Chapter Text
It had been a simple mission; Boba had only needed to reinforce his alliance with one of the Tusken tribes, Din and Fennec had gone with him as protection detail and the three were all ready to return to Mos Espa.
Cresting the dune on their approach to the palace, Boba, who was in the lead, signaled for them to stop. Dismounting their speeders, Fennec and Din joined Boba at the top of the sand dune. Below them was the palace, a usual sight for the trio, except right now there was a ship landed in the middle of the entrance space, ramp down.
“Do you know who’s ship that is?” Fennec asked
“I do.” Boba grunted
“Why is it here?”
“I do not know.” Boba said shortly, seemingly irritated, whoever it was, the man clearly wasn’t fond of them being here.
“Look,” Din pointed to where a figure was rounding the other side of the ship.
Boba sighed and stood from where he had been kneeling muttering something about “stupid knees” and, presumably unrelated, “no privacy, stupid kriffers”
“Are they a threat?” Din asked, standing as well,
Boba huffed, “not to us, no.”
The figure by the ship was armored, clearly humanoid and potentially a mandalorian. Their armor was painted grey and red, a black 99 clear on their chest by their heart. They had blasters holstered at their hips and the hilt of a blade poked out from their boot.
Boba, Din, and Fennec started down the hill, but at the sight of Fennec the person had their blasters out and aimed in a flash.
Fennec took a step back in surprise but quickly recovered and arming her own blaster. taking this as a sign, Din readied for a fight. They were farther down the hill than Boba was since he had thought he could unload their speeders without issue since he had already made it clear whoever it was wasn’t a problem.
“You!” The person shouted at Fennec in an accented voice, not dissimilar to Boba’s.
“And I…?” Fennec called back, clearly not recognizing them.
“Kidnapped me!” They filled in, “you tried to take me back to the kaminii .”
What?
“You’re that kid!” Fennec exclaimed.
“Yeah.” The person growled.
So, apparently this person was someone Fennec had kidnapped as a kid but had failed to get them to whoever wanted this person, Din had a lot of questions.
Fennec and the person (former kidnappee?) were eyeing each other warily, but then, in a flash, the stranger fired.
Reacting quickly, Fennec dove to the side before returning fire. Din ran forward, intending to get the stranger in a tackle when Boba’s voice shouted at them.
“Enough!”
The stranger stopped, as did Din and Fennec.
“These are my companions.” he said to the person, who holstered their guns and relaxed their posture, clearly they trusted him.
“Friends? Didn’t know you could make those,” they joked, reaching up to remove their helmet.
The first thing Din noticed was that they were a human female. The next was her blonde hair, pulled back from her face by a red bandanna, but otherwise fell just past her shoulders.
But the most striking thing was her eyes, those were Boba’s eyes.
Walking down the dune, Boba reached level ground in front of the woman. She looked to be not too much younger than him and their resemblance was even stronger with the two of them that close. Fennec and Din joined them, Fennec taking her position next to Boba though she was still wary of the woman.
“Introductions?” Din questioned
The woman turned to Din with a grin, “Omega Fett, nice to meet you!” She said cheerfully, “Honorable sister of this di’kut .” She glared at Boba, her tone flipping to anger, “Why the kriffing hells did you let us all think you were dead for so long! Do you know how long it took us, us , to find you?”
Pointedly ignoring her, Boba gestured to Fennec, “this is Fennec Shand, which you know, but she is my friend and associate, and this,” Boba said turning to Din, “is Din Djarin, the Mand’alor.”
“You’re the Mand’alor?” Omega started, “cool.”
“Vod’ika, why are you here?” Boba grunted
“What if I just want to see you?”
“You never just want to see me.”
“Yeah, yeah. Okay,” Omega admitted, “So first we though you were dead, right? But then we find out you’re alive, and like, everyone is pretty annoyed but we figured you’d come back when you felt like it so we shouldn’t push it, but then you become the freaking Daimyo , and since we’re your vode and the base has always been pretty small, we figured we could meet you here and join you or something.”
Omega smiled like she’s certain that was an amazing explanation and raises her hands in a so? gesture.
“I mean, you can totally use the help, we’re basically a little army that are also your vode!”
Fennec leaned closer to Boba and told him, “You know we’ve been looking for fighting help.”
Boba apparently had enough siblings to make a little army. Din really needed to keep up.
Boba was pondering it and about to say something when he paused, “Wait, you said ‘we’, are all of you here?”
“Possibly.”
“I can’t stop you all can I?”
“Nope!” Omega said, popping the p.
“How did you all find me though?”
Omega fixed her brother with a look, “Vod, if we weren’t you siblings we’d be your stalkers,” She said deadpan.
Boba barked a laugh and Fennec chuckled, Din thought he liked her.
“I suppose you all could be helpful” Boba shrugged, “where are you all?”
“They’re over somewhere” Omega helpfully gestured to somewhere over the sands, “didn’t think it was a good idea to all park here”
“How many siblings do you have?” Din finally asked.
“There used to be millions” Omega says, “but now it’s about 18 excluding us two”
“Millions?” Who can have that many siblings?
“I’m a clone, didn’t you know?” Boba asks.
The clones, the soldiers of the republic. If they were all clones…then why was Omega—
“A girl?” Omega buts in, “experimentation by the Kaminoans. Everyone asks once they find out.”
Oh.
“All the others are brothers though,” Omega added.
“If I let you stay, do I have to pay you?”
“Nah, we didn’t think we’d make it harder on you, but this does mean we stay?”
“I suppose.” Boba conceded
“Great! Get ready to meet some of the best brothers Boba never wanted!” Omega spun around, heading in the direction she had pointed to before.
Boba, Fennec, and Din followed.
Din did not know what would happen, but he figured that it would be good, they really do need the help.
