Happy Ending

Summary:

Starkiller's gone, as is the Finaliser. But now Supreme Leader Ren is back from the last fight, it's certainly not at all as bad as it initially seemed.

Notes:

These stories are about what happens between the boys during the calm moments between all the big heavy plots of the films... Except this one it seems as it relates to the very last of the films and makes it go a different direction to the actual story. Not that my other stories are close to canon compliant mind you - rather hard to tag these things, haha!

This is the last one in my series and curiously the first I wrote. Sort of worked backward with these. :)

Done as one-shots as they are all stand-alone tales.

Work Text:

Supreme Leader Kylo Ren had returned to the Steadfast and made his way instantly to the bridge knowing full well that despite this not being his ship, General Hux would still be there working away. It had been two weeks since he left Hux with General Alligent Pryde, and he wanted to see how things were getting on in his absence.

As the doors to the bridge opened, it was Pryde who welcomed him. Hux was no where to be seen.

“Where is General Hux? I wish to speak to him urgently.” Ren said, through his mask.

“Of course Supreme Leader, he is currently in the connecting room sorting through numerous reports.” Pryde answered diligently.  Ren took his helmet off which hissed as the hydraulics whirred in action. Slammin the helmet down on the closest console earning a jump from the officer working there, he took a few steps closer to room Hux was in.

“Hux! Get out here!” he called, voice bellowing.

“Supreme Leader, welcome back. Just a second, I’m almost done with this report.” Hux could be heard calling back. Ren scowled, and upon witnessing this Pryde smirked a little.

“Out here now or I’ll make you sorry!” Ren shouted.

“I’ll literally be a few seconds!” Hux returned, annoyance colouring his tone. “Still so impatient..” he could be heard muttering. Not one to miss an opportunity, Pryde decided to step in and made his way to the doorway separating the two. To call for Hux through the door rather than go in to see him so the entire bridge heard their conversation would be infinitely more humiliating to Hux, he reasoned with glee. Anything to bring the man down further after the loss of his ship.

“Do not disobey the Supreme Leaders direct orders – you’ll be punished for your insolence accordingly.shPryde declared with an air of satisfaction. Hux’s sigh could be heard in response causing Pryde to scowl, but before he could retort, Ren cut in.

“I’ll be the one to do the punishing. You have to the count of five to show yourself, General. “ Ren snarled. At this Pryde began to smirk again, shooting Hux a smug look through the doorway.

Mitaka, who had been on shift and witness to the whole thing spoke low to the Alligent General as Ren began counting.

One.

“Sir, I must advise that you are misunderstanding what’s happening here.” Mitaka was rewarded with a glare.

“On the contrary, it’s quite clear what’s happening here...” Pryde shot back.

Two.

“...General Hux, in his infinite wisdom, has taken a leave of his senses. His disrespect will earn him humiliation on the bridge, I have no doubt...” Pryde continued confidently.

“Three.

“...I wouldn’t be all too surprised if I were you, if you see your precious Hux choked or slammed against a wall for the level of disrespect he’s showing.” Pryde concluded.

Mitaka just sighed in response. He tried, but if the General Allegiant want going to listen then he’d just have to remain a spectator.

Fou..” Ren was cut off.

“I’m here, I’m here. Blimey Ren, you’ve been gone two weeks, I’m sure you can wait a minute or two longer.” Hux chided, finally emerging from the room he had been working in.

“I am Supreme Leader and if I tell you to come, you come. I will get what I want now.“ Ren growled low and guttural, grabbing Hux and pushing him against the closest wall. Pryde, who stood back a little to provide space, was now grinning at the scene before him, waiting in anticipation at what his Supreme Leader would choose to do.

“See?” Pryde turned to Mitaka, proud to be proven right. “He’ll get what he deserves now.” Mitaka lifted an eyebrow amused to watch Pryde’s expression change from one of slimy smugness, to one of pure shock as Ren, still holding Hux against the wall, brought his lips crashing down on the ginger General, who instead of retaliating, actively jumped into Ren’s arms so he was being held aloft by the Supreme Leader, and kissed fervently back.

“As I said sir, you misunderstand. Our Supreme Leader just missed being near his husband.” Mitaka said, very matter of fact.

“H-husband?” Pryde repeated unbelieving. Hux came back up for air and looked to Pryde from his vantage point in Ren’s arms.

“Yes, husband. Soon after Snoke died we had a private and simple ceremony, officiated by Captain Phasma and witnessed by a few of my most trusted men – Mitaka being one.” Pryde gaped like a fish out of water lost for words, eyes darting between Hux and Ren, who had taken to providing Hux with bite marks on his neck whilst Hux spoke.

“Yes Enric,” Ren said, now turning to face Pryde himself. “and if you recall I did say that Alligent General was but a temporary assignment whilst things were straightened out. I was successful in my mission, and now I can be sure Armitage is safe as can be, I see no reason to keep it marriage a secret any longer. Furthermore, you are to be returned to the ranking of General, and you“ Ren’s attention turned back to his lover, “are to be promoted to Grand Marsh Hux. The Steadfast, which will be our temporary flagship whilst you design us a better, more fitting one, is to be commanded by you alone. Effective immediately.“ There was a quick pause whilst Ren punctuated his point with another kiss to Hux’s lips. “I trust this is not a problem, General Pryde?”

“No, no, of course not.” Pryde was quick to say, disbelief still clouding his eyes.

“Now Ren, if you’ll excuse me, I have a ship and army to command as per your requirements. My shift ends in three hours, I will catch up with you properly then.” Hux said, making a move to get down. Ren tightened his grip preventing the newly appointed Grand Marshal from going anywhere.

“No way, I’ve been apart from you for two weeks. A kiss is not enough to satisfy me and I will not wait any longer.” Ren said making his way, still carrying Hux, to the bridge door. He put a finger to Hux’s lips as Hux made to object. “I’m Supreme Leader and my orders are to be obeyed immediately, remember?” He said playfully. “Besides...“ Ren started grinning.  “I still need to punish you for prioritising finishing that report over seeing me.  Pryde  - you have the bridge until shift end. I trust you can handle that.” With that said, Ren took Hux and they left the bridge.

Mitaka allowed himself a smile as he and the rest of the officers got back to work. He loved a happy ending.
