“Captain?” A voice called out behind him, and something clicked. Within a second he had his forearm trapping a body against the wall and the pocketknife dangling off his keys pressed into his jugular, a drop of blood already forming.
“Eren."Levi remembers another life. One so cruel he begs the universe that it isn't real but the utter clarity with which he can recall it says otherwise. Hange doesn't remember, no matter how much he prompts them, leaving him lonely, desperate, and questioning his sanity.
Until he runs into Eren, who addresses him by his familiar old title. And somewhere in between the anger and the betrayal, there's a little something that feels an awful lot like relief, and Levi is weak to it. -
