The dark endless void enveloped everywhere.. It was definitely a sight, no matter where he looked he couldn’t see anything. Shen Yuan knew he wasn’t anywhere near healthy, he had expected to die for any reason. He just wished it wasn’t such a stupid way to go out,his life had always been boring. Always bed ridden, never being healthy enough to go anywhere. And the one day he got to go out, he died...
He was at his Da-ge’s wedding, walking around, sipping his water every now and then, and reading Proud Immortal Demon Way. He had just taken a bite of some food angrily as he read. And just as he finished reading, extremely infuriated by the ending, and started choking. He couldn’t breathe why.. Is he really going to die choking on a pastry? Apparently so.
He blinked, or well tried to, he didn’t really have a body. He wished the afterlife wouldn’t be this boring, this has to be some sort of joke. Heh, just like his life.. Not funny?

And just like that a blue screen popped up in front of him, it sounded like google translate. It almost sounded like it was trying to pity him. Very funny.. Actually WHAT THE HELL. Was this the afterlife?

Shen Yuan opened his eyes to see something bright. Unused to seeing any light he scrunched his eyes closed and used his hand to rub them, after have rubbed his eyes for too long opened them to see a woman with long black hair flowing down her shoulders and back, part of it tied up in a bun but still leaving a few strands left to the side letting those strands frame her face. She looked exhausted.
She had gems decorating a thin line of gold, the gold string held up her bun. "Hello my little Yuan." She smiled with closed eyes, the smile softened her sharp features. So his name was still Yuan but will his last name stay? "Is the young master awake? Young master Sha?" Shen Yuan.. Sha Yuan, turned to see a demon servant. The servants eyes lit up when they lock eyes, it takes a moment for Sha Yuan to realize he's sitting on what he believes to be his mother's lap.
Not only that but he seemed to be a toddler and not some small newborn baby. He looked back up at his mother who was smiling softly at him still exasperated, for what reason? He doesn't know. He's what seems to be a toddler , a demon toddler if his pointed ears are proof enough, and his mother looks exhausted so the least he can do is try to comfort her. He sits up on his knees and hugs her, he snuggles a little closer noticing that it's actually comfortable.
He looks back at the servant who's dressed in simple burgundy red robes, he doesn't know what he can do or if he can speak yet so he instead just smiles and waves at the servant. The servant smiles back at the gesture, "A'Yuan, this is servant Mo XianYu. He will be taking care of you while I help your father with his demon lord duties." She seems like she's just trying to assure herself of something, he has a feeling he shouldn't be able to speak yet but, "Okey Mama." Mo XianYu and his mother both stare at him in shock.
Glad to know he can speak, he's just not good at it. The atmosphere has become uncomfortably thick and rigid,his mother frozen in place, the servant tense while holding him, and a tiny Sha Yuan having no idea what he even did. He tilts his head to make it seem as if he has no idea what he just said. At this action his mother smiles and her eyes become glassy, wait.. is she going to cry?! Wait no nonononono please don't cry! His eyes widen when his mother picks him up and heads towards the door. "Change of plans, we must celebrate!" She seemed happy, was he not supposed to be able to speak? Well shit... Can't take it back now.
They arrive at a fancy looking room, a long table with some throne looking chair next to it. The fancy chair is pushed back by a man who seems to be a ruler or aristocrat of sorts. Could that be his father? If so, why's his father yelling at some poor demon? The room is decorated with different beast heads, it looks so cool! He couldn't help but gasp at the cool looking room, an entire shelf filled with scrolls and another filled with books. The aristocratic demon and what seems to be a scholar demon of sorts turn their heads to where the gasp came from, their eyes landing on Sha Yuan and his mother.
"Honey! What are you doing here with him?" The aristocratic looking man, who's apparently his father, asked in an extremely worried tone looking down sadly at Sha Yuan. The longer he stared at his, now confirmed, father the more he came to a realization. He was unfairly pretty. Would he look like that? He looked at his mother who seemed to have brightened up considerably, she also looked extremely beautiful. Reminded him of Sha Hualing, one of the main three wives of Lou Binghe's harem. Wait. His name is Sha… Is he related to her?! He forgot he was put in 'Proud Immortal Demons Way' for a minute.
He looks back at his father and made grabby hands so he could get a better look at the extravagant headpiece and earrings his father wears. After he does get a closer look he couldn't help but say," pretty". His father looked just as shocked as his mother and servant did when he spoke. "My sir, I.. I. I thought he couldn't. But What. How?" The scholar looked lost and spoke quietly, Sha Yuan almost forgot he was here.
Guess he was right about the fact he wasn't supposed to be able to speak. If Sha Yuan remembers correctly, Airplane actually had a moment for Sha Hualing. She talked about a cousin or friend dying at the age of two or something, only for her and Lou Binghe to move on like ten seconds after the brief explanation just to papapa their way out of the past. Great way to move on.. He doesn't think he'd ever understand Airplanes way of thinking.
Maybe he was part of that special? Maybe he got put in the body after he was supposed to die.. Will he end up being an older cousin? Hm..
They made it back to the room from before, this time accompanied by his father. He hopes he can get along with his new family so there won't be many issues, but it's a demon family so who knows how things will turn out. During the walk back while being held in his mother's arms, when was he last held, he had time to think about and process everything. First off, he's the son of a demon lord now; second off, he'll never get to see his old family; and lastly, he's the heir to the Sha clan with no siblings meaning Sha Hualing might end up being his little sister.
Sha Hualing was always one of his favorites because she reminded him of his meimei, Mingyan would always be his favorite because of how level headed she was. She didn't immediately fall for the protagonist, but fell in love over time. That's why he liked her character so much, she was definitely a fan favorite. Mingyan and Ning YingYing were the only two who didn't just immediately fall in love, and thus respected them the most.
His thinking was cut short as he was handed over to Mo XianYu, the servant had his hair in a simple bun and seemed to have the kindest eyes. He looked maybe fifteen at least, standards for working ages are different in this world apparently and if you take in the fact slaves exist.. He doesn't want to think that Mo XianYu is just some slave and maybe there's a different reason he works here, he has no idea where in the timeline he is so he'll just live life as simply as he can.
Now that he's in a cultivation world there's a few things he wants to know if he can do them or not. Might as well try to figure it out while he's still you right? Ha.. young, he says that as if he didn't die in his early twenties. He's in a child's body now so he might as well live life as one! Freedom!!
