Summary:

Just a short thing story where Brett helps Reagen get back to cognitive Inc after she's been suffering alone at home working for the robes. Nothing more, nothing less

Notes:

This is accidental Breagen, I didn't even realise until the end how this could all be taken as incredibly romantic, oh well

Chapter Text

Reagen sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, the dark bags under her eyes were more prominent as of late, probably due to the countless nights she had spent awake, working on her new program for the robes.
After her meeting with them, Reagen was determined to prove that at least one Ridley wasn't a screw-up, even if it meant sacrificing her sleep, diet and most importantly, her boyfriend. Now she was sitting with 8 cans of redbull and even more disposable coffee cups scattered around her, covering every surface.

Stopping when she saw the sun rise again for the fourth time, Reagen stood up and and stretched, hearing loud pops from her back.
'That doesn't sound good'
The young woman swung round with her firsts raised, terror in her heart at the unexpected arrival.
'FUCKUNG HELL BRETT' She yelled 'DONT FUCKING DO THAT TO ME'
The ginger smiled and said 'I brought you a coffee but looking at the state if this room' his eyes quickly scanned over the trash littering the ground 'and of you' they looked over Regaens sleep deprived form 'I'd say you don't need it'

Smiling and rolling her eyes Reagen grabbed the coffee out of her co workers hands, saying 'I appreciate the gesture Brett'
'That's good'
The couple walked out of the messy room and slumped down onto the obscene orange sofa in the houses living room.
'You need to come back to the office' Brett began 'We miss you'
If Reagen had been drinking coffee at that moment, she would have spat it out, instead she opted for another eye roll and 'When you say we, I know you mean I  Brett but thanks man'
'Well whether I mean we or I you can't deny the fact you need to come back to the office. The CEO not being in for a week has started started you know take a toll on overall moral'
'What's happened to it?'
'Its been the highest its been in years, we can't be having that Reagen' the male joked as he poked his friend in the arm
'We most certainly can not' she replied smiling slightly 'Its just too much hassle to move all my work from my house back into cognitive Inc, I can more work here done now that my Dad's in shadow prison and I don't have JR breathing breathing my neck. D' ya know what I mean?'
Brett sunk further into the chair, accidently spilling coffee over his suit in doing so, 'I miss you, like seriously miss you. My days are better when your at the office'
Reagen felt like spitting her coffee out for the second time that morning. 'YOUR DAYS ARE BETTER??' She asked incredulously
'Yeah, I do. I do miss you' He replied 'I miss you a lot. Its weird not having your constant pessimism and general air of disinterest around me 24/7. Also, we have a new mission and I'm hopeless. Please Reagen, for the love of our God, help.'
She almost let herself laugh before Reagen caught it in her throat 'I was waiting for you to ask'
'YOU KNEW??!'
'Of course I knew Brett' Reagen said, standing up, 'As you pointed out, I'm literally the CEO, I was the one who told you to to that mission, I'd assume you'd need my help but Jesus Brett, I only told you half half hour ago'

The man grinned as Reagen pulled a thick black coat over her shirt and green jeans, wrapping it round her as a barrier to defend against the cold January air. The pair walked out of the small house but even if Reagens body was protected from the chill air, her head wasn't. The cold air blasting against her face only made her hangover and caffeine induced headache worse. She stumbled a little and found that Brett caught her and put his arms around his shoulders to steady her as they walked together to the company.
After they walked into the room, Reagen rubbed her head and tied her hair back into a low ponytail.
'Right team let's get to work'
A group groan followed that announcement just as Brett followed Reagen into the room, 'Im sorry guys, I'm kinda helpless when it comes to leadership and anything that isn't being nice' he laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck,
'Group Groans are banned' Reagen interrupted, setting her computer onto the table 'Can you fill me in on what you've done when I've been gone?'
