Izuku Midoriya, is getting ready to welcome in a new class of aspiring heroes. Just as he prepares himself for another year as one of the top teachers at UA, he learns that some of his best friends are being sent on a mission overseas. The only one who will tell him anything is Katsuki, and even he's being unusually careful. He wonders if he can have his new mech suit ready to join them, but the call comes quickly, and he's left behind again. He never imagined that this mission would become so personal, or that his feelings for his best friend would come to light after so long in the dark.
Katsuki Bakugo returned to Japan after a 1-year internship in the United States that quickly turned into a 3-year internship, and the guilt of how he left that night still eats at him. When he returned to Japan after a serious accident with his Sensei, he vowed to take his relationships more seriously. When he shocked the hero world by declaring that he would remain unsigned to any agency, effectively "going rogue", he thought he would have more opportunities to distract himself from what was out of his reach. He never thought healing would come from protecting his childhood friend... or a class full of gremlins.

It was as though a weight had settled on the boy’s shoulders and a stone dropped in Shouta’s belly at the comment he’d been issued.
Problem Child had never spoken to him that way, never with that utter remorse and aloof nature that came from one who clearly didn’t want to talk about their problems, even if they were written on their face and ingrained into every thought and word they spoke and shared.
A bitterness.
A loneliness.
A sorrow that couldn’t quite remain tucked away…
It bothered Shouta, more than it ought to, that Problem Child would speak in such a way, the distracted and morose expression swirling in his verdant orbs so alarming that the man couldn’t rightly stop the frown on his face from deepening at the sight.

The boy’s eyes always tended to give him away.
They were shining, of course, bright and vibrant in their intensity and joy, and matching his classmates in that respect and looking a tad more rested than he had the days prior (which was a small relief for the man).
However, beneath the almost forced cheer he could see something…
A flicker and glimmer of something unpleasant, unhappy.
A hurt that the boy seemed either unaware of (unlikely) or trying to ignore.
And it was the same look that Todoroki and Shinsou both had sometimes too, that haunted sort of shadow that filtered through when they thought people weren’t paying attention to them.
Shouta didn’t like that look, especially in the gazes of children.Series

Perhaps it had been Hizashi’s concerned gaze as he listened to Eri make suggestions for Shinsou’s sweater, much to the boy’s bewilderment. Another cat, she’d decided.
Perhaps it had been a number of things that provoked Shouta to lean forward, a hand coming to rest on the sweater still in the boy’s hands, watching as emerald eyes locked onto him, unabashedly confused and intimidated (judging by the reaction he received).
Or perhaps it had been the kindness that he’d seen Midorya give towards Eri. The same kindness he seemed confused by when it was extended towards him.
And that broke something in Shouta’s resolve, provoking him to move and to act and to do…Series

Horrifically, and surprisingly, it works.
I plan on their dynamic to be similar to Lloyd Frontera and Javier Asrahan from The Greatest Estate Developer.

“What do you think Hizashi would like on his Christmas card?” the man mumbled softly to the girl, watching as her eyes flickered towards the blonde voice hero across the room, before she hummed thoughtfully.
Another gaze towards Problem Child and the proffered scissors had the man peering across the table and spying the delicate work on the half cut snowflake Midoriya had been working on a moment prior.
“You have a good eye for that” he noted softly, watching the boy’s brows furrow in consternation, a hint of a pleased look flashing as well.
A ghost of smile danced on the boy’s lips as he nodded in thanks.
“I...I’m not really...used to making things like this” the kid remarked lowly, a bit hesitant in his reply, “My mom and I...we just went simple on decorations and traditions.”
They went simple…
There was a double meaning there. He could see it in the boy’s tentative gaze as he’d opened up and spoken the words aloud, as though it was some sort of taboo to do so.Series

These visons intrude on his quiet moments and threaten his grip on reality. As he mentors a new generation of students, Izuku struggles to reconcile his public image with his private torment, questioning whether he truly left All For One behind.Possibly out of character and heavy cannon divergence.
