Chapter Text

Izuku,

You might not get this letter until you land, but that doesn't really matter.

We'll all miss you so so much, baby bird. We already do. There are well wishes from everyone, even your Uncle Tenko's friends.

I've attached a gift to this letter. Its a little reminder that you're always going to be my family. You're a part of me, and I'll never truly let you go.

I love you kiddo. I hope you have fun.

With love,

Your Family.'

Izuku was excited, scared, elated, bothered, and so many more things as her plane decended. She was sitting right next to Hitoshi, and her dads were one row behind them.

America is such a strange place. There were Quirks flying around everywhere, tall buildings that look nothing like home, and so many pro-heroes that Izuku recognized, even just outside the airport, she was in awe.

She was carrying so many bags, trying to distract herself from being separated from Keigo for this long already. Sure she had been away from him during sleepovers or whatever, but now she's in a foreign country with a man she had despised not even six months ago. Hitoshi was right beside her the entire time, laughing lightly at Izuku meager distraction, and insistence on doing it herself.

They had tried, plenty of times, to grab the luggage, but Izuku had gently slapped his hand away, so he had lost interest.

He decided to just look around, admiring the views, and new sounds, checking on Izuku periodically to make sure she was okay.

He looked back every so often, to see Aizawa and Yamada engaging in light conversations about things that have changed about his city since they last visited. Hitoshi suddenly felt awkward, thinking about why he was here in the first place. They were the only one there without an express purpose. He was there to ensure Izuku was alright in this strange new world, and to 'train' to be a hero. Which really just meant "talk to people in English instead of Japanese, and call it a day".

He was essentially on his way to meet his girlfriend's grandparents (question mark).

Needless to say, he felt awkward, and kind of sweaty. Apparently Izuku noticed such odd behavior, and said, "Hey genius, stop freaking out. It's making me sad."

Hitoshi instantly put on a peppy face, and Izuku also brightened.

"Just you wait, Toshi! This summer will be awesome!" Izuku chirps, wings rustling with excitement.

"Thats the spirit Izuku! You'll get to meet my parents, and see some new heroes! Maybe we'll meet All Might." The teenagers heard Yamada cheer.

"Meh. Hawks is cooler." Hitoshi and Izuku said simultaneously.

Aizawa chuckled airly, and pointed them in the direction of the larger buildings. Hitoshi and Izuku were mesmerized by the big houses, especially in a city as large as Detroit.

They stopped in front of a house smaller than most, but still big to their standards. It was a mainly white house with darker accents. There were kids toys, and a swing set in the front, indicating the presence of kids.

Yamada lit up at the sight, and rushed up to the house. Izuku and Hitoshi were left ogling the house, and Aizawa just looked happy for his husband.

The blond ran up the stairs, past the dog house, and the little tricycles. He sprinted up the path, and rang the doorbell.

There was a loud clamoring on the other side of the door as the Yamadas scrambled to open the door first.

The one that actually got the door was a man that looked almost exactly like Mic, save for a few differences, and he smiled.

"Hey Yoru! Whats up?"

The man stayed silent, only staring at Mic with an intensity that only someone this close to him could have.

"Whats the matter? Quirk got your tongue?"

"The mute jokes just never get old for you, do they."

"Nope! Now let me in. I have family to see, heathen."

The man just smirked, and let them through.

There was still a mass of redheads, and blonds wrestling on the floor, until a woman with a huge smile on her face rang a bell. The kids immediately hopped to, and stopped their roughhousing.

Mic stepped forward, and introduced them. "Family, this is Family! You all know Shouta, next to him, with the wings is his kid Izuku, and the purple kid is Hitoshi, Izuku's boyfriend." He said, and signed at the same time.

He turned to his Japanese family. "Ok, in age order, this is my English family. My mum and dad, Delilah, She/Her, and Daiki, He/Him, they're deaf. My older sister's name is Itsuki, She/Her, and my twin brother's name is Yoru, He/They." The people named raised their hands, "and my baby sister Lillian, She/Xier, and the two youngest are your age, Maverick, He/Him and Eloise, She/It."

Izuku raised her hand, and waved. Hitoshi still looked nervous about the amount of people. "Like Yamada-"

"Oh, its Hizashi. Sorry for interrupting, but calling everyone Yamada is definitely going to get confusing."

"Oh. Like Hizashi said, I'm Izuku. My pronouns currently are She/Her, but thats subject to change. I'm genderfluid. A-and this is Hitoshi, his pronouns are He/They." Izuku hummed, loud enough to hear from the back of the room, accompanying her words, was USL. She had picked it up on the flight.

Hitoshi looked excited all of a sudden.

Aizawa waved to all of them, and Yoru smirked playfully at him. The teacher rolled his eyes, and Hizashi directed the kids around the house.

"Alright, I'll give you both the tour after yall drop your bags off. Yoru will probably be entertaining Shouta long enough to keep him from tagging along."

"Why would he do that?"

"I'm sure Yoru will be happy to tell that story." Hizashi laughed, "If you ask, its the story of how they met. But he just likes teasing Shouta."

Izuku nodded, and moved on. Hitoshi looked amused.

"Anyways, this will be Izuku's room, and the one next to it is Hitoshi's. Don't worry, both of these rooms have bunks, so if you want to share a room that's okay too."

Izuku looked around the spacious room, and made eye contact with Hitoshi. They would be sharing a room with her. It's just logical. "Hey, can Toshi and I go exploring? We've never been anywhere else."

"Well, Izuku, its probably not safe to go alone. If you aren't familiar with these streets, you could get lost very easily. You'd have to ask your dad."

'Right. Because his word is God.' He just wants to control me.' Izuku scoffed. Hizashi gave her a strange look, and Izuku briefly wondered if he read her mind.

"You know, he does only want the best for you. You're one of the most important things is the world to him. He really tries not to be controlling."

Izuku rolled her eyes, but nodded. 'Witch.'

Hitoshi nodded. "I get that. Hes a pretty strict teacher, but I bet he'd be a pretty great dad, if you let him."

"Yeah!" Hizashi smiled, "And Ccrime rates are a lot higher here in Detroit, since there's not a lot of local heroes, but its got a decent amount of attention for such an odd city! I'm sure your dad would let you go under certain conditions, but you can't go if we don't talk to him."

Izuku nodded, put down her bags, and walked back out of the well decorated room.

The three went back to the room, where Aizawa was getting prodded by Yoru. He looked deeply unamused, but Yoru was having the time of his life. The only thing that told Hizashi and his twin apart was hair length, and colour. Yoru had an inverted french braid that reached down to the nape of his neck, and it was dyed in several colours. While Hizashi had his long blond hair in a half up style.

Izuku was mesmerized by the mute man tormenting her dad, and how easily the two interacted.

"Hey, Dad?"

"Uhh, yeah? What do you need?"

"Can Hitoshi and I go exploring? I've wanted to come to Detroit for years."

"Wouldn't you rather hear the story of Shouta's first week in the Yamada Household in suburban Detroit?" Yoru signed, smirk curling with mischief.

"Nooo... again? You tell this story every year!" Aizawa pouted.

"That's what makes it so damn entertaining. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the tale."

Izuku and Hitoshi settled in one of the two couches, right next to a very gloomy Aizawa. "I would just like to state, for the record, I did not cause this. I was the victim! And there will be secondhand embarrassment.

"Hizashi, can you tell the story? I don't want to take a voice, and my hands could use a break."

"No problem, Yoru. Let the show go on..."
