“Oh my god I feel like I’m gonna shiver out of existence,” Jooyeon muttered through clenched teeth. Dry brown leaves were crushed beneath his feet as he made a game out of it. Making sure to not miss a single one.
“Hey just be glad I actually bought you that drink,” Seungmin punched his arm, slightly throwing him off course of the leaves on the ground. “And be glad that I forced you to get the hot one, or else I think you’d really be done for.”
“I just wish I had brought my jacket or worn a heavier shirt or SOMETHING,” Jooyeon threw his head back in protest, a low groan leaving his throat. He took a sip of his steaming apple cider, letting out a content hum, a complete contrast to how he was acting just seconds earlier. “I’m blaming you for my lack of jacket.”
“ME?” Seungmin whipped his head around to face Jooyeon, dumbfounded. “I literally left the dorm way before you this morning, idiot.”
“And I do not care.”
Seungmin let out an exasperated sigh, “I swear you’re going to be the death of me.” He rolled his eyes. “If you need to be taken care of that much then I guess I have no choice.”
Jooyeon furrowed his brows in confusion. A certain air of uncertainty and hesitation lingered in his voice as he began to reply, “What do you mea-” Within the blink of an eye Seungmin had interlaced their fingers, now slightly pulling Jooyeon closer as he slipped their hands into the pocket of his fluffy fleece jacket.
“Don’t say anything, let’s just get home already,” Seungmin avoided eye contact, not wanting to let any embarrassment set in.
Unexpected tears began to crowd the corners of Jooyeon’s eyes, not sad though. Happy. Just really, really happy. And the warm blush now spread across his face definitely made the chill wind more tolerable.
A comfortable silence hung between the two as they made their way home, accompanied by short glances and soft smiles. <3
