“Buongiorno bambina” Carina hummed walking into their bath room to greet Maya
“Good morning to you too…” Maya hummed “…oh hi”Maya added as Carina snuck up on her in the shower snaking her arms around her and pulling her as close as she could with the impeding baby bump stopping her
“Hi” Carina hummed biting lightly at the blondes earlobe
“Can I help you?” Maya giggled as her wife worked her way down her neck nipping and biting at the skin
“You know you can” Carina replied lowly spinning her wife around and pinning her against the wall
“Oh it’s one of those mornings” Maya hummed dragging her nails up and down her wife’s back
“I feel like it might be one of those days” Carina smiled softly as Maya spun them around again and pinned her arms above her head
“Then I hate that I’m going to have to love you and leave you” the blonde sighed as she started to sink to her knees
“You have the day off no?” Carina asked in a state bordering ecstasy as Maya kissed her way down her torso
“No, that’s tomorrow” Maya replied looking up
“You said Thursday…” Carina growled pulling Maya’s face to stand her back up “…you lied to me” she added angrily as she punch the blondes bicep
“Okay first of all, ouch…” the blonde whined rubbing at her arm that she was certain would bruise “…and second I did say Thursday but it is currently 6am on Wednesday morning” Maya smiled
“Oh madonna” Carina cried throwing her head back her brain instantly switching from horny to sadness
“Sorry babe” Maya smiled softly wrapping her arms around Carina’s neck as the Italian threw her head forward into her wife’s shoulder sobbing
“I’m going crazy” she cried looking back up at Maya
“No, not at all…” the blonde replied squirting body wash into her hands and massaging it into Carinas shoulders and down her body “…you’re just pregnant” she added pushing Carina back under the spray of water to wash off the suds “…now is there a reason you’ve interrupted my shower” she asked holding Carina from behind and allowing her hands to wander down her wife’s front intentionally brushing over her nipples

“And what is it?” Maya hummed lowly pulling her hand away
“I need you” Carina responded catching Maya’s wrist

“Don’t play about Captain Bishop, I need an orgasm” the Italian replied and Maya quickly supplied
Maya left the Italian to cool off in shower when the water began to run a bit too cold for her but at a tepid temperature for Carina who was doing everything she could to regulate her body
“Buongiorno” Eleora screamed as she come running into her parents room using the bed to help her jump onto Maya’s back
“Good morning princess” Maya laughed as Eleora wrapped her arms around her neck and legs around her waist placing a series of kisses to her cheek
“Where’s mama?” She asked as Maya sat down on the edge of the bed to allow her to let go safely and flop onto her back
“In the shower, where’s Andrea?” Maya asked attacking her daughter with a series of tickles
“There” Eleora managed to get out through her laughter
“I’m here” Andrea beamed running in and jumping on Mayas back similarly to Eleora but this time to free his sister from Maya’s tickle attack
“Oh hello” Maya laughed as she lay on her front as both twins climbed on top of her
“You’re dressed” Andrea replied making an observation but also under the same impression of his Mama thinking Maya had the day off
“I am, shall we get you dressed too” Maya asked as she tipped both kids off her so she could stand up
“Do you have to go put out fires today?” Eleora asked pouting
“Yes I do” Maya smiled softly lifting both babies onto a hip to carry them into their room
“Are we going to daycare?” Andrea asked
“Nope” Maya shook her head
“Nanna’s?” Eleora wondered knowing that’s usually where they’d spend the day if they didn’t go to daycare
“Nope”
“The station” Andrea smiled hopefully
“No unfortunately not” Maya sighed softly
“What are we doing then?” Andrea asked raising his hands as he shrugged
“I thought I’d just put you in a box and leave you there” Maya replied quickly as she dropped the kids into the toy box they’d already made good work at emptying in the short time they’d been awake
“Mommy!” The giggles and squirmed as Maya pretended to close the lid
“Maya take the babies out of the box” Carina demanded shaking her head her heart melting at the scene, she’d never tire of seeing her wife playing with their children
“Sorry” Maya replied timidly lifting the lid back up and helping both twins out
“Buongiorno mama” Eleora smiled running to wrap herself around her Mama’s legs
“Buongiorno piccolina” Carina smiled lowering herself down to sitting on her knees
“Mama are you working today too?” Andrea asked as he joined in on the hug
“Nope we’ve got all day to stay at home and play” Carina smiled
“Yay!” Eleora beamed before laying on her stomach on the floor so she could talk to the baby “…Hi baby potato, we get to talk all day today” she whispered softly holding her hand to Carina’s stomach waiting for a kick and smiling widely at Carina when she got one
“Mommy I’m hungry” Andrea sighed looking back at Maya who had set both of the twins clothes out on their beds to save Carina an argument
“Let’s go get some breakfast before I have to leave” Maya smiled reaching her hand out to Andrea to walk him down the stairs
“Portami” Andrea replied holding his arms up and the blonde quickly obliged pulling him up onto her hip “…I want my station jumper” Andrea whispered seeing the clothes Maya had set out
“We’ll find it after breakfast” Maya smiled carrying the boy downstairs who seemed happy enough with the answer
Maya took the twins downstairs giving Carina some space to get ready for the day without having to worry about them for another hour or so. Having fed them and eventually being joined by her wife Maya left her to tidy up the kitchen whilst she dressed the twins deciding that tidying the kitchen would be less stress for the Italian
Eleora was the first to reappear downstairs following her moms instruction and cuddling up on the couch for some quiet time when she was closely followed down the stairs by Maya and Andrea
“Where are you going?” Carina asked catching Maya’s wrist as she sat Andrea on the couch to watch cartoons with his sister
“To work” Maya smiled softly shrugging on her coat and picking up her backpack
“Oh” she sighed realising this is the time in the morning where Maya had no choice but to leave her
“I will come home Carina” the blonde smiled bringing one hand to her wife’s face and the other to snake around her back feeling the Italian lean into the touch
“You can’t promise that, you know you can’t promise that” the Italian sighed softly her bottom lip quivering and eyes threatening tears, she didn’t usually get this emotional at Maya attending a 24 hour shift but the hormones were throwing all her emotions out of whack
“It’ll be okay, I’ll call you later…” Maya smiled “…I love you”
“I love you too” Carina smiled back placing a soft kiss to Maya’s lips
“Bye bye my babies” Maya whispered as she leaned over the sofa popping her heads between the twins startling them both into giggles
“Bye mommy…” the twins replied in unison “…I love you” Eleora added kissing Maya’s cheek
“I love you too” Maya smiled
“I love you more” Andrea added kissing Maya’s other cheek
“Goodbye, be good…” Maya added before looking behind her seeing Carina busy herself with cleaning the kitchen “…if you make a mess make sure you tidy it up and make sure Mama has a nap at nap time okay, baby potato is making her really tired, and if she shouts it’s just because she needs sleep not because she’s angry with you is that okay?” she whispered looking at both the twins
“Yes Captain” they whispered back with wide smiles feeling as though Maya had set them a special task to make sure Carina is okay until she gets home
“I’ll see you later” Maya kissed them both before saying a final good bye to Carina and disappearing out the door as the twins stood in the window and waved her off
“Mama can we play in our room please” Andrea asked knowing that all their toys we’re already up there and Maya had just told them not to make a mess
“Si bambini” Carina smiled unclipping the baby baby to allow them up the stairs and moving the one from the top of the stairs to their bedroom door so she knew they were safe whilst she finished in the kitchen

The morning moved into early afternoon and the house was a mess, well upstairs was there were toys and books and pillows strewn all over the landing anything from stuffed animals to fire trucks to bouncy balls
“Andrea!” Carina yelled as she stumbled over yet another fire truck toy strewn across the landing
“Ciao mama” Andrea smiled popping his head around the door frame
“Muovi I tuoi giocattoli” Carina demanded as one hand rubbed at her head and the other across her stomach
“Per favore?” Andrea asked frowning at his Mama’s lack of manners when he remembered what his mom had told him before he left and that Carina wasn’t angry she was just tired
“Si per favore, ora” Carina breathed our trying to regain her composure not wanting to shout at her son
“Okay Mama” Andrea smiled
“Dov’è Eleora?” She asked not seeing her daughter
“Addormentata” Andrea replied with his arms full of stuffed animals
“Dio mio, where?” Carina asked shaking her head
“Gùi” Andrea pointed to the stairs
Carina left the boy to tidy up trusting that he would do just that and headed down stairs in search of her daughter who had recently learnt the art of curling up in a ball and falling asleep anywhere
“Eleora! Eleora svegliati” Carina shouted seeing her daughter curled up in the playpen her anger instantly disappearing when Eleora looked up at her with the same expression of betrayal Maya had when someone woke her up
“Mama troppo forte” Eleora replied hiding her face and moving her hand to tell Carina to lower her voice
“Up you get you need to help Andrea tidy” Carina smiled softly reaching her hand out to Eleora
“No mama, sono stanca” she replied cuddling back into the floor pillows
“Eleora up” Carina demanded lifting the girl to her feet
“Mama” Eleora pouted swiping at her eyes
“Dai! The quicker you go help Andrea, the quicker you can go back to sleep… you both made the mess so you can both clean it” Carina smiled softly lifting the girl out do the playpen
“Like a team, like at mommy’s station?“ Eleora asked sweetly
“Si, just like that” Carina smiled softly
The blonde ran off up the stairs in search of her brother pushing the few remaining toys from the landing into her room
“Mama‘s scary when she wakes me up” Eleora panted as she got to the top of the stairs and into her room to help her brother tidy up the mess they’d made
“Si, but we made a mess and mommy said not to so clean it up” Andrea replied pulling out a box from the corner of the room and haphazardly throwing the toys into it
“Va bene” Eleora sighed getting another box and putting all their stuffed firehouse dogs in there
“Qui” Andrea spoke up pointing to where Eleora needed to push the box to tidy it away
“Done” she beamed as she put all her weight behind the box and fell onto her stomach with a giggle “…Libri” she pointed to the books by Andrea’s feet so she could put them back on the book case
“Done” Andrea smiled placing them on the shelf not quite standing them up but they were off the floor and he hoped that would satisfy tidying up “…Piggy?” He asked picking up the large stuffed pig from under the bed
“Letto” Eleora instructed pointing to her bed “…Simba?” she added picking up the oversized lion that had somehow made it into their closet
“Là” Andrea smiled pointing to his own bed and Eleora mustered up all the strength she had to throw the toy across the room and have it land on the end of the bed with a cheer
“Finita” she beamed with both her arms in the air having tidied up their entire room
“Perfetto” Andrea smiled “…Ora, say sorry to mama” he added holding Eleora’s shoulders
“Perché?” She pouted furrowing her brow
“For sleeping” he replied pointing Eleora to the door
“Va bene” Eleora sighed skulking off to the stairs and shouting to Carina to open the baby gates to let her down
Carina heard the calls for her quickly opening the gates and offering to help her daughter down the stairs but in stead the blonde sat down and bounced down the with a series of giggles and laughter
She followed Carina over to the sofa when the Italian exhaled loudly as she sat down finally finding a moment to get off her feet as heavy uncontrollable tears started to fall
“Im sorry mama for falling asleep I didn’t mean to” Eleora spoke softly climbing onto the sofa to lay down in Carina’s lap and stroke her fingers over the baby bump
“That’s not why I’m crying bambina” Carina smiled tearfully
“What’s wrong mama?” Eleora asked when she felt one of Carina’s tears fall onto her face
“Nothing I’m fine, I promise” Carina smiled feeling Eleora place soft kisses to her stomach
“You’re crying, you’re sad” she replied sitting up on her knees next to Carina so she could reach and brush the tears away
“It makes me sad when you sad” she replied kissing the tip of her mama’s nose
“I just miss mommy” Carina replied, part of her did miss Maya and the other part of her had no explanation for the tears whatsoever
“me too” Eleora pouted softly
“Dammi un abbraccio” Carina smiled softly and Eleora instantly wrapped are arms around her mamas neck and cuddled her tightly
“Ti voglio bene Mama, don’t cry…” she whispered playing with Carina’s long french brain “…Dandrea mama need cuddles” she called over her mama’s shoulder to her brother who had finally joined them downstairs
“Mama, Mama, Mama” Andrea repeated over and over running around the front of the sofa and jumping up to Carina’s otherside “…Mama sleep” he added rubbing at the dark circles under Carina’s eyes
“I don’t need to sleep bambino” Carina chuckled lightly her heart warming at the boys compassion and empathy
“Si, mommy said you need sleep because baby potato makes you tired…” Eleora added letting go of Carina and moving so she could lay down “…lie down, dorme” she demanded pulling at Carina’s arm to lay down
“No, non qua” Andrea interrupted remembering something else Maya had told them
“Cosa?“ Eleora asked tipping her head the side with a confused scrunch on her face
“Il letto” Andrea replied pointing to the stairs
“Perché?“ Eleora asked and Carina tried to contain her giggles it was clear Maya’s actions had rubbed off on the twins as she rarely let Carina nap on the sofa particularly when she’s pregnant
“Because mommy said mama had to sleep in bed because it’s comfier” Andrea replied confirming Carina’s suspicions
“When have you had these conversations with mommy?” Carina chuckled
“At bedtime and when she picks us up from daycare and before she goes to work, she says we have to be really really good when she isn’t home and look after you and our baby potato” he replied sweetly smiling at Carina with soft brown eyes and Carina couldn’t stop the tears that streamed again this time she knew exactly why she was crying, this time she was filled with love and gratitude for her wife and 4 year old twins
“Mama, dai… letto” Eleora shouted from the bottom of the stairs as she tried to undo the baby lock on the gate
“Va bene… ma tu vieni con me” Carina smiled pushing her self up and extending her hands to the twins to put them down for an afternoon nap too
“Si, certo” they nodded in unison
The twins followed Carina up the stairs, Andrea all but dragging his mama into her room whilst Eleora sped off in search of something before eventually following her mama and brother
“Mama, in” Andrea demanded pulling back the bed covers
“Va bene” Carina chuckled climbing into the bed and having Andrea cuddle into her side
“Qui” Eleora yelled a little too loudly as she came running back into the bedroom having taken a detour via her bedroom
“What’s this?” Carina asked receiving the stuffed elephant
“Chichi” Eleora shrugged pulling Maya’s tablet off the table next to the bed and setting it up without her mama noticing
“Yes I know it’s chichi why are you giving her to me” Carina giggled feeling Andrea stroke his fingers through her hair like she’d do to him when trying to lull him to sleep
“To help you sleep so you can cuddle her” Eleora smiled shrugging her shoulders
“What about you?” Carina asked
“I’m not tired any more mama” she smiled softly and innocently, she may have protested her tiredness but Carina could see the heavy bags under her daughters eyes suggesting otherwise
“Va bene” Carina smiled not wanting to argue
“Sleep mama” Andrea whispered
“I can’t sleep until mommy comes home” Carina replied softly, she’d love to fall asleep and she was certain Andrea did too but she refused to close her eyes until Eleora had not wanting the girl to be awake on her own
“Si, you can” Andrea replied
“But who will look after you” Carina asked looking between her twins
“Me” Andrea smiled
“Andrea”
“Shush Mama” Eleora replied waving her hand behind her as she successfully dialled Maya’s phone on FaceTime and she picked up
“Hi princess” Maya smiled as her face lit up the iPad screen
“Ciao mommy” Eleora beamed widely waving
“Eleora who are you talking to?” Carina asked confused as to what had just happened
“Mommy, look” Eleora replied laying down next to Carina and shoving the screen in her mama’s face
“Is everything okay?” Maya asked quickly concern lacing her tone when she saw all three of them in bed
“Mama needs to nap because she’s sad and misses you but she won’t sleep because you’re not here so you have to stay on the phone and talk to us whilst mama sleeps” Eleora replied
“Eleora why don’t you sleep too” Maya suggested softly leaning back in her chair as she waved off whoever tried to interrupt her
“I’m not tired mommy” Eleora yawned unconvincingly “…but Mama is but she won’t sleep”
“Maya I can’t go to sleep” Carina added looking at her wife with sorry tired eyes
“You can Car, I’ll talk to them and keep them distracted” Maya smiled noticing how tired Carina looked
“Are you sure?” Carina asked feeling guilty for stopping her wife from working all the way from their bed
“Yep I’m certain… Andrea where are you bubs?” Maya asked unable to see her son as she laughed at the faces her daughter was making
“I’m here mommy helping mama sleep” Andrea replied resting his chin on Carina’s head and stroking her face
“Oh okay” Maya smiled softly at the scene and Carina angled the screen so she could see what their son was doing
“Mommy how many fires have you put out!” Eleora asked grabbing the tablet and resting it against Maya’s pillow so she could see them all
“Today?” Maya asked
“Si” Eleora nodded as she lay on her stomach and rest her chin in her hands
“Four” Maya smiled holding up four fingers
“Thats how many I am” Eleora beamed as she swung her legs in the air behind her quickly stopped by Carina for fear of being kicked in the face
“It is isn’t it” Maya chuckled catching the frustrated look on Carina’s face trying to keep her daughters legs still
“Sleepy mama” Andrea whisperers
“I am” Carina replied closing her eyes quickly
“You’re not if you’re talking” Andrea replied playfully
“Shush” Carina smiled with her eyes closed holding her finger to Andrea’s lips
Involuntarily the Italian closed her eyes and quickly succumbed to a nap, she wasn’t that deep in sleep she was sure she could still hear the conversation of her twins and wife but she wasn’t quite able to focus on what they were actually saying
After what felt like a good few hours her eyes flew open again as if something in her mind had reminded her that she was at home with two 4 year old
“So now you’re asleep” she chuckled as her eyes adjusted to the light in the room streaming through the window seeing the twins in their own peaceful slumber
“Carina” Maya looked up at her phone from the desk hearing a voice in the other end of the line
“You’re still there” Carina smiled softly looking over at Eleora who was still fast asleep
“Yeah, I’m still here” Maya smiled softly
“How long was i asleep” the Italian asked lifting Andrea to her otherside so he didn’t roll himself off the bed and she could get up easily and not have to climb over him
“Umm only 20 minutes” Maya replied looking at her watch
“Davvero? It felt like longer” Carina yawed blinking a few times
“Si, it wasn’t that long” Maya smiled back
“How long have they been asleep?” She asked, she was certain she could still hear Eleora’s voice when she feel asleep
“They passed out about 5 minutes after you” she smiled softly filing another load of paperwork into a lever arch “…I think I bored them with my carbon monoxide protocol
“Perfetto…” Carina smiled running her hand over both babies “…you look tired bambina” she added looking at her wife
“I am, it’s been back to back calls all morning there’s nothing I’d love more than to come home and sleep in my bed with my little besties” Maya sighed wishing she was at home cuddled up and looking forwards to spending her day off that way
“Hmm I wish you were here too” Carina smiled suggestively just as she heard the stations klaxons sound through the call
Maya paused for a moment listening to the announcement from dispatch and visibly exhaling as the blonde realised she had to attend the scene too
“I have to go…” she sighed “..,try and get some more sleep whilst those two are asleep”
“I’ll try, I love you” Carina replied
“I love you too… bye” Maya smiled as she hung up
“Ciao bambina” Carina sighed into the end of the call unsure if she wife even heard her goodbye
Carina did just that and fell back asleep as the twins slept. It wasn’t long until they both woke her up wanting to be fed and hitting that point in the day where they severely missed Maya. That was possibly the worst part of the 24 hour shifts, the uncertainty on when Maya would actually return home and the realisation that she wasn’t going to be there at bedtime
Carina attempted to calm down the sobs from both twins by reading a number of stories and agreeing to watch a film deciding to watch one of Maya’s favourites, beauty and the beast but at some point part way through the movie Carina got distracted by the photo that sat on the mantle piece. It was a picture of Maya and Eleora in Italy, Eleora was 2 and had a wide smile on her face as Maya threw her in the air, both blondes hair being visibly blown in the soft sea breeze as Carina lost herself in the memory
She got lost in remembering how Mayas back and arms flexed with each throw, she got lost in the sound of laughter, and she got lost in how the late afternoon sun set a glow the fire captains skin accentuating her muscles. She lost herself in what happened after that scene remembering how the rest of the evening played out, her Zia Stella had agreed to baby sit the twins give the two woman a chance to go on a proper date.
She remembered the form fitting red playsuit her wife wore, the halter neck showing off her upper back and biceps and the short cut off shaping her ass and quads. “Are you okay?” Maya chuckled as she managed to pull away to take a breath

“I’m at work” the blonde attempted to tease and tried to pull away
“I don’t care, kiss me” Carina replied pulling Maya back into her and placing another hungry kiss to her lips feeling the blonde walk her backwards towards the bed in her bunk
Three orgasms later and Maya decided it was time to get dressed and get back to duty, and even find her kids to give them a cuddle before she’d be interrupted by the klaxon again. “Don’t call my baby stupid…” Maya replied playfully furrowing her brows “…you’re not stupid my baby, don’t listen to mama she’s the best person in the world but sometimes she struggles with English…Maya whispered lowing her head to the ever growing bump and placing three soft kisses there “…oww that hurt” she whined when she felt Carina swat the back of her head in punishment for the language comment
“Sorry, I’m sorry” Carina cried again as her hands flew to her mouth to suppress sobs at the thought of hurting her wife
“Hey, hey, hey it didn’t hurt that much I’m fine… look fine” Maya replied quickly taking Carina’s hands in her own and holding them tight “…Come on, get dressed and let’s go have cuddles with our babies”
“I’d like that” Carina nodded “…very much” she added through tears as she sobbed again holding onto Maya like her life depended on it
“Come on, it’s okay” she comforted waiting for the tears to stem before helping her wife get dressed and heading off to find the twins
Andrea and Eleora had somehow talked Vic, Travis and Jack into a game of hide and seek and the twins were currently winning as the three firefighters searched frantically for the 4 year olds
“EllyBelly come on this isn’t funny now” Jack called the panic in his tone evident as he opened and closed every cupboard in the beanery
“Andrea come on bud where are you?” Travis shouted out as he pulled all the chairs away from the table with no such luck
“Maybe they went to Maya’s office” Vic reasoned from her hands and knees still unable to see the twins
“Maybe who’s gone to my office?” Maya asked furrowing her brow wondering why half of her team were pulling the beanery apart
“Oh hey Cap, hi Carina” Travis smiled as the pots and pans clanged
“Ciao” Carina smiled softly “…where are my twins?” She asked the smile quickly falling when she saw the panicked look on all three faces
“Playing hide and seek” Vic smiled
“You’ve lost them havent you” Maya asked glaring at her team but having an idea as to where the twins would be considering they did this to her mother last week when Katherine had them for a day
“They’re not lost they’re just hiding” Jack smiled earning a glare of Carina that quickly wiped the smile off his face
“Gibson where are my babies” she asked her accent was thick and all four firefighters could see the rage and anger building up side her
“They’re here somewhere” he replied timidly taking a step back almost hiding behind Vic

“And kinda hot” Travis added earning a glare off Maya and a look of confusion from Jack and Vic “…I’m gay not blind” he added quickly
“Andrea, Eleora Vieni qui ora!” Carina shouted as she paced through the beanery
“I don’t think they’re in here” Maya replied
“Oh really? DAVVERO you don’t think they’re in here” Carina yelled at her wife “whatever gave you that idea stupido idiota” she added opening and slamming shut every kitchen cupboard like Jack had done before
“I’ve already look-“ Jack tried to tell Carina but was quickly cut off by another glare “…okay, stopping”
“I’ll be right back” Maya whispered to her team knowing that she could return with her children and calm her wife down “…don’t let her hurt herself” she added
“Non sono un bambina” Carina shouted “…I don’t need a keeper” she added angrily pulling the chairs away from the table
The firefighters shared a knowing glance at each other as Maya slipped off into the rec room to retrieve her twins
“Okay my babies out you come” Maya spoke softly laying down on the floor and reaching her hand under the sofa’s to the twins
“Hi mommy” Andrea beamed crawling out first and climbing on Maya’s back who quickly tipped him off and sat up to cuddle him
“Are we in trouble?” Eleora asked shyly closely following her brother into Maya’s embrace
“No, you’re not in trouble” Maya smiled softly brushing the hair out her face
“Ma Mama suona arrabbiata” she whimpered as the three heard Carina reel off into Italian in what Maya could only assume was aimed at Jack after another snide comment
“She’s not angry at you I promise, she’s just feeling some really big emotions right now” Maya smiled softly
“Because of baby potato?” Andrea asked
“Yeah, because of baby potato” the blonde smiled softly cradling the two kids in her lap
“Will her big emotions stop when we get baby potato?” Eleora asked sweetly
“Not right away but eventually yes” Maya smiled softly as the girl cuddled into her
“Can I go give mama a hug?“ Andrea asked wanting to make his Mama feel better
“Anch’io?” Eleora added
“Yeah, I think she’d like that… hold on tight” Maya smiled and the twins locked their bodies around her and she pushed herself to her feet
Maya walked the twins into the beanery noticing Carina slumped on the arm chair in the corner with a glass of water whilst her team cowered in the opposite corner
“Go find something to do” Maya spoke to the three quickly dismissing them to be anywhere but here
“Yes Cap” they replied in unison and quickly disappeared in three different directions
“Mama” Andrea whispered reaching towards Carina as Maya let him go
“Tesoro, where have you been?” Carina asked hugging him tight as her tears sprung to her eyes yet again
“We hid under the sofa mama” Eleora added as Maya sat her on the other arm of the chair before pulling a chair over from the table for herself
“Perché bambini?”
“So we could win” Andrea replied softly with a small smile on his face
“But we’re here now for cuddles and with mommy” Eleora smiled
“Yes you are” Carina smiled looking up at her wife who press a quick kiss to her lips, before Maya had a chance to take her family down to her office the klaxons sounded calling them out to their 5th fire this shift
“I have to go” the blonde pouted placing another kiss to Carina’s lips before kissing her twins too “…I love you, and I love you and I love you” she smiled at each member of her family
“Ti amo” Carina smiled
“Bye-bye mommy, I love you” Eleora shouted as Maya ran off
“I love you too mommy” Andrea called out sadly as Maya disappeared down the catwalk and into the barn
“Quick Mama can we watch the engines leave?” Andrea asked with a wide smile on his face
“Si tesoro, andiamo” Carina smiled chasing the twins out onto the catwalk as they waved the two engines and the aid car away down the drive way “…shall we go home?“ she asked as each twin held on to each hand
“Si mama” they replied at the same time
Carina found all their belongings, made the bed in Maya’s bunk and wrote her wife a quick note leaving it on the pillow as Eleora left one of her stuffed dogs on the bed and made Carina write another note to make sure the fire Captain wasn’t lonely before taking the twins home and counting down the hours until she had her wife in her arms again
