Scars

Summary:

“Will you help me?”

Enid raised an eyebrow at the strange request, but nodded. She didn’t even care what the request was, but she would do it no matter what, as it was Wednesday asking.

Chapter Text

Cmon, just a little higher… Wednesday thought as she tried to grab the box of paper off a shelf.

A jolt of pain shot through her shoulder, causing her to wince and recoil.

Enid, with her werewolf affected hearing, obviously heard the wince.

“Wednesday? What’s wrong?”

“Nothing,” she responded sharply through gritted teeth.

Her right hand had made its way to the wound, applying soft pressure.

She felt the fabric dampen.

Pulling her hand away, there was red covering her fingertips.

She groaned, turning to Enid.

“Will you help me?”

Enid raised an eyebrow at the strange request, but nodded. She didn’t even care what the request was, but she would do it no matter what, as it was Wednesday asking.

“Thank you.”

The raven walked over to the bathroom, returning a moment later with a first aid kit in her hands.

“Wha-what do you want me to… do?” Enid asked, stuttering. She was extremely concerned now.

“Remember how I took that arrow for Xavier?”

“No??”

“Hmm. Well, I did. Anyways, it never fully healed-“

“I wonder why.” Enid knew why, of course. Wednesday had very little sense of self preservation, so it was obvious that she wouldn’t have changed out the bandages.

“Shh. But because of that, if it gets moved too much, the scar will break open and it will become an open wound again.”

The werewolf nodded, accepting the kit.

She looked away as the Addams daughter slipped off her jacket and shirt, revealing a black sports bra, and a bleeding wound.

She stifled a gasp. It was worse than Wednesday had let on. Very clearly infected, inflamed, and open.

“Wednesday…”

She didn’t make a sound, sitting on Enid’s bed in front of her, looking out to the side to avoid eye contact.

“Please, just… get it over with.”

She nodded, taking out antiseptic and dabbing the wound clean.

“Wendy, you have to start taking care of yourself better. This can’t happen again. It’s not good for you. Your body going through this much… Imagine how much worse this could have been, especially if it was a deeper wound. Wednesday, you could have died that day…” her vision went blurry as her eyes filled with tears as she continued cleaning the girl’s shoulder.

Despite herself, the dark eyed girl leaned forward, resting her forehead against the colorful girl’s shoulder.

“Wens… I need to finish this.”

Grumbling, she sat back up, allowing Enid to place down gauze with antibacterial plus pain reliever on the wound.

She worked efficiently and quickly, wrapping bandage around to hold everything and give Wednesday a bit of support.

She leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to Wednesday’s shoulder, before leaning back and meeting her eyes.

“Promise me…” she swallowed, holding back tears. “Promise me you’ll be more careful.”

Wednesday looked at her intensely, before muttering a soft “I promise.”

“Thank you. That means a lot. And always remember I will help you.”

Enid reached up to where she knew the scar from that shovel hit was, pushing back the dark hair and pressing another soft kiss to her temple.

Wednesday leaned into the touch, gazing into bright blue eyes.

“You are so lucky I love you.”

The moment she realized what she said, it was too late.

Enid smiled at her. “I love you too.”

Relief flooded over the Addams, her whole body relaxing.

Her hands made their way to cup Enid’s jaw, before pressing their lips together.

It was blissful, sweet, but also passionate and hungry.

Both girls melted into one another, but eventually the need to breathe overcame them both, pulling apart and resting their foreheads together, soft smiles adorning them both.

Wednesday pulled away, gently pressing Enid’s shoulders down, leading her to the mattress.

She laid down next to the werewolf, nuzzling into her shoulder.

“Going soft on me, Addams?”

“In your dreams, Sinclair.”

And it was.

They both fell asleep, tangled in each other and peaceful, happy be in the other’s presence, dreaming about the future. Their future.

Chapter Text

Breathe, Wednesday…

She tried to take her own advice, taking a shaky breath.

She cast a quick glance at the audience surrounding them.

It was a small ceremony, only close friends and family.

She shifted her weight at the alter, awaiting her partner to make their appearance.

Right as she thought of the last time they had seen each other, the ceremony officially started.

She looked down the aisle…

And wow.

Enid stood next to her father in a gorgeous white dress with a form fitting corset top and a fluffy, full skirt, holding a bouquet of asters, amaryllis, white and pink carnations, and white and red chrysanthemums.

Her chest-length hair was curled, irises weaved throughout, her recently pink-and-blue ends had been colored purple to match the flowers.

She walked down the aisle, her father giving her away once she made it to the arch.

Settling under the arch, weaved with red, white, and pink roses, she met Wednesday’s eyes.

“You look… gorgeous,” she told the werewolf, a soft smile pulling at both their lips.

“You are all gathered here today to witness the union of Enid Sinclair and Wednesday Addams,” the officiant spoke. They had agreed on Uncle Fester marrying them.

“These two lovely women have written their own vows. Wednesday, why don’t you go first?”

She took a deep breath. “Enid, from the first day I met you, I thought you were annoying and way too colorful.”

Enid giggled slightly at the bluntness of her soon-to-be-wife.

”But, I learned to love it. I learned to love you. And that moment, five years ago, that I allowed you to hug me, was the best moment of my life. And when you patched up my shoulder, lecturing me about self preservation, and the accidental confession, and falling asleep in each others arms? Well, that was the best night of my life. I love you more than anyone or anything else. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life beside you.”

Enid sniffed, a huge smile on her face. “The first day I met you, Wendy, I knew you were special. That you were a force to be reckoned with. Ever since the Poe Cup, I knew I had found my mate. At that time, I thought you hated me. But then we hugged, and I didn’t get a knife lodged in my back. That’s when I knew you loved me too. I’d only ever seen you allow Pugsley to hug you, and even then you only allowed five seconds, so I knew you felt different towards me. And when you told me of your shoulder, I was scared. Scared that something would happen to you. That you would manage to get yourself killed. When you proposed, I knew that you wouldn’t die. An Addams promise means more than anything else. I love you. Waking up next to you and going to sleep in your arms is the best way I can imagine spending the rest of my life.”

Uncle Fester sniffed back tears. “Do you, Wednesday Addams, take Enid Sinclair to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

”I do.”

”And do you, Enid Sinclair, take Wednesday Addams to be your lawfully wedded wife?”

”I do.”

”You may now kiss the bride.”

Wednesday took Enid’s hips, the werewolf’s hands weaving into long, loose, dark hair.

They pressed their lips together as their family and friends burst into applause, cheering.

Pulling apart and smiling, they took each other’s hands and walked down the aisle.

At the end, Wednesday took the red salvia from her jacket pocket, placing it behind Enid’s ear, and kissing her once more.

Notes:

Flower Meanings:
- Amaryllis = pride
- Aster = Love, Daintiness
- White Carnation = innocence, pure love, sweet love
- Pink Carnation = I’ll never forget you
- Red Chrysanthemum = I love you
- White Chrysanthemum = Truth
- Iris = Faith, trust, wisdom, hope, valor
- Red Rose = Love, I love you
- Pink Rose = Happiness
- White Rose = Innocence, heavenly, I’m worthy of you
- Red Salvia = Forever mine

I feel like the Addams would have a huge thing about flower meanings, and Enid would find it adorable and they all talked about flowers and those are what they settled on.
