed downward with a hint of regret as she realized that maybe she was being a bit too hard on her father. It was clear that he liked Blitzo even if the reasons never made sense to her and wanted the two most important people in his life to like each other. Yet, I really haven't made an effort to do so.
Deep down, she knew why. Because she is still afraid of her father leaving her for him. Running away and never returning like other demon lords who decided to be with their secret lovers while leaving their spouses and children to rot. Her father assured her that he would never do that, and Octavia wanted to believe him...but still...
"Anyway, where are we going?" Blitzo asked, knocking her out of her thoughts. "Is it some typical teen place like the mall or something?"
"I doubt you've heard of it," Octavia said, trying to keep her mind off her previous thoughts. "It's called Stylish Occult. "
"Stylish Occult? Sweet! I haven't been there in a while," Blitzo said, much to Octavia's surprise. He began to rub his chin while thinking out loud. "I should get a few things for Loona while I'm there. Since I have access to Stolas's bank account, I can really get those silver chained pentagrams she's been looking for."
"Wait, you've been to Stylish Occult? Also, whose Loona?" Octavia asked, recognizing the name as a repeated one from the imp.
"My daughter. Well, adopted daughter. She's a hellhound," Blitzo said with a grin as he reached for his wallet before frowning. "Damnit, that's right. Stolas has my clothes which have all my pictures of my baby girl!"
Octavia blinked a few times before shaking her head. "I'm sorry. Back up. You have a daughter? A hellhound daughter?"
"Yeah, is that such a big deal? Wait, you're not a hellhound hater, are you? Because if so, I'm tossing your ass out of the window onto the highway. Stolas's daughter or not," Blitzo warned with his eyes slightly glowing red.
"No, I'm just surprised," Octavia said with an honest expression. "You don't seem the kind to adopt a kid."
"Well, I didn't adopt her when she was little. I did it when she was fifteen," Blitzo explained with a warm smile on his face while his eyes became all melancholy. "I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She reminded me of myself at her age. Lost, hurt, and angry at the world. I didn't want her to suffer like I did, so I adopted her and took her in." He sighed with a depressing tone. "Things are...okay, for the most part, I guess. She's never called me Dad and rarely gives me the kind of affection a father wants…."
He then smiles and looks determined. "But one day, I'm going to get her to call me Dad . I've come close a few times, so I know deep down she does care about me. I just gotta keep doing it and show that she can trust me. Because even if it takes forever for her to love me. I'll always love her."
He sighed and just looked out the window. "I just hope one day I can see it."
***
"Alright, I'm going to say this once and only once to you. You may be the prince of whatever the shit realm you rule, but you are in Blitz's body. Which means you will treat it as if it was the body of your daughter. You will treat it with respect, take care of it, and Satan help you if you damage it even one bit. I'm already annoyed that I have to deal with this shit, but if it means making sure Blitz comes back in one piece to a body he can have his soul rest in, I'm willing to put up with it. But let's make one thing straight. You are not Blitz. You may look like him, sound like him, and might be in his body, but you are not him. And if you so much as do anything to this body, I will find yours, rip it apart, eat it, and shit it over every freeway in the pentagram. So I mean this when I say this: Don't. Fuck. Up."
Stolas looked up at the growling hellhound, who had asked for a private audience with him before they went to do the assassination job they were assigned to do today. She continued to lean over him for the sake of intimation, but Stolas could see what was clearly going through her mind in her eyes.
With a soft and caring smile, he asked, "You really care about your father. Don't you, Loona?"
"...Yes," Loona whispered before turning away. "But don't tell anyone…."
"I won't," Stolas said before he patted her back. "Promise from a father who understands"
Loona's tail wagged a bit before the two returned to the office.
***
Octavia just sat there in silence as she stared at the imp that she thought was always loud, crude, and outright annoying. And yet, for the first time, she could see why her father might be in love with him. The way he spoke about his daughter was clear that it was a messy relationship, similar to the one Octavia had with her own, but the fact that this Loona still stayed with Blitzo even after she turned eighteen had to prove there was something between them. Plus, the way he talked about her with pride and care made Octavia realize that there was some kind of positive side to him. Even if he wasn't the best, it was clear he wanted to be a good father.
With a soft smile, Octavia relaxed and asked, "What's she like? Is she cool?"
And so Blitzo began to talk about his daughter all the way to the store.
***
Upon arriving at Stylish Occult, Octavia was glad Blitzo didn't do anything to stick out like a sore thumb to the owners and workers in the store. Most of them were just lazily texting or nodding to their earbuds due to so few customers. Since Blitzo was letting her get whatever she wanted, Octavia quickly took advantage of that by getting a lot of high-sale clothes she had always wanted but was prevented from getting. Her father always insisted that she learn how to save her money and buy what was necessary, ignoring that they were technically richer than every rich person on Earth ten times over. They could buy an entire city and still have enough to pay for college tuition six or more times.
Once she had all the clothing, items, and personal collections that she had wanted, the owl princess went to her favorite area: The Taxidermy Section. Very few stores in the area sold her these unique dead stuffed figures of various creatures both on Earth and in Hell. Most of them were sadly more in the capital region than anywhere else. Still, Stylish Occult always had access to some incredible animals for her collection.
Octavia focused her eyes on a particular Bald Eagle from the United States that caught her eyes. She had always found the avian ones the most interesting, being one herself, and was always looking for a good quality bird one. The eagle was perched on a fake wooden stood with its wings spread out and its beak wide as if ready to strike. A perfect stance that would be great for her collection.
"What's you got there?" Blitzo asked from behind. Turning around, Octavia was surprised by his choice of attire. Mainly because her father's body was wearing the new clothes that were obviously bought from the store. He wore a vintage black and shiny grey velvet coat with silver buttons and a collar in a perfect v-shaped figure. Over it, unbuttoned, was a thick black coat that one would expect for a cold afternoon with a blanket of dark red feathers as cuffs for the edges of the robe-like hems for the back. The black leather pants were a good size for her father's slim figure and black latex boots for the lower area. "What? Something on my face?"
"Uh, no," Octavia replied, shaking her head before snapping out of it. "I'm just surprised how good my dad looks in that. Most of the time, he doesn't know anything about goth fashion."
"Because, unlike bird boy, I do," Blitzo said, proudly placing his fingers on his chest and puffing it out. "I've got a sense of style. Plus, it helps that Loona and I pretty much come here once a month together to try various outfits on. So, I've learned from her how to fit into the goth look. Personally, I think I look sexy in this as your father. What do you think?"
"One, ew. Please don't put it like that," Octavia muttered, pinching her nostrils. Taking a deep breath, she looked up and did another check before nodding. "Honestly, it does look good on Dad's body. I say it's a keeper."
"Sweet, I'll take it," Blitzo said with a grin before noticing the Bald Eagle in Octavia's hands. "Uh, princess? If you want a pet, I suggest a pet store. The ones around here are kinda dead."
Rolling her eyes, Octavia replied, "It's a taxidermy section. They're supposed to be dead."
"Really?" Blitzo looked around and noticed all the examples before him. "Huh, never pictured you to be into this kinda stuff."
"That's what most people say," Octavia admitted as she looked around at a few others for their quality. "I honestly don't think it's a big deal. Everyone has a hobby."
"True, but why this one? Like, legitimately curious here," Blitzo asked, eyebrow raised.
"I guess I just like how it's a final still moment of a figure's life," Octavia said as she gazed into the eyes of a two-headed demon boar. "The sight of such a strong and living creature now a husk of itself as its expression and stance is stood in a single period in time forever just appeals to me. Kinda a moment that crosses between an ending and immortality you know?"
"...Not really, but whatever floats your boat," Blitzo said with a shrug before grinning. "Remind me to give you three annoying Ex-Cherubs to stuff for your birthday."
"Now that would be an awesome gift," Octavia said with a chuckle.
"Hey! Octavia! Didn't know you were coming today!" A snooty-sounding voice shouted from across the store, which made the teenage demon go wide-eyed. She covered her face with her beanie and grumbled about her bad luck as a muscle-bound horse-looking humanoid with long green flowing hair walked over. He wore a "Vectalica" band TV-Shirt while wearing black leather pants and an upside-down cross around his neck. A few of the female demon workers were blushing at the sight of his muscular body and chiseled face. All Octavia could do was hold in her barf. "Fancy seeing you here, Princess. Are you looking for something sexy to wear? I don't mind giving an opinion."
"Go fuck yourself, Oris," Octavia grumbled as she crossed her arms and looked away.
Oris just chuckled and wrapped his arms around the blushing and annoyed owl princess. "Oh, I'd rather you fuck me, chicky."
"Excuse me, what the fuck is this?" Blitzo asked, eyebrow raised and looking disturbed.
"Oh, hey, Prince Stolas. Didn't see you there. Just talking to my possible future fiance over here is all," Oris said with a grin.
"F-Fiance?" Blitzo stuttered in surprise before Octavia grabbed him by the arm and dragged him away. "When the fuck did you get tied the knot?!"
"I didn't!" Octavia hissed while checking to see if Oris was listening in, but the meathead was too busy focusing on his looks in a nearby mirror. Groaning, Octavia whispered, "He belongs to the 37th House of the Goetia Family, and my parents and his parents are in negotiations for a marriage contract between us. Dad's been fighting it, but Mom's been pushing it since she thinks it's a good match for me."
"Wait, you rich folks still do arrange marriages? I know Stolas and Stella ended up like that, but it was hundreds of years ago. That's like ancient types of fucked up," Blitzo said in disbelief.
"Trust me, I'm not thrilled about it either. After seeing how my parents' marriage has become, marrying a guy I don't like is the last thing I want," Octavia bitterly replied as she crossed her arms. "Of course, I can't have any say in this, but I'd give anything to get rid of this prick!"
"Permanently or temporarily?" Blitzo asked, grinning.
"Either one, why?" Octavia asked, raising her eyebrow before she realized what he meant. "Wait, you're going to kill him?"
"Well, I do have access to all of Stolas's powers, so it would be a shame to not use it. Especially since I'm an assassin and all," Blitzo said as he cracked his knuckles and grinned. "Consider it a freebie since I'm with your dad or something."
"Are you sure you want to do that? I mean, didn't Dad say anything to you about using his powers except in an emergency?" Octavia asked. "That is what you said, right?"
"Eh, maybe? I don't know. I was too busy trying to form a star in my hands when he was talking about it," Blitzo said with a shrug. "Besides, it's just like Spider-Man's uncle says in those comics. With great power comes great big booty bitches."
"That is not what he says," Octavia replied deadpan.
"Eh, it's close enough. Now watch a master at work," Blitzo said as he walked over to Oris and put his arm around the young man's neck.
"Say, Oris? Since there is a chance you and I might be a future son and father-in-law duo, I was wondering if I could get a chance to talk to you about how you might treat my daughter?" Blitzo asked, doing his best to pretend to be Stolas.
"Oh sure, dude. But don't worry. I'll treat her nice." The horse then grinned. "In bed, that is."
"Right, about that, you see— OH MY SATAN! IS THAT VEROSIKA MAYDAY AND JEFFERY EPSITINE MAKING OUT ACROSS THE STREET?!"
Once everyone but Octavia's attention was grilled to the windows as they rushed over to see Blitzo's lie, the assassin made his move. He grabbed Oris by the throat, shoved him into a nearby dressing room, and rushed in before closing it. The sound of horrified and painful whinnies followed by cries of pain and suffering followed afterward, along with the sounds of magical blasts and unholy summons. Of course, only Octavia was focused on the whole thing while wondering what the hell Blitzo was doing, but upon reflection found out she really didn't care. She checked the other people in the store, still searching with their phones for the fake kissing couple. Minutes later, the sounds stopped, and Blitzo walked out with a smile while wiping some blood off his feathers.
"Hey, I don't see them," a small imp goth complained as everyone looked at Blitzo, who shrugged.
"Oh, well, must have been the wind," Blitzo said before pointing at the now bloodstained dressing room. "Oh no! Someone's committed suicide! What a tragic event! And such a young man too! Why does Satan take the young before it's their time?!"
"Ah, great. Sixth one this week," the imp grumbled before heading over to the janitor's room. "Stupid nihilistic teenager culture."
Octavia's eyes widened as Blitzo took her by the hand and hurried them over to the cash register to quickly pay for their stuff. Once the transaction was done, they hurried back to the limo posthaste. By the time they were on the road, Octavia had just come to realize that Blitzo had killed her potential fiance. "Um, you do realize you just killed Prince Obrara's son, right? As in the son of a demon prince?"
"Relax, I've faked suicides before. And with teenagers being the depressed, lifeless, and hope-deprived generation they are today, nobody's going to question it," Blitzo said, relaxing on the seats. "Besides, you should be thanking me for getting you out of that sticky situation. Unless they have a second son, I need to take care of as well."
"No," Octavia whispered before blushing and smiling. "Um, thanks, Blitz."
"No worries. Anyway, let's get some lunch. Want to head over to WacDonalds?" Blitzo suggested as he rubbed his stomach.
"What's WacDonalds?"
***
Octavia liked to think that she wasn't a spoiled brat despite being of demonic noble blood, but even she had to admit she wasn't expecting to have lunch in a fast-food restaurant. In fact, this was the first time she had ever been in one. Most of the time, she went to high-paying restaurants and clubs for meals, but Blitzo was insistent on her tasting commoner food that, in his words, "Had the best fries this side of the Pentagram," and so she agreed if only for curiosity's sake.
"Is it...always this crowded with kids?" Octavia asked as she walked through the hellish archway doors. There were a lot of brats, mostly imps, running around from their tables to the playpens while trying out their new toys or driving their parents insane.
"It's part of the charm. My own fam...uh, I just came around here as a kid when I was growing up is all," Blitzo said, trying to hide the moment he had paused and hesitated. Octavia, however, was sharp and picked it up very quickly, but she pretended not to notice.
"So do we wait for our waiter and grab a seat or...?" Octavia asked nervously. She really felt out of her element here, especially with so many staring at them in confusion. It wasn't every day that two Goetia demons came into such an establishment.
"Nope, you walk up and order what you want. Do you want a kid's meal, Via?" Blitzo teased, which earned him a stone-cold glare. "Right, I'll just wing it then. Heh, get it? Wing it? Owls? Never mind."
Blitzo walked up and started giving out an order while Octavia decided to check her phone for messages. Surprisingly, a few from her mother asked where she was and where her father was, but the young princess thought it best to just avoid talking to her. No doubt her mother had finally calmed down from her little anger fest and was thinking clearly. Even Stella would no doubt figure out something was wrong with her husband.
"Alright, let's get ourselves a seat. Preferably one where I can stretch these damn long legs," Blitzo said as he walked up to her a few minutes later carrying a large tray of different wrapped burgers, buckets of chickens nuggets, large containers of fries, and two extra-large drinks of coke. "I got a bit of everything so you could find what you like. Save for all the fish stuff. That shit is toxic and will kill you."
Shrugging, Octavia found them a seat for them, and she slowly looked at all the food that no doubt was going to make her ten pounds fatter by the end of all this. Blitzo didn't seem to give a damn as he was already digging into what looked to be some kind of triple patty burger with several vegetables and meats she couldn't recognize because it seemed so uncooked. All while grabbing a handful of fries and stuffing them into her father's beak.
"Oh yeah. That's the shit. Nothing like a Triple Wac Burger and those crispy golden greasy fries after a long day of shopping." Blitzo then raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to eat?"
Octavia looked at the food and kinda winced. Honestly, she was pretty hesitant, but she couldn't back out now like a pussy. Sighing, Octavia took one of the yellow wrapped burgers and unwrapped it. Gulping, she looked at the sloppy joe-like burger before closing her eyes and moving forward with one big bite that followed.
A split second later, her eyes went wide as her taste buds went wild. It felt like a new years party in her mouth, and she was about to fly up to heaven. Digging in more, Octavia moaned with pleasure as her tongue felt new tastes that were beyond anything she had ever eaten before. For a girl who had eaten the finest dining money could buy as a royal princess, she wondered how the hell she never once ate something so good as this food.
Having eaten her first fast-food burger, she quickly moved on to the other delicacies for her choosing. Different patties, chicken, beef, and pork, were all pleasurable and had unique tastes with each bite. The nuggets were the absolute bomb. Even though they didn't taste like actual white meat, she still found herself popping three of them in her mouth each time. And when she tried the fries?
"Oh, I have to have these with Sundays," Octavia whispered in delight as she let out a tiny chirp. "This is the best comfort food ever!"
"Glad to see you like what we normal folk eat, Princess," Blitzo chuckled as he wrapped another burger wrapper before tossing it aside. "Your dad was the same when I took him here the first time."
"You seriously took Dad here on a date?" Octavia asked with a chuckle.
"Yeah, my first choice after we started getting more serious. Kinda lame, huh?" Blitzo said with an embarrassed grin. "Honestly, I always feel embarrassed when I plan the dates. He's got access to so much money and connections that I feel like I'm just trying to overcompensate for something. But he doesn't care. In fact, he really seems to like it. Or maybe he just likes being with me."
Octavia paused before slowly looking at Blitzo, who was looking at the side with a slight smile on his face and a dreamy look in his eyes. It was weird seeing her father's face act like this, but it only made her more uncertain about all of this. Much as she hated to admit it, hanging out with Blitzo wasn't that bad. In fact, it was kinda fun, and he had been behaving well.
I guess he's not as bad as I thought he was, Octavia thought as she rested her head on her palm while sipping her soda. Still…
"Blitz? Can I ask you a question?" She asked, getting his attention. "And I need you to be serious about this because...this is my dad I'm talking about. Things might be a bit strained between us, but I still...I still love him…." She took a deep breath. "I'm not going to pretend that this relationship between you and him is easy for me. Honestly, I was pretty pissed off about the whole thing. But...I need to know...do you really care about him? Or is this all for that book?"
Blitzo was silent for a bit as he closed his eyes and looked deep in thought. Octavia waited for a bit, nibbling on a few nuggets before he finally sighed. "You know? That's kinda the same question I keep asking myself every day."
"I don't understand?" Octavia asked, tilting her head.
Sighing, Blitzo leaned back and looked at the ceiling for a bit before closing his eyes. "Look, Octavia. When I seduced your father for that book, it was all because I was desperate for a means to start the company. I didn't care who I had to fuck or kill because I was gambling everything on it. Not just for my sake, but for Loona, Moxxie, and Millie's as well. I honestly didn't have a plan to sneak in, get the book, and get out. Having sex with Stolas was just a desperate out-of-the-blue plan, but your dad really was a lonely guy that night."
"Skip the sex if you can. I'd like to not barf out my lunch," Octavia asked.
"Well, I didn't think much of what Stolas and I had other than him wanting me as some kind of booty call to fuck with. I mean, rich people do that a lot, right? Marry some hot-looking person but fuck behind their backs when it gets too much? And your dad was really clingy to me," Blitzo moaned.
"Yeah, I got that picture on the day we met," Octavia winced as she recalled her father talking to Blitzo that one morning and complimenting his dick.
"Yet at the same time, he kept wanting to be part of my life," Blitzo said, waving his hand around. "He would ask me how my day was. If I was healthy. If I wanted to hang out or go out to some festival or something. I kept trying to push him away, only dealing with his desperate needs for attention only when necessary. Yet, the more he persisted, the more I just gave up and let him slowly into my life," Blitzo claimed before shaking his head. "Then…a few things happened…."
The tone in his voice made Octavia go quiet as he looked down in shame. "I kinda fucked up by getting Moxxie and me captured by some humans one day. Millie and Loona came to save us, and we kicked their asses, but at the last second, they nearly had us until Stolas arrived and rescued our asses. I didn't think he would ever go so far as to do that. I mean, if I died or something, he would just resummon his book and go fuck another imp. That's what I always assumed, but he came for me. He came for us. And that's when I started...kinda maybe thinking things were going to work out…."
"I'm guessing something messed that up?" Octavia asked before recalling something. "Wait a minute, is this around the time my Dad was in that total depressing mood for like two weeks? Did you do that?"
"Kinda? But we both kinda disappointed each other," Blitzo said with a regretful tone. She then looked at her eyes and saw something that made her heart stop.
Sadness.
Utter terrible sadness.
Octavia nearly felt her own eyes start to mist as even though these were her father's eyes, she was sure that she was looking into the spirit of Blitzo, and it was filled with utter depression. It was like looking into a vortex of misery, pain, and regret. Like the entire world had, for one split moment, lost all sense of happiness in the universe, and there was nothing but a shell of darkness. They say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and if such a thing were true, then Blitzo had the most sorrowful soul in all of Hell.
"We...had a bad night…." Blitzo muttered. "It's really my fault, but needless to say, I found myself being exposed for the asshole I really am deep inside...and your dad? Well, I guess he finally saw the consequences of being with me." Octavia was about to ask what happened, but he held out his hand. "Don't ask. Please. I'm sorry, but it's too painful. Let's just say that night I realized how much I fucked up my own life and hurt the people I once cared about because...something happened to me when I was young, and I let it dictate me my whole life."
Covering his face with her father's arms, Blitzo whispered, "My greatest fear is being alone in this universe, and that's how I've always felt for years. Because I felt I deserved to be alone for what I did. So whenever people got close to me….I ended up pushing them away and hurting them because I was so terrified. It's funny. I want to be loved, and yet I fear it all the same."
"...But you're better now, right?" Octavia asked, leaning forward. "You and my Dad made up, right?"
"Yeah," Blitzo said with a heavy sigh as she stood up with a small smile. "He never gave up on me. Even when I pushed him away and I…Well, that's a story for another day. I think we both realized we needed to be better and grow up. I'm not saying it's been easy, but your dad and I decided to restart our relationship. Try it out as friends first, and over time, I began to really fall for him. I'm not sure I'm ready to love him, and I think he understands that, but what we have for now is enough to make me really care about him."
He then looked at her and frowned. "However, I am sorry that I helped ruin your family. I honestly never thought of the consequences when I slept with Stolas, and you got hurt in the crossfire. I don't blame you for hating me, but I am sorry nonetheless for it." He then reached out and touched Octavia's hand. "Your father's a good man. A better man than I am. If you want to hate someone in all of this, hate me. Not him. And I promise you, whatever happens, he'll never abandon you."
Octavia just silently looked at the hand and, for a second, could imagine it being Blitzo's actual hand instead of her father's. She just said nothing but squeezed it for a bit before returning to hear the meal as no other words were spoken.
***
"I just sometimes wonder if I'm really in love with him or if I'm just that desperate for attention," Stolas said as he wiped the blood off the rapier he had used to stab their client, some wealthy British aristocrat, in the heart with. "I know that all the money and power makes living the noble life look grand, but I'm so lonely. Most of my so-called friends only cared about me for my power, and my parents were never around for me. Octavia and I used to be close, but I've screwed that up, and Stella? Quite frankly, I'm terrified of her even though I know I can obliterate her with but one spell."
Sighing, Stolas walked over to a small mini-bar and made himself a drink. "But then I met Blitzo and he...he treated me so differently, and...for the first time in my life I felt like I was with someone I could trust...but I messed it up so much in those early months that he thought I only wanted him for sex, but I wanted more! I needed to be more! But that's the problem, isn't it? Deep down, I'm selfish for my own happiness that I unconsciously put aside others due to my own blindness. How can I learn to truly love someone if I cannot take heed of their own desires?"
"...Honestly, your majesty?" Millie said as she walked through the blood-stained floor. "Romance isn't a one-way street. It's giving and taking for both sides. You need to give Blitzo what he wants and take what he gives you. You two need both to want to be with someone who cares about you, and I understand it's a new experience, but time and patience will make you learn. Even if it is slow."
"Do you really think there is a chance for Blitzy and me to have what you and Moxxie have, Mildred?" Stolas asked, biting his lip.
Millie smiled and nodded. "Sure, I do. Bet my life on it, in fact." The sound of approaching guards made her ears perk up. "And we should probably leave before we waste our lives on the reinforcements coming."

Having eaten their fill, Blitzo and Octavia decided they had done enough hanging around and headed back for the palace. Carrying their stuff inside, the two took off their coats and shoes while Blitzo stretched his back. "Hmm, man, am I tired. Seriously, Stolas needs to work out more cause he's got no stamina in this body." Looking over to Octavia, Blitzo smirked. "So, how did we do? Good enough?"
"Hmm, I guess it wasn't so bad," Octavia commented with a smirk of her own. It wasn't the most fun day in the world, but she didn't hate it. "Honestly, I—"
"Excuse me, Master and Mistress Octavia?" One of the imp servants interrupted as they walked over to them with a nervous look on his face. "Mistress Stella wishes to see you two in the living room at once."
"Ugh, fine. Let's see what bitch-tits wants," Blitzo said as he walked over in the direction of the living room while Octavia followed with a worried look on her face. She thought back to the constant text from her mother and felt a bad feeling creeping into her stomach that wasn't the Double Quarter Big Wac.
Stella watched with cold eyes and gripping hands sitting on her favorite chair as Blitzo and Octavia walked into the room. Sighing, Blitzo folded his arms and asked, "What do you want now, Stella?"
"...Where is my husband, imp?" Stella said, surprising both of them. She scowled before standing up with fury on her face. "Oh, don't give me that look. I admit I didn't put two and two together until I calmed down after your vulgar insult to me, but I'm not a fool. You're that stupid plebian imp that's been sleeping with my idiotic husband, right? Blitzo, I believe?"
"The 'O' is silent," Blitzo said before snorting. "And yeah, I guess you got a brain up there after all."
"I'll ask you again, imp, before you really test my patience," Stella stated before marching forward until she was inches away from Blitzo's impassive face. "Where is Stolas?"
"He's fine. Especially when he's away from you," Blitzo answered with a snarl. "I honestly knew it was bad for him, but seeing how you outright treated me, thinking I was him? I can see why he was so desperate to sleep with me in the first place. And I thought I was a bad partner to my past lovers."
"Do not dare assume to know anything about what goes on between me and my husband, you imp!" Stella screamed, eyes glowing. "Thanks to you and my husband being unable to keep his cock in his pants, this family has become the laughing stock of the entire pentagram with our reputation in tatters! Not to mention you have broken this entire family with your affair!"
"Oh, please!" Blitzo snorted. "You were sleeping with dozens of other guys on the sideway before I fucked Stolas the first time. I did my research into your family before I tried to steal the book, and I saw you sleeping with half a dozen guys in those two weeks I stalked you." He poked directly on a blushing Stella's chest. "Don't go thinking you have the high ground here, missy!"
Octavia blinked in surprise. She knew her mother cheated as well, but with that much? So long ago? "Wait, mother, is this true?"
Blushing, Stella growled and huffed. "It's not my fault that Stolas doesn't know when to act like a real man and see the beauty in front of him. A woman has her needs, and a princess needs more children than just a single heir. If it wasn't for the fact that our marriage agreement forces us to sleep once every year, I wouldn't have even had Octavia!"
"Yeah, because forcing a gay man to go against his sexual preference is such a noble thing to do," Blitzo replied, rolling his eyes. "Besides, your problems as a couple were happening a long time ago. I'm not saying Stolas doesn't have blame, but it's hard to blame him for cheating on you when you abused him!"
"Abused him?! Isolant swine! I never laid a finger on him!" Stella screamed.
"Maybe not physically, but you did so both emotionally and verbally!" Blitzo shouted, with his own eyes glowing red. "You constantly put him down! Challenged his manhood and made him think he was nothing but a pathetic loser and coward for not acting more like your standard version of a noble! No matter how much he pleased you, cowered to you, or even attempted to peacefully resolve things, you belittled him and his pride until he was nothing but a worm for you to squish!"
"Please as if-"
"He cries in his sleep…." Blitzo whispered, yet it was loud enough for Octavia to gasp. "He has terrible dreams, and they are all about you. They make him sob into his pillow every day and night because he thinks he's a failure of a father, a husband, and a man because of how you treat him. You never once gave him any love or consideration. You treat him as if he is just another tool for you to use, and you get angry when he doesn't work the way you want him to. Do you know his favorite things? What movies and shows does he likes? What is his favorite food or color? You know nothing about him, but you do everything you can to make him feel like nothing! The only reason he has never tried to leave you for good is that he feels he owes it to Octavia to keep this family together, but this is no family! I know family! While mine may have had problems, I know that no decent wife should ever act in such a way to her husband by treating them as if they are scum with no sense of respect or decency! To do this for hundreds of years, non-stop, even after having a child together?! You are nothing more than a total and unforgiving bitch!"
Dad... Octavia thought with horror as she slowly realized just how bad things really were for her father. She wanted to deny what Blitzo was saying but the passion in his voice, the rage in his eyes, and the stance he held. She knew her father had it wrong with her mother but was he really that afraid of her to the point where he was nothing more than a verbal punching bag for her? Did he really cry in his sleep to the point of feeling like a failure as a man?
In all the time, she had been angry at Stolas for letting things in their family deteriorate like this. Making her feel the pain of her family breaking up. Not once had Octavia ever considered just how much pain he was in both before and after the affair. She looked at the woman she once thought of as her mother and realized just how much blame she had for all of this. All Octavia could see were the fights, arguments, and yelling, yet Octavia saw her father now in pain from them. Tears began to leak into her eyes as she realized that she never knew how much he suffered in all these years. Why? Dad? Why?
And she knew why.
For her.
To keep their family together.
But was this really family or a nightmare?
"Like it's my fault that he's that spineless coward with no backbone," Stella said, making Octavia's eyes widen. "Honestly, that pathetic excuse of a man is-"
"Shut up."
Both Stella and Blitzo paused and slowly turned to Octavia, glaring at her mother with deep, raging breaths. Stunned, the former whispered, "What did you say?"
"I said shut up!" Octavia shouted, walking over to her mother and glaring at her. "Don't you dare say another word about him! Dad is... Dad's ten times a better parent than you'll ever be!"
"Octavia!" Her mother shouted, but Octavia wasn't done yet.
"At least Dad outright has done things with me and tried to fix this family!" Octavia shouted, gritting her teeth. "Maybe he screwed things up, but at least he tries to fix his mistakes! All you ever do is yell and abuse people! Not just him, but the servants as well! Everyone is afraid of you, and I realize that I have never seen you try to treat him or anyone else with kindness like he does! Dad might have embarrassed us with his affair with Blitz, but at least he genuinely likes him! You just slept with a bunch of other guys long before the affair, and you have the nerve to claim the high ground?! All Dad ever wanted was love and compassion, and you've treated him like shit! No wonder he cheated on you!"
SMACK!
It took a second for Octavia to realize she was on the ground and wondered why she was there. Then she felt something dripping from her mouth and slowly touched it. It was wet and sticky. Looking at it on her finger, her insides turned to ice, and her mouth went wide open.
Blood.
It was blood.
Slowly, she looked upward and saw a raging pair of eyes glowing with utter hate, and she whimpered. There was a monster staring above her with utter disgust and fury that Octavia felt fear deep inside her soul. Because this monster that had hit her, sent her down to the floor, and was scaring the life out of her was Octavia's own mother.
"You stupid and horrible brat! I am your mother, and you dare speak to me in such a way?! Of all the nerves! I should have been much harsher to you when you were growing up, but I let your stupid father have more say in your education and behavior!" Stella screeched as she stomped forward and held her terrified and teary-eyed daughter by the arm. "Well, no more! I am going to make sure you learn your proper place in this world, Octavia! Starting by making sure you never see your pathetic father ever again by sending you far away so you can get a proper behavior adjustment!"
"N-No! Don't, please!" Octavia begged as she felt her tears drip down her face. Now she saw what her father had seen. This was no demon. No, even a demon would not act like this. Growling, Octavia shouted, "Fuck you! I hate you! I fucking hate you! You don't deserve to be part of this family! No, we were never a family because of you! You're the one who ruined everything, Stella!"
" YOU LITTLE BITCH!" Stella screamed as she raised her hand only for someone to grab it.
SNAP!
There was another scream from Stella, but this one was not of anger or rage, but pain. She fell to her knees and clutched her broken arm as Octavia crawled away in terror and hated the screaming banshee. In an instant, a field of terrible power spread across all the domains of the royal family that every single resident in the borders sweated upon feeling its tremendous power. The entire palace turned red and black from the dark aurora alone as the walls began to ooze with black liquid and unholy pentagram symbols began to appear.
***
"W-What the fuck is that?!" Loona shouted as every fur of her body was standing up in terror. She even started whimpering as the hellish skies of Imp City began to become a storm cloud of fire and lighting.
"This…this is my power!" Stolas shouted in realization as he looked up in horror. "We have to get back to the palace! Now!"
***
Octavia gasped for air from the sure intensity of the power flowing from the figure that stood in the center, standing over a terrified Stella. Blitzo, with utter rage on her father's face, glared down at Stella while the princess whimpered in terror and shivered uncontrollably.
"YOU...YOU…YOU!" Blitzo screamed as his voice echoed across the realm. "YOU ARE THE WORST! YOU DARE STRIKE YOUR OWN DAUGHTER?! YOU DARE TO CLAIM YOURSELF A MOTHER?! YOU HURT STOLAS! YOU HURT OCTAVIA! HOW MANY MORE MUST SUFFER BECAUSE OF YOU?! NOT EVEN LUCIFER HIMSELF WOULD DO WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!"
"I...I…" Stella struggled to say something but found her voice dry as a desert. A long yellow stream of liquid dripped between Stella's legs as she stared into the proper form of her husband and screamed in horror. Blitzo then wrapped his claw around her neck as black wings spread from his back, and his face began to morph like that of a being of pure shadow and fire.
"I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO HURT ANYONE AGAIN! NOT STOLAS! NOT OCTAVIA! ANYONE! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU AND SEND YOU TO OBLIVION!"
"BLITZ! STOP!" Octavia shouted as the power soon faded from its intensity, and he looked at her. She slowly got up and gulped, trying her hardest not to falter. "It's not... she's not worth it! She's... she's just an old pathetic bird...Just...Just let her go…."
Blitzo slowly looked at the terrified and pleading Stella before letting her drop to the floor. Gradually, the dark power began to recede until everything was back to normal. Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Blitzo closed his eyes and gripped his hands. "Fine...but only because she is your mother…."
He then opened them and glared at the pale white owl demoness. "Listen to me, Stella. You will pack up and leave. You will never return to this house. You will never see Stolas or Octavia again, and you will divorce your husband while giving him full custody of his child. Because if you do not, I swear to God himself, I will hunt you down and kill you. Stolas's power or not."
He then pointed to the door. "Now, get the fuck out."
Stella didn't even bother to say anything else. She just fled. It didn't take her long to grab just a few clothes, call her bank to transfer her accounts and rush out of the door while calling for a taxi. Never again would anyone in the Pride ring hear or see Stella again save for the signing of the divorce papers.
She didn't even ask for anything in return.
***
Octavia didn't know how long she cried. Hours? Maybe even the rest of the day. All she remembered was sobbing her eyes out as Blitzo hugged her and gently carried her to bed. She was sure she passed out at some point, only to wake up in the middle of the night as someone climbed into bed with her, wrapped their arms around, and sang her a sweet melody.
Her father.
Her real father.
She didn't know if she was back in his body or not, but it didn't matter. Her father was here, and she needed him. Octavia said nothing as she let the soft and cooing sounds of comfort wipe away her tears and warm her broken heart before slipping into her dreams once more.
***
Dawn came, and slowly Octavia opened her eyes to feel a warm, familiar comfort around her waist. She turned around and saw her father silently snoozing beside her while resting his head on one of her pillows. She smiled softly and got up before shaking him awake.
A small yawn escaped Stolas's lips as he slowly opened his eyes before realizing who was staring at him. "Octavia!" He hugged her as tight as he could while damping his eyes on her shoulder. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I should have been there! I should have stopped her! This is all my fault!"
"Dad, please stop?" Octavia whispered as she slowly broke up the hug. Memories of what happened made her wince and nearly burst into another sob session, but she steeled herself strong. Her mother had finally shown her true colors yesterday, and as far as Octavia was concerned, the woman could not be in the most bottomless pits of Hell. "Don't apologize. It wasn't...it wasn't your fault it was... hers…."
"Yes," Stolas growled as he looked into his hand and gripped it. "If I had been there...I wouldn't have let her walk away like Blitz did...I would have made her go through every horror imaginable before ending her pathetic existence for what she did to you, Starfire."
"Forget it, Dad," Octavia whispered as she sighed heavily. It hurt to know that her family was now fractured forever, but perhaps it was time to accept that it was all for the best. Her mother was a monster, and Octavia had no intention of forgiving her for what she had done. Not just for last night, but for what she did to her father as well. "We just...we need to move on...as a family."
"Of course," Stolas whispered as he hugged her. "How about the two of us just go away somewhere for a while? The summer or winter home? Your choice. Just the two of us."
"I'd like that…." Octavia whispered before a thought came to her. "Except... let's not go alone?" He looked at her with confusion before she smiled. "How about we bring Blitz and his crew with us?"
"R-Really?" Stolas asked with a bit of hope in his tone. "Y-You don't mind?"
Octavia shook her head. "Look, I know I wasn't open to him at first, but after yesterday...I think I'm ready to give him a real chance. Especially since you like him so much."
"Oh, Octavia," Stolas whispered with joy. "Thank you. I promise that I'll always put you first, of course. But you have no idea how much this means to me."
"I know," Octavia said as she slowly got up from her bed. "Mind if I take a shower? I feel like I need one."
Stolas nodded and soon left the room. She was about to change when she saw her phone nearby and decided to check it for any message she might have missed. There was one from a new contact, and she opened it only to blink in surprise before smiling.
"Got your number from one of the imps. Had Loona text this since I can't type for shit. I'm sorry about what happened with your mother, but I don't regret what I did. Sorry, I also didn't stick around, but I felt it was more critical for Stolas to be there for you instead of me. If you want to talk for any reason, this is my number.
-Blitzo.
P.S. Yesterday was fun.
Octavia smiled and accepted him as her new contact. She thought about contacting him now and letting Blitzo know she was alright but decided to do so after the shower. She put her phone on her dresser and walked into her bathroom, undressing and letting the water hit her whole body.
Everything that happened yesterday swam inside her head as emotions ranged inside of her. Hugging herself, she wondered what would happen going forward, but Octavia didn't feel any fear. She was going to move on from this. She and her father were going to move on from this.
She made a promise to talk to him and maybe go somewhere to have some quality time together to make up for not having any yesterday. Plus, she really could go for a Big Wac.
