“Oh, fuck yeah," Jensen moans, panting as Jared drives into him. Jared's taking his time, as they have done this enough this past few days that the urge to just take is subsiding. Jared loves every little noise he punches out of Jensen; it makes his arousal rise tenfold. Jensen's hands are in Jared's ass, holding there tight, and pushing him deeper. It's all so much and at the same time too little. When his knot starts to swell, he thrusts harder and faster, knowing he won't last any longer. He's soon pushing his knot inside his omega.
His omega.
Jared can't still believe this is really happening. Jensen is his forever; a dream he thought would never become true.
Jensen howls, wings expanding behind him, as Jared pumps him full of his release. They both pant as they come down from their orgasm, and Jared smiles down at Jensen who answers readily with another smile.
They've been in this cave for three days now, riding Jensen's heat until it has started to calm down. Every minute is better than the other, as they have been learning what works for them and what does not considering this mating is beyond unconventional.
Later, when Jared's knot has deflated and they can sit next to each other, they will spend more time thinking about how to best tell their families about all this.
Because sooner or later, they will have to confront the reality that their mating might not be accepted at all.

The trip back to the Kojahe tribe is made in silence. They don't know what will happen once Jared shows up with a Kaji as a mate.
As Jared approaches the tribe, his hand holding Jensen tightly, some of the Kojahes that spot them start to stare, and whisper in their ears. Jared straightens his shoulders, as he feels Jensen hold his hand tighter. He has to show Jensen it will be alright, no matter what happens next.
"Jared," his father says as they come to a stop in front of Jared's house and the Alpha's place. "Care to explain why there's a Kaji in our territory?" he asks, passively.
Jared takes a deep breath, here it goes. "Dad, this is Jensen. He's my mate."
There are gasps of astonishment around them, and Jared's dad stares at him surprised.
"Son, do you realize what you just said?"
"I do. But it's the truth. Jensen is my mate," Jared repeats, giving Jensen a soft squeeze of his hand. "I'm completely in love with him," he adds turning to look at Jensen, who looks back gratefully.
"Well, I can't say this was unexpected," Jared's mother says.
Both Jared and his dad stare at her.
"I knew about your little escapes, dear son."
"Escapes?" Jared's dad asks alarmed.
"You knew?!" Jared exclaims.
"A mother always knows," she says to Jared. "I will explain later," she tells Jared's dad who sighs shaking his head.
Jared's dad considers them in silence, making Jared squirm. "Alright, if he's truly your mate, I have no objection as long it doesn't bring trouble to our people," he accepts.
"It won't," Jensen affirms, relaxing a little.
Jared's dad nods, and then stands up and walks toward them. "Welcome to the tribe, Jensen. I'm Verl, and this is my mate Eia," he presents pointing at Jared's mother.
"Nice to finally meet you," Jensen says, grinning softly.
"Okay, the show is over, everybody back to what you were doing," Verl commands.
As the people of the tribe go back to their daily routines as if nothing happened, Eia drags Jared and Jensen inside the house and offers them food.
Jared sits next to Jensen, happy that his parents took the mating so well.
Now the thing is to see how well Jensen's dad will take it.

Jensen flies back the next day to the Kaji tribe in the sky. The town is looking back to normal now after the storm, and as he flies back he can see people wave at him. He reaches the castle, and it's met with his sister waiting for him.
"Where have you been?" She asks in a shooshed voice. "Dad has been worried sick about you. He's actually out with Rem trying to find you."
Jensen winces at that. His dad is going to be so mad at him. "I'm fine Nya."
"You didn't answer my question," Nya adds petulantly.
"Let's go to your room and I will tell you everything," he promises. "How's grandma?" he asks on their way there.
"Not so worried, as if she knew something we didn't. It drove Dad crazy, and he even threatened with disowning her if she didn't say what she knew."
Jensen visibly blanches. She's the only one that knows about his visits to Jared. She was the one who showed him the secret passage between the Kojahes and Kajis territory that doesn't require flying because if he flew down he would have been seen and his father would have known about him and Jared a long time ago. "Did she?"
"Nope. You know how she is, she didn't care for it. "
Jensen heaves a sight. "Good."
"Okay, what are you not telling me?" Nya asks.
Jensen glances up at her and then tells her everything. From when he met Jared to their mating status now, and how grandma has helped him all this time.
"Holy shit, Jensen, " Nya whispers.
Jensen winces. "I know."
"Dad is going to lose his mind, you know that don't you?"
"I'm hoping he will be a bit understanding. It's not like I chose this, Nya."
"Yeah, but a Kojahe of all people?"
Jensen shrugs. "Maybe it's time for our people to stop holding grudges."
Nya considers him proudly. "Maybe," she starts. "Is he hot?"
Jensen chuckles, because of course his sister would ask that. "Yeah, he is."
"Oh, I can't wait to meet him."
"Hopefully that will happen soon."
There's a knock on the door that interrupts what Nya is going to say next. "Yes?"
"Princess Nya, our highness is back from his travels," the maid announces.
Both Jensen and Nya look at each other.
"Time to face the music," Jensen sighs and gets up.
"If you get disowned I will come to visit you," Nya quips.
Jensen laughs. "You joke and yet."
"It will be okay," Nya reassures him.
Jensen nods and leaves to find his father. He has a sinking feeling in his stomach that things won't go well.

Jensen finds his father, and Rem the Kaji's army general, by the conference room.
"Jensen!" his father exclaims once he sees him approach him. "Where the hell have you been?"
"Uh, I'll explain later," Jensen assures, side-eyeing Rem who he does not like very much. "Sorry for worrying you."
Jensen's father, Aled, sighs. "Just don't do it again."
Rem snorts. "Of course, you would pull something like this," he interrupts.
Jensen glares at him. "I don't think anybody asked for your opinion."
Rem glares back. "Maybe someone should. Maybe you will be less of a brat."
"Rem," Aled warms.
"I'm sorry your highness, but we were looking for him for days, using resources that we could have saved for our people," Rem explains upset.
He's right, and it makes Jensen feel terrible. "Dad, I promise you there is a reason."
"There's always a reason with you. I should just teach you a lesson," Rem growls, using his alpha voice on him, getting a little too close for comfort.
Jensen doesn't back down. "You conveniently always forget that I'm my father's son," Jensen bites back. "Just because I'm omega, doesn't mean I can't kick your ass."
"Alright you two, stop it," Aled commands.
They both step back, but the tension doesn't go away.
"Rem, I would like to speak with my son now," Aled orders. "Please excuse yourself."
Rem mouths twist in disagreement, but he obeys and leaves.
"I really don't like him," Jensen mutters.
"Yeah, you've told me that already. Come on, let us have that chat," Aled waves at him to follow.
They walk down the hall until they're facing the ceiling-to-floor window that gives a view of the town. Jensen can see the rest of the Kajis going about their days, with no single worry in their minds. It's all because of Jensen's great-grandfather, who brought the Kajis to the sky after the war to protect them all.
"You might not like Rem, but he's right about you leaving like that. I thought you'd been captured by the Kojahes or something."
"That's not what happened," Jensen quickly assures.
"Good. We would do better without those savages."
"They're not savages."
"How would you know? The last time we ever encountered them was at war, and let me tell you they had no problem ripping through our pack."
"They're not like that anymore, and I know because I've been spending time with one of them."
"Excuse me?" Aled asks incredulously.
"And now I'm mated to one," Jensen adds bravely.
"No."
"Dad, just listen," Jensen begs.
"No, I don't believe it. No son of mine will ever do such a vile thing."
"I didn't plan it. We have no control over who we mate."
"A Kojahe?!" Aled explodes. "After all they did to our people? How could you?"
"All of that is in the past! Why should any of them pay for the sins of their ancestors?"
"It doesn't matter. You're not going back there," Aled warms.
"I am. He's my mate. Dad, I love him."
"If you go, we are done," Aled growls.
Jensen visibly deflates but doesn't back down. "What are you saying?"
"You fly back there? You insist on associating with that filth? You can't ever come back."
"Dad, please."
"Choose, Jensen."
Jensen regards him sadly. He wishes things could be different, but he suspected his father wasn't going to take the news kindly. What he never expected was this. How is he supposed to choose between his family and his mate? In the end, he has no choice. "I love you, dad," Jensen whispers, before turning around and leaving.
He doesn't think about how he's losing everything he knows because of who he loves.
He doesn't think about how his father doesn't stop him.
All he thinks about while flying back down is getting back to Jared as soon as possible.
~*~
"Hey, I brought you some dinner," Jared enters their room with a tray in his hands.
"Not really hungry," Jensen mutters from the bed, where he has cocooned himself since he came back from visiting his father.
Jared sighs and puts the tray away. He walks towards where his mate is and sits on the bed. "Jen, I'm so sorry."
"It's not your fault my dad is such a pig-head." Jensen grouches.
"Yeah, yet it feels like this in part my fault."
Jensen moves out of his cocoon to sit up. "This is in no way your fault. Hell, it's not even mine. We mate with who we're destined to be with. If they can't understand it that's their problem."
Jared nods. "If you truly believe that, then why are you like this?"
Jensen shrugs dismissively.
"Talk to me," Jared begs.
Jensen's eyes water and he wipes his tears away angrily. Jared comes closer and hugs him, which only makes Jensen lose his composure and start to cry harder. Jared holds him tight, as his mate lets his heart bleed out. Jensen soon calms down, and pulls away, wiping his face again. "I just—I'm going to miss them, and I wish things were different, you know?"
Jared nods, understanding. He got lucky with his parents accepting the mating, but he hasn't stopped thinking that he could be in Jensen's situation too if that hadn't happened. What they would have done then?
Then he realizes it doesn't matter. While it would hurt too, he would choose Jensen too.
"Don't lose hope that one day it will be," Jared says. "Your father might be angry now, but who knows what will happen tomorrow."
Jensen sighs and nods. "You're right."
"In the meantime, you got me and the rest of the Kojahes tribe. It's not the same I know, but I hope it will take the pain away for the time being?"
Jensen smiles softly. "I'm sure it will."
Jared grins back. "I love you, and that's never going to change."
Jensen smiles wider. "Ditto."
Jared hugs him again and kisses the top of Jensen's head.
Their future might be very uncertain, but there's nothing Jared wouldn't do for Jensen.
They can do this.
No matter how hard it is.
