Summary:

Some demigods, a stayr, a mortal, and Chiron are sent to the past to read through the Percy Jackson books.

This is my first time writing Percy Jackson so the characters are slightly OOC (maybe a lot OOC) but I still hope you like it.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Introductions

Chapter Text

The winter solstice council was in full swing. Zeus and Poseidon were arguing about… something. Hestia didn’t care to listen. Surprisingly, Ares and Hephaestus were not at each other's throats, watching as Aphrodite and Athena argued. Demeter, unsurprisingly, was yelling at Hades and fussing over Persphone, who Hades decided to bring with him to this council. Dionysus was watching with half-lidded eyes, looking bored out of his mind. Hermes and Apollo were, surprisingly, just having a quiet conversation, well as quiet as they can be with all the noise. Hera, as well as Artemis, was watching the chaos unfold with annoyance. The only difference was Artemis would occasionally chime into her twin's conversation.

Hestia sighed, stroking the hearth with careful gentle hands. It was never quiet on the winter solstice, which was quite bothersome. It was like the gods and goddesses only knew one level; loud. It was slowly starting to get on Hestia’s last nerve.

The final straw was when Zeus and Poseidon both stood, glaring daggers at each other.

“Enough!” She roared. The room fell silent. All eyes were on her, shocked and surprised.

She glared at each person in the room. When her eyes fell on the twin god and goddess and Hermes, she just smiled. They didn’t deserve her wrath. She turned her heated gaze to the others. “Zeus, Poseidon. I don’t care what you are arguing about, but I need you to shut up. Aphrodite and Athena, the same goes for you two. Demeter, get over the cereal thing and stop bothering my brother and his wife. Ares and Hephaestus, you two were quiet for once so I’ll let it slide. But next time, please at least try to calm Athena and Aphrodite down. Dionysus, I need you to actually be awake hun.”

Hestia took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I want no noise. Not a pep or so help me. To your thrones. All of you. You are acting like children.” She watched everyone scramble to their seats, no sound leaving their lips.

She looked over at Hermes, Apollo, and Artemis with a smile. “You three are okay, you can continue your conversation, but quietly please.” The three nodded, instantly going back to whispering to each other.

Hestia turned back to the hearth, listening to their quiet chatter. She stroked the hearth again. The quiet was very unusual, but not unwelcome.

However, much to her dismay, the quiet only lasted about a minute or so before a portal opened up in the center of the throne room, a bunch of kids falling out.

“Ouch! Percy!” A girl with black hair and electric blue eyes called out. She shoved off a boy with black hair and sea-green eyes.

“It’s not my fault! I didn’t choose to land on you.” The boy huffed, standing up and dusting off his pants. He looked up and it seemed like he was only now realizing they were standing in the throne room of Olympus. “...Hello?”

The group, who now Hestia could identify as some demigods, one of which was clearly a Hunter of Artemis, a satyr, a mortal, and Chiron, all turned to look at them, expressions ranging from shocked to confused.

“Uh, what’s going on?” A red-haired girl mumbled to the satyr, who shrugged helplessly.

The green-eyed boy smirked, “Hey guys!” He waited for a bit, a frown slowly making its way to his face. He turned to a blond girl with storm-grey eyes, “I think the world is ending.”

That shocked a laugh out of Hermes and Apollo, the two snickering while Artemis rolled her eyes, tilting her head at the demigods. “What are you talking about?”

“You’re not yelling at each other!” The boy actually started to look panicked. “You are almost always fighting about something!” The blond girl rolled her eyes at his dramatics.

Hestia took pity on the boy, laughing slightly. “You aren’t going to die, little one. They just took my little… speech seriously.” Her amused voice caused everyone to look at her.

A boy with curly brown hair raised his hand, eyes filled with confusion. “Uh, if they took your speech or whatever it was seriously, then why are Hermes, Apollo, and Artemis still talking?”

The goddess smiled gently, “My speech does not count for them, they were being quiet.”

The black-haired boy raised his brows, looking at the trio. “Surprisingly.” He mumbled under his breath.

Hestia looked to the gods and goddesses, a sigh leaving her lips. “You may speak.”

The room exploded into chaos.

“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!” Zeus rumbled.

“Who are you?” Aphrodite hummed in question.

“Why did you come here?” Athena’s voice was cold and calculating, searching the faces of everyone there.

“Chiron, do you know these kids?” Hermes tilted his head, looking at the centaur.

The kids were quiet before Chiron took a hesitant step forward. “My lords, my ladies, do you not recognize them?” Before they could answer, a table appeared with several books on it. There was a note lying on top of the pile. “Oh, what’s this?” Chiron walked over to the table, picking up the note and scanned his eyes over it. His lips pulled into a thin line. He opened his mouth and began to read:

Dear Gods, demigods, etc.,

It has come to our attention the events that happen in the future, or past if you are certain people. We have decided to bring you all together to read about a hero who has helped prevent the destruction of Olympus twice. We do this with the hopes of creating family bonds, correcting mistakes, and hopes of the gods having a better understanding of struggles the demigods go through for them. It may also help prevent upcoming deaths and destruction from the war. The demigods are from different points in time. Jason, Piper, and Leo are from between the sixth and seventh books. Everyone else is from a week or so after the fifth book ends.

Please listen and use the information given to you wisely.

The Fates

The room was silent, everyone was too shocked to speak. Hestia cleared her throat, trying to rid the room of the awkward atmosphere. “Well, why don’t you state your names and godly parent?”

The demigods stood still before the blond girl rolled her eyes and stepped up. “Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena and Architech of Olympus.” Athena searched her face before a small smile graced her features. Annabeth tried to smile back, hiding a wince. If this was before Percy realized he was a demigod, she was not going to like it when she finds out we’re dating.

Before the next person can step up, Artemis lifted her hand. “‘Architech of Olympus’? Does that mean something happens to it in the future?”

Several people wince, looking to one another for an answer. Thankfully, Chiron cleared his throat. “Um, yes, m’lady. Something does indeed happen in the future, but I feel as though it be best if the books explain.”

None of the gods looked relieved by that.

The green-eyed boy stepped up next, grimacing as he mentally prepared himself. “Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, Hero of Olympus.”

“POSEIDON!” Both Zeus and Hades bellowed.

“Peace brothers,” Poseidon held up a hand, his gaze trained on Percy. His eyes held that same calculating look as Athena’s did. He grinned at his son, who returned it without hesitation. Zeus and Hades both glared at their brother, anger still evident on their faces, but one look from Hestia had them both settling back in their seats.

Poseidon made a couch by his throne, motioning for Percy to have a seat. Said demigod grinned, walked over, and sat down. Zeus went to make another comment but Poseidon glared at him.

“Clarisse La Rue, Daughter of Ares, Drakon Slayer.” Ares nodded at his daughter, smirking in approval. Clarisse hesitated for a moment before hastily adding, “Girlfriend of Chris.” She didn’t give any indicator who Chris was, much to Aphrodite’s and Ares’ dismay, both for different reasons.

“Connor…”

“… and Travis Stoll.”

“Sons of Hermes!” They finished together with a laugh, high-fiving. Hermes beamed at his sons, giving them an excited wave and conjuring a couch next to his throne. Once they were seated, Hermes shank down to human size, taking a seat next to his sons.

“Hermes…” Hera glared at the god, giving the demigods a disgusted look. Zeus also glared at the god.

“It’s not like we can avoid them, Hera. They will probably be stuck here for who knows how long.” Apollo observed the small group before them, secretly hoping that at least one of his children were there. Ares and Athena both shrugged and made couches for their children.

The Cherokee one stepped up, “Piper McLean, Daughter of Aphrodite.” Aphrodite, as expected, squealed happily. She looked delighted with her daughter but questioned her choice of outfit and style. Whatever makes her happy, she supposes. She waved her hand, a comfy pinkish-red couch appeared and she waved Piper over.

“Will Solace, son of Apollo, head healer of Camp Half-Blood,” He flashed them all a smile, perking up when Apollo waves him over excitedly to a couch he conjured.

The Hunter of Artemis was up next. She stood firmly before them, eyes void of any emotion as she spoke, “Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, and Lieutenant of Artemis.”

“ZEUS!” Hera yelled in rage. “Again!? You cheat on me again?!” She glared daggers at the god. Zeus shank back in his throne, but he did not look guilty, staring at his daughter.

Artemis smiled at her. She was always happy to have another hunter, but she couldn’t help but wonder what happened to Zoe. Thalia calmly went and sat by Annabeth with Athena.

Hades was glaring at his brother. “Both of you? Really?” He scoffed. “You force me into an oath and I had to keep it but you went off and had more children.” He scowled at the floor. It was bad enough what Zeus did to Maria and he didn’t even break the oath.

“You killed Maria. You tried to kill my children . And yet, you still break an oath that was swore on the River Styx.” Even though the words were spoke softly, the hate laying under was still evident. Persphone layed a hand on her husband’s. Although she didn’t like when he had demigod children, she understood where he came from. And he got better. He hasn’t had anymore children since the oath.

The room was silent, Poseidon and Zeus both having the decency to look guilty. A boy with black hair took a hesitate step forward. “Dad…” He started hesitantly, all heads swerving towards him.

Hades looked confused before realization hit him. “Nico?” His voice held disbelief, searching the boys eyes.

In a blink of an eye, Hades shank down to human form and pulled Nico into a hug. “My boy… My beautiful boy…” His voice held so much sorrow, but relief as well. Nico blushed brightly, not used to the attention of his father but he hugged back nonetheless.

Hades pulled back slightly, eyes confused. “Where’s your sister?” Nico’s face fell, swallowing as he looked down.

Percy walked over, placing a hand on his cousin’s shoulder. “It may be best to let the books explain.” His voice was tight, guilt and shame settling in his stomach.

Hades wasn’t the least bit reassured but he nodded and went back to his throne. Instead of sitting in it, he summoned a couch and sat down, gesturing Nico to take a seat with him. Before Nico sat down, he said “Nico di Angelo, son of Hades and Ghost King.”

Once they were settled, the group went back to introducing themselves. “Drew Tanaka, daughter of Aphrodite,” she didn’t say who she is dating, or was dating. He’s gone. Her mother beamed, and gestured for her to take a seat next to Piper. Piper eyed the girl, unease with how… nice she was being. It doesn’t look like she recongized Piper, which she couldn’t tell if she was happy about it or not. Nonetheless, she scooted over for Drew to have room.

“Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Mortal, Oracle of Delphi.” Apollo lit up, eyes going wide.

“My oracle changed?” His voice was small. Rachel gave a slight smile, nodding.

“Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus,” his father grunted in recognition and he waved his hand, making a workbench with many different items to fiddle with or make something small. Leo lit up and practically ran to the workbench, instantly starting to work on something.

“Grover Underwood, satyr.” He didn’t mention the part of Lord of the Wild. They’ll find out later.

Dionysus glanced up at the satyr, giving a small nod before going back to his magazine that seemingly came out of nowhere.

The blond boy winced silently when he realized he was next. Oh this is not going to end well. He summoned all the courage he had and spoke, “Jason Grace, son of Jupiter.”

The room went into chaos once again. Thalia stared at him in shock before crying out, leaping to her feet. She ran over to him, crushing him a hug. Hera started screaming at Zeus once more, mad that he cheated not once, but twice! With the same women! The room would’ve went to shambles if Hestia didn’t stop it.

“Enough!” Her voice was powerful enough to carry throughout the room, effectively silencing everyone. She huffed, eyes glancing over at Hera. “There is no use in berating him, sister. You know he will not change. But I will not have you take out your anger on these demigods. No more interruptions, let them finish their introductions.” She nodded for them to continue.

“Chris Rodriguez, son of Hermes, boyfriend to Clarisse,” He walked over and sat with his father a brothers, ignoring the glare Ares sent him and the bright look in Aphrodites eyes.

The only one left was Chiron. He smiled slyly, “I assume you do not need me to introduce myself?” With several head shakes, he moved over to Percy’s side, sitting on a cushion that Poseidon summoned.

“Is that everyone?” Hestia did a headcount, thinking hard to remember their names.

“I think so-”

Another portal opened up, three more people falling out. They stood and looked around in confusion, taking in their surroundings. The room was silent until-

“Lee?”

Tears formed in Will’s eyes. His older brother looked at him in surprise before his face split into a small grin, opening his arms for his younger brother. Will let out a delighted laugh, jumping up and running into his arms.

Drew stood up as well, taking a hesitate step forwards. “B-but… you guys are supposed to be dead. We saw you die…” Her voice was hoarse, clearing trying to hold back tears.

The new demigods looked at each other, eyebrows furrowed. Another note appeared, slowly floating down into Drew’s hand. She looked down, eyes wide as she read it:

We forgot to mention that some people who had died in the war shall be here, however they will not be alive when you go back to your timelines. People may also be added if we feel like it.

The Fates

Drew swallowed thickly before looking back up at the demigods. Her form broke and she ran over to Silena, tears streaming down her face. She hit her chest angrily. “You idiot!” She screamed, choking on a sob. Silena held her arms gently, trying her best not to burst into tears. “Why- how- I hate you!” Drew sobbed, “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you…” Her voice fainted as she leaned against her big sister, clenching her tightly. Silena held her in her arms, silent tears running down her face and she keep mumbling ‘I’m sorry, I’m so sorry’ over and over again.

The scene was heartbreaking. The others had to look away before they burst into tears as well. It didn’t do much for Will or Lee however, since they were already crying. Piper was unnerved to say the least. She had seen Drew mad, she had seen Drew frustrated, she had seen Drew bossy. But she had never seen her sad. She had never seen her so sad and heartbroken where she was hugging her sister tightly, afraid that if she let go, Silena would disappear. Where her makeup ran down her face, smeared by her tears. It made Piper’s eyes well with unshed tears.

“How about you three introduce yourselves as well,” Hestia mumbled softly.

A muscular guy stepped up. “Charles Beckendorf. Son of Hephaestus, boyfriend of Silena.” Leo looked up as Charles walked over to him, eyes wide. This was the dude that had died before he got to camp. Even if the guy looked intimidating, he smiled at Leo. “Are you one of the campers that came to camp after the war?” He murmured softly, gaining a nod.

“Leo Valdez at your service.”

Charles laughed, ruffling Leo’s hair, “Nice to meet you Leo.”

He sat down, looking over Leo’s shoulder as he worked. The girl holding Drew stepped up. “Silena Beauregard, Daughter of Aphrodite, and girlfriend to Charles.” She walked over to the couch next to Aphrodite, taking Drew with her, and took a seat, glancing at Piper curiously.

“Lee Fletcher, son of Apollo.” He smiled, watching his dad smiling sadly in return. He doesn’t blame him, the god had just found out he has already died. He lead Will over to Apollo, both taking a seat. He looked over to Drew, smiling softly when her eyes were already on him. He mouthed ‘We’ll talk later’ which earned him a nod.

“Now that everyone is introduced,” Hera started heatedly, “can we get on with this?”

“Who would like to start?” Poseidon asked.

“I will,” Annabeth raised her hand. She wondered over to the table and grabbed the book that was labeled ‘1’. She inspected the book, going back to her seat. There was no title.
