Robin and Steve had shift at Family Video. That day, there was only few people. Suddenly someone entered the store.
''Hey Will! What's up?" Steve asked.
''Hey Steve, I have sleepover with Mike and I wanted to rent a movie"
Robin saw that Will slightly blushed, but he immediately turned away. She knew that Will has crush on Mike. Her gay radar was never wrong. It was obvious- he always acted strange around him and blushed at every touch.
Robin decided to talk with him. She wanted him to know, that he isn't the only one in this small (and kinda homophobic) town.
The boy was choosing a movie and Robin was doing something behind the counter.
After a couple of minutes, Will wanted to pay.
"Okay, have fun, kid!" Steve said.
"Thanks!" He answered and turned away to go home, but Robin interrupted him.
"Wait! I want to talk to you" She said quickly.
"Uhh, okay..?" He was kinda suprised. He and Robin weren't in close.
"Come here" Robin led him to the place where they were alone. She leaned against the shelf.
Will didn't know what was going on. Did he do something wrong?
''Listen, Will. I know we aren't close, but I wanted you to know you're not alone in this" She started.
"What...?" He was confused. Alone in what?
"I see that you like Mike" She said suddenly.
"What? No! It's not... I don't..." He panicked. How did she know that? "Is it really that obvious...?" He though.
Robin saw that Will was scared.
"Will, I'm not mad or anything!" She put her hand on his shoulder. "I know it isn't easy to tell. Look, I understand you, I'm lesbian!" She smiled.
"Wait, really?"
Will looked very shocked. He though that she was gonna hate him, but it turned out that she is gay too!
"Yeah!"
"I though you were with Steve!"
"What..No, never!" They bursted out laughing. "We're bestfriends. It's platonic relation with capital P!"
Will was so happy knowing that there was someone like him. Someone who understands being gay in 80s.
"So, do you have crush on him? I see how you look at him"
"Yeah..."
"I have crush too! It's girl from school, Vickie. She is the prettiest girl i've- okay okay not now. Listen, being gay isn't wrong, or disguisting. You can't control who you like, or change your sexuality"
Will always was bullied for who he was. People in school and his father, Lonnie, were often calling him slurs. Sometimes, he started to believe that he is not normal. And now, he met a person who said that is not true.
" But Mike is straight! She had a girlfriend..."
"Do you know that you can like boys and girls? It's called bisexuality!"
"Really?" He was suprised.
"Yes" She said. "And I want you to know that you can always come to me! Since I like girls, I don't know anything about romantic relationships with boys but I will always try to help you"
They laughed.
"Thank you, it means a lot to me!" Will smiled.
