Chapter 1: A Quick Breakdown
Chapter Text
Hello and welcome!
The lack of a canon timeline and detailed map really bugged me, so I decided to try and put a timeline together, and have attempted to try and figure out the path the crew had to take for each of their respective arcs. I feel like I'm slowly going insane, but that's fine.
I'll be analysing the episodes of DDB (DOTA: Dragon's Blood) and surmising an approximate timeframe. In some cases, I will be taking some artistic freedom to lengthen certain events, as in some places it does feel that the pacing may have come across much too fast for my own liking.
I'll break it up into three sections - one per season, or rather, books as they are referred to - with each section having eight chapters dedicated to each of the eight episodes in that book, and then a final chapter summarising the overall plot and timeframe that I believe the book to have taken place over.
Please do keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion and you are more than welcome to disagree with certain points. I'm more than willing to hear anyone out and have a constructive discussion. However, if you're merely here to be a troll or be toxic, I won't be giving you the time of day.
Hope that some people find this enjoyable!

Chapter 2: B1E1: What the Thunder Said
Summary:
Dragon Knight Davion makes an ominous discovery and meets a princess who has a plan; a fiery fight burns its hero.
Notes:
Do keep in mind that I won't be doing a full breakdown of each and every single scene, just the instances which indicate a definite passage of time, or a lack thereof.
Chapter Text
We see Davion and Bram arrive late afternoon, going into early evening. The fight does not seem to take all that long, and when Davion arrives in Barrowhaven, it appears to still be the same day, indicating that the nest is not that far away from the village. Safest bet would be an hour's ride on horseback - close enough that a wyrmling would pose a threat to Barrowhaven, but far enough away that the threat isn't immediate.
Davion encounters Mirana, Marci and Gwanwyn in the tavern. The night passes, and Bram awakens Davion in what appears to be morning to inform him of Frühling. Bram teleports to Dragon Hold and Davion rides in an attempt to stop Frühling from disturbing Uldorak, the earth Eldwurm. We have further evidence that the nest is not too far from Barrowhaven, as it is still morning by the time Davion arrives at the entrance.
After the fight between Slyrak and Terrorblade, we see that Davion has most likely been unconscious for an entire day, as we see him leaving the cave at night, only to be found the following morning by Mirana and Marci.
Looking at events, starting from the evening Davion arrives, we can safely assume that the overall timeline of this episode is approximately two days - three if you're counting the day he arrives and then the other two days (one where he wakes up in the tavern, and the next where he wakes up in the forest).
Estimated time: 2 days
Chapter 3: B1E2: Princess of Nothing
Summary:
Mirana and Marci lend a hand to Davion, who remembers little; the Black Market calls; Davion spits out a telltale ring and unleashes a beast.
Chapter Text
Starts where What the Thunder Said (B1E1) ended. At least a few hours pass from Davion being found to him waking up in camp. It's safe to assume that this would be on the same day that Mirana and Marci found him. This would technically count as the third day in the series - as it started on a late afternoon.
The journey to Haupstadt is not too clearly indicated, seeming to take anywhere between a few days to about a week. For my own sanity, I'll be going with a week and a half, as it will give the trio some time to bond, but not enough to really get to know each other beyond the surface.
In Haupstadt, they arrive seemingly early to mid-afternoon. It seems that they take the afternoon to settle in, as Mirana and Marci only come back down to the tavern in the evening, where Davion encounters Deeb. Mirana and Marci head to the Black Market, while Davion remains unconscious, and are captured.
Davion, Mirana and Marci spend the rest of their following day preparing for their own struggles. It appears to be early to mid-afternoon when the encounter with Deeb and his company takes place.
We could, in theory, count the first part of this episode as a day, but that's up for debate. However, the week and a half would be roughly eleven days, and then they spend about two days in Haupstadt. Adding those all together would give us about fourteen days.
Estimated time: 14 days
Chapter 4: B1E3: Neverwhere Land
Summary:
Visions drive a haunted Dragon Knight and a gifted lotus thief; Fymryn sets out to find her sorcerer as a Mirana is humbled by a treacherous path.
Chapter Text
Starts where Fymryn recounts how she stole the lotuses. She's been gone for a while, and there's no real explanation given for how her shadowstep works, but I would assume it does provide her with some minute increase in speed, and thus making travel much faster, although only at night and in shaded areas. We can most likely assume that it took her a few weeks, if not a whole month, to get to the Nightsilver Woods and back to Coedwig.
I do believe there is some overlap between Fymryn's timeline here and the timeline we have in What the Thunder Said (B1E1) & Princess of Nothing (B1E2). She most likely arrives in Coedwig at the same time Mirana arrives in Barrowhaven, if not a few days earlier. We can say that the sixteen (2+14) days it takes Davion, Mirana and Marci to leave Haupstadt would be the time it takes Fymryn and her pod to get about halfway to the Invoker's tower.
I'll assume, with the mountainous ranges seemingly surrounding the Broken Peaks, the full journey - on foot - would most likely take Fymryn and her pod well over a month to actually reach the Invoker's tower - we can also assume that the Invoker did not want to make it close to civilization or somewhere anyone would just accidentally stumble into. I'd wager that the last stretch of their journey was perhaps another twenty days to reach the tower itself.
The day Fymryn and her pod arrive at the tower is also the day the Invoker casts them out again, meaning that Luna killing Fymryn's pod would happen on that same night, after they've worshipped Mene. These last twenty days would coincide with Davion, Mirana and Marci travelling from Haupstadt to the cave just after Mirana has encountered the Dire creeps, meaning that when they make camp, it would coincide with the murder of Fymryn's pod.
So, we have thirty-one days to account for in Fymryn's flashback, which would give enough time for Mirana to have been exiled and wind up in Barrowhaven. After that, we have the sixteen days which take place over the first two episodes, and then the final twenty days leading up to the murder of Fymryn's pod and Mirana's encounter with the Dire stone. The actual time we perceive moving forward is twenty, however, the total time of this episode is sixty-seven days, spread between flashbacks and catching us up on where Fymryn was during the events of the first two episodes.
Estimated time (including flashbacks and other): 67 days
Estimated time (to be added to the current time): 20 days
Chapter 5: B1E4: The Monster at the End of This Book
Summary:
Fear summons a goddess; Davion looks to a brother for answers -- or a fight; Fymryn's rescuer faces a powerful luminary, ready to declare war.
Chapter Text
From what we can see, this takes place the day following Neverwhere Land (B1E3), after Fymryn has been rescued by the Invoker, and Davion, Mirana and Marci spent their night in the cave. They appear to arrive sometime during the day, with Kaden arriving not too long after them. They have enough time to eat dinner before Kaden knocks Davion out and confronts Slyrak. We can assume that about a day has passed by the time Slyrak flies off with Mirana, Sagan and Marci.
Not much actual time passes, as we are divided between three points of view occurring on the same day. Only one day passes.
Estimated time: 1 day
Chapter 6: B1E5: The Fire Sermon
Summary:
The gang copes with a bumpy landing while the Order goes to war; Slyrak rampages, and Davion must reckon with the powerful spirits of ancient dragons.
Chapter Text
The day after the Redoubt, when the Invoker has returned from his brief dalliance with Selemene, the Dark Moon Goddess has sent out her Dark Moon Order to cleanse the impurities from the enclaves, paranoia fuelled by the Invoker.
We see Slyrak crash, having brought Mirana, Marci and Sagan as close to their destination as he most likely could - with Davion probably subconsciously being in control, instead of Slyrak, and we can assume the flight was a few hours, having flown through the night and crashing in the morning.
Davion awakens in the Thunder, on Slyrak's summit, conversing with the Eldwurms while Slyrak rampages. The whole ordeal seems to take place over a few hours, less than a day itself. After Mirana manages to get through to Davion, they seem to arrive at the Invoker's tower towards the end of the day.
Again, not much time passes, as we are divided between different events happening. It appears only a day has passed.
Estimated time: 1 day
Chapter 7: B1E6: The Knight, Death and the Devil
Summary:
Fymryn and Luna appeal to their goddesses; the Invoker delivers tough truths to Davion and Mirana; a bargain is struck.
Chapter Text
Davion awakes the follow day, mid to late morning - or, at least, we can assume it's the next day, since he wasn't really injured and didn't need to go into a healing sleep. Luna goes into the Shadow Terrace, but time is difficult to tell with how dark it is. Mirana and Marci awaken in the late afternoon to early evening, and the Invoker reveals to them what Selemene is currently doing in the enclaves. We can safely assume a day has passed here.
Davion and Mirana share a moment in the evening, and we find out that Mirana is most likely 23 - she was 13 when she found Selemene, and served her for 10 years, thus she is at least 23 in book 1.
The following day, Davion, Mirana and Marci leave to return the lotuses to Selemene, with Fymryn sent to lead them back safely to Coedwig. It appears to be late afternoon when they leave, and night when Luna contacts Selemene once more.
The Invoker strikes a bargain once the others have left.
From what we can see, it appears that the events of this episode take place over the span of two days - one where they rest and recuperate, and the second where they discuss what they will be doing.
Estimated time: 2 days
Chapter 8: B1E7: Speak the Words
Summary:
A grieving man invokes a daughter's memory; Fymryn rushes into a dragon's nest, leaving Davion to risk it all.
Chapter Text
The Invoker takes Lirrak's soul and throughout the episode, we learn of Filomena and her fate. We'll be ignoring how far back the flashbacks go as, while they are important and relevant to the driving forces of the overarching plot, they are not important for the actual timeline of the series.
We can assume the total time to get back to Coedwig would be just over a month again - the same amount as Fymryn would have needed to get to the Broken Peaks. However, Mirana does mention that they are at least three days behind schedule, which implies that a minimum of three days have passed. Safe to say, if we had the original journey take Fymryn about thirty-five days, they may be eight days into their trek. At least another day passes, wherein they encounter air dragon territories.
Night passes, and they set up camp. Mirana confronts Fymryn, and the elf runs off. The next day, Fymryn has stolen the lotuses once more and attempts to flee. Davion saves her and reveals his impending fate with Mirana afterwards. It looks late in the afternoon by then. Fymryn returns and helps lead them to the enclave once more.
If we assume eight days have passed, then we can throw on at least two more days to account for the confrontation and the attempt to run off with the lotuses once more.
Estimated time: 10 days
Chapter 9: B1E8: A Game of Chess
Summary:
Old compatriots and enemies reemerge; Mirana and Fymryn try to right wrongs, but a goddess has other plans, and cruel oblivion beckons.
Chapter Text
Kaden is tracking Davion, only a few days behind him - three at most. Enough time that they arrive during the lunar eclipse, but not before it.
Luna speaks with Drysi, it seems a few days have passed from their conversation. We can assume that the remaining twenty-eight days of their journey have now ended as Davion and the others arrive in the forest leading to Coedwig. It takes them almost the full day to arrive in Coedwig. Lune agrees to let them stay the night, saying that they will accept the lotuses and withdraw from the enclaves the next night.
Another day passes, and the attack happens at night when the lunar eclipse takes place. Mirana and Marci flee with some of the Dark Moon Order - including Luna - meanwhile, Davion is captured by Kaden and Fymryn follows after him.
It's safe to say, the full month has passed since they started their journey from the Broken Peaks, with at least three days thrown on. Then another day is added as they spent the night in Coedwig. There was about twenty-eight days remaining (if we take that it normally would have been thirty-five, with three days behind making it thirty-eight, and about ten days passed in Speak the Words (B1E7)) - with another day added, that would make it about twenty-nine days total.
Estimated time: 29 days
