Kagiura and his team are having a BBQ in a park with the significant others and the pets. Everything is going good and they decide to have a friendly match but when they go closer to the court they see an orphanage having a picnic day.
Some of the kids are fans, so they hang out for a while until they decide to go for the match with some of the kids. The kids are really happy and try their best (of course, the grown-ups go easy on them), and have a great time.
When is time to go Kagi asks Hirano if he wants to do a 1v1 and ofc he wants, they go for it but some of the kids are still there a little pair of siblings with blue eyes that didn't play with them before?
Hirano and Kagiura approached, and the kids started feeling shy, they admitted that the match was very cool and they wanted to try and play too, but they don't know basketball.
One of the kids got really into it when Kagiura started teaching him the basics, the smaller kid saw their dog and grabbed Hirano asking to please introduce them. And of course, Hirano accepted.
Kagiura played with the boy all afternoon, and Hirano talked with the little girl about all the cool places he visited while she was petting their dog that was chilling in her lap although it was twice her size.
Kagiura got attached fast, the kid was really hard-working and his blue eyes and light hair reminded him of his husband.
Hirano found the girl similar to Kagi, listening to everything he said with stars in her eyes and asking SO MANY questions that some of them didn't even make sense like if he saw Santa while flying on Christmas.
The caretaker was in proximity to them all the time, and when they had to leave they told the pair the name of the orphanage.
When they came back they started talking about how nice sounded the idea of having a family but their lives were so busy... Until Kagiura says: "Maybe I should retire"
Hirano turns to see him, not completely surprised, Kagiura last games had to be on the bench over different pains. His coach told him that the average of retiring was 30 and he already could if he wanted, but Kagiura refused the idea of stopping playing.
Hirano told him that if that's what he wanted, he could. Holding his husband close who wasn't totally sure of the idea...
they didn't talk more about it.
A week after they decided to go to the same park again, to see if the kids were there.
They were, and the pair of siblings went in for a hug. The boy jumped Kagiura and hugged him strongly, automatically rambling about how he played with other kids and made a 3-point shot!
The girl hugged Hirano's leg, "WHERE'S THE DOGGO!?" she went tho, Hirano pointed at their dog and the little girl grabbed his hand and pulled Hirano to play with the dog with her.
The boy let go of Kagiura and went to play another match with other kids so Kagi went with Hirano and the little girl.
Hirano was on the floor, so tired because the girl was so energetic. So it was Kagiura's time to hang out with her.
She wasn't so sure about Kagiura until the dog jumped him and he caught it like it was nothing.
Then he showed her that he knew how to make tricks, but he only obeyed Kagiura so he taught her how to make the dog listen to her, giving her treats to give their dog.
Happy and more comfortable she asked him what Hirano and Kagiura were. "Taiga is my husband!" and started telling her their story.
"Hirano-san is so slow!"
"I know!"
Hirano was listening and was about to interrupt until another girl came, a teen asking for the girl.
"Oh! you must be Hirano-san, have you seen Anaya? is time for her medicine"
"yeah, she is there with my dog and my husband"
"... husband?"
"Oh... yeah?"
"You are with another boy?"
"yeah, there's nothing wrong with it"
"... people don't say rude things?"
The girl was nervous but intrigued so Hirano decide to share the time some girls were complaining about Kagi being gay, but he just answered that even if he was straight, he wouldn't date them. That was the only bad story they had and ended up being kinda funny since the girls were so pissed after.
The girl smiled and went to get Anaya, since the little girl shouted: "BIG-SIS NOO" he supposed they had another sibling.
After the teen gave Anaya her pill Hirano invited her to sit with him. She introduced herself and her siblings.
she was the oldest, her name is Ao
then there was Kira, the boy that likes basketball. Hirano laughs at the coincidence
and there was Anaya.
she shared that their parents had an accident and no other relatives wanted to take care of the 3 kids, complaining about the money and that Anaya having poor health was going to cost even more money.
It made him sad to know that she remembers what her relatives said... He decided to change the topic, he tried planes but she said she is more of a car fanatic than planes, they actually started debating over which one was better.
Kira came back and hugged Kagiura again, he made another 3 points!
"thank you so much! you are a great teacher mister!"
"Thank you. I will remember that!"
The orphanage had to leave again and so had the pair, Anaya hugged the dog, then Hirano, then Kagiura even if it was easier doing it in another other. It was clear she had favorites already
Even if Kira hadn't talked with Hirano yet he also hugged him goodbye.
Ao said goodbye with a handshake and thanked them for their time.

they came back to the park the next week and the kids were there.

and next week.

.
.
the next week it was raining but they still went, but this time the kids weren't
"Anaya has poor health. Of course they wouldn't come" said Hirano
"Hope she is doing good..." said Kagiura "Is the orphanage too far away? maybe we can pay them a visit, maybe they need donations!"
They looked at each other, this was stupid. They keep talking about those kids when they are home, Kagiura already retired saying he would like to be a gym teacher, and he said it calmly remembering Kira's words.
"Maybe we should go and ask about the adoption process" suggested Hirano, not doubting that Kagiura understand what he is saying.
"We should also ask if they want to come with us." Kagira remarked "We should make a presentation! we can take care of Anaya's medical expenses, for their education, we have the money to have a family even if I'm not a professional anymore!"
A family...
"Yes! let's do this"
They kept talking about what things they will need to prepare, a new apartment preferably a house, with a park nearby, and a hospital too since Anaya's health is very important. Ao looks like a nerd so maybe a library too. Would they want a place close to the orphanage?
When they arrived at the orphanage the caretaker ask them why they come and Kagiura got nervous and just screamed: "We are here for the kids!" Hirano punched him, telling him how it sounded like they were planning to steal them. Thankfully the caretaker just smiled and let them in.
The siblings were very happy to see the pair and went in for a hug, Ao included she didn't look like he was having her best day and for conversation, they had before they could guess it was some problems with some classmates.
Hirano went with the caretaker while the kids took Kagiura to the room where all the games were in. Anaya and Kira automatically got distracted and went to do something else so he was alone with Ao now.
"So... you finally decided to adopt them?"
Kagiura wanted to hide, were they so obvious? he was as bad as Hirano in high school. "Are we so obvious?... wait, "them"?"
"Is not an easy decision so I can understand it took a long time. And yes, aren't you planning to adopt Anaya and Kira?"
"And you too."
Ao's eyes opened in surprise and immediately turned her head around "Aren't three kids too many? that's a lot of money" it was obvious she was holding back tears, Kagiura smiled a little hoping they weren't bad tears.
"Nah, we are loaded. And my husband manages money super well"
he heard Ao laugh a little "Hope you spoil us, then"
"I was planning to, I can only buy so much stuff for our dog" this time the laugh was louder turning around to see him, she was smiling and tearing up.
"Please, don't tell me you have a tablet for your dog"
"She was like a cat when she was a puppy! watching those mouse videos. She is obsessed! but now she is big and ended up scratching OUR tablet. So we kinda had to"
Ao laughed while cleaning her tears, they both stayed in silence watching the kids play.
Hirano came back "I guess the tears are happy tears, you told her didn't you?" said with a smile, wrapping his arms around Kagiura.
"I couldn't help it, how did it go?"
"Just need our marriage and birth certificates. I already showed her that we are not poor or in debt"
"Good. so we can take them?"
"Tomorrow. first, we need to empty your room and get some beds"
Kira jumped in "I can sleep on the sofa with Anaya!"
Kagiura laughed "How did you know?"
"Even Kira guessed you guys wanted to take us, that or you guys were getting our hopes up"
Hirano dropped his head "ugh... what is wrong with me? is the second time I do this..."
"Third. I was hoping you would ask me to marry you the day you gifted me these earrings"
Hirano let out a sigh until Anaya surprised him by grabbing his hand. She wasn't aware of the conversation, so they have to ask her first "Uhm... Anaya, would you and your sibling like us as your parents?"
Hirano's head was racing. Was that too forward? cold?. Thankfully Anaya beamed with happiness "Yes! I would love that!" she raised her hands hoping to get picked up, and of course, Hirano wouldn't say no.
They planned everything with the kids' help this time. They wanted a park and a Library. Anaya wanted a big house and to sleep with Kira but he refused, he wants his own room. Ao said she had no problem sleeping with Anaya, either way, they are getting a 4-room house in case they want to change their mind.
By the next day the kids lived with them even if they didn't have the house or papers completed yet, Kagiura and Hirano spent all morning buying and setting up 3 beds in their room, which use to be a studio but there are more important things living there now.
By the next month, they got the perfect house, and Kagiura got a gym teacher job. The kids asked him how if he didn't have a diploma, but he had! He wanted to go to the same university as Hirano and that was the only sport-related career there, Hirano didn't know this information.
They lived happily together.
