Ron Weasley grew up hearing many stories about Hogwarts, but nothing has ever stuck so much as the various complaints about the potions master and teacher, Severus Snape.
Or, Ron Weasley grows up believing Severus Snape is an annoying, ungrateful and evil wizard, but a very talented one nonetheless.
And Ron wants to be talented, he wants it oh so very much, and if he has to arm wrestle Severus Snape into taking him in as his apprentice to achieve that,,,,well, Grandma Weasley always said he could be quite bull headed when he wanted to.
First step, convincing the hat that his place is in Slytherin. No issue there, it was in his plan anyways. -
