"I loved you Hecate," I sighed.
"I still love you" I said in a softer voice.
The world felt as if it froze before Hecate responded.
"I love you too Pippa"
Hecate moved forward until she was in front of me. She knows, I thought to myself as her arms slowly began to lift. Anxious and excited, I began to lean forward. My eyes fluttered shut as I anticipated a kiss. I felt her stiff arms ease around me, pulling me into a hug.
"I missed you pipsqueak" she said.
"And I, you hiccup" I whispered in a shaky voice.
Hecate began to pull back. She gazed into my face, her eyes slowly drifting downward. My heart began thumping harder. This time Hecate leaned forward. I was certain we wanted the same thing. The space between us decreased achingly slow, but it wouldn't do to scare Hecate. Our lips very nearly touched when the sound of a door being slammed open shook me awake.
