Chapter Text
Eijirou Kirishima wanted only one thing since the beginning— to be a hero. With two strong alpha parents who had durable quirks, he was sure he’d be a hero in no time.
That was until his last year of middle school, when he suddenly presented as an omega. His parents did their best to try and cheer him up, telling him that there are other noble professions to pursue. Which only crushed him more, he felt as if they were telling him to give up on his dream.
Kirishima stopped being his cheery self and fell into a state of despair. He went on the rest of the school year like a robot, doing just well enough to pass. In his mind, he didn’t need to try as hard because there was nothing special about him.
One day as he was about to go home after the school bell rung, he seen someone from his class picking on someone who couldn’t have been older than a first year. After taking a few moments to decide, he finally cuts in and tells the boy to stop. At first the bully is a bit shocked before curling his lips into a cruel smirk. Eijirou assumed the boy knew about Kirishima’s second gender because he let all his pheromones out against him. Eijirou sank to the ground in reaction to the intrusion on his nose, the bully smelled of gasoline and he was beginning to feel nauseous. Just as he was about to pass out he was saved by a pink girl with dark eyes.
After this incident, Kirishima felt the gravity of how truly weak he was, completely letting go and giving up on himself.
After finishing his homework one evening, he was on the couch flipping through tv channels. That’s when he see’s something interesting, it was a news heading that read, “Crimson Riot, the Omega Hero”. Eijirou tuned into the channel, hearing the hero tell his listeners, “ It doesn’t matter what your gender is, or your quirk! As long as you have a chivalrous heart, you too can be a hero! “
Kirishima felt moved by Crimson Riot’s interview. He decided to go into his room and research the hero a little more, discovering his amazing feats. Crimson was really powerful and cool. Maybe he could do it too?
The rest of the year went on without a hitch. Eijirou studied harder, began working out consistently to get stronger and boost his quirk. He did notice that even though he was an omega, none of the traits were showing. No heat. None of his own pheromones leaking out. And definitely no softer features. Kirishima just thought of himself as lucky and called it a day.
During his last week of school, Eiji got his acceptance letter into UA. He had applied months ago and took the vigorous entrance exam but he didn’t think he had made the cut. Eijirou was excited beyond words, but he couldn’t say the same for his parents. There congratulations were pained and hesitant, as of they didn’t really want this for Kirishima. Whatever— he didn’t let this discourage him.
The summer dragged on painfully. Eijirou’s days were filled with almost the same boring routine, which always included some kind of workout. By the end of the summer, Kirishima was bulked up like a bull even with his quirk inactivated.
The night before his first day at UA High, Kiri couldn’t sleep a wink. He tossed and turned all night, his nerves too riled up to sleep calmly. After a few hours of restlessness, he got up and grabbed a blanket, a few pillows, and some old teddy bears. Somehow these items calmed him down, and made him feel secure.
The next morning, his mother burst into the room to wake him up for school. What Kirishima wasn’t expecting was his mom to start gushing over his first nest. Kirishima could feel his face heat up, politely kicking his mother out before starting to get ready for school.
In his brand-new uniform Eijirou stepped inside his homeroom class. He came early, so he was surprised to see that there were a couple students already inside the room. There were two kids arguing about a desk or some thing, and a green haired kid cowering in the corner.
Kirishima decided to take a seat right behind the two kids that were arguing, since the seat was out of the teachers direct line of sight. that’s when the blonde boy turned around and glared right at him. Kirishima tensed up and swallowed hard. There was something authoritative in that one, single look. Kirishima wasn’t one to back down though, so he set his jaw and gave the boy a hard stare in return.
Eijirou hated Bakugo Katski.
