July 5: I'm Tired of Trying! I'm Tired of Fighting!

Summary:

Inko Midoriya died leaving behind her two sons. Each had a different father. One was the son of a super villain who messed with his mind and was in a villain reformation program. The other was the son of a hero who was experimenting one night and never knew he had a son until sixteen years later. The hero’s biological son doesn’t feel welcomed by his dad’s adopted son and runs away to his half brother.

Why won’t people let the hero’s son stay where he no longer has to fight to belong? Why can’t he just rest?

The other was the son of a hero who was experimenting one night and never knew he had a son until sixteen years later. Why won’t people let the hero’s son stay where he no longer has to fight to belong? Why can’t he just rest?

Disclaimer: I own zero rights to the franchise.

~~Story Begins~~

It started six months ago when Hound Dog was called into the police station by Tsukauchi at the request of the former leader of the League of Villains (LoV). Six months ago when All for One died and Shigaraki was no longer under his control with the help of a quirk called Puppet Master. Six months ago, Hound Dog became Shigaraki’s therapist and foster hero for the villain reformation (Gran Torino being the other one since two were needed) and learned that Shigaraki had a younger half brother that he would give the world to if he could. Six months ago, Hound Dog - without knowing who the younger brother was - could see how much their visits improved Shigaraki’s mood, productivity, and mental state.

It was four months ago that Hound Dog had his first counseling session with Midoriya Izuku who had sat on the floor of his office with his knees up to his chest, eyes wide and innocent like a bunny.

“Tenko says he trusts you so I’m trusting you too. I’m his younger brother. It's kind of strange but have you heard about the Greek myth Hades and Peresphone? It’s one of the best ways I found that helps explain how Tenko’s quirk works with my original quirk,” Midoriya said. “It also explains how our personalities line up.”

Four months ago, Hound Dog read that myth in order to understand how Decay works with Midoriya’s Regrowth quirk. Four months ago, Nedzu and Hound Dog both agreed that Shigaraki should keep partial custody of Midoriya in case something happens to their mom. Four months ago, Hound Dog started to learn about the abuse Midoriya went through at Aldera while Shigaraki started online college classes on being a videogame programmer.

Three months ago, Hound Dog learned the true story behind All for One and One for All. He learned that Shigaraki was a successful streamer online by playing pre-quirk era video games that were making a comeback thanks to a company’s re-releasing them. Three months ago, he watched Decay heal the wounds Midoriya had gained from class in their first group therapy session. He saw first hand how much the two cared for each other and how much positivity flew into Midoriya by being around Shigaraki that it was hard to believe that Shigaraki was the same LoV leader that tried to kill Midoriya on so many occasions.

It was three months ago that Hound Dog had taught Midoriya that some friendships needed to be broken in order to heal and that some people just didn’t want to be friends. He taught Midoriya that it was okay to remove himself from a friendship or situation if it becomes too toxic for him to heal and grow.

It was two months ago that Hound Dog was called by Midoriya because he came home to find his Mom dead. Two months ago, they found out that the person who they thought was Midoriya’s biological father was not his actual biological father. Two months ago, they found out that Midoriya’s biological father was alive and a lot closer than what they thought. Two months ago, they decided not to tell Midoriya’s biological father who his older half-brother is until Shigaraki completed his first year of the program.

Two months ago, when Midoriya went to stay with his biological father and his family, did Hound Dog start to see Midoriya’s mental health fall again and Hound Dog wonders if he might have made a mistake. Two months ago, Hound Dog went to Nedzu to talk about any possible ways they could make it to where Shigaraki and Midoriya could stay with each other if a worse case situation happens.

It’s been two months since life in the Aizawa-Yamada family changed when Aizawa received a phone call from Tsukauchi to come to the station. Two months since he saw Hound Dog talking to Midoriya who had his knees up to his chest and was crying into them. Two months since Aizawa found out that his one night of experimenting with a friendly married couple led to him being the biological father of Izuku Midoriya, his Problem Child in his homeroom class. Two months of Aizawa and Yamada trying to bond or communicate with Midoriya, to get to know him outside of a teacher-student relationship, trying to talk to him only to get interrupted each time, and watching as he slowly went back into the shell he had at the beginning of his first year unless it came to Eri. Two months of them trying to make Midoriya feel at home within their family only to have one conversation with Hound Dog and All Might to understand as to why Midoriya had quit offering to help them with cooking or eating with them.

Midoriya was deathly allergic to peppers which is an ingredient that they use a lot in their supper dishes. They didn’t even bother to ask when they took Midoriya in because he was the first one in their family to be allergic to food. Now looking back on the last two months, the adults realized that Midoriya had been trying to tell them that even touching them leads to a nasty rash. It took one more conversation with Hound Dog to know that most of Midoriya’s personal belongings were at his half-brother’s place because he doesn’t feel like their home is safe for him or his items, that he truly does want to open up to them, but feels like he can’t.

Aizawa and Yamada merely thought it was because his life had changed from knowing the truth about who his biological father was and that he has a whole new family now. That they were giving him space to get used to his surroundings and to be comfortable around them. However, it took one night right after Hitoshi’s grounding for making Midoriya chop peppers, a spontaneous sleepover, for everything to come crashing down and for their world to change again.

“Hitoshi,” Aizawa said, glaring at his adopted son who had brought over Monoma for a sleepover that neither parent knew about. “We’ve talked about this. You need to make sure that it is okay with everyone first before you invite someone over to the home.”

“Eri’s fine with it,” Hitoshi said. “You’ve never had a problem with me bringing him over before.”

Yamada crossed his arms.

“I’m not fine with it,” Yamada said. “You didn’t even ask permission from either of us. Did you even ask Izuku if he was okay with it? Have you even introduced Monoma to Izuku outside of classes? You two are sharing a room now and you need to consider his options.”

“I know for a fact that he’s been wanting to invite Todoroki and Iida over, but he’s been kind and waiting until you get ungrounded,” Aizawa said. “Even before then, when he asked, you straight out told him no. You could share the common courtesy.”

“It’s been two months,” Hitoshi said as Izuku flinched. “Besides, he’s got the perfect quirk for heroics and his live was -”

“Enough! Hitoshi, we’ve been -” Aizawa said.

“It- it’s fine,” Midoriya said. “I don’t mind if Monoma stays the night. I can just sleep on the couch or something. M-maybe at a later time, if you don’t mind Monoma, I could ask you about your quirk? It’s so unique and fascinating and there are so many possibilities you could use your quirk for! “

Monoma raised an eyebrow at that and Midoriya quickly backtracked.

“But you’re here to spend time with Shinsou and he deserves to be able to hang out with his friends. So, I’ll just go grab my notebooks and I’ll try and stay out of the way,” Midoriya said.

“Izuku,” Aizawa said with a sigh, not noticing the way there was a tiny flinch from Midoriya. “You’re not in the way. In fact, you’ve been nothing but your generous and understanding self even when we’ve tried to talk to you about yourself, Hitoshi or Eri needed something. This -” Aizawa used a hand to wave over to Hitoshi and Monoma, “ - isn’t fine. You deserve to hang out with your friends as well.”

The underground hero looked at his adopted son and friend.

“Hitoshi, I’m going to let it slide this time on the condition that you absolutely include Izuku,” Aizawa said. “And by include, I mean actually ask for his opinion on what he wants to do. Do not ignore him or keep him from participating.”

He crossed his arms.

“Honestly Hitoshi, I should just tell Monoma to go back home for your quirkest comment over Problem Child -” another flinch and gritted teeth came from two different people - “but Monoma hasn’t done anything wrong and Izuku’s analysis could help him with his quirk.”

“Ah, t-thank you for trying to make me feel included, but it’s not needed,” Midoriya said.

Yamada patted Izuku’s head which he leaned into before backing away at Hitoshi’s glare which went unnoticed.

“Green Bean, this is your home too. You don’t need to keep staying out of our way,” Yamada said.

“Why can’t the other person take custody? Why does Dad and Pops have to foster him?” Hitoshi mumbled under his breath just loud enough for Monoma who seemed slightly uncomfortable to hear.

“We want you to feel like you belong here because you totally do,” Yamada continued.

“Oh, uhm, thanks. I’ll just go now, please excuse me,” Midoriya said with a small bow before he retreated into the bedroom.

“I have to go on patrol soon. And I mean it, Hitoshi, include Izuku and do try to get along with him,” Aizawa said. “You got along with Eri, why can’t you get along with him?”

“Oh! Speaking of Eri, I need to start going to pick her up from her dance practice. We can trust you boys to get along and not cause anyone pain, right?” Yamada said.

“Of course!” Monoma said. “Like I would ever tarnish the legacy of Class 1-B by misdeeds that could ever hurt Eri or Hitoshi.”

“Or Izuku,” Aizawa said with a glare.

“He does enjoy cooking so maybe help him start getting supper started, nothing to do with peppers through Hitoshi,” Yamada said.

“Whatever,” Hitoshi said with a roll of his eyes.

Monoma and Hitoshi watched as the two Pro-Heroes left.

“He doesn’t even belong here,” Hitoshi said startling Monoma. “I mean, from what I’m understanding is that his biological father has majority custody and his older brother has partial custody! So, I don’t know why we’re even fostering him. He’s the perfect child with a perfect family and the perfect quirk that he couldn’t even be bothered to train. I don’t even know why he’s here. Dad went to the police station one day and came back with Midoriya and told me that he’s going to be staying with us for a while.”

Monoma looked over at his friend. “Have you ever thought about maybe giving him a chance? He doesn’t act like most students who think their quirk will carry them throughout life. He was worried about me copying his quirk because of the damage that could happen to me,” Monoma said.

He ignored the glare from Hitoshi.

“I’m just saying, you’ve only had bad experiences with classmates and Yamada has always made sure that he stood behind you and lectured those who bullied you. Aizawa has gone head to head against the school staff and even Nedzu got involved. Rumor was going around that he was raised by his single mother and -”

“Whatever. What father would leave their family if they had a child like Midoriya?” Hitoshi said, crossing his arms. “Can’t believe you, of all people are defending him. I thought you hated Class 1-A.”

“And yet, I can’t believe you would pull me into something like this to throw a temper tantrum,” Monoma said. “You have had a loving family while I have had to fight schools and the foster system until my adopted Dad took me in. Besides, I’ve been meaning to ask Midoriya for his quirk analysis over my quirk. I know I should focus on it, but I just can’t get into it.”

“Unbelievable! The beloved Golden Child is now taking the one hero student I consider a friend away from me.”

“What is going on with you?” Monoma said. “This isn’t like you at all.”

“I don’t want him here! I didn’t want to be his friend and now he’s forcing himself into my family, into my home! Why should my Dad and Pops foster him when his Dad is still alive? His older brother seems to love him so why can’t the perfect Golden Child stay with him instead? He hasn’t told us anything about his Dad or his family. He doesn’t belong here! He’s an intruder.”

“You want to know what you sound like right now?” Monoma said in a cold voice. “You sound exactly like one of those children who has had their life served to them on a golden platter. From what I have understood, you haven’t even given him a chance and yet, you expect him to tell you about his past and his family? Yeah, that’s not happening.”

“Neito-”

“No, enough. You’re on thin ice with your parents and you're on thin ice with me,” Monoma said. “Just get a video game setup that all of us can play and I’ll see if Midoriya would like to join us. You know you should know how it feels to finally be included into something that didn’t deal with your quirk or your parents even through your life was so much better than mine.”

Hitoshi hated the fact that he did know the feeling - the pure happiness of being included because of who he is as a person - felt. That didn’t mean that he liked that it was Midoriya he was being forced to include.

~~

When Monoma peeked inside Shinsou’s room and offered Midoriya to come play video games with them, Midoriya was happy. He was being included in something instead of feeling like he did back since his brother was taken away from him when he was four. He wasn’t being excluded for being too weak, a liability, or being included just because he made for an excellent moving target.

After the Sports Festival, Midoriya did try to befriend Shinsou because he knew Shinsou would make for a great hero and he just wanted to help him. This way, when Shinsou did make it into the hero course, he would have friends and not be so far behind in his studies. However, it was becoming too much for Midoriya and all the toxicity and rejections that Shinsou had said to him or behind his back was well…

…it almost felt like his early friendship with Kacchan after his brother’s disappearance and was rendered as quirkless.

He talked it over with Hound Dog over two months of therapy sessions and gave up on being friends with Shinsou after a long mental breakdown. Then his mother died and what he thought of what he knew about his family wasn’t a complete lie, but it also wasn’t the full-truth.

He knew Tenko was his half-brother that Tenko’s dad had met their mom five years before she met Hisashi. Then she met Hisashi, got married to him when Tenko was three and Hisashi loved Tenko like he was his own. Midoriya was born a year later.

They were a happy family of four until All for One killed Hisashi when Midoriya was four years old and took eight year old Tenko away from them.

Izuku Midoriya knew that he had inherited his mom’s bleeding heart because she was a dang good case worker with children focusing on getting all of the children under her care into good loving homes. He wanted to try and learn how to help his sweet mother who had lost her oldest son and husband within a month of each other, so he learned how children are treated within the foster system and the stories that his Mom had told him.

He is relieved when he sees Tenko again at the USJ, but it was short-lived. He knows the Tenko - the one who Kurogiri calls Shigaraki and Young Master - is not his brother Tenko. That Shigaraki was a puppet using Tenko’s body, Tenko’s quirk, but Tenko was still in there. When he reached for Tsu’s face, Midoriya saw his eyes bleeding for help, and he was terrified of what his body and quirk had been doing against his control.

So, Inko and Izuku worked behind the scenes, gaining favors from the government, police, heroes, and anyone that could help smooth the transition of getting Tenko into the villain reformation program.

Tenko would have had full custody if anything happened to their Mom after he completed a year of the program. Tenko was six months into the program when Inko died due to medical complications and Izuku found his mom that night, which left Izuku in a state of limbo, which is why he wanted Hound Dog to be called. Then the social worker’s quirk revealed that Hisashi Midoriya wasn’t his father, but Shouta Aizawa, the Pro-Hero Eraserhead, his homeroom teacher, was.

That wouldn’t be a problem, except that Aizawa was also Shinsou’s adoptive dad and Shinsou had already hated him already. He just knows that Shinsou would think he’s lying and/or trying to replace him. He talked to Hound Dog again in length over what to do because he didn’t trust Shinsou, he couldn’t trust Shinsou, not when Shinsou has made it clear many times that Shinsou does not care for him, that Shinsou sees him as some sort of perfect child without even getting to know him. However, Midoriya decided to try and bond with Shinsou again before letting him know that Aizawa was his biological dad, maybe then Shinsou wouldn’t feel like he’s being replaced, that Midoriya wasn’t whatever Shinsou was making him out to be.

So when Midoriya started to live with them, he did try many times to tell him that he was allergic to peppers, but the more he tried, the more Shinsou threw a small fit. The more Shinsou threw a fit, the more Midoriya felt like an intruder because Shinsou wasn’t letting him feel welcome. Shinsou was always staring at him, judging him, waiting for one wrong move to hold it in front of Midoriya’s face that he wasn’t following the house rules.

He spent more time at Tenko’s apartment when he could sneak out than he did on Recovery Girl’s bed in the nurse’s office, just crying and sleeping. He told Hound Dog that it was getting to the point that he didn’t feel comfortable with Aizawa or Yamada calling him Midoriya, Izuku, Problem Child, or even Green Bean. That he should just be called Intruder.

Midoriya was going to talk to Aizawa and Yamada tonight while Eri was at dance practice. Midoriya was going to make Shinsou wait or at least talk back to Shinsou so he could be heard for once. It’s been two months since he moved here, two months of keeping everything bottled up, and Midoriya needed to talk to them both about Shinsou’s behavior. It was taking a toll on him, but of course, Shinsou just had to bring a friend over the night after his grounding. He couldn’t be mean to Monoma when Monoma has done nothing wrong.

Maybe he should’ve either way. It would’ve been far better for the others to hear it, to get it off of his chest before running away like the coward that he was, to actually enjoy a warm take-out meal with Tenko, to actually feel like he was a family. Then maybe Monoma wouldn’t get caught in the cross-fire and Eri wouldn’t have to see how weak of a hero he is.

However, the blow out wasn’t Monoma’s or Shinsou’s fault. It was his own fault for jumping at the invitation, to play video games with them. It was his own fault for looking up from his notebook (because while Monoma had tried to include him, Shinsou did not), while the two bickered over how to do a puzzle in the game. He didn’t keep his mouth shut as he kindly walked them on how to do it because Tenko had just gotten past this part in the game in his streams when everything went wrong.

“Why can’t you just stay out of my life? Hm? Why couldn’t you just stay away? Can’t you just take a hint? No one here wants you within the house except for Eri and that’s just because you’re her hero! I didn’t ask for your help! I don’t want you here! So, why can’t you just leave already and go back to your perfect family?” Shinsou said, slamming the controller down.

At the point, Midoriya didn’t know if he was starting to have a panic attack, mental breakdown, or if Danger Sense took over because the only thing he knows is running into Yamada and Eri as he ran out of the teacher’s dormitory building, throwing his notebook which had a start of Monoma’s quirk analysis on it at Yamada’s face who was trying to get him to calm down.

“Whoah, Izuku, what -” Yamada said.

“Don’t touch me! Don’t talk to me! Don’t call me that or Green Bean, or Problem Child, or even Midoriya! Just call me Intruder because that’s all I ever am. Tell Aizawa don’t even bother to try and find me because I’m not going to be his problem anymore, I’m dropping out of U.A,” Midoriya said.

The next thing he remembers is seeing Tenko trying to get him to breathe normally while on the phone and the only person who Tenko calls Mutt is Hound Dog.

~~

Aizawa was no longer doing his patrol. Was he still stopping crime while he tried to find Izuku Midoriya? Yes.

His husband’s phone call hurt about what Midoriya had said before he ran away with his quirk activated, but the saving grace is that unless Midoriya had his signature, he couldn’t drop out of U.A. Aizawa was not going to let Midoriya drop out of heroics or U.A., not when he shows time and time again that he belongs there. They were going to discuss it first between the three of them.

It was a shock to Hizashi and himself when they were told two months ago that Izuku was Aizawa’s child and he wasn’t going to give up his custody of his own son. He wasn’t going to give up on Hitoshi, but when they got home after he found Izuku, and Eri was tucked away in bed, they were going to talk. They should have talked to Izuku a while ago instead of letting him put himself off to the side. He just lost his mother and his whole life was flipped sideways, they should have told Hitoshi to wait sometimes.

Aizawa let out a deep breath as he landed on a rooftop. Izuku has proven that he belongs in Heroics - inside and outside of the classroom, and he’s going to hate to do this, but he will have to talk to Nedzu as soon as Izuku is found. He’s going to retract his opinion of Hitoshi being ready for Heroics. He’s been trying to get Hitoshi to stop viewing quirks as how people lived because no one except that person knows what happens behind closed doors.

Hound Dog already couldn’t be Hitoshi’s therapist because of how much progress Izuku has made with him and he could no longer be unbiased. Also, ever since Hitoshi’s third year of elementary school when a parent forced Hitoshi to wear a muzzle for a music contest, muzzles were triggers for him, but Hound Dog’s muzzle is a comfort item for Hound Dog.

Aizawa and Yamada did sue that parent and won their case.

His phone started to buzz with the vibrations of an incoming phone call.

“Eraserhead,” Aizawa said in greeting.

“U.A. staff and families will be having an early meeting tomorrow morning. We will be gaining a new ward and I expect you to trust not only Hound Dog and myself, but your Problem Child as well,” Nedzu said.

“Rat, I know that you know that I trust your judgment. You helped Present Mic and myself be the heroes that we are today,” Aizawa said. He looked up at the cloudy sky. “And at this point, that is all I can give Izuku. My complete trust and support. I failed him as a parent for allowing him to keep putting his own issues to the side so we could focus on Hitoshi and Eri. He just had his world turned around just like we did and I expected him to come to me with problems. I should have put him first, I should’ve seen the signs that Hitoshi was bullying him, preventing him from reaching out.”

“We both know that Midoriya won’t ever think that you failed as a parent -”

“To Hitoshi and Eri, but I failed him.”

“I am also calling to inform you that I will not be accepting Midoriya leaving U.A. Especially since he is one of my own.”

“When did that happen exactly?”

“Four months ago. Also, in light of recent events, I cannot approve of Shinsou’s transfer into Heroics.”

“I understand, sir. I was-”

“No, Aizawa. You do not understand. This is the second time Shinsou had led to Midoriya having a mental breakdown. A few months ago. Hound Dog had reassured Midoriya that it is okay to quit trying to be Shinsou’s friend-”

“-and now they’ve brothers,” Aizawa said.

“Exactly. Midoriya had tried again for Yamada and your sakes so Shinsou wouldn’t feel like he was being replaced, but Midoriya does not trust Shinsou. However, after tonight, his older brother isn’t going to sugar coat things with Shinsou.”

“Wait, am I going to meet him? Do you know where Izuku is?”

Aizawa could hear the laughter in Nedzu’s voice that promises pain for someone.

“Yes, Aizawa. I know exactly where Midoriya is and he’s with Hound Dog. As for his older brother, you’re going to be neighbors.”

~~

The meeting room was filled with the U.A. staff and their families. Nedzu sat at the head of the conference table, watching as everyone mingled amongst themselves. Nedzu watched as Monoma looked around, not even glancing at Shinsou before looking up at his adoptive father who was the homeroom teacher of Class 1-B.

“Midoriya wasn’t found last night?” Monoma said in which a shake of Vlad King’s head was his answer.

“Everyone, please quiet down,” Nedzu said. “I have some announcements to make.”

“Shouldn’t we wait for Hound Dog?” Snipe said.

“He’ll be coming in later. The first announcement is that thanks to Hound Dog willing to move apartments, he will now be in Room 524. The reason for his move is because we are gaining a new ward of U.A. and will be moving into Inui’s old apartment. I expect all of you to show the new ward the same respect we share with each other even with his shady history.”

“Shady history?” Recovery Girl’s husband said. “Can’t be any shadier than mine!”

“Please, just stop with the paint jokes,” Midnight said with a groan.

“I find them to be quite HUEmorous myself,” Recovery Girl said with a chuckle.

“Okay, before we get too carried away here, why does that require a meeting? We’ve gained new wards before but it never required a meeting before no matter their past or have one of our own move apartments,” Ectoplasma said.

“It deals with Midoriya,” Aizawa said. “This new ward happens to be his older brother. I don’t know who this person is, but he shares partial custody of Midoriya.”

“Partial means half, who has the other half of custody?” Yagi said.

“Wait, it’s not you?” Cemetoss said. “I thought for sure that you were his father.”

Yagi shook his head. “He’s been very quiet about his family since his mom’s untimely death.”

“I’m surprised, but that does explain some things,” Aizawa said, placing his hands under his chin with his fingers linked. “I have majority custody of Izuku since he is my biological son. Now, before everyone starts screaming about it,” he gave a quick glance to Vlad, Midnight, and Yagi. “Izuku and I didn’t know about being father and son until two months ago thanks to his social worker’s quirk.”

It was quiet. Yagi was staring at Aizawa like he ruined the whole world and became the new number one villain.

“Now isn’t the time for a logical ruse, Dad,” Shinsou said.

“It’s not a logical ruse,” Aizawa said.

“Like hell it isn’t! How does he get a quirk like that from you or his mom?” Shinsou said standing up from his chair.

“Sit down, Hitoshi,” Yamada said.

“You knew about this?” Hitoshi said.

“Of course I did,” Yamada said. “We didn’t tell you about it at the request of Midoriya and the suggestion of Hound Dog. Now sit down.”

“No! I deserved to know about this! Eri deserved to know about this so please explain to me as to -”

“Your Dad and Izuku don’t have to explain anything about Izuku’s past or his quirks or his decisions with you,” a voice said as the door opened. “Now, you’re going to sit down and shut up. You’ve thrown enough temper tantrums and drama around that makes Compress over dramatic acts of his sheer boredom look like child’s play and guess what?”

A hand slammed on top of the table, all five fingers down on it as everyone stared at the speaker. Aqua blue hair with waves of curls went down to a black video game character shirt, crimson eyes burning with fury at Shinsou, and his pale skin was accented by his shirt and dark blue pants.

“I’m karma and I’m going to deliver,” the voice said, “but first the rules. Call me Shimura. You can check my phone all you want, but I still keep in contact with Toga, Dabi, and Compress. I don’t care who checks my apartment, but unless my Player Two gives you permission, you leave his room alone. I do require a fifteen minute warning if you’re going to be checking my apartment because I might be in class or working.”

“Shigaraki what-”

“Rule one, All Might. Call me Shimura. Shigaraki was my biological father’s name and I already have enough connections to him that I don’t want,” Shimura said, crossing his arms. He turned his focus to Aizawa and Yamada. “The only person not allowed in my apartment is Shinsou and I will fight you if you even think of letting Izuku drop out of U.A. Not after he has broken himself time and time again to prove that he can be a hero. I also get Izuku on the weekends during breaks that are non-negotiable unless there is an event. We’ll discuss the custody once school starts back up.”

“Nedzu, please explain why the leader of the League of Villains is here?” Vlad King said as he stood up and placed himself in front of Monoma.

“I thought it was already explained,” Nedzu said. “He’s Midoriya’s older brother who has partial custody of Midoriya. Hound Dog has been his therapist the last six months and alongside Gran Torino been his foster hero for the Villain Reformation Program.”

“Ah, so you have met my brother then,” Recovery Girl’s husband said.

“Yes and his sense of humor is weird,” Shimura said.

“I find it positively DYElightful myself,” Recovery Girl’s husband said.
“Oh no! There’s two of them,” Shimura whispered in fear.

“Tomura!” Midoriya’s voice said, causing everyone to look at the newcomer who just shoved something into the ex-villain’s mouth. “You need to try this!”

“Brat! Quit putting your disgusting pro-” Shimura started to say only to stop to actually chew the food as he stared down at Midoriya who was looking at him with hopeful green eyes. Hound Dog shook his head as he shut the door behind. “What did you just feed me? It tastes like my favorite cereal, but you aren’t holding a bowl of cereal?”

“It’s a cereal bar!” Midoriya said, pulling the said item from behind his back. “It isn’t a good substitute for a decent breakfast, but it will make due if you’re working on your game or assignments.”

“Can’t believe you thought you could skip out on breakfast, pup,” Hound Dog said.

“Shush Mutt,” Shimura said, grabbing the cereal bar. His red eyes staring at the bar with childlike wonder. “Where has this been all my life? This is the holy grail of all breakfast foods!”

Midoriya looked unamused and flicked Shimura’s nose.

“Brat! What was that for?” Shimura said.

Hound Dog let out a gruff laugh as he sat down.

“I said that it isn’t a good substitute,” Midoriya said. “Consider it a weak healing spell or item.”

“Are we sure this is the same leader of the league?” Midnight said.

“Yes and he’s the ex-leader,” Hound Dog said as Shimura placed his hand on Izuku’s head while he ate the cereal bar. “Shimura wasn’t in control. His father was using a quirk called Puppet Control on him since he was eight.”

“And his father is-” Yagi said.

“Dead. That’s all you need to know,” Shimura said. “You shouldn’t be so worried. I’m already wearing a tracker and quirk cuffs.”

“Which you’ve shown you can remove in a flash,” Nedzu said, “but you’ve always had a reason for it. Back to the business at hand. Tomura Shimura is our new ward. He has already agreed to a list of rules. Now, onto other news, if Midoriya gets hurt, Shimura has permission to use his Decay quirk on him.”

“What?” Aizawa and Yagi both said in surprise. “Why would-”

“It deals with my original quirk which I call Regrowth,” Midoriya said. “We use the Greek myth of Hades and Peresphone to explain it, but it can also be explained with science. The best nutrients that soil can have is from something that has been decayed so decay restores nutrients within my body to regrow my injuries. It doesn’t work if I don’t have decay stored in my body then my injuries, even old ones won’t be healed. If I have too much decay stored then I start growing grass and flowers.”

“Basically, I’m Hades and Zuku is Peresphone,” Shimura said.

“No!” Shinsou said. “Why does -”

“If you’re going to mention anything about his quirks, then I’m letting you know now that you do not have the right to know,” Nedzu said raising a paw as Shimura pushed Izuku behind him a little while guiding him to a chair closer to Hound Dog. “The staff of U.A. will soon become aware of the knowledge and only them. If it’s about Midoriya getting his own room, then it is because you create a toxic environment for Midoriya which has not helped him heal from his mother’s untimely death or allowed him to actually bond with the rest of your family. Whether you like it or not, Shinsou, you are brothers.”

Aizawa watched as Shimura pulled Midoriya closer to his side as they looked over at his cell phone, whispering to each other which was causing Midoriya to chuckle. He noticed Yagi watching too and a pang of jealousy, an illogical emotion, stabbed him in the heart. Of course he’s going to try and stay close to them. Yagi’s mentor was Shimura’s grandmother and Yagi was Midoriya’s mentor which possibly made Inko be the daughter of Nana Shimura.

Aizawa went back to watching the two boys, then again, he’s never seen Midoriya be this relaxed before.

“Now, with the exception of Midoriya, Shinsou, and Shimura, the next meeting concerns just the staff of U.A. Monoma, would you be willing to babysit Eri for a little bit?” Nedzu said.

“Of course, sir,” Monoma said with a bow. “And I’m sorry for last night, Midoriya. I didn’t know Hitoshi would react like that. If I did, I wouldn’t have agreed to playing that game and picked a different game.”

“There’s no need for you to apologize, you did nothing wrong,” Midoriya said. “But thank you.”

“Hitoshi, you have to wait outside until we come to get you,” Aizawa said. “We aren’t done with you yet.”

“Fine,” Hitoshi said as he followed everyone outside but took a seat outside the doors.

Thirty minutes passed and Shinsou could hear a lot of arguing going on for the last fifteen minutes. Most of it seemed to be directed towards All Might which had Shinsou chuckling that Midoriya’s precious number one hero was getting into trouble and he had to cover his mouth to stop his laughter as he also heard Midoriya getting yelled at.

Shinsou wasn’t expecting for the door to slam open or to see his dad and Vlad King dragging All Might out of the room before tossing him down the stairs.

“Aizawa! Kan!” Ectoplasma said, already making clones.

“No, no,” Snipe said. “I agree with those two on this. We should’ve been made aware of this from the very beginning. At least with Shimura here now, the kid is slowly getting his arms and fingers healed.”

“If you come anywhere near my family alone, especially Izuku or Shimura, and my class, I will personally stab you right where your injury is,” Aizawa said. “I cannot believe how many times I’ve almost lost Izuku before knowing he was my son just because of your stupidity.”

“You are not allowed near Monoma or my own class again, at least not alone,” Vlad King said.

“I think we need to calm down,” Nedzu said from his spot in the meeting room. “Remember, no one needs to know about this as they are not a danger to each other and even then, it is their own secrets to tell who they want to. Shinsou, you can come in now. This will only require Aizawa, Yamada. Hound Dog, Midoriya, and Shimura, you may stay here as well. I would recommend it for you, Midoriya as it concerns you as well. You aren’t in trouble, Midoriya.”

“We would like it very much if you would stay,” Yamada said.

Shinsou quickly stepped inside the room as the staff began to leave. Ectoplasma and his clones started to help Yagi up who was trying to come up with half-baked excuses -”

“Yagi, you won’t win this battle with Aizawa or Kan or any heroic homeroom teacher. Rule one when dealing with the homeroom teachers of heroic students. Don’t mess around with their kids.”

Once everyone was out except for those who were requested to stay, Aizawa shut the door and Yamada went to Midoriya.

“Listener, please tell me what to call you because you might be comfortable with being called intruder, but I don’t feel comfortable calling you that,” Yamada said clearly wanting to hug his step-son but not.

“Listener is fine,” Midoriya said leaning into Shimura’s side.

“Before we get into the main point of this last meeting,” Aizawa said, looking at Shimura. “I don’t know about the rest of my family, but I would like to attend some nightly dinners to get to now the Shimura of now and not the Shigaraki of the past”

“Oh, I would most definitely join,” Yamada said. “If that’s okay!”

“He would love for you two and maybe Eri and later Shinsou can join later,” Midoriya said only for Shimura’s hand to tap the top of his head.

“Don’t answer for me brat,” Shimura said.

“You’ll forget to make yourself food otherwise or to take a break,” Midoriya said. “Hound Dog and I cannot always be there to make sure you take care of yourself.”

“Ugh. Fine, but don’t blame me if I get fat,” Shimura said.

“”Our metabolisms are already fast, add in our quirks, and so the chances of either of us becoming fat is slim to none,” Midoriya said.

“Did I ask-”

“Besides, I’m sure Yamada and Aizawa would love to hear about Chicken Wings,” Midoriya said. “They do love gossip.”

Hound Dog let out gruff. “You do have a lot of gossip about Hawks,” Hound Dog said.

“It isn’t my fault that he has a pretty -” Shimura started to say.

“Hot and yes the pun is intended,” Midoriya said, interrupting him.

“Player Two, I’m going to kill you,” Shimura said as Midoriya laughed.

“You know his boyfriend is hot, admit it~” Midoriya said in a teasing voice.

“I’m already admitting that he’s pretty, what more do you want from me,” Shimura said. “Anyway, chicken wings boyfriend complains to me all the time about him, so yeah, I have the gossip, but I hate it.”

“Intriguing as it is, we need to discuss something important,” Aizawa said. He looked over at Hitoshi who was sitting next to Yamada now. “Hitoshi, you are my son just as much as Izuku is and Eri is my daughter.”

“We love all of you and want to support you in your dreams,” Yamada said. “However, after what happened last night and your treatment of Listener.”

“We have decided that you will not be transferring into Heroics,” Aizawa said.

Izuku opened his mouth to protest, but Shimura placed his hand over his mouth.

“Be quiet, Player Two, the adults are talking about something important,” Shimura said.

“What?” Hitoshi said with his eyes widened. “Why? Because of him? He’s been trying to ruin my life since the Sports Festival! And unless I see DNA results I refuse to believe that he’s your actual son!”

“Oh?” Nedzu said with a little twitch. “Ignoring the second part, how has Midoriya tried to ruin your life?”

“Besides the obvious coming in and destroying my family, making my Dad and Pops choose his side over me,” Hitoshi said, ignoring how Midoriya buried his head into Shimura’s shoulder. “He kept trying to invite me to hang out with him and his heroic friends just so they could use me. He kept asking if I wanted to study with them and what other reason was there to invite a General Education student if not to laugh at me?”

“I remember doing that to you, Shou,” Yamada said. “I did it because I did find you cute and knew you would get into Heroics at one point and wanted to make sure you were up to date with us.”

“And you have no idea how thankful I was when I finally did accept your invitation. Even though you caused a lot of headaches, you saved me a lot more,” Aizawa said with a nod. “Heroics is a tough class even if you did make it through the recommendations or the entrance exam, it’s almost near impossible to get through Heroics without anyone to help.”

“Well, even then he kept asking me if he could ask questions about my quirk or to train with him,” Hitoshi said.

“I just wanted to be friends,” Midoriya said with a small whimper. “I just know you would be an excellent hero one day and just wanted to help.”

“News flash! No one with a flashy quirk wants to be friends with someone like me,” Hitoshi said.

“News flash, you never gave him a chance,” Shimura said. “Ever since we were little Zuku has always loved quirks and heroes. Every quirk he came across he always knew it would be perfect for heroics and with every quirk, he had questions about ways the person could make it better.”

Shimura ruffled Midoriya’s hair.

“Heck, he already had me pinned as a rescue or underground hero while he would be a medical healer with how our quirks work together,” Shimura said.

“Hitoshi,” Yamada said with a frown. “You told us that you didn’t need to go to therapy anymore. That you weren't still judging people based on their quirks. You’ve known Iida most of your life and he’s been nothing but kind.”

“Yeah, because you two are his uncles,” Hitoshi said. “He wants nothing to do with me and you have Midoriya who comes in and stays in our house for no reason-”

“Izuku is my son, my biological son,” Aizawa said.

“You can deny it all you want, but Midoriya is Aizawa’s son as well, pup,” Hound Dog said. “He had given up on being your friend for his own mental health. Then he was placed into his Dad’s care. We talked it over at length before Midoriya decided to try and be your friend, your brother, before you found out about who his Dad was.”

“He didn’t want you to feel like he was going to be replacing you,” Yamada said.

“Indeed,” Nedzu said. “However, Hitoshi, this was a decision that even if your Dad and Pops did not come too, it would have still taken place. I have deemed it that you were unfit to be in the Heroics course at this time. You are too toxic for Midoriya and he has tried time and time again to get to know you better, to become acquaintances or brother, at the risk of his own mental health.”

Hitoshi clenched his fists together.

“Shinsou, he still has a chance at being a hero right?” Midoriya said. “He would be so amazing at it and his quirk is perfect for hostage negotiations, calming people down, even getting information from suspects!”

“Brat, you need to stop worrying about others and just focus on yourself,” Shimura said. “You’ve done everything you could and even more. He needs to learn the truth the hard way, okay?”

“Yes, there is still hope for Shinsou to be a hero, but he’ll need to figure it out himself,” Nedzu said. “You’ve tried and fought enough in order to help him. It is time for you to rest and heal while bonding with most of your new family.”

“Pup, you can bond with Shinsou as a brother when you are ready,” Hound Dog said. “If Shinsou does get the proof he needs to believe that you are indeed your father’s son -

“Which he won’t,” Aizawa said glaring at Shinsou.

“ - or decides to try and bond with you so his family will be back whole, it is up to you. Not him.”

“But, Mom always talked about how bad the foster system was and -”

“Listener, Hitoshi was never a part of the foster system,” Yamada said. “He’s my nephew that my sister left at my place because raising a child isn’t what she thought it was.”

Purple eyes made contact with heartbroken green eyes.

“This whole time, I thought you didn’t want me around because you didn’t want to share your home, that with me being there that you might feel like I was taking your family away. That if I did tell you that Aizawa was my father, that you would feel like I was replacing you. I did all of this to try and help you feel comfortable with my presence in your family because I thought you went through the system like Monoma did?”

Hitoshi stood up, knocking his chair over.

“How did you know Monoma was in the system?” Hitoshi said.

“He doesn’t have to answer that,” Shimura said with a growl.

“Do you really hate me that much? What did I ever do to you to get you to hate me? Was it because of my quirk? The fact that I genuinely wanted to be your friend? Or was it because I knocked you out of the Sports Festival?” Midoriya said in hysterical.

Hitoshi looked away.

“Was it because I had a flashy quirk? No, it doesn’t matter. I’m done trying to be your friend, I’m tired of it,” Midoriya said as he leaned against Shimura. “I’m so tired of it. Just once, I wish someone would try to befriend me, to fight for their chance at proving themselves to be a friend to me.”

“We’re done here,” Shimura said standing up. “We both need a nap and some comfort take-out. My new game should’ve finished downloading now. I know you were excited to play it.”

“Thank you, Tenko,” Midoriya said, also standing up.

“I have twelve years of big brother spoiling to do,” Shimura said. “I can start doing it when it matters the most.”
