Work Text:
It was a rough day for Stephen. Some creature just randomly appeared out of nowhere and started to terrorize a small part of the city. which caused the death of a small child. The child didn’t technically die; he was basically erased from existence. Literally. It took a toll on him because he could’ve saved him, but he was busy trying to fight the creature.
When he came back to the sanctum sanctorum, he went straight to his bedroom. Stephen didn’t even say hi to Wong or America as he passed by them. He quickly changed from his usual attire to his sleepwear. Then He laid on the bed and carefully got under the covers so that he didn’t wake up his wife. As he turned towards her, he noticed her face had a little smile. Wanda giggled as she had been discovered.
"I didn’t know you were awake, my love," he said, kissing her. Stephen always thought that he was the luckiest man in the whole multiverse. He has a beautiful wife and a soon-to-be child. which they don’t know the gender of. Stephen hopes it’s a girl. He would give her a name out of this world.
"Look what I got you," Wanda said cheerfully as she reached under the bed. She broke his train of thoughts as he averted his attention to her. She pulled out a cute brown teddy bear with a little bow tie. It was adorable. Stephen loved it. He placed it on the nightstand and turned to look at her again.
"I love how you look in my shirt," the man complimented.
"It’s so small on me though," she replied. Wanda always felt kind of insecure about her big belly ever since she started to show. But her husband always reassured her that she looked perfect.
"Well, you are carrying a baby..." he said, reaching towards her to hug her tightly. Stephen rested his head on her chest and listened to her heartbeat.
Wanda went in and out of sleepiness. She was so drowsy that she waited hours for Stephen to come back.
"You’re unbelievably cute when you’re tired." Stephen mumbled as he kissed her on her lips. He continued to kiss her, but this time more passionately. After a few minutes, Wanda gently pushed him away by the chest. She smiled at him. After a few minutes, Stephen fell asleep with his arms wrapped around her, holding her head to his chest.
Wanda did it. She made him forget what happened today. Hopefully, he wouldn’t blame himself anymore.
